Michael sighed,"Okay." He wasn't going to argue with her but that probably wasn't a wise plan. He pulled up to an apartment building and got out, then opened both Katerine and Ally's doors. He grabbed something out of the trunk then followed Ally as she ran to greet the doorman.

Katherine followed the two, pulling out her phone. She called her dad, told him to make supper for 3, then texted Jacob to tell him plans had changed and her father wanted to make a welcome home dinner. He agreed to eat there when he got off work. She told him she was out with her sister shopping, to which he also agreed.

Michael walked inside tickling Ally and talking with her about her day at school while Katherine was on the phone. He really did not feel comfortable doing this, but she seemed desperate.

He let the three of them inside. The man sighed and set down some papers in front of the door as Ally walked into the large kitchen and set her bag on the counter. Ally sat down and began working on her homework. As their usual routine, he poured himself a drink, getting out some snacks then sat next to Ally and helped her work. When Katherine was done with her phone he looked at her awaiting an answer.

Michael talked with Katherine as he helped Ally with her homework. He felt bad for the little girl. Both of them. 

Each of their destinies were already taken hold of. They didn't even have a choice. Mike had been actively working to get Ally out of his care. He was even trying to get himself out of this mess.
