Roy isn't a very complicated fellow. In fact, one might say he;s painfully ordinary. From his appearance, with his strong jawline and apt for suits, one would probably expect and individual far smoother and more charismatic than Leroy. Perhaps a wealthy playboy, or a charmingly aloof businessman, if one wanted to turn to the cliches and stereotypes. But reality contradicts these assumptions quite mightily, for in truth, Leroy is simply a well-to-do newspaper editor.
He is charming in his kindness, as his tendency to put others before him, and display concern over the welfare of even complete strangers proves him rather altruistic. He is witty, at times, but his awkwardness in most situations (particularly those that require charisma and suave behaviour) keep him from being cleverly smooth and silver-tongued. He can crack a joke, and carry on a conversation of repartee if the partner is suitable and he's committed enough, but he can lie in the slightest, and his excuses are rarely spun, and even more seldom believable.
Roy is certainly more of a listener than a speaker, with tendency to keep his personal stuff on the down low, giving out advice rather than following it. That being said, he's got a rather thick skin for such a warm-hearted individual, and doesn't get offended or hurt particularly easily. Not to mention when it comes to tragedy and grief, he avoids it with extreme determination, preferring simplicity and living to the overly complicated situations and lifestyles that many tend to immerse themselves in. Basically, he's more sitcom than melodrama.
Despite his awkwardness, and somewhat bumbling mannerisms, Roy's in fact a very intelligent individual. Naturally, his smarts lean more towards the likes of academic than street, and one can easily assume that at a glance. Or, to be more certain, a minute or two's conversation. He tends to stumble when nervous, filling silences with whatever he can if he feels it'll better benefit the opinion on whatever point he is trying to get across. He has a nasty habit of being wrong about this, but unlike with most other aspects of life, he never seems to learn or adjust.
He's a very gentlemanly individual, with a polite and almost refined way of speaking that could paint him as a white knight if not for his worried tics, which manifest into random gobbledegook when he is particularly anxious, or embarrassed. He may start spouting random facts, or, God forbid, puns, but on the bright side, one can be certain that he'll never be intentionally rude, and will display all the manners expected of a true gentleman.

So begins...

Roy looked at himself in the mirror, a torn, unsure expression on his face. He'd never been the extravagant sort, and there was no doubt that once he got to the party, he'd find that a great majority of the guests would have put a considerable amount more effort into their outfits than he. But by the time he'd caught wind of the news, most of the costume-hire shops had been swept clean by eager customers, and in the end, it had been this or a rabbit costume.
For the sake of his dignity, he'd gone with the former.
It was that knowledge that caused Roy to finally shrug, raising his hand as to tip his hat at a jaunty angle, commenting with a satisfied, "It'll do."

After about seven minutes of searching for a place to park his car, Roy had finally managed to slot between a red ferrari and a dusty BMW, and climbed out of the car with a smile as he surveyed the scene.
He'd never really been one for parties, either, but there was certainly an essence of fun in seeing everyone dressed up without fear of ridicule. Some were dressed to impress, in undoubtedly expensive Victorian garments and authentic-looking replicas of various streaks of pop culture -the likes of Iron Man suits and Storm Trouper uniforms- whilst others were flaunting the more daring of choices, the cliched 'sexy' line, with shirtless guys and girls in pint-sized dresses. Then there were the people like Roy, dressed up for the sake of fitting in, but none to concerned about whether they attracted admiration or sourced conversation.

"Roy, darling!" Roy looked up to see a Marie Antoinette lookalike beaming at him, and he offered a warm smile back, "Hey, Myrt." He duly noted that Myrtle fitted quite nicely into the 'dressed-to-impress' category, with her Marie Antoinette costume most certainly being worth a small fortune. "You look wonderful. It'll be a shame to see you decapitated." Myrtle tutted, shaking her head as though Marie Antoinette's true fate was terribly inconvenient, "Won't it just? My head is far too pretty to lose." Roy chuckled, and she looked over him, tutting disapprovingly, "Honestly, Roy. You'd better get some alcohol in your system. Even in costume, you stick out like a sore thumb." Roy offered her a wave, and a wry smile, as he walked towards the house. "If her majesty insists."

