Personality: While Silas appears to be calm and collected most of the time, he has a strange obsession with tearing apart things. Usually he keeps himself together, especially when near 'friends' of his. But when out to kill someone, if possible he likes to drag out his kills. "Quick and painless" isn't something he believes in, ever. Because of his obsession with tearing bodies apart, he's deemed slightly crazy. Not to say he's not. He has his ticks, and killing brings him pure joy. He's not too far gone to lash out at people he's allied with, and listens to people higher up than him without a problem. That doesn't stop him from acting insane in his own way, though.
His quirks aside, Silas is kind of bipolar, in a sense that one minute he'll be angry and frustrated, then relaxed or even happy minutes later. He's easily persuaded too, and likes to get what he wants "now" as opposed to working for something hard to get it later. He likes immediate satisfaction.
History: Silas grew up very slowly, like most vampires. He was always a vampire, and was always content with that. His parents, if you can call them that, didn't really pay any attention to him. They would leave him pets instead to keep him company, not having time for him. Somehow, they didn't find it weird that each pet would "run away" the night after coming to their home. In reality, Silas would kill every pet the night he got them. Ripping them apart limb for limb without another thought. At first, he had no idea why he kept doing it, or why he found it so fun. But as time passed, he decided to let reasoning go and just let himself enjoy killing things. Still, anything that stayed alive long enough to be close to him, or rule over him, was left untouched by Silas. While he was, and is, going crazy slowly but surely, he still has enough morals to obey rules.
