Dawn Insula Spero

Princess of Air

0 · 263 views · located in Faybourne (PAST)

a character in “Keys of Faybourne”, originally authored by Kura Ravengade, as played by RolePlayGateway

Description

Earth____________________________Faybourne

Image Image

Earth Name: Dawn Insula Spero(Aurora is Dawn in Greek, Insula is Lillian in Latin, and Spero is Hope in Latin)

Faybourne Name: Aurora Hiberna Ventulus (Aura is Dawn in Greek, Hiberna is Winter in Latin, and Ventulus is Breeze in Latin)

Element: Air

Princess, Guardian or Other?: Princess

Age: 23

Job/School: Aspiring Actress

Personality: If someone were to describe her, they would use two words; crazy yet kind. She may be serious when it involves acting or when it is needed, but more times than not, she’s seen doing insane things that most normal people wouldn’t do, if only to make people laugh. She has a great sense of humor and loves people, but is easily hurt. She’s almost like a child in some ways, which often makes people become more protective of or target her due to her obvious vulnerability. She loves animals and children and would do anything to keep her loved ones safe, even if it may hurt her in the end. Her being extremely clumsy and not seeming to have the best of luck doesn't really work in favor, either. Leiyon was always the one that had to make sure she didn't hurt herself, and when she did, he was always the one there to pick her back up and help her, often calming the tears that threatened to spill in either embarrassment or pain.

Strengths: N/A
She wins people over fairly easily with her natural charm and glowing charisma which draws people in like a magnet
Weaknesses:
She’s far too trusting of people and tends to always look for the good in them, also always ending up hurt in the end
(Rest will be revealed in RP)

Earth History: Dawn thinks that she was raised by a middle-class, normal family, with two siblings, an older and younger brother. Her 'mother' was a performing arts fanatic, and her 'father' was a huge sports fan, so both rubbed off on her. When she's not acting, she's seen wearing baggy clothes and a baseball cap, or out playing some sort of sport in order to help charity. She graduated from high school with a 3.8 GPA and as captain of the girl's softball and hockey teams, and co-captain of the cheer leading squad. She excelled in choir and band and lived for the spotlight and to be on stage performing. She went to a performing arts college in California then left the busy state to move to somewhere a bit calmer and is now working on furthering her acting career. She just recently landed a role in a new making of the cartoon movie Anastasia.

Faybourne History: Ever since she was a child, she enjoyed sitting anywhere outside, so long as even the gentlest of breezes would touch her skin. She specifically enjoyed being near oceans and in fields, where the wind was strong enough to be felt but gentle enough so as not to irritate you, and would carry the amazing smells of flowers and salt-water to her. Her parents raised her with private tutors and she wasn’t allowed out of the castle walls. She never saw another child unless it was the child of a servant at the castle, and she was taught always to be a lady and excelled with her studies and had natural-born musical and performing art talents. As she reached the age of eleven, she would sneak out of the castle to attend plays, musicals, and concerts, and even participated in her own fair share of each. When she was around thirteen, her father assigned her a new guard named Leiyon, who then became her guardian. He was still in training when assigned to her which only caused her to want to play little tricks on him, teasing him when she could. It was all playful and in good nature, though, even if she knew it irritated him, but that made it all the more fun for her. She’d go out of her way to make his job a bit more difficult than it was already, if only to make it so he became better at his job. She enjoyed driving Leiyon nuts trying to protect her.

So begins...

Jillian gasped, leaning back in her chair as the rather large man approached her. He was frightening in many ways, in both his appearance and his darkened aura. It was astounding that he could even bare to deal with his own aura, it was so stifling. He slammed his hand on the table before her, leaning in close and getting in her face.

"We know you did it, so just admit to it, Jillian. Two of your best friends are dead, yet you sit here and act like it's nothing. You make me sick. You should just-"

Aurora was so immersed in her book that she didn't even notice that the air had gone still and the sky had darkened. She looked up only when she heard a loud pounding on the door, followed by the voice of her Guardian, Leiyon. She looked up and out her window, the book dropping from her hands and landing with a soft thud on the table. Without a word, she moved quickly to the window and threw the doors of it open, leaned outside, and was immediately assaulted by powerful winds. Instead of panicking, she took a deep breath, closed her eyes, and concentrated. Almost immediately the wind began to settle down so that it wasn't threatening to cause her to topple from the window. She pulled the window shut and rushed to the door of her room, shoving it open and almost falling on her face before Leiyon.

