23

Bisexual

Role
Security Officer

Height
6'0"

Weight
165lbs

Hair Color
White

Eye Color
Red

Scars/Tattoos/Piercings
None, save for the markings that distinguish her as a Class A Drevakress. These are located on the back of her neck, though hidden by her long hair.

Description
A rather tall woman with a nicely toned build, it doesn't take much to spot Morgan in a crowd, especially with that snowy white hair of hers. Her posture and fierce gaze give her an intimidating presence. She does keep herself well groomed, enough to appear presentable when on duty.

Preferred Clothing
More often than not she wears her military uniform. As far as Morgan is concerned, she is on a warship, and she is merely conforming to protocol. The only real deviation from the usual would be several pieces of armour to provide additional protection in battle.

Specs

Equipment
Sword - A broadsword made of refined adamantine, the hilt of which has been fitted with a device capable of harnessing Morgan's dark matter reserves to project a field of dark matter around the blade at will.

Shotgun - Effective at medium and short ranges, this semi-automatic weapon can use a variety of specialised shells, with Morgan having a distinct preference for explosive ammunition. Thanks to the inhuman strength of the Drevakress, Morgan can handle the recoil when holding it in one arm, freeing the other for her sword.

Laser Pistol - A common military grade sidearm, nothing particularly special. Useful during ammo shortages.

Skills
Tactician - Morgan has a firm grasp of the art of war, and is capable of acting as a squad commander for the purposes of repelling boarders or leading a strike team.

Close Combat Expert - Melee and short range engagements are where Morgan excels, eager as she is to get into the thick of battle. Though probably not the greatest at finesse and poise, such things mean little in the face of brute force and sheer ferocity.

Heavy Weapons Expertise - While operating heavy weaponry means not leading the charge, she does appreciate the destructive power a bigger gun can bring to the table. Having superhuman strength makes them a damn sight easier for her to carry, too.

Strengths
Enhanced Strength - Naturally stronger than most, a Drevakress is capable of lifting more than the average human.

Enhanced Endurance - Another natural gift of the Drevakress, their bodies are hardened to the point that they're more than able to take a beating.

Dark Matter Immunity - All Drevakress have an immunity to dark matter and the negative effects associated with it.

Obedient - With a military upbringing, Morgan is very disciplined and respects a proper chain of command.

Weaknesses
Grudgebearer - Morgan is generally unwilling to forgive and forget past misdeeds, which could affect her ability to co-operate with others.

Killing Frenzy - In the thick of battle, it has been theorised that Morgan could potentially enter a berserker rage. In such a state, she would be a danger to friend and foe alike.

Persona

Personality
Having been brought up to obey orders, Morgan fits right in as part of the crew of a warship. Ever eager for the thrill of battle, she will not hesitate to lead the charge against the enemy. She abides by a strict code of honour both on and off the battlefield, with little patience for those she views as cowardly.

Morgan's isolated upbringing has left her rather socially stunted. She doesn't take well to being the centre of attention and would rather be left alone by the more talkative types. Accepting orders from your superior is one thing. Having to do small talk is a whole other kettle of fish.

BACKGROUND

Family
None to speak of. She had been raised away from her parents, and never had a chance to know more about them.

Personal History
The circumstances of Morgan's birth were not the result of a blessed union between two lovers, but rather part of a selective breeding campaign with a test group of Drevakress slaves in the hopes that they could better serve their masters. Bred for her strength and aggression, Morgan was placed into an intensive education and training regime from an early age, and at the age of fifteen she was placed into the service of the noble house that bought her several years prior.

Morgan's indentured servitude mostly consisted of menial chores for the first three years, after which she was deemed old enough to act as a bodyguard for her master, who had some ties with the military. She had been treated fairer than could be said for other Drevakress working as servants, so long as she kept in line and obeyed orders. As the years passed, Morgan grew restless, resenting her status especially after seeing that there were others of her kind who lived free. Eventually, Morgan requested her master to allow her to enter active service in exchange for her freedom. A week later, he accepted, sending her to a fleet academy to train as a fleet officer.

Morgan spent two years in the academy, undergoing yet more training and exams, something she was used to by now thanks to her regimented lifestyle. However, this upbringing hadn't exactly made her the most socially adept of people, and ended up making more enemies than friends. Had it not been for her aggressive temperament, she probably would have been offered a position as a First Officer, or even a Captain. Instead, she was assigned to the Lunarwing as chief security officer, the Admiralty probably figuring that a Drevakress like her would be just the ticket for such a position.

