a character in “Lacrezia - The Reborn World”, as played by FamishedPants

Description

Licht

Image
Nickname:
Light

Age:
18

Gender:
Male

Appearance:
Takeshi's avatar remains the same as it did in Antiva Chronus Online. He sports medium-lengthed blue hair that extends down to his cheeks on the side. His skin is a pale white color and his eyes are the same hue of blue as his hair is. A moderately-toned body hides beneath his clothing and no visible blemishes taint the surface of his face or skin.

He replicates his same clothing as well, the trenchcoat making the return along with his avatar. As before, he leaves as little skin as possible in the open with his long sleeves. A black trim borders his shoulders and travels the span of his coat. Golden borders outline the end of the sleeves and along the path where it would open, and there are a few visible accessories on the elbow that hang freely.

Matou Takeshi

Image
Nickname:
Doesn't have one.

Age:
23

Gender:
Male

Appearance:
Takeshi comes off as a pretty handsome young man, which would contradict one's expections when meeting him on an online game. His hair is a golden color of similar length to his avatar's, and a pair of blue orbs that make his eyes to match. He is of average height, never standing too far above or too far under any one person, and he has the same build as his avatar as well.

When it comes to clothing, he varies. Or did. Within these past few months, he has not been changing too often and could be seen wearing a short-sleeved shirt and a pair of shorts to finish it. Aside from that, he doesn't really stand out in a crowd through appearance alone.

Personality
Since the events of Antiva Chronus Online, Takeshi has matured just a bit. He no longer runs around, simply seeking a challenge, nor does he blindly trust people like he had once done. He interests himself only in getting stronger in Lacrezia so that if another problem arises, he can put an end to it as quick as possible. It is for that reason that, until just recently as he hit a higher level, he hadn't been too sociable and does not have many friends that don't have some relation to a strong guild.

But don't think him an ass. He still enjoys any challenges in the game, and he most certainly has no qualms with speaking or interacting with people. He's easy to befriend and a loyal friend once you make him such. Takeshi is still just Takeshi from before, except that he realizes his priorities now. Now, after accepting what happened in ACO, there is no difference in the personalities between his avatar and himself.

Background
Long ago, before the events of even Antiva Chronus Online, Takeshi was born into the world as a very energetic boy. He loved moving, playing, and anything to do with being active. He had much energy to burn and very few people who could keep up with him long enough to burn it. So you should not be surprised that as he grew up, he grew up wanting to be a professional athlete. Everything in his life was leading him up to that point, what with him becoming more and more focused on that goal. However, his dream was crushed.

He was diagnosed with a heart disease at a young age when he began losing more and more stamina for no apparent reason. Soon, it became nearly impossible to run half as long a distance as he used to. Each action he took strained him far more than it originally did. He lost his reason for living, he thought. Takeshi fell into quite the depression, losing his sense of self-worth and becoming a shy individual simply because he did not think he was worthy of anything. And that's when he stumbled upon ACO. In ACO, he could do everything he used to do and so much more! He could run, jump, fight, trade, and make friends again! He was so happy! So much so that, originally, he did not care too much about the announcement that he was stuck in this world. After all, if he had to go back to the real world, he'd have his useless body, wouldn't he? What's so wrong with staying in ACO?

Takeshi made a name for himself in ACO. He became well-known after obtaining a legendary in-game weapon designed after the element of Light. He was thusly dubbed "Warrior of Light", a man many people both feared and respected, despite his odd personality that contradicted a role with such power. But for the longest time, he failed to really contribute to actually getting people out of the prison they were in. It was only when following the rumors of the location of a powerful warrior, that he wound up becoming part of the party that ended the ACO disaster. As it had turned out, someone had imprisoned Takeshi's newest 'sparring partner' for selfish reasons, and her party had ventured deep into the fortress like tower she was held in to save her. Back then, Takeshi was a bit more bold and headed straight in behind them, eventually meeting up with the party, defeating the foes who lied in wait, and saving her. He was only absorbed into the party after they granted his wish which, of course, was a match between Refa and himself.

To be honest, a tie was the best possible outcome to that match. It truly was a fun fight.

Takeshi, Refa, and the rest of the crew eventually saved the day, each person in their own way. After all, defeating the final boss was not the only job for that 'quest'.

....

....

....

When Takeshi awoke for the first time, he remembered all that he had lost upon exiting ACO. However, his friends were the first thought on his mind. He grew attached to those people he had fought with. He hoped they were back in their homes safely, and that was all he could do for them. But what they did for him was so much more. He realized that friends were more important than dreams. Dreams can become nightmares, but friends can help ease those nightmares. Everyone had a problem of their own, and for him to get so upset with his was just childish. Takeshi found new will, and with his new will came a new dream - to help others. In what way?

Well he was thinking about simply helping as a child's game designer. You know, simple, educational, nice. Nothing dangerous at all. That's what he was working on when he heard about Lacrezia finally being put into production. He knew the dangers of something like that. Takeshi put his aspirations on hold. He thought it his responsibility to make sure people did not suffer the same long fate as he and the others did, trapped in an unreal world with real danger.

His new goal in life became simple: Prevent ACO from reoccuring. And so he logged in and leveled up.

Equipment

Hope's Edge:
A unique blade with immense power, affiliated with the element of Light. It is described in the Archives as the strongest light-based weapon in the game, and is one of the strongest S-ranked single-handed blades. It takes shape of a ring when not in use. *CURRENTLY UNOBTAINED*

Angelic Halo:
A blade forged from the depths of hell, imbued with the souls of many slain angels. It is not a unique weapon, but is rare enough that people may sometimes consider it one. It grows in power as one levels, ensuring that it does not lose its use over time, making it an S-ranked weapon once the wielder is of high-enough level. The sword allows the user to use demonic techniques that excel in defeating angelic foes, and has an affinity for the element of Dark.

Trickerster's Bodyguard:
A seemingly useless trench coat. Offers very high evasion rate, but lacks in other defensive properties. Small increase to alchemy.

Sleight of Hand:
Black gloves which allow the wearer to move their hands more easily. Allows a higher basic attack speed and lowers the cooldown on abilities by a small percentage.

Steel Broadsword:
A basic sword. Kept for the sole purpose of protection after "Namenloses Licht" has been used. This is also the blade he uses before he finds Hope's Edge and Angelic Halo.

Potions:
Potions for use in combat. Can heal an ally or self, replenish mana, rid of illness, or restore stamina.

Essences:
Alchemical materials.

