Loving the Impossible

Loving the Impossible

0 INK

Brianna, a lonely teenage girl, has noticed a man around her town. He has a two secrets, one dark and the other not so dark.

2,660 readers have visited Loving the Impossible since Dakota-John created it.

Introduction

Brianna has a lot to be proud of; good grades, great art, a somewhat stable family, and slightly popular. One thing has eluded her grasp, though; love. That's right, she's without love. Men have always been a puzzle to her, and she's never been able to get one to love her. They have avoided her for stupid reasons: she's fat, and she has a mental disorder. Both of these things are unappealing to men, and driven them away despite her good traits. She has spotted a man around town like no other, one that goes by DJ. She's not only attracted by his looks, but his personality and his accepting and kind ways. Very unlike most men. He, however, has a dark secret, and a not so dark secret. Will she find out before he crushes her heart?

The character skeleton for this roleplay is here:

Ally/Enemy/Other:

Here's the one for my character:

Name: Brianna
Age: 17
Occupation: Student
Personality: She's mild mannered, but can flip at any time. She's also very blunt and brutally honest. Her wit is as sharp and quick as a butcher knife on a side of meat.
Appearance: She appears unkempt, her brown hair is often messy and sometimes wet in the mornings as she neglects to dry it. Her eyes are hazel, and often make her appear P.O.'ed even when she isn't. She is chubby, to say the least.
History: She's had a normal life other than the fact that her father and aunt sheltered her way too much. As a result, she's afraid of disobeying adults.
Ally/Enemy/Other: Main Character.

"But that's not always the best to look for, Brianna. You need to see everything, not just what's visible," Midnight tried to explain, at the same time trying to be soothing. As they approached the house, she unlocked the door, and they walked in. She went to the fridge, saying, "I think we have a few different kinds of ice cream; sugar always makes me feel better. Want to see if that works?" She was being a little more talkative now that she was in her own house, and not in public. "And, once we get our bowls, we can head down to my room."

Brianna fallowed Midnight inside and to the fridge as well. Her frown disappeared when she gazed upon the ice cream, "Mmmm....junk foods. You're right, Midnight. Do you have a TV in your room? One of my favorite shows comes on every day at this time." She looked at the different kinds, "I think I'll pick the Rocky Road. That's always good".

"Yeah, it is," Midnight agreed, then added, "Yeah, I have a TV. We'll just need to find the right channel; I don't watch it much," she admitted. The fact was, she spent too much time reading to even remember she had a TV. She pulled out the Rocky Road, filling up the two large bowls she had also pulled out. She held one out to Brianna, using her other hand to dig a couple of spoons up from a drawer. As she did, she said, "We'll have to be careful, though. Ice cream is hard to clean out of carpet. And I'll have to be the one to clean it up."

"I'll be as careful as I am smart" Brianna chuckled, then took the bowl. She went down to Midnight's room and turned on the TV, the show wasn't on. Instead, there was a news bulletin about a local murderer.
"Around the area the body was found, a witness saw a young male. He was said to have black hair, and also said to stand 5'6". Last time he was seen, he was wearing a maroon hoodie with the local school logo and grey pants with the same logo in maroon. If anyone has any information about the man's identity, or where he is hiding, please contact the local police."
Brianna gasped, but held onto the bowl tightly. "That sounds like Daniel".

"Well...yes, it does...but we don't know where it was. It looks about the same time we were at the library, and he was there, too. If it was anywhere else, it couldn't have been him," Midnight said, trying to calm Brianna. Though, she thought, it was entirely possible. After all, what did they really knoe about him? Instead, she added, "And it could have been anyone in with the school logo; we've had the same logo for years, and the school does run out of ideas and copy past designs. It could have been someone who went to the school years ago, or found it in something like a Goodwill. I've seen them there. And a lot of guys with brown hair, that are about that height," she said reasonably, though she suspected it could have been him. But, she argued with herself, it still could have been someone else.

Brianna thought, "You're right, nothing to get worked up about. I don't really care anyway, except if any of us are the next targets. Then I'd care. I doubt it though." Suddenly, the phone rang. Brianna looked at the caller ID, it was from home. She answered, it was DJ. Why was he at her house?

"Hello? Why are you calling from my place"

"I can't call from my own right now. Listen, I'll be going away earlier than expected, but your brother's not home for me to tell. I need you to tell him for me. Got it?"

"O..okay...bye bye".

"Bye".

Brianna shook, "I...I fell in love with...a murderer."