Five minutes later, Roy had a glass of brandy in his hand, and was looking over the dancing guests with content smile as he leaned against the bar. He didn't plan on joining the thrall, himself, but the sidelines were comfortable, and the brandy was good.
All in all, it was certainly a better way to spend the evening than his initial lack of plans would have assured.

As Victoria looked over the handsome youth before her, she quickly decided that his hair was probably her favourite of his physical features. It reminded her of the sea at night, inky and black, falling in softly tussled waves. She was half tempted to reach out and stroke them, to test and see if they were as silken as their appearance insisted. Her second favourite feature of his was a tie, torn between his chocolate eyes, with the thick, ebony lashes of a china doll; and his small, subtle smirk.
In most cases, the sense of self-satisfaction that radiated from the boy would have irritated her. However, ever since her becoming a vampire all those years ago, her patience had eased considerably. Perhaps it was to do with the knowledge she bore: No matter how smooth, how charismatic, he thought he was, he was human. Eventually, those lovely locks of his would grey and thin, his eyes would become hooked by crows feet, and his smirk would be far less used expression. Not to mention, if he pissed her off too soon before that, she could rip out his throat and be done with it.
A ripple rolled over his shoulders as he shrugged, replying to her comment with words tinged by nonchalance. "Love Halloween, just never was too fond of wearing costumes."
Victoria smiled, revealing a row of ivory teeth as she commented, "Really? The slutty nurses are my favourite part."

β€œOh, hey. Geez, you scared me!” The girl Aaron thought was Leonora said before shrugging. β€œNo, sorry. They didn’t want to come,” She looked annoyed that they had not come.

β€œOh, that sucks,” Aaron replied feeling bumbed, even pouting a little like a child who had been told he could have a second bowl of ice-cream. Leonora had told him all about her sisters and he had been looking forward to meeting them. β€œOh well, I suppose I’ll just have to see them another time.” Aaron grinned optimistically.

β€œUh, can you excuse me a sec?” She said, in a moment of embarrassment before she took off quickly. Leaving Aaron alone and not sure what just happened.

β€œOh, um, yeah sure,” He said to her retreating figure. β€œI suppose I’ll catch up with you later then,” he mumbled to the empty space where she had been standing, whilst he was frowning slightly. He could be just over thinking things, but it kind of felt like she didn’t want to hang out with him. He just shrugged his shoulders and shook off his frown. His natural grin reappearing. Aaron wasn’t one to get overly phased by things for very long.

He then walked off, wandering around the party, with a little happy bounce in his step, and a wide toothy smile. He was just soaking up the jovial vibe of the place, parties with lots of people around were he place. He bumped into a few different people he had met around town in the week prior. Giving them enthusiastic greetings. Then he saw Eve hanging out alone by the bar. It probably wasn’t possible with his smile got wider and he all but ran over to her.

β€œEvie!” He said giving her a probably too enthusiastic and rough hug. Resulting in him kind of roughly bumping a brunette man with glasses who was standing against the bar next to Eve. Aaron put his arms up the air in a sign of apology, β€œSorry man, my bad.” Aaron was just fortunate he hadn’t cause the man to spill his glass of brandy.

Then Aaron turned back to Eve. Erik had already known Eve. Apparently from what Aaron could tell it was a vampire thing, you kind of just run into each other all over, just being acquaintances. When Aaron met Eve though they just kind of hit it off, you know, those instant friend connections. Of course Aaron seemed to feel he had a lot of instant fried connections. Eve was like the older sister he never had. Plus she always had such interesting historical stories. Erik never talked about the past the way she did. Aaron completely looked up to her. β€œHow have you been!”

β€œOh, you mobster outfit is wicked,” He said grinning excitably. Of course Eve had a cool outfit choice, Aaron thought pretty much everything she did was totally cool. Of course in his eyes, when you were a couple hundred year old vampire, it was hard not to be cool. Especially considering, only two years ago, all this stuff to Aaron was only things he would read about in fantasy novels. Well, he doesn’t read, so more like fantasy movies, but you get the point. β€œYou even have the cigar and everything!”
