Setting
Oliver was currently walking home from a busy day at work. He let out a loud, tired yawn. Today had been busier than usual, which is quite strange, considering the restaurant he works at is always empty. The food was great and everything was spick and span, the only problem was the location, behind another restaurant! "Whoever chosen to put the business behind another one is a utterly an idiot..." He mumbled to himself.
As he was passing the empty streets, he noticed a young woman who was moving quite strangely. She was quite beautiful, causing Oliver to blush. He couldn't help but notice the woman struggling with walking, and made his way over to her. "Ma'am, are you alright?" He asked in a concerned tone.
I straightened myself up and nodded slowly, careful not to make any quick movements that would cause the dizziness to worsen. "I'm fine.."
Oliver frowned, he could of sworn he saw her having trouble walking. He had his theories about what could be wrong with her, now he can put them to the test. Oliver took in a deep breath and exhaled soon after. Yep, this woman wasn't sober.
"Well, I'm afraid I don't believe you. You can argue that it's none of my business, but now that I'm involved, it is." He said its a sigh.
"Fine. I'm a crazy drunk, big whoop," I uttered sloppily. I felt nauseated, and wanted to go somewhere before I puked out in public. This guy's interrogation wasn't making it easy.
"I knew it." He replied, gazing back into her eyes. He shifted his weight to his left leg and thought for a moment. "... Here, let me help you." He gestured behind him. "I don't have my motorcycle right now, but I'll go fetch it really quick." He said with a gentle smile.
"However, I do not want you to wait here all alone. It's not that far of a walk, I think you'll make it. I know it's hard to trust a stranger's word, but..." He scratched the back of his head, he ran out of things to say. "... So, what do you say?"
I stared blankly as I fought to maintain my composure. How embarrassing, I was an extremely sloppy drunk. The only thing I could bring myself to do was nod slightly.
He smiled slightly. "Great! Then we better get moving." He offered his arm for Mitsuru to hold onto if she was going to collaspe or needed support to walk. Whether she took his offer or not, he started his way down the street at a slow enough pace so Mitsuru won't trip or fall.
--15 minutes later--
Oliver unlocked the door to his apartment and entered slowly. "Okay, nice and easy now..." He whispered calmly to the girl as he lead her to a couch. It was a nice place, a little messy, but good interior. After she sat down, he cleared his throat. "Help yourself to food in the kitchen while I go get my..."
Suddenly, rain started to pour down hard. "Ah crap..."
"I... I'm not sure... I rather not take any chances, I don't have a car." He said, crossing his arms and letting out an impatient sigh. "We have nothing to do other than wait it out... but seeing how hard it's coming down, it might not stop for a little while."
He glanced over at the female, a sorrowful expression on his face. "I-I apologize... maybe it'll stop before morning, then I can take you home. In the mean time, please, make yourself at home for the next hour or two."
"I can walk home now, I'm sorry..."
Oliver chuckled, "Oh, don't be so dramatic. You haven't troubled me at all, my dear. If it was trouble, I would not have offered, now would I? You have nothing to be sorry for." He said with a smile. "Please, I insist that you wait until the rain starts to calm down and you become... sober."
"Seeing how you're fighting to stay awake... you can rest on the couch, if you'd like. It'd probably make the time pass by quicker, ne?"
Oliver chuckled. "If only..." He said, his smile saddening. As he noticed the female falling asleep, he pulled a blanket out from the closet and covered the female with it, brushing the hair out of her face. "Sleep well." He muttered as he turned off the light. With that, he walked down the short hallway and into his room to get some work done.
My head pounded from the intense hangover that resulted from the night before. I moaned in pain and now remembered why I didn't go out drinking too often.
Mitsuru would soon smell the fresh scent of breakfast fill the room. Eggs, french toast, and bacon to be exact. Oliver had gotten up early to make breakfast for the both of them, only thing is, he forgot to put a shirt on. He heard Misuru's moan and put down his spatula, turning off the stove and starting to rummage through the medicine cabinet.
He approached her calmly with a glass of water and two pills. "Here, take this... it'll help with the pain." He said, placing them on the sidetable.
Oliver let out a soft laugh, blushing slightly. "Well, I live alone, I never really wear clothing when I sleep. If it bothers you, I'll put on a shirt." He said to reassure her. He picked up the glass and made his way back to the kitchen. "By the way, my name is Oliver. How about you?"
He smiled slightly, flipping over the cooking French toast. "Thank you." After the young woman introduced herself, he nodded. "Mitsuru... a lovely name indeed. So, I can shorten it, hm? Maybe I'll call you Mitsie, or MitMit, or even SuSu." He said in a joking tone, chuckling at his own jokes.
"Anyways, the food should be ready in a little bit. I don't want to set you off with a empty stomach, now do I? That'd be rude of me not to feed my guest before leaving."
Oliver chuckled. "Ollie, hm? Lookie there, nicknames already." He said with a happy smirk, making them both plates. He sprinkled powdered sugar on the French toast, along with syrup and butter. "You know, that'd actually help me out a lot... you can just clean them, I'll dry and put them away."
"For now, though..." He handed Mitsuru her plate. "Lets enjoy breakfast, ne?"
I took the plate and admired it. "It looks great, and it smells delicious," I stated.
He smiled, handing her a fork and a knife. "I hope it tastes as good as it looks." He said, making his way to the table so he can eat. He pulled out his chair and sat down, starting to dig in to his breakfast. "Don't worry, we'll work right on getting you home after we eat, I haven't forgotten." He said, nodding.