Magic Abilities

Mobius Shield:
A protective aura which grants self and party members increased damage resistance and evasion.

Light, protect us! - 3 word chant -

Mobius Sage:
An offensive aura which grants self and party increased damage and movement speed. Chant Required*

Light, give us strength! - 4 word chant -

Analyze:
An attack which runs the victim through for moderate damage and reveals detailed information such as stats, abilities and elemental weaknesses that the target has. Bosses or targets with a specific defense towards this effect only display partial information. *Hope's Edge Required*

Falling Blades:
Clones of Hope's Edge are made in a circle and shoot out into the air, they then attack a target for a total of three times during the effect. *Hope's Edge Required*

Double Edge:
Creates a stable clone of Hope's Edge for the use of dual wielding and allows the use of Twin Caliber. *Hope's Edge Required*

Twin Caliber:

Luminous Slash/Luminous Cleave:
LS - The user slashes Hope's Edge in a 360 degree circle around themself, damaging and knocking back enemies in its radius. *Requires Hope's Edge*
LC - The user swings both copies of Hope's Edge in a circle twice, damaging and knocking up enemies within its radius. *Requires Hope's Edge* *Double Edge Must be Activated*

Gleaming Flare:
Tags target with up to five marks, which then detonate to deal extra damage if they are hit with any Light-based ability. (Gleaming Annihilation is what the marks in Namenlosses Licht would be called.) *Requires Hope's Edge*

Photo Silhouette:
Clones the wielder of Hope's Edge. Clone shares the same abilities and stats as original. Defeating clone does not defeat original, but defeating original will cause the clone to disappear. *Requires Hope's Edge*

Afterimage:
Makes a clone and clips through the user while mimicking their actions perfectly. The delay between the original and the user is about half a second. *Requires Hope's Edge*

Drive Caliber:
A combo which deals a high amount of physical damage. The user knocks the target up, follows them through with an vertical attack, comes back down with another vertical attack, and a single tag of Gleaming Flare activates. *Requires Hope's Edge* *Requires Gleaming Flare*

Brionac Raid:
Changes Hope's Edge into a spear, which is then thrown and deals a high amount of damage to target before returning to the user. Among the highest cooldowns of the abilities given by Hope's Edge. *Requires Hope's Edge*

Namenloses Licht:
The user of Hope's Edge is granted unmatched speed as well as the ability to use Gleaming Annihilation. Enemies tagged by this take incredible damage which increases based on how many times they are tagged when the ability has ended, which is signaled by an explosion that activates the tags. Afterwords, Hope's Edge and all abilities associated with it are disabled for five in-game hours. *Requires Hope's Edge* *Chant Required*

I call upon you, that which lacks name! Lend me your incredible strength for just enough moments to vanquish my foes with ease! Guide Hope, Namenlosses Licht - 26 word chant -

Angelic Halo/Common Skills

Thrust/Serene Strike:
Licht's body relaxed as any trace of hostility leaves him. Then, with unmatched speed, strikes his foe, dealing moderate damage. While in Serene State, this strike does considerably more damage.

Counterstrike/Serene Retaliation:
Taking a defensive stance, Licht counters the next attack aimed for him with a strong blow. In the Serene State, the user recognizes the blow much earlier, allowing them to put even more force into the counter, dealing increased damage.

Demonic Guillotine:
Gathering his strength, Licht leaps up into the air and comes down with increased force with a blow aimed straight for his opponent's neck, dealing colossal damage if succeeding.

Vaporizing Rebellion Sword:
Licht begins performing a dance of death, striking with unmatched speed and accuracy to complete a seven-hit combo to deal extremely high damage.

Active Abilities

Serene State:
Calming his mind, Licht begins to completely sense the flow of the universe, and everything in it. While activated, he is able to predict and avoid the moves of others who hold hostile intent towards him at the cost of increased mana usage during its duration. User must also be able to concentrate to keep the ability active.

Passives/Techniques

Alchemy:
To give properties to something it did not have before. Adding flame attributes to a sword is an example. Also used to create potions and other items. Higher quality items require higher quality materials as you must give something of equal value for it to succeed.

Warrior of Light:
A passive given to the owner of Hope's Edge, increasing items, skills, spells, and buffs pertaining to Light. Light, being the natural enemy of dark, also makes him especially dangerous to demons. Because of this, his attacks deal 10% increased damage to foes of the demonkind, but 10% less to foes of the angelkind.

Battle Regeneration:
The user recovers health over time while out of battle. Process is sped up the longer the user is away from battles.

Serene Mind:
The user can passively sense the flow of the world, increasing evasion and parry rates by a small amount, as well as sensing attacks not normally noticed by the eyes or ears.

Charisma:
Earns a small discount at most weapon/clothing/item shops.

Swift:
User has increased movement speed in and out of battle.

Battle Continuation:
User receives slightly decreased damage from any attacks on non-vital parts of them. Furthermore, the user may not be killed (Dropped below 1 HP) unless hit in a vital area or dealt insane damage that exceeds zero health. (Had to have my one FS/N reference :3)

Battle Synergy:
When the User has attacked an enemy within ten seconds of another party member, he deals 10% increased damage.

Veteran:
User gains a 4% increase to experienced earned when fighting alone. When he joins a party, he loses this buff but grants allies a 2% increase to their own experience.

Crab Battle!:
User deals heavy damage to crustaceans.

Licht

Nowadays, Takeshi had little to no problems when dealing with people in the real world, having long ago regained the confidence he had before his disability became apparent. He had a nice little job that required little physical stress and one he actually enjoyed going to. It was like he did not have a job. They say that if you love what you do, you'll never have to work a day in your life, and to Takeshi, this was mostly the case. However... well, he had a job to attend, so he was unable to pick up a copy of Lacrezia until later in the afternoon, much to his dismay.

He, much like a fellow player he had never met before, took vacation days he had saved up and spent them all at once so that he may play the game guilt-free. Takeshi had to make sure he could do everything he could to gain power in the game so that when the time came that history repeated itself (and he was sure it was going to) that he could once again rise to the occasion and help the people escape from Lacrezia! This goal he had in mind was what made him overcome his initial fear of VRMMOs that he had developed after the Antiva Chronos Online incident that he was a key player years ago.

Takeshi spent no time dilly-dallying and rushed to his room when he got home so that he could set up his new game. The steps, although a bit different, were familiar enough that Takeshi had no real difficulty adjusting and calibrating the device to himself. When all was said and done, it had taken him less than six minutes to entirely get set up, and after he had done so, he found himself flung into a whole new world.

