Personality: When by himself, he is rather quiet and inquisitive. He likes to spend that time when he does not have any orders to view the world. To him, there are just so many interesting and unknown things in it. When not exploring and investigating the world, he likes to take time just to sit and think. When he is with his allies, he tries to interact with them. However, most times they don’t enjoy his pestering so he keeps to himself if they respond negatively. When he is given an order, he is solemn and serious. Focusing on nothing else. When in battle, his fierce and full of rage. He will crush, kill, and destroy anything in his path no matter what it might be. This usually lets him vent the pent up rage he has against the kingdom and its citizens.
History: He remembers how he came into the world very clearly. It was sudden, strange, and very eventful. He was created by a mage that lived in a cave little ways from a small town in the kingdom. The mage had grown up apart from the village, and had been shunned by it for his ambitious practices. He thought that if he grew in power, he could rule over them and then they would accept him. He found the method of creating Vashrhalg from a strange and ancient tome.
Before he could finish however, some people in the town discovered what he was doing and assaulted his cave. The mage was barely able to finish in time as they made their way inside. When Vashrhalg came to be, the villagers had just entered the main part and were about to confront the mage. When they saw the massive and powerful looking golem come to life, they attacked instantaneously out of fear. The first thing that Vashrhalg came to experience in his life was people trying to kill him. After a few pitiful attempts by the villagers to bring the golem down, he learned from their killing intent and mimicked it at them. They were easily slaughtered. When he turned to the mage to kill him too, something was different. The mage gave off an aura of happiness, which Vashrhalg also mimicked and did not attack him. The name gave him a name Vashrhalg, it was something from the spell that brought him to life.
Over then next few months, Vashrhalg bonded with the mage. To him, the mage was the golem’s father and he would do anything to please the man. He guarded his father with his life. They went out and picked ingredients, he helped him lift heavy things, and his father even taught him the language of the land so that Vashrhalg could understand specific instructions. Though the golem seemed to understand what the mage was saying, he couldn’t seem to form the words himself. There was only word that the golem could seem to make the sounds to form, and that was his name. This didn’t seem to strain their relationship though and they were very close.
However, the happy times only lasted for about a year and a half. The kingdom had gotten wind of an evil mage and a fierce monster living near one of its towns. They eventually sent a small regiment of troops to deal with the problem. When the troops arrived, Vashrhalg tried to hold them off and keep them away from his father, but there were just too many. The mage was slain, and Vashrhalg flew into a rage. He slew the rest of the regiment mercilessly, even when a few tried to escape. For a while Vashrhalg simply sat in the cave, mourning the death of his father and wondering what he should do now. Eventually he remembered that his father had told him about the town and their disdain for him. Vashrhalg deduced that the soldiers had come from the town.
He ripped through the town like a calamity, destroying everything and slaying many of the citizens. Then he simply sat at the village center, not knowing what to do. A few days later, a very large company of soldiers descended upon him. He killed many, but eventually he was forced to run or he would have been overcome. He escaped from the small army after three days of constant battle and retreat.
For a while he simply wandered around, not knowing what to do with himself. His father, had always been the one to tell him what to do. A few times he met with more soldiers, but no large groups like from before. After a while he began to notice them yelling things like “For the Kingdom!” or “For the Queen!”. Vashrhalg began to view this “Kingdom” and this “Queen” as the cause of his father’s death. So he sought out their enemies and joined with their ranks.