"Leiyon! What in the world is happening?" she asked, looking back and forth down the hallway and at the rushing servants. She looked back at him, tears beginning to well up in her eyes, her young, thirteen-year-old face paling as fear enveloped her. "I'm scared, Leiyon," she whispered, one tear escaping and slowly trickling down her cheek.

Leiyon was lying on the wide plains of grass. Winds blew as they softly touch his skin. He liked the breeze. It was gentle and kind, like a mother holding her baby. The fact that he's an Air guardian might be the cause of this, but he believed that it was because how he wanted to be like the Air. Always blowing without a care, but at the same time, calming others with their gentle wind. Leiyon closed his eyes, and thought that nothing would destroy this enjoyment, when suddenly, he felt a threat. The wind blew furiously, as the sky slowly turn black.

"What... The wind is furious... Has the Chaos element finally begun it's attack?" He thought, as he quickly got up.
"The princess might be in danger." But then, he remembered. He had a phobia with women, where he would lose his mind and would have no idea what to do.
"I can't! The princess might be in danger!" He pushed away the thought, and quickly built his courage to find her, in her room.

Minutes later, he had reach the room. The sky was even more darker, and the trees rustled against the powerful wind. It wasn't a good sign. Winds like these often means world-destruction danger. Leiyon had to quickly escape with the princess. It was his job. He never failed his job, nor wanted to. But this time, it was a feeling to protect. To protect the girl who made his job worse. To protect the girl he was made to protect. To protect the girl who welcomed him with her warm arms. The sun which shone brightly in his life. It was Aurora Hiberna Ventulus. He quickly gave a quick knock on the door, and asked, "Princess! Are you here?! We need to escape quickly before anything happens! Please open the door!"

"I don't know. All I know is, Chaos is invading, and we need to get to the castle, ASAP." Leiyon gently grabbed her hand, his phobia kicked in, but he fought against it. <Now isn't the time to be scared of women, Leiyon. Protect her! Do everything you can to get her to safety! If you do, you will never be able to stand up again!> He thought. He looked around, making sure the place is safe. He turned to Aurora. "Let's go before the minions atta-" Too late. The area was filled with Chaos's dark minions. He drew his blade, as he readied his stance. "Princess, please go. I will cover you." He swung his blade, and a gust of wind eliminated three minions. But, they came back. "Damn!" He walked forward, as a huge amount of minions surrounded him. They jumped at him in lots, but he had a trump card.

"Whirlwind!"

He spun his blade, as a huge wave of wind surrounded him, and deflected the attacks, and at the same time, attacked them. He dropped down to his knees. He wasn't trained well enough to handle a wave that big, but if it's to protect the princess, he would give up his life. He walked back, as his strength slowly got back to him. "Let's go. We don't have much time."

"Chaos? As in the one the proverbs predicted?" she whispered, her heart stilling in her chest before beginning to thunder at a fast pace. She hurried to keep up with him as he practically dragged her down the hall. She skidded to a stop when he paused, and the air went still. "Leiyon-" she cut off with a gasp as a cold filled the room, seeping into everything, the darkness seeming to spread just as the cold did. When he ordered her to leave, she clenched her hands into fists and stood her ground. She wasn't about to leave him, guardian or not. Besides, she had her own fair amount of training in both power control and weaponry. She took down two of the minions as they went to grab her with a large burst of wind, then four more as they threw themselves in her direction with wind that blasted them through the ceiling.

When she heard Leiyon, Aurora turned slightly, her eyes wide. "But mother and father-" she cut off as the air began to thicken with the warning of more minions to come. She grabbed his wrist without a second thought and took off, pulling him behind her. "When the proverbs spoke to the royal families about Chaos, the other princesses and I were spying on them. Although the younger ones did not truly understand everything said, the older ones and I did. There is ... A portal of some sort we have to go through for safety. I don't know where it goes and I don't know what happens when someone passes through it, but I know where it is. Should we go there?" she asked, pulling him to a stop inside a crevice in the wall. She cast several glances around and, despite her obvious fear, she was putting on a brave face and still thinking logically.