It caused feelings of both excitement and anxiety to rush through his body.

After a very short delay Takeshi witnessed what he'd call "whiteness incarnate" appear before him in female form. She, of course, was an NPC programmed to guide new players through the Character Customization process that he was now entering. Did anyone actually need a guide for this though? It was fairly self-explanatory, or so he thought. It was always possible that someone, somewhere could have difficulty picking these options.

As Takeshi browsed through the selections, he noticed multiple options for his character's Race. Curious, he decided to check through them to see if he'd prefer any of them.

The human option seemed familiar. The default avatar displayed looked very much like Takeshi himself but had a set of ragged clothes he thought some poor peasant in the middle ages would wear. It had a huge tear down the middle that revealed his chest, that the game decided wasn't attractive enough, so it added some muscle. Takeshi narrowed his eyes. He decided to look at the other options.

Alternate choice number one was the Angel class. His avatar for this class seemed a lot less dirty and had a glow around it, a heavenly shine that made it appear very appealing. But there was a problem with it; it had no shirt. Takeshi moved forwards.

Demon was the next choice. Being a Demon sounded quite bad-ass. Takeshi briefly imagined heavy metal playing as he slayed his foes. The thought was more appetizing than the Angel class, but he figured he had not the personality to play such a class. That, and for some reason the character model for this one seemed like he was trying to seduce himself.... without a shirt.

Next up was the Elf. He immediately noticed that his character model was almost the exact same as the Human model, save for his clothes looking clean and he had pointed ears. And yes, the shirt was open. Somehow, he was not surprised. But he did look further into this class. Elves seemed interesting. The Swordmaster class in particular caught his eyes. High defense and offense? Swords? Perfect, right? He kept this class in mind and moved onto the next.

He noticed the name of the next class. Mermen. It was decided at that moment. Would he become a Human, or an Elf? He thought about this for quite a while, noticing that this NPC hadn't drawn its eyes off of him for even a split second. He shot a glare at her, hoping to get her to molest somebody else with her eyes, but her sight proved true. She would not budge. When he finally gave up, he also made up his mind. He was most familiar with the Human class. He was not here to roleplay, he was here to assist other players when the game turned on them. If history was going to repeat itself, then he was going to help it reach that same conclusion - Players escaping the game.

He moved back onto the Human class, it's figure reappearing. "God, I bet the girls have it better." he mumbled as he read the description. He liked just about everything about the class. It was familiar and it was versatile. He did not have to worry about natural weakness to any elements, and his class would provide him with both the strength and the constitution to best his foes in battle. But there was one thing that disturbed him. The are where Humans reside was much too familiar.

Terra.

Just seeing the name brought back many unpleasant memories from the older VRMMO. It sent a sharp chill down his spine and he paused to take a sharper breath. The pain was almost physical, causing him to faulter just a bit. He nearly could not bring his finger to hit the 'accept' button that hovered just in front of him. But after a few seconds... he calmed down and pressed it, hoping for the best. His race was confirmed as Human, and he was then allowed to edit the appearance of his avatar. It did not take him any longer than a moment to think of what he wanted to look like. He was the same person from ACO appearing to play in Lacrezia. He was not here for leisure. He was here as a personal duty. A familiar blue-haired, blue-eyed avatar was what the Human model transformed into after he was done. Proud of his ability to reform a figure he had not seen a bit of for five years, he pressed 'accept' and continued on.

"What would you like your character to be called?" the white-based NPC asked suddenly, startling Takeshi. After all, she had not spoken since the beginning of the process.

"Light." he spoke.

"I'm sorry, that username has already been taken." it informed him.

"God damnit, again..." Takeshi muttered.

"Please do not attempt to use profanity in your username."

"...Licht?" he asked in a final attempt.

"Your character has been completed! Welcome to the Lacrezia - The Reborn World!"

Takeshi sighed, happy he could at least keep his old username as well. His face then turned into a smile of anticipation for what was to become. As much as he tried to think he was only doing this to protect others, the child that hadn't quite left him from before was reemerging. He couldn't wait to see what challenges awaited him this go. The smirk on his face only grew more. "Well, " he said. "It's about time!"

Licht

Entering Lacrezia after the character customization process, Takeshi found himself located in a city. "Odd..." he thought. He remembered that he started out fighting smaller monsters when he had first arrived in ACO, so he was a bit disappointed that he was just in some city at first. Well, he was not going to get very far if he just stood around, now would he? The young man took off for a location that had been marked on his waypoint.

It did not take much walking to get to it. What he found was just outside the city, a small field full of players and small boar-like creatures. Terra Farmlands appeared at the top of his screen, letting him know what area he was currently standing in. He continued forwards and found a human NPC standing in await for him. As Takeshi approached him, he seemed to smile and begun talking. He informed Takeshi that he would have to retrieve his equipment from the various stores that sold them so that he could begin fighting these 'pesky' boar that roamed the farmlands. With quickened steps, Takeshi got right to finding his equipment, taking a bronze broadsword and some armor he thought'd fit him before venturing off into the middle of the groups of boar. It took longer to level up if you fought them one on one, so he decided to speed the process up. A veteran of the past VRMMORPG, he hadn't really needed to get used to fighting, and boar weren't that difficult to begin with.

Takeshi finished the many beginner quests that pertained to the boar, and had stopped leveling up a while back. The boars just did not give him enough XP anymore, because they were for lower levels. Upset, he headed back towards the city to find a quest with an increased level-cap, as any of the NPCs here gave him useless quests. He walked past all the boars without a worry in the world - none of these could touch him since he was a higher-level AND he was more than skilled enough to deal with this XP fodder. Something caught Takeshi's ear though and he listened in while a message played to all the players of Lacrezia.

"Dear players! To celebrate first day of Lacrezia we prepared a special event. Near all race starting places there will be Field Boss which if defeated will give you a nice amount of money to start out with. We suggest that players who haven't reached level 10 yet restrain from fighting this beast as it is not nearly as easy as monsters you've been fighting until now. Good luck!"

"Oh?" his interest piqued, he turned around. He saw nothing in the fields where the boar roamed and was confused. "Then where the hell.... ?" then it hit him. Didn't he see a few trolls hanging around the area where he had dropped off a package to an NPC for some gold? He wasn't sure how much of the a threat they'd be, and he had gotten so busy with the multiple mini-quests that he had forgotten all about it! Maybe it was there. One could only hope.

