Description

Image
Name: Adrian Kozlenkov
Age: Twenty-one
Likes:
+Music. Adrian absolutely loves any type of music, baroque/classical/romantic and pagan rock being his favourite genres. It is a fairly common occurance for him to just put on headphones, turn on a song, and forget about the world.
+Poetry. This goes hand in hand with his love of music. Adrian loves all types of poetry, be it in the form of a song or not, Edgar Allan Poe being his favourite poet.
+Perfection. There is nothing he likes better than something being absolutely perfect, a trait which is rather rare.
+Winter. It is a nice, cold temperature, he doesn't have to worry about tanning, and the snow always looks so pristine and perfect.
+Footsteps. There is just something he finds oddly intriguing about them.
Dislikes:
-Summer. It is just far too warm; not to mention, the sunlight tends to get him really tan and give him freckles, something which Adrian does not like.
-Cars. Considering his lover was hit by one, it's fairly obvious to see why Adrian doesn't like them.
-Spring. Adrian has severe pollen allergies, so, in spring he is always a sneezing wreck.
-Sebastian's parents. Without them being as cruel as they had been, none of this would have ever happened. Adrian refuses to forgive them for their actions.
-Peanut butter. Adrian is allergic to most types of nuts, so he doesn't like anything containing nuts anyways, but he has a special hatred of peanut butter. It just doesn't smell very good.
Appearance: Adrian is a fairly tall male, standing at 5'11", with a thin, delicate build that has gotten more than a few people worrying about whether he eats enough. His face isn't drop-dead gorgeous, but it's not horrifyingly ugly either. Sure, his eyes are a bit small, and there are often deep shadows and bags underneath him, and perhaps his forehead is a bit large, but he at least has a very sweet smile. Adrian does not smile very often, but, when he does, he can melt even the coldest of hearts.

His hair is quite long for a male, falling down to his shoulders in length. It is not a particularly exotic shade, just being a brown dark enough to almost be considered black and it is not cut in a very interesting style. However, it is incredibly silky in texture; a fact which causes just about everyone who knows Adrian to have a love of playing with his hair. Usually, he wears it parted on the left side, and keeps his bangs tucked behind his ears. Adrian's eyes are dark brown in colour, like his hair, with short, slightly curved eyelashes. His eyebrows are not easily visible, being surprisingly light in comparison to his hair. He has very pale skin.
Personality: Quiet and reserved, Adrian is not the type to be particularly social. He always is rather shy, almost to the point where it seems as if he is completely terrified of people. It's not people he's terrified of, but rather getting into relationships with them. He always worries that he will lose them, just like he lost Sebastian. Because of this, he tends to just focus on his school work. The fact that he is taking fairly difficult classes right now helps with that.

He is quite friendly once you get to know him, it's just that the 'getting to know him' bit tends to take a while. Around his friends, he can become incredibly talkative and amusing. 'Eccentric' would probably be a good word to use to describe him. Half of the things he says around his friends make no sense whatsoever, but his friends still find it amusing. The minute a stranger shows up, he suddenly becomes mute, so most people who don't know him well tend to think that he is not particularly talkative.

He absolutely adored - and still adores - Sebastian, and would literally give his life for the other male. It hurts him every day to see that Sebastian thinks he is a stranger, and he wishes that Sebastian would just remember who he was. Adrian wants to approach Sebastian, to tell him about their past, but he is too terrified of Sebastian's parents to do so. So, for now, he just tries to cope with being treated like a stranger.
Brief History: Adrian's relationship with Sebastian started as a friendship, little more. Only as they aged did its true colours begin to show. By the time he was in his senior year of high school, Adrian was madly in love with the younger male. He was overjoyed when they started dating, even if the fact that they couldn't be public about their relationship upset him a bit.

He was devastated when Sebastian's parents refused to let the two of them date, and literally felt like he was about to die of sorrow when he discovered his lover had been hit by a car. If he could have, he would have been sitting in the hospital room 24/7. Sadly, this plan didn't quite work out thanks to Sebastian's parents. Adrian was more than a little upset to hear that he wasn't allowed to see his best friend and lover, to say the least.

Finally, his mother, having grown sick of the fact that Adrian was doing little more than moping around the house, decided that he should go to college. Adrian didn't have any say in it, his mother just shipping him off as soon as possible.  At first, he wasn't particularly fond of the idea, until he found out who his roommate was. He wants to talk to Sebastian, to tell him the truth of his past, but it far too scared of his parents to do so. So, for now, he just treats Sebastian in a polite, slightly friendly but still reserved way, as if he was stranger.
Theme Song: Show Me Love - t.A.T.u.