Nero Daemon

Looking at the ship from the shuttle he was on Nero looked at his escorts. "So this is the ship I am to be put in command of?" he asked only receiving a simple nod in response. "I guess I should be grateful that they have enough trust to place me in command of such a important vessel." Slowly approaching the ship Nero noticed just how big it was 'certainly bigger then how they described it during the debrief.' he thought stepping out of the shuttle into the hanger bay. "The captain has boarded!" A synthesized voice rang out "No one told me there would be a V.I. on board." Nero stated with an annoyed look, but instead of lingering on the subject he made his way to the elevator.

Heading to the deck Nero crossed his arms losing himself in thought. "I may have a duty as captain but that doesn't mean I can't search for my people." He said moving his right hand up to his chin before catching himself and setting it to his side. "Cold metal is not what I want to be touching my face." With another sigh he pressed the button to take him to the deck.

As the elevator slowly reached it's destination Nero stepped out onto the deck looked around until he saw a red haired woman. "I take it your the chief officer." he said moving to a nearby console before continuing. "I'm Nero and I guess from today forward I'll be the captain of this ship." He said trying to sound as enthusiastic as he could before grabbing the data pad. "Well gotta address the rest of the crew other wise they'll wonder if I'm just some kind of bastard."

Pressing the button for the comm device and clearing his voice Nero began to speak "Hello I may not be the best for public speeches but it's something that must be done. First off let me get introductions out of the way, although many of you may already know it's just common courtesy to do any way. I'm the captain of this vessel Nero Daemon though I would prefer that every one would just call me Nero though if your comfortable addressing me as captain you may do so. Now then with that out of the way I would ask all of you to look at your neighbors, days ago they might have been a stranger, fellow student, or your best friend. But today they're crew mates, and the closest thing you'll have to a family for the next couple of months maybe years. So treat them as such and everything will go smoothly. Now then let's prepare to set sail!" Releasing the button Nero took a shaky step back tossing the data pad back onto the console he plucked it from, before releasing an exasperated breath of relief and turning back towards the elevator. "Now with that out of the way I think I'm going to head to my quarters, if anything pops up look for me there." And with a click of his heels Nero disappeared through the doors to the elevator.

Morgan Stoyer

Morgan was currently in her quarters, doing a few stretching exercises to keep herself limber. As the ship was still docked, there was no real need for her to patrol the decks and she had already forwarded a summary of the ship's defences to the captain's terminal for them to read once they were aboard. All in all, things were all quiet and there was nothing for her to do, something she was unaccustomed to.

Then, just as she was coming to the end of her exercises, the ship's PA system came to life with an announcement. From their new captain, too. He seemed to sound almost nervous, to her ears. And he'd rather they address him by his first name? Speaking of which, "Nero Daemon" didn't sound too much like a human name (not a sane one, at any rate). Drevakress captains were still an uncommon sight, and the chance of serving under one rather than a human came as something of a relief to the security officer. His competence, however, remained to be seen.

Not content to sit around in her room and wait until the ship left port, Morgan decided to go and explore the ship some more. It would certainly kill the monotony. Besides, she hadn't had a proper look around the aft end of the ship yet. The door locked behind Morgan as she left her quarters and strode down the hallway, headed for the stern. Engineering was that way, she recalled...

Confined with the peace and quiet, sans humming generators and all other mechanical buzzing, Aleks leaned somewhat lacklustre on one of the supporting columns; a hand trickling softly along the set of spanners that hung around her belt. She wasn't so much bored as trying her hardest not to let irritation get the better of herself and risk gritting her teeth at the wrong person (and alienate possible crew-mates already). 'I guess punctuality isn't a requirement to be captain, eh?' Perhaps it was her lack of trust in complete, total strangers taking the reins that she had even the slightest negative thought about her new boss – Like, maybe she shouldn't have had such high hopes from the start when it was obvious they'd want her to expect the worst.

'Or maybe someone should've left a note.'

Either way, Aleks wasn't particularly happy having to adjust expectations for the nth time this day. And just when she was about to debate the pros and cons of storming the deck, a voice came buzzing through the comm...

Admittedly, Aleks would rather have it she hadn't tuned in when all it did was affirm her assumptions that, yes, 'We're fucked.'. Nevermind the formalities (because, really, what captain greets his crew via comm?), this Nero guy didn't even sound remotely like anyone fit to lead a bunch of hand-picked strangers who, quite frankly, probably had fifty-fifty chance of either getting along or wanting to murder each other in their sleep.