Takeshi set out towards the area, noticing the lesser trolls acting aggressive. A few of them even attacked him when he got close enough. They were tougher than the boars, yes, but they weren't strong enough to give Takeshi a real problem. He pressed forth, until he saw one that looked different than all the others. The field bosses' name appeared over its head in a colorful font, indicating its danger and confirming Takeshi's suspicions.

The extra gold in his account, possibility of a decent item drop, AND the experience were all worth going through the other trolls to fight this one. Takeshi was sure it'd be a decent fight, even for someone who knew what he was doing. The thrill of the fight excited him to a degree, and without hesitation, he lunged forwards towards the boss.

...

...

...

"Ah, a bit disappointing. But I guess the first boss would only really be hard to those still wobbly with the controls, right? Can't say it was the easiest fight of my life though, I had to use my health potion." he commented lazily as he walked over to the disappearing corpse of the field boss. It should be clear by now that he was the victor, but losing to the first boss of the game in the first day was not something Takeshi imagined himself doing. He'd really be concerned if he could be defeated with that ease. A message popped up on his screen, showing him his spoils of war. It was just money. "Well I can't complain now, can I?"

'Congratulations, you are Human number 1 to have completed the special event! Keep up the good work and enjoy the wonderful world of Lacrezia!' came the familiar voice of the announcer that had told him about the field boss.

Wow, so I'm the first human? Guess I'm headed on the right track!

Takeshi Matou

Takeshi Matou woke up with an extended yawn the next morning. After defeating the field boss, he bought a better sword, a few health pots, and a slightly better breastplate. While not rolling in the high-dough just yet, it was good that he could afford some early investments into strengthening his character. He'd be one upset person if he was defeated and forced to restart the game all over again. That would have been... well, unpreferable.

The young man walked through his house, still half asleep. Takeshi had gotten used to his schedule, so the first thing he did was stumble his way to his kitchen to make a bowl of cereal. A nice, light breakfast would suffice. He opened the fridge door and that is when he noticed it. The milk was gone. His mouth dropped open at this sudden development. How would he eat his cereal now?! Dry?! What kind of crazy person would do that?! Panic started to overtake rationality and fear spread throughout his own body. He did not know how to deal with this situation. Was this game over? Was his life over? Did he fail...? No, it can't be....

Somehow, someway, his gaze managed to meet an ad for a store that was laying open on the island. He'd have thought nothing of it normally but that's when he saw his saving grace.

"What...?! Milk is on sale?!" tears threatened to flood his eyes as the hope of living his life returned to them. He now had a chance at living life again! He was so happy that he was practically skipping out of the house, but not too fast.

...

...

...

"I got the last two gallons..." he said to himself with a smug look on his face. Someone else had attempted to grab one, but Takeshi gave them a feral look. His intimidation factor was much greater than theirs. Without a word, they had left and Takeshi was the victor, as it should be. Takeshi had also gotten himself a few other things, such as some soft drinks, carrots, and a few frozen dinners in case he was too lazy to make anything for himself. This, of course, was mostly the case so Takeshi often ate the premade meals for dinner.

He was walking casually down a street, minding his own business when he was suddenly struck in the face. But the blow didn't hurt. He recovered rather quickly and pulled this.... thing off his face and glared at it. It was just... white. Paper? He turned it around and noticed that it was actually a flyer for some tournament. "Oho?" Takeshi found interest in it immediately as Lacrezia was mentioned and changed his course from home to the store it came from. As he arrived he was greeted by the shopkeeper.

"Hello, how may I help you?" he asked.

Takeshi held out the flyer. "I'm interested in joining this tournament you have here. This is the place, right?"

"Yes," he smiled. "You have come to the right place. Sign-ups have begun, but the tournament won't until 2. You may sign up and then leave for a bit, but I would ask that you arrive shortly before 2 so that it may get underway quicker." he explained. Takeshi thought briefly about the matter before replying.

"Sounds great, I'll sign up!" he said, taking the registrations from the man and autographing them. "I'll be back soon then."

"Bye." the man said, then turning to tend to other customers.

Once more the young man find himself walking down the street, only this time it was not interrupted by any paper. "Alright then," Takeshi smirked. "Milk, you are mine!"

Takeshi Matou

Takeshi, after devouring his cereal and putting the groceries away, decided to take a nap. He had actually stayed up fairly late last night playing the game to power level as quick as possible. Helping other players would require knowledge and strength in the game and you did not get that from just sitting around. Well, just sitting around in the game anyway. In any case, he was tired and he took the time between breakfast and the tournament to catch up on sleep.

When the young man awoke, he stretched his arms high in the sky as usual and an audible yawn escaped his lips. Had anybody else been in the house, they might've jumped out of their skin, but living alone does have its benefits. Downsides as well, but benefits. He glanced over at his alarm clock, glad he had it. Takeshi used to be known for sleeping in much later than he should, and the noise emitted from this item sure as hell did its job to wake him. He slammed his hand down on the 'snooze' button and then took a shower.

Takeshi quite literally tested the waters as he stuck his hand in the shower.

COLDCOLDCOLDCOLDCOLDCOLDCOLD!!!

He had twisted the wrong setting, so the water was of course ice cold. It was just like a lightswitch - you never really remembered the difference between the fan and the light. But, experienced, he only sacrificed his arm to the shower. Soon, it gradually became warmer and warmer, on the brink of scolding hot. Takeshi enjoyed warmer settings, and not like other people. If the water wasn't REALLY hot, it wasn't as enjoyable. When it was finally to his liking, the young man stepped into the shower and begun cleaning himself off.

...

...

...

"Ah~ That was so nice~!" he nearly sung. Showers were always so refreshing! Now he was ready to take on the final boss of a dungeon, or his angry boss! Well, actually he had no reason to speak to his boss today, so he could screw around today, hence the card tournament. Now that he was thinking about it... did he even know what they were doing? If it was something like Poker, Old Maid, or Blackjack then he could play without worry, but card games weren't really his cup of tea unless they were on motorcycles. "Well, no use in worrying about it now." he said as he headed out his door to go to the store. By now, he should have little over 30 minutes before 2pm.

The store seemed a great deal more lively than when he had been there earlier. He could hear people conversing from feet from the door and there was a man reading a newspaper just outside on a bench. Takeshi continued forth to enter the store as he turned his head back to face where he was going. It turns out that Takeshi had lept before he looked and clumsily bumped into something.

