Kayla Marie was born to a single mother in Las Vegas, Nevada. They lived in a trailer park for most of her childhood. When Kayla turned nine, she discovered her special power. She was helping her mother in the kitchen when she dropped a lighted match. Everything began catching flames and Kayla's mother hurried out of the room to retrieve the fire extinguisher. Kayla tried cupping water in her hands and putting out flames but it didn't work. Sh, she tried blowing the flames, and to her surprise flames spilled from her lips, making everything ten times worse. She then noticed her skin wasn't burning and her hair was in fact red. She thought for a second and took a deep breathe. Just as she planned, flames were being sucked into her body. In less than a minute, the fire was gone. When her mother came back, she only saw a blackened kitchen, and a her red headed daughter. Police sirens broke her gaze at her daughter. She quickly began packing clothes and instructed Kayla to do the same. They moved around a lot during Kayla's childhood in fear that someone might discover Kayla's power. When Kayla turned 18, she googled legends about her power with fire. She learned the official name for it, pyromancy. She was a pyromancer.
Her mother died when she was 19, and Kayla had to find a new place to live. She stumbled across this community on the internet. She applied for residence the same day.
