Bob's Story

A pale boy sat on his bed, watching.

He was dressed in those embarassing large white clothes that all patients got in this hospital. He hated it. As well as the room he was bound to, a sterile lifeless chamber of white and grey. But lately, there was some more life in it. A new bed, a new patient.

The girl had been brought here a few minutes ago. He watched her since, not daring to start a conversation. What should he have told her, anyway? "Hey, my name is Bob, I'm gonna take over the world someday!" A very bad warm-up. So he said nothing, just looked at the girl whenever she turned away, watching and waiting. She was the new one. She had to start it.