"Eh?" he glanced around. He didn't see anythi----

His eye caught sight of black hair just at the bottom of his peripheral vision. He had bumped into a person, yet this person was small enough that he did not actually see her until he moved his eyes downward by a tad bit. "Oh," he said. "I'm sorry, I was being dumb and wasn't paying attention. Are you okay?" he asked, looking past her. Strange. Nobody's with her? He couldn't see anybody who appeared to be with her. Well, maybe her parents were inside and she was meeting up with them. Takeshi was about to open his mouth to make a comment about if she knew where her parents were, when, unbeknownst to him, the storeowner had saved his life by making an announcement.

"Please all participants get ready for the tournament! We will announce the rules of game and match-ups after 15 minutes!" came a voice from a megaphone.

Well, seems I got here a bit early. Well, better that then late.

Ayana was quite interested in finding out who her opponent would be, she just hoped it wouldn't be some overconfident loser who would go down in the first five turns. And it looked like there wasn't many people here that didn't fit that description, 'This is going to be so lame, might as well get this done and over with even though it won't take much effort at all..' she though as she scanned over the competition once more with a disappointed look on her face. While she was lost in her own thoughts she caught wind of some of the conversation going on around her. A lot of people were talking about how this was going too easy and they wouldn't even break a sweat.

There were also quite a few people actually talking about her, making naive comments about why the store owner aloud such a young person to enter the contest and how she wouldn't even last the first turn. Unbeknownst to most of them, they were being misled by her appearance. She didn't pay attention to most of their remarks and just blocked them out. She soon felt a slight nudge from behind her, and quickly glanced. She was able to see a young man, well over her own height with golden hair. It seemed that the boy had accidentally bumped into her, so she just ignored him, refusing to make any unnecessary communication with him.

Soon enough the first match-ups were announced and it seems that she would be going up against the girl that she saw earlier. 'Hopefully this won't be a disappointing match-up' she thought as she pulled chose a random card deck, she did have experience with the card game in her earlier years and she just hoped that she could remember how to remotely play the game correctly. If she knew that this was the card game that they would be playing she probably would've brought her owned customized deck of cards.

She glanced through her cards and was quite pleased with what she had in her deck. She then swiftly shuffled the deck and placed it down "Alright then, how about you go first?".

"Great, I get to be one of those weirdos that sat in the back of the class and played cards," Akira deadpanned. "Not so fast, you've activated my trap card..." Akira continued to joke, this time so that he wouldn't be tempted to say it in the middle of a card game. He has slipped back into the shop when the announcer began to announce the rules. He flipped his cigarette into the street and left the newspaper on the bench. He wouldn't need it in here.

His first opponent? Takeshi Matou. He had no idea who the dude was. AKira could do little else beside scan the shop and look for a fellow or looked vaguely Takeshi-like. Unsurprisingly, with so little details he wasn't able to find the guy. With little else to do, Akira walked toward the announcer to receive his deck. There were a few to choose from, only with a single image on the front to set one apart from the other. Feeling particularly lucky, Akira simply closed his eyes and grabbed one randomly. In his hands

"Hmm," Akira hummed as he examined his deck. The image was that of a sea monster. He was about the choke on the coincidence. Sifting through his cards, he dully noted that the entire deck was water based. Luck of the draw indeed. However, there was one undeniably good thing about the deck. "At least there's no Wrathful Jelly in this one," He said, chuckling to himself. Pocketing the deck-- and grabbing a rule book on his way.

He found the designating dueling area (a name which made him cringe) and took a seat at one of the dueling tables (this one almost made him vomit) and began shuffling his deck while waiting for him opponent. Other than the cringing playing at his face, he seemed relatively calm. Why wouldn't he? It was just a card game, it wasn't like his soul was going to get sucked into a nether realm if he lost. He wasn't going to take it too seriously. That didn't mean he wasn't going to try his damnedest to win-- he wasn't a loser.

Takeshi Matou

"Oh hey, I remember this game from a while ago!" Takeshi chuckled to himself, remembering some of his memories with a few of his friends. It was almost a shame he never got really good at the game, as he was more of an outside person, but there was nothing he could do about it now. At the very least, he wouldn't have the hardest time getting used to it again. "Now... Akira Kishiko...." he looked around, attempting to spot that someone. Of course, not knowing what he looked like, Takeshi had no real way to tell if he did find the person. Yet, his eyes locked onto the well-dressed man that had been sitting outside earlier. He walked up to the announcer and picked a deck, then headed to the dueling area.

The young man figured that was his opponent and wore a smile. He was probably really smart, or at least knew how to play this game too! He didn't look nervous or display any other signs of a lack of self-confidence, though his face was occasionally switching every now and then, for whatever reason. That didn't really concern Takeshi at the moment.

"I'll take...." he glanced at the decks. There was no real way to tell what was inside of them, save for the picture on the top of the deck. Deciding it did not really matter which one he chose, he picked one with a dragon for the picture, grabbed a rule book, and continued over to his table, where Akira Kishiko was sitting. As he sat, he glanced through his deck briefly, revealing he had a deck based on the element of Light. How fitting. He held the urge to laugh in his stomach and then moved his attention from his deck to his opponent. "I hope you'll forgive me. I haven't played this in... seven or so years, so I might not put up much of a fight. Either way, good luck."

Takeshi, of course, was wearing quite the confident smile as he spoke, most likely dashing any chance of someone believing he did not have much confidence in his own ability to play the game. But that's just because he could wear a great false smile. "Still... how fun it is that the Warrior of Light got a Light-based deck..." he mumbled to himself, just loud enough for someone to hear if they were actively paying attention.

Takeshi played his first card face-down to begin the game, simply smiling in response. He wasn't going to wait for his opponent. If he was going to win, or at least put up a fight, he'd need to be proactive!

"I hope you shuffled that first," Akira said, pointing at the man's deck. If he was upset at all that this Takeshi, he didn't let it show on his face. Because in all honesty, Akira wasn't. He was pleasantly surprised. They could forgo the coin-toss and dive right into the monster battle. He wanted to go second, so that he could watch his opponent make the first move and go from there. For the day that he played around in Lacrezia, it looked like Solstice had managed to rub off on his player. Patient hunter and all that jazz.

Akira finished shuffling his deck with an unnecessary flourish and then placed it in it's respective spot on the mat. Next he drew his hand, each card popping off the deck with an audible snap. Akira was trying his best to make the card game cool, dammit. He looked over the cards he drew, reading their effects, and weighing the strength and weaknesses in his mind. Feeling okay with what he drew, he picked the first card out of his hand and showed it to his opponent.

"And a water deck for the Merman," Akira revealed, placing A Legendary Ocean into the designated field area, turning the entire table into his own underwater wonderland. Otherwise, he simply put down a pair of face-down cards on his field, one in the spell field and one in the monster field. He was still testing his opponent, there was a time and a place for attacking. However, this tactic made the first couple of round boring as hell.

