Description

Image
    Full Name: Annamarie Weiton

Nicknames/Aliases: Black Widow as she known as in the rumors of the black market, as she jealously guards her secret to the material she uses in her ‘magic’ clothes. Those that buy her wares have heard from a trusted source..or managed to get lucky and stumbled upon her abode.

    Age: 23

    Gender: female

Species: Archanus, a species that look human enough at first glance. One common marker of this species is glasses, as members of these species have extremely horrible vision, practically blind without their glasses. Another oddity is their eye color, ranging from molten golden to an unsettling black. Notoriously shy of the human race, it is rare enough to find them outside their secular communities, those that do are younger and wanting to explore the world. The birth of their race has been rumored to be from the union of a young human and an intelligent, albeit monstrous spider..thankfully the physical traits of the spider are recessive. The most notable gift this race has is their ability to communicate with spiders as well as their surprisingly fast reflexes and balance on any surface.

Occupation: On the surface is a humble weaver, while in actuality is a seamstress of speciality magically-lined clothes, lined with a special material that can be granted various magical attributes ranging from giving the fabric a lighter feel to it, temperature control, and is currently developing ones with resistance to magic. The only problem with these clothes is that the specially threads takes plenty of time to collect and even be dangerous.

Description: Standing at about 5,3 Annamarie is nothing to take notice of in terms of her stature. Her hair is a platinum blonde color that reaches almost down to her ankles if its ever freed from a secure ponytail. The texture of it is extremely thin and soft to the touch almost like thread. The true draw to her physical appearance is her eyes, a bizarrely enchanting golden color with the pupils ebony in color. Her skin is a creamy shade of white as her occupation does not require much time spent outside and if she can avoid the sun she choses to do so. Her canines seem to be a bit more pointed than that of a humans and seem to grow slightly larger if she is angry. Her build is small and fragile looking, obviously she wouldn’t put up much of a fight in combat at least on her own.

Personality: Has a shy and quiet personality around practically everyone, choosing to be a listener instead of a talker. Even in her own element of her shop, she is reluctant to speak much even if its about her personal talent. Can be easily flustered towards any type of flirtation, which has on the occasion rendered her mute the first time it occurred. That is not to say she is a social recluse as she has insatiable appetite for human knowledge and will pose questions of her own like that of a small child going through their notorious ‘Why’ phase. Her temper is a rare occurrence in her life, yet she will weakly protest if her limits are being pushed too far.

Skills:Has an extremely gifted talent when it comes to needlework of any type. Her preference is through the use of a loom if she is given enough space and time for it. Her talent with actual sewing is still profound as it is what gives her the ability to thread clothing with magic, only a strand or two. These strands are collected from the webs of selectively bred spiders that range in size from your average everyday spider to one she is particularly fond of that is the size of a small canine. The webs they weave are the secret behind the threads, as their genes have somehow managed to be blessed with magic..all the threads need is a special touch.

That is her magical talent, her natural gift of talking to spiders and her ability to pluck out magical threads of elements from one thing to another. The threads she sees through her eyes are everywhere, ranging from the air around her to the simple lamp. To pluck these threads takes immense mental concentration depending on how solid the object is..threads form the air are nearly impossible to obtain. To prevent herself from mental stress, she developed another method to produce these threads through the use of spiders with a magical affinity.. To start the process of ‘elemental’ spider, all one needs to place an existing strand into the skin of the selected spider, who will hopefully accept it and spin a web of its own. The threads of the web would be blessed with a smaller concentration of magical power..but with enough them woven together, an original strand could be used to her clothing.

Weaknesses: Has extremely horrible vision were it not for her glasses she would be considered almost blind. Her smaller stature makes her relatively useless in combat situations and could easily be physically overpowered. Her crippling shyness of people who get to close to her personal space can easily be manipulated with the well-placed touch, causing her to freeze over so to speak.

Brief History: Her early childhood was growing up deep in some unknown forest with her family and few of the extended ones as well. Her natural talent for needlework appeared at a young age as it was not uncommon for her parents to find her gently coaxing smaller spiders into weaving intricate designs on their webs like some type of pet begging for a treat. In order to curb her desires to be a seamstress, her parents presented her with a beautifully crafted loom of her own, which she still has to this day. Yet, like any child her need to for knowledge grew as human traders on the occasion would pass through her clans forest, much of the time being lost and half-starved. When this occurred it became her link to the outside world as traders would be kind enough to share stories and legends from their own wanderings as a show of thanks to their hosts. A few select visitors were mages themselves, tutoring her own magical talents as a favor, regardless of how useless it was on its own

Her desire to see the human world overcame the well-intentioned advice from her loved ones, as a trader who had become friends with her clan would return biannually to those very woods. At the age of eighteen, Annamarie was ready to leave the nest..or well web one could say and immediately agreed to accompany the trader back to ‘human world’ under the guise of a fellow merchant. Although she made quite the strange sight to others as it wasn’t uncommon for her have several smaller spiders hitching a ride on her person or to hear her laughter as if the creatures were whispering jokes of their own to the young woman. These strange habits gracefully receded as to not attract unwanted attention from strangers
as she found that some humans were relatively hostile to magical beings regardless of how humans they looked. Eventually arriving to her chosen destination, she found herself as an apprentice under the guiding hand of a grandmotherly silk merchant, whose shop she passed on to upon her death. As a merchant of silk wares and fabrics, her affinity for magic began remerging after it had taken the backseat to her talents with needlework. A theory pressed itself as Annamarie began breeding a small colony of spiders in her own home, above her shop, beautiful webs lined nearly every section of ceiling that they had been allowed to occupy. Her discovery of magical clothes, was quite the accident as she was practicing her plucking upon an open flame, extinguishing it immediately as its life source was plucked and accidentally dropped onto a spider that had occupied her lap.

The spider itself let out a cry of pain, startling the young woman who watched as a faint reddish hue now branded itself on its thorax. The spider was obviously insulted and scuttled away to sulk for a few days, it was only until Annamarie discovered a faintly crimson thread that she investigated the spider, the thread although much weaker than a natural thread, had faintly presented elemental attributes. Weaving the strands together, she eventually created a strand big enough that it could have passed for a ‘natural’ strand, she stitched the synthetic strand into her glove and immediately felt the warmth from it spread throughout the fabric. Thus her new project was born