Aurora practically dragged Leiyon, as they marched on in the halls. "A... portal? To where?" He asked frankly when he stopped again. <The air doesn't feel right... What's happening?!> He yelled in his head, when he realized. A dark minion stood alone in the hallway. It stared at him and Aurora, as it's round eyes as if pierced they souls. "I have a bad feeling. Aurora, find the portal. And don't you dare stay. I'll handle this on my own." He said as he readied his sword.

Just as when he yelled, the minion suddenly yelled. It's voice echoed throughout the halls, it vibrated Leiyon's ears, and just as he fell down, it suddenly stop. Dark aura started to engulf around it, as a hurricane of the dark auras surrounded it, then as if consumed it. Leiyon, who before being hit, was protected by an invisible shield, most likely the wind. The explosion stopped, but when he regained sight, something big stood where the minion was. "What the... FUCK. RUN, AURORA! DON'T LOOK BACK!" He yelled, as he pushed Aurora with his wind, as she slowly went further and further into the hall. "You damn monster. What the fuck are you..." He looked at it, as it instantly slammed Leiyon to the wall. The pressure was so heavy, blood slowly came out of Leiyon's mouth. It stopped, and Leiyon fell weakly down to the ground. "Sh...it.... Can't.... put up... much... of a fight...." Leiyon mumbled, as he got up, and quickly charged at it. It tried to stop him, slamming down on the ground, like a human trying to hit an ant, Leiyon stopped midway, then he raised his sword. "I'm gonna end this! You fucking monster, DIE!" Air started to form on his sword, and it extend and extend, to the point where it stood neck to neck with the monster.

"Heaven's BLADE!"

He pushed the blade down, as it chopped the monster in half, but it then turned into hundreds of mini minions. Leiyon did not have any strength left, as the attack on him was severe, and that skill took all he had to use. He fell down to the ground, but before that, he use his last ounce of strength to push himself back, as far as it can take him.

Aurora’s eyes immediately widened in both fear and shock as the oddly-shaped, large, deformed monster appeared, and she instinctively took one step back. “Leiyon,” she whispered as he ordered her to leave. She shook her head mutely and stood her ground, covering her ears and flinching as the monster screeched. She suddenly felt herself being pushed backwards down the hall. “Leiyon, no, stop!” she shouted, and the wind immediately ceased at her cry. She watched helplessly as thrown around like a rag doll, her body frozen in fear. She didn’t have any weapons other than her powers, which she could use, but she couldn’t find the opportunity to without hurting her Guardian.

When the minions began to envelope him after he sliced the monster in half, and he managed to push himself away just a bit, she let out a burst of power. The minions flew away from his body in all directions, slamming into various items, furniture, and parts of the wall, exploding into a black dust as they made contact. She rushed over to her Guardian’s side and, despite how much larger and heavier then she he was, she managed to get his arm around her shoulders and pull him up. She struggled a little under the weight of his body. “Okay, Leiyon, you’re going to need to help me here,” she gasped out, stumbling a little before hefting him up more. “Leiyon, hey, help me out here,” she groaned a little as she managed to get him around a corner. “Where are we going?” she asked breathlessly.

Leiyon landed on the hard ground, and beside him was the Aurora using her powers on the mini minions. he was a bit surprised when she was able to lift him, and managed to drag him to a corner. He could hear blurry, but awhile later, when he sat down, his strength came back, although little, he was able to stay awake. "Where are we going?" She asked breathlessly. Leiyon slowly got, but staggered every now and then. "We should be close to a council room... The other should be ther-" Blood gushed out of his mouth. He suffered quite a damage from the monster, and he knew, that the possibility of his internal organs bleeding and rib cage breaking was high, but he didn't want to worry his Princess any further. He quickly walked towards their destination, which what seemed to be a few minutes walk turned into an hour long. Hopefully, he was able to use the Air magic to sustain his balance, hopefully thinking he can rest when he reach room. "Let us hurry, princess..."