"With...Brianna...who was that? What makes you say that?" Midnight looked over her shoulder, looking at the caller id. Her house. Had DJ called her house...from Brianna's house? "...Wait...is anyone even at your house? Did he break in?" He was the murderer...she liked the murderer...the murderer was gay...she shook her head. That train of thought wasn't going anywhere important. "First thing's first: was anyone at your house? Then: what did he want, that he called you here at my house? Third: what do we do about it if he is the killer?" She was trying to think reasonably. They would have to do something about it...but what could they do? Midnight knew for a fact she wasn't nearly strong enough to do anything if she tried to confront him. And Brianna, as far as she knew, hadn't had any lessons in fighting. The only thing would be to call in, like the tv news bulletin had said, or to just leave him alone. There wasn't really much to do about it...for them, anyway.

"Well, my aunt was at the house, DJ wanted me to tell Stanley that he was going to be away earlier than he expected." She thought for a minute and dialed the number of the police station. After a few minutes of talking, she hung up. "I just called the police. They said they'd look into it, but for now I'll be sure to protect you and anyone else that's our ally. Even my brother, who the killer wanted me to inform for some reason. Do you think him...and Stan...?" She made several motions with her fingers which suggested hooking up and sex.

"...Him...and...Stan? ...I don't know. It' possible, I guess...I mean...wow...actually, it sounds like they did..." Midnight thought about it. "To be honest...it really sounds like it. I mean, why else would he want you to tell him? That's the only thing that makes sense..." She really didn't want to think about it...but she was given no choice. It made sense. Why else would he want to know? "...That's...a little...wierd to think about. ...Do we know whether or not your brother is...into men?"

"Maybe he's bisexual. He likes women, and that's what he'd outwardly admit. He's probably insecure about his sexuality, though, as most men probably are. But, if Stan is with him...my brother's in danger" Brianna concluded. She read the last part in her mind over again, "Oh no!"

"...No, I don't think he's in danger. Why would he hurt his...boyfriend? I'm sure that's why he's leaving sooner; to protect him." At least, Midnight thought, that's what makes sense. "He might be insecure...but he still is probably safe. All DJ wanted us to tell him is that he was leaving sooner, not to go looking for him. It's safer, because he doesn't know exactly where he is, so he can't hunt DJ down." Stan was much safer here, at home, then hunting him down. And he couldn't know exactly where he was heading; I don't think even DJ knew where he was heading.

"It could all be a facade, and that possibility must be still kept in the back of our minds just in case anything happens", Brianna said. Just then a window shattered and footsteps were heard around the house. "You stay here, I'll check it out" Brianna whispered, taking some hard metallic object with her. She crept towards the source of the steps, and saw the familiar boy. He looked up and saw her as she clocked him hard on the head. She dragged his now unconscious body to Midnight's room. "Is there rope anywhere?" she asked.

"...He broke in?! Gah...no, I don't think we have rope...but 100 mile an hour cord should work. Almost makes me think it's a good thing my dad was military," Midnight said, hurrying into the garage. She came back with a coiled length of the cord. "This should work; it's what people in the military use for everything. Dad said it could hold a tank back if there was something strong enough to tie to the other end," she said, tying it around him. She tied multiple knots, just to make sure he wasn't going to get out anytime soon. "But...why would he break in here to attack us if he told us to tell Stan he was leaving? It was pointless to call...unless, of course, he was only calling to make sure we were still here. Then it makes perfect sense. But what have we done? He couldn't possibly have known we had put the pieces together so fast..."

"I don't think that's what he wanted to do" Brianna said, spying a note on the ground. The note was on a post it stickie, labeled "For Stan's eyes only".
Brianna opened the stickie, and inside it read:

Dearest Stanley,
Our love knows no bounds, but I need to be sure you know this. I will expect you to follow my directions that I have provided in this note. First: go to the Shipyard outside of town, there will be something I left there for you. Second: walk. Keep walking until I show up out of some woods, just so others haven't got a chance of finding me. Third: Run away with me. We'll fly some place nice, like Europe, as soon as we reach the nearest airport.
Love you lots,
Your Daniel Dearest.

"Isn't that cute, he signed it Daniel Dearest...romance makes me sick" Brianna said, "I should just kill him right here and now." She found another note, it read Reminder to self: Make sure that Brianna gets the note to Stan.

