"Thank you Garrett. This means a lot to me." His smile widened a bit more as he watched her reaction to the gift. He had pleased the bride; his parents would be proud. For a few seconds, the two smiled at each other. He too, hadn't smiled like that in a while. Rose was the first to break the contact and speak.
"I'll give you your gift later on... Okay?" Garrett merely shrugged. He honestly didn't mind.
"That's alright. Long as you're happy..."It was true. As long as she was content, he was to be content. That is
love, isn't it?
Garrett's thoughts were disrupted when another man, appearing to be about his age. This man wasn't a human either, he was sure.
"Valorian Castor, you may call me Lord Valorian." Garrett raised an eyebrow and smirked. What an interesting man. He got a glimpse of Rose's reaction to Valorian's entrance and chuckled softly. No doubt, Valorian had grown up in the world where everything he wanted would be at his feet within moments. The other female seemed to chatter endlessly about Valorian and his 'snootiness'. His smile faltered and resumed his usual expression. He watched as the female scurried off to her room and return with a box of
cupcakes. Cupcakes. Sweets. Garrett's expression cringed with disgust. Rose motioned toward the table and he nodded in agreement. He followed her to the table and took a seat. He regretfully took one cupcake and stared at it. Garrett sniffed the cupcake and instinct told him to throw the cupcake behind him. He fought back this urge and slowly bit into the cupcake.
Sugar. Garrett gagged but continued to eat the cupcake, full of remorse and regret. Half-ignoring the conversation, Garrett fixated on finishing the task at hand.
"So...where are you all from?" ,asked one of the males, apparently bored and in need of conversation. Garrett had finished his cupcake and celebrated his triumph within his mind.
"I'm from up north. Where all--"Just then, a rather short female burst in. Well, this one seemed rather bubbly. He tilted his head, hints of a smile playing on his lips. He raised an eyebrow as she left after a few seconds. She came back though, with an unusually short pony, Cowbell.
"I have a tiger."Garrett shot a look of surprise, worry, and exhaustion at Rose. So a snake wasn't enough? He sighed and put his hands in his pockets. Valorian had returned, in much more formal attire.
"Horrible cupcakes. Good frosting, though." But yet, not so much of the formal attitude, in Garrett's eyes. He watched as Rose stood from her seat to pet Cowbell. The newest female had announced her name, Charisma.
"Garrett." He raised his hand at Charisma and put his hand in his pockets one again. He studied Rose closely, she seemed kind and delicate. Smart and calculating. Quiet, yet friendly. There were more things to her, he was sure. Ah, nothing like a mystery to keep you busy. He also found out the other female's name. Samantha. Or just, Sam.
Garrett watched as Valorian chatted with his bride, Samantha.
"Technically I'm supposed to be 25 years old...however, I'm actually 617 years old." Garrett's eyes widened. It's not everyday you meet a vampire that old, well to Garrett. Garrett merely watched on as the other's interacted. Soon enough, another person arrived. Vampire. Male. The man introduced himself as Aiden Rizoki. This man seemed
fearless. Garrett frowned slightly as a horse interrupted the light atmosphere that had just been forming. Garrett watched on as Valorian exited with Samantha after protecting her. Garrett left too, excusing himself.
He walked toward the door and picked up his luggage. He noted that Rose had left to her room as well. Garrett wandered around the mansion, searching for the fitting room. He saw many rooms, though only one stood out. Garrett slowly turned the simple doorknob and smiled with pleasure at what he saw.
The room was decent, with soft colors and plenty of books on certain shelves. The window provided a grand view of the scenery outside. Garrett gently closed the door behind him and set the luggage in a corner. He put his hands on his hips and looked around the room. The room was located far from the others,
perfect. Garrett left the room, just as Rose passed him with a bottle of booze in her hands. He raised an eyebrow and watched as she marched up her room. His eyes widened as he saw one of the males, Jack, exit the room with a small dragon on his shoulder.
I didn't think Rose was one for alcohol and men... My, what have you gotten yourself into, Garrett. Garrett shook his thoughts and walked up the stairs to her room and gently knocked.
"This is Garrett. Mind letting me in, Rose?"
