Decimus is an overly blunt and direct man. He can be cold, callous and down right viscous. He is known to be able to be bought off by whoever has the most coin so earning his trust is not something easy to do.
Decimus spent his time in the Legion bolstering his innate violent tendencies and making gold in less than lucrative ways. By forcing businesses and farmers to pay him and his friends protection money. He was also known to abandon his post constantly to go off drinking. A terrible Legionnaire but a hell of a fighter his commanding officers always put up with the man because his skill and presence on the battlefield was invaluable. Until the day came when a group of Visigoths approached him and asked him to "leave" his posting duty outside of the Legatus tent. Decimus took the coin from the assassins and got a drink. In the morning the Legatus was dead and Decimus was in chains. On the way to get executed Decimus managed to escape and lived on the run. For the next three years he thieved and killed for coin. He worked as a mercenary and highway man until the empire caught him once again.