Sighing, Akira figured he could try and strike up something of a conversation. If only to be polite. "So, Lacrezia, huh?" He offered simply.

Takeshi Matou

Takeshi smiled as he drew a card from his deck to his hand. "Can't really trust that game now, can we?" he asked as he looked at his cards. Not being much of a card player, he really did not know exactly how to set this up to win. Oh well. He pondered what sounded good and placed a facedown spell card onto the field, now having a monster in the face-down position with some support from his new card.

He hadn't attempted to be flamboyant in the least during the card game. Whether this was because he just didn't know how or did not feel like there was a reason to remains to be seen. He gave another glance over his cards to see what he had. There was a trap card in his possession as well as a couple of monsters, one being too high-ranked to summon at the moment. It also happened to look a lot like the monster he slew to acquire Hope's Edge in ACO, which brought up a small chuckle from his heart. He finally turned to his opponent.

"Guess people really want these VRMMOs to work out, what with them ignoring the ACO incident." he ended his turn as he said this. "Either way, I guess I can't just sit back and do nothing. If something happens, a veteran of such an incident will help things along much faster, I'm sure."

((Yeah, sorry, not much I can post DX))

The match turned out to be really fierce as Jeanne's opponent obviously was no amateur in games. At first brunette tried to lure Shizuka into her traps, but she always managed to dodge them and then counterattack with some powerful magic effects. Seeing as trap strategy didn't work, Jeanne tried to weaken Shizuka's monster power however girl managed to avoid that too. In the Jeanne went with her classic strategy which of course is brute strength. She summoned Jeweled Red Dragon Archfiend, destroyed any monsters that overpowered it and just struck Shizuka until she had no more life points left. It was a close call though, because Jeanne herself had only 300 Life Points left.

"That was a good match," Jeanne said after a match and offered her hand for handshake. She has recognized girl's skills and honestly she hoped that maybe someday she could fight side by side with her in Lacrezia. They would surely make a good team.

"Since you won the match you will now have to wait until other players finish their first rounds. After that you will be whoever the winner will be in group A. If you wish you can observe their match," said game organizer after Jeanne had finished her round. She certainly was curious to find out about her opponent, so she decided to do what organizer had suggested. And it's a good thing she did, because the guy she will be facing definitely is one of those few players who actually knows what they are doing. One of them was golden-haired guy who somehow reeked of positive energy. Jeanne wasn't quite sure if she liked it or not. The other was the same guy she saw earlier sitting on bench. Match was rather intense, so brunette was curious to see which one of them will she face.

"What else do you expect?" Akira asked aloofly. He too drew another card from his deck, and examined it a bit before taking another look at the field. "People want an escape, even if it tries to suck their brains out of their heads," Akira said, taking a glance up at Takeshi. He ignored the man's comment about a veteran coming in to save the day. That was an idealist belief, thinking one could just swoop in and be the savior everyone needed. Far too serious for his own tastes. "People will do odd things just to try and forget about their lives, even for just a moment."

The hypocrisy was lost entirely on Akira. That was exactly why he dove headfirst into the Virtual Glass. He wanted to forget his hum-drum everyday and be something more than an average ordinary (though nicely dress) guy. Everyone believed that they'd could be the biggest badass in the world if just the right conditions were made, and Akira was no different. There was seeds of grandeur planted in his own brain. Like every man and boy, he believed that if placed in the same situations that he would be the one to rise up and be the savior. Those seeds were hidden deep within the wrinkles in his mind though, covered in a deep layer of immature logic and silly antics.

Akira dropped his hand to the table and summoned what seemed to be a mermaid type creature, and prepared to attack. Two turns had been long enough to lay out his trap, and next came the cunning hunter's spear. "The thing has been tested to be completely safe," Akira hummed, "The guardians wouldn't let it see the light of day if there was even a possibility of a repeat."

At that, a grin spread across Akira's face, "But let's not worry about that, heart of the cards and all that stuff," He said, finally engaging in some offense in his cards. With that, Akira stopped trying to go for casual small talk and began to try and win the game. Time passed, and Akira became aware that they were one of the last pairs to still dueling-- Takeshi proved to be a pretty good opponent. Akira kept on his toes, and cultivated the mindset he acquired when playing Solstice. Akira was a slippery opponent, relying on his traps and effects of his monster than the monsters themselves. In the end, his lateral thinking won him the day-- if just barely.

When it was all said and done, Akira couldn't help but be fond of the challenge. When the last card was flipped, Akira stood and stretched his hand out in acknowledgement. "G.G, bro. G.G," Akira offered through a grin. With that, Akira began to wonder who his next opponent was, and if they all were going to be as difficult at Takeshi proved to be.

"Heh, that was a great win," Jeanne congratulated man named Akira (as she found out while watching the match) and grinned. "However if you want to win the next match, I suggest you don't give your opponent so many openings to strike."

With that comment Jeanne took her deck and headed towards the table where she would duel Akira. Although that was nothing more than a strategy to throw him off balance. Dude, actually barely left any openings at all, so she had to distract him somehow to win. Obviously her pure power strategy ain't going to work here. Honestly, this man somehow radiated this powerful and confident aura, that could even make her feel weak. That doesn't mean she will just give up without a fight. If brunette is bound to lose then she will make sure to cause as much trouble as possible for this man.

"Let's hope that in Lacrezia we will fight together not against each other," Jeanne said at beginning of match and shuffled her deck.

Ayana was slightly pissed about the way the lost, though she made sure that she wouldn't be beaten by the same thing twice when she faced her next opponent. She completely set on winning her next match now that she had gotten the hang of the game.

Whenever her old opponent extended her hand for a hand shake, she reluctantly shook it, trying not to seem rude. After that she decided to watch the other match up that had been announced. They two men battling both looked like fine opponents but she could see where both of them had made there mistakes in that match-up. In the end the well dressed man had won the match and the young man with golden lost. She honestly wasn't that surprised that he lost against the other guy. She started to glance at her cards again trying to figure out what would go best with what, already getting ready for her next match with Takeshi.