A few minutes passed, as they have reached a door where voices can be heard. He knew this is the room where the other ten was gathered, but the problem is the minions at the door. Fortunately, part of his strength returned, and he knew that he didn't have more time to waste, considering that his bleeding internally. He quickly got back up, and walked towards the dark crowd. Aurora was behind, trying to stop him, but he can't hear it. He continues walking, and then stood a few meters behind the crowd. "HEY YOU, FUCKING MONSTERS. HERE." He yelled, attracting the attention of the dark minions. They quickly charged at him, but he raised his hands and mumbled a skill. "Air blast."

A huge blast of air that filled the room blasted through the dark minions, as they disappear one by one, and behind the blast of wind is followed by Leiyon and his princess. Once they've reached the door, he knock on it with the last ounce of his strength. "The Air duo is here... Please open the door!" Then he fell down, his conscious slowly disappearing, as he mumbled again under his breath. "Damn it..."

Nerissa turned when the light guardian and princess came into the room, and nodded at the other guardians greeting. She gasped when she saw his wounds and ran over to see if she could help. If only she had some sort of healing power, but the most she could do send a calming aura out, which can somethimes help alieviate the pain, but not much more. The earth guardian came in and the council woman chimed the big green crystal in the center of the room. Nerissa liked the sound, it felt calming to her in a sort of way, like there was hope behind it. While the sound rang through the chamber she thought she heard a sound. she went over to the door and put her ear against it. "The Air duo is here... Please open the door!" she heard faintly, then a thump and, "Damn it..." She opened the door a crack to see the air princess and her guardian, who was slumped on the floor. She scanned the hallway to see if there was any of those dark monsters near; there wasn't. "You're hurt too!" She exclaimed in a quiet voice, moving to help the guardian inside before anymore minions came.

Aquila quickly rushes to Nerissa's aid, helping her get the air duo inside, and shutting the doors behind her, leaning against them. She falls on to her knees as a large tremor rocks the entire structure, knocking the Council member off-balance. Several crystal shards fall from the ceiling as Aquila cries out a warning to the others in the room.

Someone knocks on the door, and Aquila barely hears through all the commotion, but she opens it cautiously. A wide smile spreads across her face as she engulfs Asclepius in a hug, his presence comforting her. "Thank you for coming so quickly," she murmurs, the smile still on her face.

Her fellow Council member-the closest thing she has to a father-surveys the room with his brown eyes, before asking in a deep baritone, "Who is my patient?"

Jagus turned as he heard the knock on the door, though he didn't hear what they said. He was surprised no one had commented about his incredibly rash self healing. He was feeling a little better now, enough to stand on his feet, but he wasn't sure how long it would last. He looked over to the door to see the air princess and her guardian come in. "Princess Aurora," he said. "Its a pleasure. And Leiyon. Its good to.... Leiyon!" He staggered over to the air guardian, his jaw practically on the floor in surprise as he looked at all of Leiyon's wounds. "Jesus Christ! What in the world happened to you?!" The injuries that Leiyon had taken looked far more painful than his. "Just hang in there." he said. "There is a healer on the way. He will do what he can to patch you up." As Jagus stood back up, the tremor hit.

Jagus nearly fell over, but he pulled out his sword and used it to support himself. As the tremor ended, Jagus noticed the crystals begining to fall. Thats when he noticed Evangelina, on the floor trying to stand back up, and directly in the path of one of the shards. "Evangelina!" Jagus cried out as he put on a burst of speed he didn't know he had left in him. He ended his dash in a slide, ending up right next to the princess with his shield out. Jagus used the shield to cover him and Evangelina from the crystal, which smashed against it and mostly shattered, the last few pieces scattering around them. Jagus leaned Evangelina back against the wall. "Don't worry." he said in a calming manner, pushing a few strands of hair out of her eyes. "I'll protect you." As he moved to stand back up, Jagus found out the hard way what happens when you use the last of your strength in an instant, and fell back over, now leaning against the wall. He coughed up a slight trickle of blood. As he wiped it away, he commented "Its just a trickle, at least. It could be worse."

As Asclepius entered and asked for his patient, Jagus smiled and answered him. "If you had entered a few moments ago, that would have been just me. However, Leiyon over there needs far more medical attention than I do. Take care of him first. I can hang in there for a few more minutes, at least.

