Amara has been noted to be an interesting character wherever she goes. Often being best described as intense, focused, and deliberate. No matter the situation, she has always been one to take things seriously and almost have a form of tunnel vision. Where nothing else mattered besides the purpose of what she was trying to achieve. Which, in a sense was always a plus, but it was a double edged sword. She could get so wrapped up in one area, everything else would fade into the back and cause her to become reckless and single minded. Often putting herself and others at risk due to being so focused on one thing at a time.
Considering what her past job was, being an Auror for the Ministry of Magic, it's not very shocking that she can be intense at times. Especially when in her class. You either pass with flying colors, or if you think you can't do it, the door will be there for you to go out. Some have said she even takes her current job as a professor a little too seriously, but when all's considered, she's hard on the students for their safety and everyone else involved. When you're teaching a bunch of 17 year old students, how to go from one spot to another instantaniously, you have to be strict. The last thing you need it someone losing a limb or being entirely ripped apart in the process. She's seen it happen once, and she doesn't want that same fate to befall anyone else. So, does she put her students under immense stress and can become a bit too much in her class? Yes. But it's only because she wants them to succeed and have nothing happen to them because she got sloppy or lazy. When she sees the potential in someone for greatness, she will do everything in her power to push them to their absolute limit, and then some. All because she knows what they're capable of better than they may know it.
Outside of the classroom, though. She is an entirely different subject. She becomes more lax, and less harsh. Almost even to the point of being a bit warm to some people. She can be curious and kind, but with a wicked sense of dry humor. Often people asking her if she's being serious, which often results with her rolling her eyes back into her sockets with annoyance. The one thing she hates having to do, is explain herself, mainly because she tends to carry an all too serious and meloncolic tone and air about her. Often being referred to as a cynic and a bit of a bitch at times. Which, she can't entirely deny, because, well, it's true.
While most of her past and her backround has been entirely erased from public knowledge, except for a few people, she seems to be rather open on most subjects. But she prefers to keep her time of an Auror disclosed and away from being talked about, for unknown reasons. Some people assume it was a mission for the Ministry going terribly wrong, or even maybe torture as she does have a few odd scars scattered across her body that seem more than simple accidents or mishaps like she tries to play off. Whenever she's around large crowds of people, closed in spaces, or even around later hours of the day, she seems to become a bit skiddish and flaky. Often not being seen for hours of end sometimes. She's a bit of an odd person in general, but for those that have been able to get past her rather guarded and prickly exterior, can tell she's just someone that has been through a lot and would prefer to not talk about it. She's all too loyal to those she trusts, however few and far between they may be. But one thing is certain, she's a woman of passion and getting the job done, and would easily do anything for her students and fellow professors without a doubt in her mind. They're family, and you don't mess with them.