Takeshi Matou

There were a lot more mistakes Takeshi made at the start of the match than there was further in. Takeshi was trying to remember the strategy that his friend would use that set him up for an almost-uncounterable win. After a majority of the battle, he did, in fact, remember how to set himself up for this win, but it had been much too late, for it was a strategy best started early in the match. He did his best to play by ear, but there had been too many well-placed trap cards that had either wiped out the strong monsters he was able to summon, or had prevented him from directly striking a man's lifepoints In the end, it was his opponent who had seized victory, but Takeshi did managed to put up a big enough fight. And, of course, this was probably the most fun he'd had with a card game in quite some time. The blonde-haired man simply smiled at his defeat, more aware of the fun he had than the loss he had suffered.

He shook the hand of the well-dressed victor and grinned. "Good game indeed." he said as they parted. He still had another game against... the child. Or, well, to be honest, she seemed to hold herself up higher than a child would. Almost like a young adult in a child's body. Well, this was what he got from watching the beginning of her match, before his own started. Either way, he knew not to underestimate her. Her match ended up being a close one like Takeshi's, so she'd probably come at Takeshi with enough power to redeem her loss. This, however, excited the young man. Maybe not as much as a fight in Lacrezia would, but still, Takeshi had always been competitive.

The manager led Takeshi and his new opponent to a separate table, where they'd do battle. Takeshi took his seat, glancing through his deck and taking note of what cards he needed to play and in what order to get his victory assured. Obviously, he enjoyed the challenge much more than he did the reward, but that did not mean he was not going to give his all to win. Winning was fun too. This match, however, Takeshi decided that he would not play his cards first, and shuffled them before placing them down and waiting for his opponent to be ready.

Seeing as her new opponent hadn't made the first move, she decided that she was going to start them off. She pulled three cards from her deck and eyed them carefully. She placed one trap card, a monster in attack position and a monster in defense position. She wasn't going to make any risky moves yet until she could guarantee that she was going to win the match. She figured that since he had seen her other match that he wasn't going to let her win easily, but that was all fine with her. She wasn't going to go full on try-hard mode, but she wasn't going to let him win with out a fight either. If there was even a centimeter of him that still underestimated her because of her appearance then she knew that this match would be over before it even truly started.

She wasn't exactly focused on winning the match, honestly, she could care less if you won or not. She joined simply for the sheer fun of the challenge, the unique item prize didn't mean anything to her at all."So why did you join this tournement anyways? or was it just for the prize?" she asked as she ended her turn.

Takeshi Matou

Takeshi's first move had been mostly defensive as well. He took a monster card from his hand and placed it face-up in attack position. Next, he placed a trap and a spell card both down on the field, face-down. He then decided to make the monster card he had attack the card in defense mode, as his card had the same offensive stats as her other card, thus making an attack on it worthless. This completed the turn.

"Hmm..." he pondered the question she threw at him, wondering how he should answer. Thinking of a suitable response, he then smiled and spoke. "The promise of a prize for Lacrezia inspired me to join the tournament, but not to get the prize itself. I just wanted to see how people were outside of the game." he explained, continuing with, "And, so far, it was worth it. After all, I had fun last match, even if I did lose. I figure the prize to be more aesthetic than anything, so I don't mind losing as long as the challenge is great.

"How about yourself? You don't look like you are going to let me win so easy~

"You're right, I won't let you win easily and I hope you do the same" Ayana said in a calm and soft voice, but one could tell that her words were laced with power and intimidation. She then pulled out two monsters cards, eyed them carefully and then put both of them into defense mode. "To put it simply, I joined the tournament after hearing about it. I could care less if it wasn't challenging or if the prize was a unique item, I just didn't have much to do so I figured that I would join. Besides, it turned out to be much better then sitting at home doing nothing." she stated as she waited for her opponent to finish his turn.

"Honestly, a lot of the people here don't look like they'ed by too strong in game. Either their one of those try-hards to want to look totally bad-ass on focus on nothing but that or try to be one of those cliché saviors who wants to help everyone succeed in the game and end up getting screwed over sooner or later"

Takeshi Matou

"That's good. I wouldn't be satisfied with a victory I didn't earn." Takeshi replied in a tone mostly opposite of the girl's. She sought to seem intimidating and strong, whereas he came off more gentle, warm, but most of all he sounded cocky. One could reason it was just to get her to madly rush in, but his tone sounded more genuine than that. However, as he listened to her reasoning for joining the tournament, his tone changed dramatically.

"So you joined out of pure boredom?" he questioned, almost as a police officer would a criminal. But, as quickly as that expression came, it changed to another smile as he thought of something. "Then why don't we hook up?" and were one looking at his face, they could see the very moment that his innocent and kind smile turned to... well, an embarrassed look as he realized what he implied. "Oh... erm... well, I mean in the game that is. If you're up for it, I could use someone to party up with in case I get into too much heat...."

That was a bit too awkward...

*Cough*

After clearing his throat, and to hopefully ease the atmosphere of the situation, Takeshi played his spell card, turning to field to a heaven-like setting, which of course raised the stats on his own, light-based monsters. The increase gave Takeshi's face-up monster just enough to destroy her own face-up monster that was in attack position, so he decided that he would attack it. But before that, he placed one monster face-down in defense mode.

Ayana chuckled as her opponents expression changed from an kind smile into a rather embarrassed expression, "Yeah, that would be nice and all but it may prove to be a problem considering that I'm a demon and you can't traverse other realms until you reach level twenty. So it would a great deal of time until we actually meet up with each other". After Takeshi had finished his turn she used her one of her monsters that was faced upwards and attacked his, wiping it out. The match continued to go back and forth, until finally Ayana won. It was surely a close call, seeing as she only had 100 life points left. "Well that was a good match, definitely a close one as well" she stated. Ayana then got her prize and started back home.

She didn't bother opening her prize and just put it on the kitchen counter. Besides, she couldn't use it anyways because she had lost the Virtual Glasses somewhere in her mess of a room and she probably wasn't going to find it anytime soon so what would be the point in opening it. She decided that she would at least try to look for it, all she could remember though was that she put it in some place that even she could find it and that was about it. It took quite some time and at the cost of almost tearing her room in half she managed to find it.

Even then she decided not to open the prize that she had gotten from coming third place in the tournament she wanted to level up without anything helping her out, even relatively longer. She then logged onto Lacrezia she bought about 25 HP potions and then got straight to the grinding. After an extremely long time, approximately 6 hours, she managed to get to level 20 though not without the cost of about 50 HP potions, 75% of her gold and a lot of near death experiences but she manged it. Though the thing that really kept her going was the skill that she get from reaching level 20. Yes, the skill to transform into a demon and she get exactly what she wanted.

"Congrats, you've reached level 20 and you've also gained the skill to transform into a demon. Note that this has a 20 minute cool down and you will not be able to use it for quite sometime"

Though she completely disowned that message and went to find a boss to test out her new found ability.