This was an accident
Not the kind where sirens sound
Never even noticed
We're suddenly crumbling

Tell me how you've never felt
Delicate or innocent
Do you still have doubts that
Us having faith makes any sense

Tell me nothing ever counts
Lashing out or breaking down
Still somebody loses 'cause
There's no way to turn around

Staring at your photograph
Everything now in the past
Never felt so lonely I
Wish that you could show me love

Show me love, show me love, show me love,
Show me love, show me love
'Til you open the door

Show me love, show me love, show me
love,
Show me love, show me love,
'Til I'm up off the floor

Show me love, show me love show me love,
Show me love, show me love,
'Til it's inside my pores

Show me love, show me love, show me love,
Show me love, show me love,
'Til I'm screaming for more

Random acts of mindlessness
Commonplace occurrences
Chances and surprises
Another state of consciousness

Tell me nothing ever counts
Lashing out or breaking down
Still somebody loses 'cause
There's no way to turn around

Tell me how you've never felt
Delicate or innocent
Do you still have doubts that
Us having faith makes any sense

You play games, I play tricks
[Boys] and [boys], but you're the one
Like a game of pick-up sticks
Played by f*cking lunatics

Show me love, show me love
Give me all that I want
Show me love, Show me love
'Til I'm screaming for more

So begins...

"Come on, skinny love, just last a year..." Adrian brushed his hair out of his eyes as he sang along to his current favourite song, Skinny Love by Birdy. This certainly wasn't the genre of music he usually listened to, and Adrian would never admit liking the song if someone asked him, but the truth was that he absolutely loved it. He just saw so much of himself in it, and it helped that it mirrored his emotions on most days.

He pulled his car into the parking spot which he had found out earlier in the day was his. His car, a tiny black Smartcar Fortwo ED, was dwarfed by all of the other cars. Adrian wasn't the sort of guy to buy himself a big, flashy car, and instead just stuck with his tiny Smartcar. It had been fairly cheap for him to buy, and ran on electricity rather than gas, which saved him some money. Besides, it wasn't like he needed to impress anybody. The one man who he wanted to impress had been ripped away from him a long time ago.

Picking up the one bag he had brought with him, a small black suitcase, from the passenger seat of his car, Adrian climbed out of the small car. He made sure to lock the car, and then stuffed the keys in the pocket of his skinny jeans, beginning to walk towards the large dorm building. He had already moved most of his things into the dorm the previous day, so the black suitcase was all he had.

He arrived at his room just in time to see a male literally falling into the room. Instinctively reacting, Adrian's arm shot out, grabbing the other male on the shoulder to stop his fall. "Ar-are you okay?" he stuttered nervously, hoping the male wasn't hurt. Adrian hated to see people who were hurt.

Something about this male seemed oddly familiar. Adrian's heart almost stopped when he caught a glimpse of his face and realised why. It couldn't be. It just couldn't. His roommate was Sebastian. Sebastian, the love of his life, the man who had been so cruelly torn away. The one whose parents had said never wanted to see him again. The one who, supposedly, blamed him for the accident. The one who, supposedly, hated him.

"S-sebastian?"

Sebastian Lee

So accustomed to falling and hurting himself, Sebastian had his eyes shut and was preparing for an unpleasant impact that never came. It wasn't until he opened his eyes did he realize someone had stopped his fall. He let out a sigh of relief and straightened up, quick to turn around and thank his savior. He beamed a wide smile to show his gratitude. "Thank you, I'm so clumsy sometimes. I thought I was a goner." He laughed lightly, but his friendly expression faltered when the male called him by his name. For a second he wondered if he had told him his name and simply forgot, but Sebastian was sure that he hadn't. He scratched his head in a brief moment of thought. He couldn't recall ever meeting him before, in fact, he hadn't met anyone at the school yet. He looked down and saw that the other had a suitcase in his hand and quickly put two and two together. "Oh! You must be my roommate." Always one to remember his manners, he held his hand out casually. "I'm Sebastian Lee, but I guess you already know that." Normally Sebastian was incredibly shy, especially upon first meeting someone new. He might not have been ready to tell his roommate all of his hopes and dreams, but he did feel somewhat relaxed around the other. It was strange, since he was absolutely sure they had never crossed paths before, but he did hope that meant they would be able to get along well.

