Mary sighed...

"This time Mary use more Bravado said her mother.

"Mother this is the fourth time we've gone over this piece today can't I take a break" she said as the sound of children's feet running down the hallway went by.

Her mother looked and say the pleading in her eyes, they had been working hard on this piece because Mary would playing for a banquet in her father's honor.

"Alright I tell you what dear, the Briar's are having a new baby possibly today and the other ladies at the church decided to bring them meals to help till Lydon's wife had recovered from the birth. I was going to bring it myself but seeing as you want something to do you can walk it down to them" said her mother setting her baton aside.

Mary smiled big "Yes, Mama of course I'd love to do that" she said excitedly. The truth was she just really wanted to get out of the house, she spent hours a day practicing and it was starting to drain on her. On top of that her father had been pressuring her to find a husband, he had chose to give her a chance to find her own husband...at first. But if she wasn't engaged to be married by her next birthday he would choose for her, this frightened her because he would probably choose a man much older then Mary wanted to be with.

She followed her mother to the kitchen, was handed a homemade casserole and a fresh backed loaf of bread her mother kissed her one the cheek and sent her on her way. The food packed into a wicker basket she walked down the sidewalk, she found herself very close to the Andrew's home, her father was good friends with Mr. Andrews even though there weren't the wealthiest family in town, her father was like that even though they were quite wealthy he never let it get to his head. She was friends with a few of the Andrew's girls and then there was Stephen. The only boy in the lot, a kind young man who was polite yet a little shy.

She passed the front gate as a group of guards ran by, "They must be looking for someone" she thought aloud as she tucked a piece of hair behind her ear. The guards frightened her, she had never liked them because she had heard rumors of what they do to people especially women. Her father had told her they were just rumors but she wasn't too sure about that. She glanced at the Andrew's house to see Stephen sitting out on the front step whittling, she smiled and waived a shyly he had grown quite handsome over the years. She could remember playing tag with him and his sisters when they were younger, but it had been some time since she had been there. Music had become her life once her mother found she had a talent for it...

"Hello Stephen how are you this fine afternoon" she said with a smile.

I looked at her. "But, Brooklyn, this time it IS possible!" I took her hand in mine. "Amanda said she'll help us if we help her. Wouldn't you love to get out, see the lower states, fall in love, live somewhere else? Besides, I thought you said the Pagans had the right idea," I smiled, knowing that something I said MUST convince her. "Brooklyn, please, I can't leave without you. If we will leave, we must go tonight. You are my best and dearest friend, and I need you to come with me," I looked at her, pleading with my eyes.
I could tell Amanda was growing impatient, and I stood. "We'll meet you here, tonight at moon high, if you want to come," I smile down at her. "Try not to attract to much attention if you do come. And avoid the Rubedo house, you know that little Mary is a tattle and if she sees you, she'll wake the guards," I turned and Amanda and I left. "I hope she comes with us," I whisper to her, looking down. "She'll be forced to tell where we've gone otherwise."

Amanda pulled the cloaks hood farther over her eyes and nodded, "That would not be good. We must think of an alternative place to meet if she does tell." Amanda said calmly, catching the eye of whistling boy and a girl with long black hair as they walked down the street. "I look to suspicious." she thought, letting out a heavy sigh before hesitantly removing her feathers and beads from her hair, along if the gold clip that kept her hair wrapped up in a tribal fashion before she removed the hood from around her her head. Her white hair falling lightly over her shoulders as she did so. "I think... it would be best.....if i disguised myself until tonight." She whispered, remembering the girls offer to wear one of her dresses. She cringed, she already felt odd wearing her hair down in public, especially without her feathers and beads in her hair.

Malkolm listened to the gravel crunch under his feet as he walked down the street of Plyg. He fumble if his scarf, make more hole in it out of frustration as he argued with Demos. His armor made an all to familiar clink sound with each step he took and he tried to focus on that instead of screaming Demos in his head. He was failing until he ran into someone, both falling over, a casserole dish and a loaf of bread flying into the air. Malkolm quickly stood up and caught the items before the hit the ground and turned his attention the the girl with long black hair that he just knocked over. "I-I'm so S-sorry. i didn't see you. i was being foolish and focusing on the ground. Let me help you up." he said, extending a hand towards the falling girl. "Just leave her, i bet she was the one that walked into you. you should teach her a lesson." Demos hissed harshly. Malkolm just pushed Demos to the farthest corners of his mind with as much mental strength he had. This was no time to deal with "him."

Abe blinked at the question that was asked of him, it was true he did have the key to the church but it wasn't cause he was allowed to. Then the girl with the white hair spoke

"It would be most pleasing if you could, easpa.....I mean, bishop." she said

He had heard that language before had even read it now he knew why the guards were on alert today. He smiled as the girls walked away.

"They're trying to keep it secret but I know what they're up to can't say I blame them" he said quietly. "What am I talking about this is the perfect chance for me to get away from all of this. To finally do something for myself, and totally piss my father off and the people would loose confidence in their venerable Bishop if his own son ran off to join the Pagans" he thought to himself.

"This is perfect" he said as he went to prepare for the trip of his life.

Mary was waiting for a response when she was plowed into by someone, she watched in horror as the basket she was holding went flying through the air.

"Oh no!" she cried

But she watched as the man that had run into her caught it with ease, nothing spilled and Mary sat there with her mouth agape with shock.

"I-I'm so S-sorry. i didn't see you. i was being foolish and focusing on the ground. Let me help you up." he said reaching out his hand to help her up.

She took the offered hand and stood up "T...thank you" she said shyly, he was older but only by a few years and he had a shock of white hair and amber colored eyes. Very exotic looking to say the least.

Amanda had gone to Brooklyn's house and slipped a note int her room telling where they were meeting before heading to the church herself. When she saw Abel she went to pull her hood down until she heard him say he was coming. She was shocked. She removed her hood to get a better look at him, "you can come if we can trust you. now we have to hurry." she said, listening carefully for any other noise. Her golden eyes glowing as she looked Abel over.

Malkolm shook his head, "No need to thank me, I-it was my fault anyways." he said as she brushed herself off. "If there is anything i can do to make it up to, just tell me. I'm stationed here for a while." he said, handing her back the dish and loaf of bread. He looked a the sky, "It's getting dark." he thought to himself, looking back down at the girl. "W-would you mind if I-i walked you to your destination. I-it is getting very dark." he said, fumbling with his scarf.