Licht

Takeshi walked through the front door of his small abode and closed the door behind him. After locking it, the young man sighed and thought about what he had to do today. It was, after all, his break, so the only real thing he could do now was play Lacrezia. Most of his friends had jobs and things to do, so he could not simply just go hang out with them or anything. Well, he did decide to get this game so that he could help other people, and he had slacked off in that regard while playing in that tournament, so he might as well get his ass into gear and start it up for the day.

He moved over to his room where the Virtual Glasses lay out in the open, all hooked up and ready to be used. For a second, he recalled the first time he had ever put one of these on in ACO. Nostalgia, disgust, anger, happiness, sadness and many emotions made that memory stick to him. In response to all of this, Takeshi just simply sighed and smiled at it, choosing to remember the good that came out of all of that. He met people like The Voice of Treason, like Canon, like Refa and even Kahlan (Although she was kinda pissed at him due to the whole Hope's Edge incident). But they were all good people who made him see reason. They all had a reason to get out of some fake world and back to the real world, whereas Takeshi was too immature and naive to actually deal with his problems in real life. He ran away from all that by going here, and when it was made to be impossible to leave almost, he decided to count himself lucky. But these people showed him the way forward, and he eventually grew up.

Licht became active after he put the glasses on and delved into the mysterious and beautiful world of Lacrezia. He briefly wondered what he should do right now. He did give that young woman his username before she left. Their battle in the card tournament was certainly exciting up until the very last moment, so he definitely would be happy if they could meet up and do quests and the sort. Ah, but that reminded him....

"Yeah, that would be nice and all but it may prove to be a problem considering that I'm a demon and you can't traverse other realms until you reach level twenty. So it would a great deal of time until we actually meet up with each other"

Guess he'd have to wait until he was at the very least level 20 before they could meet up here. Well, that gave him some real motivation to get leveling up. It wouldn't take too long considering he was already over level 10. He decided that he would go complete quests. While not as fast as simply finding a real strong camp of monsters and defeating it over and over again, it did offer him the benefit of more gold, items, and progress through the local story of the area he was in.

...

...

...

It had been around 6 or so hours when Licht had hit the twentieth level. This was, of course, due to choosing a slower method, so even though he might have been, at the time, a higher level than some of his other fellow players of relevance, he probably hit it the same time as they did because of the quest method. But to show for it, he did have a lot of spare gold to spend on new items and the moderate amount of health potions he had used to deal with the monsters he fought.

Congratulations young adventurer! You have reached level 20!

Well, he did have the ability to get to the other realms now. But other than that, level 20 felt no different than any other level. No new skills or anything. It was a bit disappointing. He'd earned some skills over the first twenty levels. He had a counter attack move, a thrust, and a move where he lept into the sky before crashing down on his opponent that, as of now, sounded more awesome than it really was. He gained an active ability that let him evade a great deal of things as well. It was odd considering he had seen a few people of his same class with considerably less and different abilities than he had, and there was nowhere you just bought skills that he was aware of. Something felt odd.

Veteran of adventures, we present to you one free item box as thanks for your duties!

"Veteran of adventures... ?" Licht wasn't sure what that meant. Did that mean he was getting something from doing quests or... maybe from being a part of Antiva Chronus Online...? No, impossible. He probably just did enough quests to activate something. That had to be it. He noticed something in his inventory.

It was a box, simply labeled 'Mystery Box'. It was simple enough. Until he opened it, he would not know what was in this said box. Of course, he was now a bit nervous to see what would happen. He was just given it for free by the game itself with a message that did arouse a bit of suspicion. But... well, he had no actual reason to not open it right? He pressed 'open' and in a flash of light, the item was now in his hand.

At first, Licht could not recognize this item as a sword. It's odd shape that formed due to the many small angels that appeared to be melted into the blade made it hard to distinguish this as a weapon and not a gruesome decoration. Each of the unfortunate messengers of god looked as though they had perished in only the most brutal and barbaric of ways, the few distinguishable faces you could make out were twisted in horror and agony as they had probably realized they were going to die in but the worst ways imaginable. It was nearly a plain obsidian color save for the creepy eyes that appeared on the upper half of the blade, just reaching the halo at the tip of the blade. It is only after you can look past the gruesomeness of the design that you can see the resemblance of a blade, and it certainly did not appear as if it would be sharp enough to be effective. Was it even a real weapon?

Takeshi nearly bowed over to puke as a surge of power ran through his virtual body, emitted from the blade itself. He continued observing the thing, and he noticed that a blank eye closer to the hilt was acting erratically. Suddenly, a green pupil appeared inside of it and... and it moved. It locked onto him. Terrified, he attempted to drop the blade. But it wouldn't let him!

What is this? I don't want it! Let me go! Let me go! Let me go! Let me go! Let me go! Let me go! Let me go! Let me go! Let me go! Let me go! Let me go! Let me go! Let me go! Let me go! Let me go! Let me go! Let me go! Let me go! Let me go! Let me go! Let me go! Let me go! Let me go! Let me go! Let me go! Let me go! Let me go! Let me go! Let me go! Let me go!

He'd never been so scared before, and his heart was racing faster than he thought possible. He wanted out, away, far from this abomination in his hand he couldn't let go of, but it would not let him escape. If somebody were there watching him that was recently acquainted with the young man, they'd be hard-pressed to recognize him. He was sweating, his eyes darting every which way at once and his whole body trembling. He had no real sense of sanity at this given moment. The only thing he could comprehend was "I want to get away, I need to get away!" and it repeated many times in his head, and in intelligible mumbling. Soon enough, his body grew too weak to fidget any longer and he collapsed on the ground.

.... Huh?

Licht's body showed signs of movement after an hour in-game time on the floor. He had not been attacked, he had no lost his progress, and he was still here so that meant he did not die. So he must've fainted. He looked at his right hand and the blade, that sickening and cruel blade... it was still there. A voice snapped him out of his drowsiness.

Item obtained: Angelic Halo!

New skills obtained!

"Angelic Halo?" he muttered the name in curiosity. Was this blade meant to harm angels? In that case, would that mean that this is the equivalent of a dark version of Hope's Edge? And why did he have it? Was he supposed to use the power of darkness now? What kind of sick joke was this?! He sighed in defeat. He knew that this was only the beginning. If this was given to him in recognization of his past adventure in ACO, then he surely was in for some more fun. "I guess I'll take it, then. This blade of evil shall be used to cut down enemies of justice."