Midnight looked at the note over her shoulder. "I don't think it's realy romance itself that makes you sick...just that it's so strange that it's for your brother, coming from a guy or girl. But you can't kill him. That only makes you more like him; like an murderer. And I'm sure Stan wouldn't appreciate it." She looked at the reminder he was also carrying. "...How bad must his memory be to have to make a note to remind himself to make sure you give the nbote to Stan? That must have been too important to forget. But, since it involves your brother and not me, you really should decide what to do with him. You can call the police again, and tell them we have him here, and that he broke in. Or you can let him go on his way and take the note to Stan, though do we really want him with an murderer like this?" This could either be a good thing or a bad thing. They could let them go together, and they could...share their wierd love. She still couldn't wrap her mind around that. But, if they let them go together, there was still the possibility that we were letting him go into danger. "If we call the police, they would take him, but there's the possibility that Stan would be angry with us. We could let him go, and give the note to Stan, but then there's the possible danger of that always comes with being with a murderer...there's a bad possibility for both ways, really...the only question is which would be worse?"

"It's not the fact he's gay that makes me sick. Romance makes me sick cause I'm without it. That's neither here nor there. There is a third option, one that would help them both and neither of them would have to run. That way, we can also keep an eye on him and Stanley, so we know that he won't kill him or something" Brianna said. "We frame someone else, Richard claimed his brother was abused by his father and his father looks a lot like Daniel only aged quite a bit. There's a chance that the witness didn't see the boy clearly, clearly enough to distinguish him from the father."

"...I suppose that's true. But that could cause problems, too. If he is a murderer...how can we be sure he won't kill someone else? What if he's so bent on leaving, we can't do anything about it." Midnight knew these were only possibilities, but she also knew it was best to look from every angle. "Neither of them would have to run...and they might still be together...but how are we to frame his father? We would have to sneak around, find a way to get evidence of him near where the body was found, and get away without notice or leaving evidence of ourselves. ...Or...just..." Why was she thinking so hard? "Or we could just tell the police that was who we saw that matched the description." That was so much easier.

"Well, that's another option. We'll have to tell him not to kill again, or at least ask him why he's doing it" Brianna replied. She then phoned the police and told them about Daniel's father Dillon being he murderer. "They'll be arresting him in a few."

DJ wasn't waking up, in fact, he wasn't even breathing. Blood leaked from the side of his head.

Midnight ran out and grabbed a towel, and by the time she came back, he was awake. As she pressed the towel to the side of his head, she answered," You shouldn't have broken into my house like that. Honestly, your lucky the alarm gets turned off when someone's home. Someone else would have had a few questions...hold still, we have to keep this from bleeding so much. Brianna, he's a little...tied up," she stifled a laugh. This wasn't exactly a time for jokes. "I'll go hunt down hte first aid kit; we should be able to bandage him up...at least enough to stop the bleeding." She got back up and ran out, heading to search through her parents room, muttering to herself. "Why? He was the one that broke into my house...could have rung the doorbell or knocked on the door...but no, has to break a window...how will I explain this to Mom and Dad?"

Daniel had a cut on the side of his head, it had a dribble of blood coming from it. "The cops were coming and I needed a place to hide. Quick."

Brianna shook her head, "You're lucky I love my brother enough to not have killed you where you stood. Honestly, killing people...why did you do it?"

"So you know, huh? Well...I was told to."

"By who?"

"The mercenaries"

"What mercenaries?"

"I've said too much".

"Fine".

Brianna quit interrogating him for a moment, "What if I told you that you didn't have to go into hiding anymore, and you could be with my brother?"

"That...that'd be great."

"I told the police it was your father."

Daniel stared at her for a moment, "good."

Midnight walked back in, having heard their conversation through the wall. Really the only advantage she had seen in her room being next door to her parents. "Hold still," she told him, as she started to clean out the gash on his head. "You could have knocked, you know. Now I have to come up with something to tell my parents..." She let out a sigh. She looked up to Brianna. "...He'll have to come up with some story for this, too...honestly, he's just lucky we moved fast enough. If we had left him too much longer..." She trailed off, glancing back at him, and doing her best to wrap a bandage around his head. She was a little tired now. This was a lot more than would normally happen in one day; trying to comfort Brianna, owrrying about him being a killer, having him break in, and then trying to take care of him. What a day, she thought.

Loving the Impossible"

Well, this is my second roleplay. My first one was unrelated, and I think it has died.

Anyway, the information for it is in the roleplay introduction. If you have any character suggestions or questions, here is where to ask.

Seriously, suggestions would be nice, be it for people, places and such. I'm a noob at making roleplays, so bear with me on this one. I really want this RP to work out, it's such a great idea.