'Family, my ass...' There was an almost bitter taste to her attitude as Aleks let out a sigh, desperately trying to keep her spirits up as she resumed preparations for launch. Just then, her ears caught the soft hiss of the door to engineering sliding open.

β€œCan I help you?” The engineer greeted irritably.

Nero Daemon

Walking through the door to his room Nero set Black Heart to the side. "Alright first thing. V.I could you bring up the captains log then give me the status of our current destination." he said moving to his desk and put in his entry. "I've kept in mind the position I'm in and it still boggles me..." mid sentence he cut himself out some how unwilling to finish his statement "either way it doesn't matter now I'm here and I'll lead... Captain Nero signing out."

Feeling his left hand rubbing his arm Nero shook his head before standing up only to very narrowly avoid falling back down as a heavy vibration shook the entirety of the ship. "What the hell was that?!" He called out regaining his composure. "Warning, Warning the Lunarwing is under attack!" as the alarm blared Nero could feel himself moving to the window before he could will himself to make his way to the main deck. "They were quicker to the uptake then originally thought... Guess the pirates aren't all that keen on having something like this getting out of port." He said to himself darting out the door and down towards the deck. "Alright V.I get every one to their stations! This voyage has just got allot more serious." He called out along the way.

As he stepped back onto the deck he could feel the tension that hung in the air "What's our status! he shouted as the alarm was blaring in his ear. "Sir we've been hit port side! the pilot shouted back. 'Great I thought this was going to be a smooth start but I guess the pirates are a bit eager to see what this new ship can do.' Nero thought clenching his fists. "Well what are you waiting for start scanning and trace any residue you find from that last attack back to it's owner! Turning to the com Nero let out a sigh. "I didn't plan for the second time I'd have to use this to be during a combat situation." he said steeling his frazzled mind.

"Guess it's no surprise we're under attack. But all the same." He said before pressing the button to the com "Get to your stations. This is not a drill! I repeat this is not a drill!" He said his tone more commanding then before. "Engine room prepare to prime the warp engine once things get hairy we're going to jump to the closest safe place, med bay you best be prepared for casualties before this is over. Finally guns we're scanning for our assailants now so the moment we find their location lock on and hit them with all the force that these cannons can muster. Everyone has their orders get on it!" he declared removing his hand from the button and letting the intercom fall silent once more. 'I don't plan to lose anybody the first day I'm captain.' he thought looking through each screen to see what he could pick out while gripping his right arm in frustration.

Morgan Stoyer

Scarcely a moment had passed after the door to engineering had opened when Morgan was greeted by a rather grumpy-looking chief engineer. She had looked over the profile for this one. Aleksej, her name was. Listed as a potential troublemaker, one to keep an eye on. No sense in unnecessarily antagonising her.

"I was merely familiarising myself with the ship's layout," Morgan stated. "I hadn't yet explored the aft decks." The security officer stood there for a moment, debating on whether to continue onward and risk disturbing the engineer when the alarm sounded. The captain was on the PA system once again with a call to arms. The ship was under attack! But how? This region of space should have been safe from pirates! Morgan's hand reached for her sword, the other going for her pistol. Her shotgun had been stored in the ship's armoury, and if the enemy managed to board the Lunarwing then she was going to need all the firepower she could get. Without a word, the security officer turned and left engineering, hurrying towards the armoury.

Had the door not slid open as Morgan approached, she probably would have barged right into it. A brief glance round the room and she spotted the officer on duty there, along with the ship's chief medical officer. "Ensign, my shotgun." An order, and straight to the point at that. She acknowledged the presence of the other woman with only a slight nod; there was no time for pleasantries when their first of many battles was almost upon them.

β€œNice meeting you, I guess...”

Whether it was the complete lack of hospitality on the engineer's part, or the glaring fact that they were under attack by a bunch of space pirates with a set of testicles on them, Aleks hadn't even managed to get one syllable out before the ship began having seizures and the captain started barking incoherent orders (and probably deciding with which mood and tone he'd give them with) from the safety of the bridge; prompting Whitey to depart as soon as she'd arrived. Bad note to leave on, but if they weren't about to get themselves killed here and now Aleks figured she might have a chance to make proper acquaintances – So, the opposite of what she did not a minute ago.

'Right, warp drive.' And as she was left to her own devices, Aleks took a second to assess her duties before walking up to the operating panel, fingers rattling across the screen as she made a mental note to give the captain a good scrubbing after the storm had passed.