As he was unconscious, Leiyon, feeling the air, knew that he was pulled to one side sitting up. He struggled to open his eyes. Like weights on his eyelids. Finally, it opened, welcoming the lights outside into his eyes. Jagus, holding onto his sheathed blade, kept on yelling, but he couldn't hear what it was. All he could hear was a blur static, and when Jagus suddenly ran away, shards from above came raining down from above, like thousands of raindrops. He knew that it will hit his princess, so he acted by instinct, and stood up, throwing his hand towards the falling crystal, forming an almost invisible wind shield, but it wasn't strong enough, and a few hit his hands and legs, but none to his body luckily. He dropped back down, blood visibly coming out, but he still held his conscious. "Dammit... I can't... get... more... careless... anymore... Ergh!" He held the scream back, as the pain consumed him. Fortunately, the source of his power; natural air increased the rate of his healing, but he needed medical attention before it gets more bad.

Rushing towards the clearly hurt air guardian, Aquila hung back as Asclepius ran a quick diagnostic check, closing his eyes shortly after. A sort of white flame burst to life around his hands as he leaned toward the injured guardian. "This won't hurt, but it may...tingle a bit," Asclepius says as he touches Leiyon's body. The white fire spread, engulfing them both and lighting up the entire room. As Asclepius healed, Aquila took a defensive stance in front of the doors as odd, inhuman yells were heard from behind them and the great crystal doors shuddered and groaned under a large amount of pressure. "Help me cover them!" she yells to the other guardians in the room, gesturing to the motionless healer and Leiyon.

Aurora had barely enough time to catch Leiyon before he collapsed to the ground. Her knees buckled under his weight, and she cast a fearful glance over her shoulder and down the hall. She slammed a few knocks on the door. "Please, open the door. He needs help!" she shouted. The door whisked open just as her strength to hold him up gave out, and she was relieved when he was taken from her arms. Rubbing at her slightly-sore muscles, she hurried in after them, reaching where they had placed her Guardian moments before the tremor hit. Immediately shards of glass began to rain down around them. Instinctively, she threw her arms around her head to shield her body from harm, only to find that none came near her. When she opened her eyes, it was to find Leiyon tumbling to the ground.

"You idiot!" she cried, hurrying over to him. She stopped as Asclepius began to work on him and took several steps back, jumping as the door began to shudder. She darted over to stand near Aquila, dropping her hand on her shoulder. "I can hold them back," she said with a nod. She turned back around and stared at the door. Immediately, powerful gusts of wind began to slam against the door, relentless in their assault. They pushed it back so it stopped shuddering from the attack of the enemy, but her energy was slowly draining away. She wouldn't be able to hold it for too long, just long enough for Leiyon to be healed and for Aquila to figure out what they were supposed to do.

His eyes dropping every moment, but he struggled to keep them open. His princess yelled something he couldn't hear clearly, but he was sure that she said something offensive about him. A man came to his side and started to heal him, feeling that his wounds getting better, until he can slowly sit up and finally hearing anything.

"I can hold them back."

He clicked his tongue. Why wasn't he stronger? Every moment he had been wandering about that. He hated himself for being weak. He needed to train more, he told himself. The struggles of the princess trying to hold the minions back hurt his pride. He couldn't bear to watch his princess doing things that he should be doing. Her pranks was enough a burden for him, but seeing her struggle like that crossed the line. He hurried the healer, who nodded. The air around him are enough a treatment for him to rest for half an hour, but with the help of the healer, it turned out faster than he thought.

Quickly, once confirming that he could sustain his balance and use his powers, he quickly rushed to Aurora, who stepped back against the monsters. He gently hold her stretched arms, fighting off his phobia and complex, he transferred small amounts of his power, making the gust of wind suddenly turning into a tornado and wiping out the minions quickly. He let go, and suddenly feel to his knees. "Damn phobias. Got me shaking knees." He clicked his tongue again, and turned away, blushing.

The air duo quickly took care of the foul minions, but Aquila narrowed her eyes, feeling a strange energy outside. "Thank you," she said gratefully to them, giving a quick nod of acknowledgement. "Stay here, please," she addressed the others, before quickly slipping out the already cracking crystal doors. Blasting the remaining minions with a combination of light and flame, she crept around the corner-

Only to scream, discovering the bodies of several Council members strewn about the area.