Sebastian stepped in the room and out of the others ways, feeling a bit lost as to what he should do with all of the boxes. "I'm sorry about this. I live quite a ways away so I had my stuff shipped here early." He slipped his coat off and placed it on the bed he guessed was his side—considering it was completely bare—but opted to leave his scarf on. He was nervous about leaving home and being in a brand new place, and as always, his scarfs acted as a security blanket for him. Sebastian started unpacking his things, being extra careful not to trip and risk breaking anything of his or his roommate's. One of the first things he did was set a picture of his parents, Alicia, and himself on the desk. It was taken over the Summer when they went on a cruise around the Caribbean. He hadn't particularly enjoyed Alicia's company, but it was a nice trip overall and he couldn't help but grin while looking at the photo.

"Do you live far away?" He questioned briefly, he didn't want to seem antisocial but he also didn't want to ask anything that would make it seem like he was being nosy. Sebastian was always thinking about how others might react to the things he said before speaking, the last thing he wanted to do was get on his roommate's nerves by prying into his business.

Adrian Kozlenkov

Was this some sort of joke? Was Sebastian just pretending not to remember him so that they wouldn't have any awkward arguments or conversations? Did he think Adrian wouldn't forgive him if he realized that he loved Alicia, not Adrian? Of course Adrian would forgive him; he would forgive Sebastian for anything. So that couldn't be his reason for seeming to not recognize him.

Maybe... No, it couldn't be. Adrian's mind dented itself of the idea before it could even be thought out fully. Of course Sebastian hadn't actually lost his memory! Or, had he...? It certainly would make sense as to why it seemed Sebastian didn't recognize him. But, no, he couldn't have lost his memory. His parents would have at least mentioned to Adrian if that were the case, right?

"Oh. Um... I'm Adrian.. Adrian Kozlenkov," he said quietly, having been startled out of his thoughts by Sebastian's introduction. If Sebastian wanted to act like they were strangers - or, his mind nagged, if Sebastian really didn't recognize him - so be it. He would just treat Sebastian like a stranger as well, then. It was a simple enough task, so why did his heart ache so much at the concept of it?

"It's okay. If you need help unpacking, I'd be glad to help," he offered. Thankfully, he had already unpacked everything he had yesterday; all that remained was his small suitcase, which he could unpack in five minutes, not that he wanted to. After all, in it were pictures of him and Sebastian. Those pictures would only break his heart more now that he had the real Sebastian in front of him, the real Sebastian who seemed to have entirely forgotten him. "I also live quite a while a way, so I moved in yesterday because I wasn't sure how long it would take for me to transport my things. I have nothing to do fit now, so I'd be more than willing to help you unpack."

He set his suitcase on his bed, and then quickly walked outside, picking up one of the boxes and bringing it into the room, gently setting it on the floor. Adrian's arms ached in complaint; the heavy lifting he had done yesterday to bring everything he owned up to his dorm hadn't been very kind on his shoulders, arms, and back. Of course, he wasn't going to show that it was painful for him to help Sebastian bring his things into the room; if he knew anything about Sebastian, it was that he refused to let anyone help him if he realized it was hurting them. At least, that was how he had acted before the accident. Adrian wasn't so sure now.

His vision blurred slightly with sorrow and anger as he saw the picture. Adrian was not the person to hate someone, but he couldn't help but hate three of the people in the picture Sebastian had just taken out. Two of the people were older, they were Sebastian's parents. Adrian refused to forgive them for anything they had done, blaming the car accident on them. The third person was standing next to Sebastian, in a spot where Adrian knew he should have been standing. It was Alicia, Sebastian's fiancé, a woman who he believed had stolen his lover away from him. These were perhaps the only three people in his life that Adrian disliked, but one thing was for certain: he hated them with a vengeance.

"Fairly," he said in response to Sebastian's question. "Thankfully, there wasn't much traffic, and my car gets decent mileage and is electric, so it wasn't that bad of a drive. Well, I at least didn't have to pay for gas, so, considering this school is sucking all of my money out of my wallet, that's a good thing."

He nodded towards the picture, making a vague gesture with his hand to mean that it was the picture he was nodding towards. "Is that your family?" he asked, feigning curiosity. Of course, he knew the answer, but, from his experience with roommates, he knew that it would seem strange if he didn't ask. Besides, Adrian was a curious person. It was in his nature to always ask questions, even ones he already knew the answer to.
