He then analyzed the floor, and realized that it was his straightener. Sighing, he opened the door to their room, striding out into the dull hallway and all the way to the kitchen, greeting Turtle and Jay as he did so. He got another monster from the fridge, popped it open, and took a sip, leaning on the granite counter as he did so. He looked out the window again in the darkness, hearing another distant cry of a wolf.

Slipping out of the room, he followed after Sonny to the kitchen, giving a nod of greeting to the two girls. Poking through the fridge, he eventually decided on a sobe and leaned back to twist the cap off. Hesitating only a moment, he meandered over to settle right next to Sonny.

"You know," he started, "I once saw a movie about these 3 people who got stuck on a Ski lift over-night...all went insane. One guy jumped out of the chair and landed 30 feet down...both his legs were shattered. Was at the mercy of those wolves outside," he said, gesturing to the window. "Not that I'm trying to scare anyone," he then continued, holding back a laugh.
He set his drink down on the counter, then wrapped his arm tightly around Gale's waist again, much like he did back in their room. "Just pretend like you didn't hear that story."

He took another sip of his drink, the bottle cold against his hand. "'M usually stuck watching ghost horror-flicks or disney though," he added. He didn't mind, per se, but as the genres were favorites of his mom and sister, pretty much every movie in the house was one or the other.

Even though he didn't have her number in his phone anymore, he still knew the number by heart, against his will. He debated on whether he should answer or not, but quickly deicided that he should. What could she possibly be calling him for?
"Hello," he answered quietly, pretending as if its just any other phone call.
"Hello...." she echoed back, sounding eerily like him.
"Why the hell are you calling me?" he hissed into the phone, biting his tognue to keep from yelling at her. There was a pause, then she spoke again, this time louder.
"Can't I just call you without there being any reason?" she asked, sounding like she had better things to do.
"NO, you can't fucking call me, because you have no reason to want to talk to me. I don't want to hear what you have to say, okay? So just leave me alone, you stupid bitch," he exclaimed, and immediately knew that it was louder than it should have been. Hanging up the phone, he stood there for a couple of moments, looking down at her number in anger and confusion. He really needed to get his number switched again.

Taking a sip with eyes half-closed, he restrained an 'eep' as Turtle hugged him, eyes blinking open again, before he smiled warmly, her excitement catching. Taking a last gulp of his drink before he could spill it, he set it next to him, to put with the recyclables once he was released. He glanced up though, as Sonny's voice filtered into the kitchen. He didn't sound happy. Swiftly extracting himself from Turtle's hold with a faintly apologetic look, he set off back for their room. Peering in, he quickly headed over to Sonny's side- yep, definitely not happy- and gently bumped his shoulder against Sonny's again.
He didn't really know what was going on, but Sonny wasn't happy, and that was all he needed. He didn't move away, hoping that that would help somehow.

And it really wasn't important. She was only doing this to show him that she was unaffected by what she did. And his reaction surely did not show her that he was feeling the same. If only he had better ways of controlling his outbursts.
