Physical Description
Upon first sight, the first thing one might notice about Haru are his bright green eyes. No matter what his facial expression, they always seem to glow with a malicious condescension. His short, reddish-brown hair is almost always kept unruly, simply because Haru doesn't brush it very often. He can most often be seen with a smirk on his face, as if he were constantly making fun of the world to himself.
Surprisingly, Haru is rather short to his chagrin. However, despite his slender-looking build he's actually pretty muscular, due to constantly getting into fights. He has a tan complexion, being the color of caramel. He has a tattoo of an eyedrop under his left eye, and one on his neck just under his chin. He also has a tattoo of a tribal pattern around his neck.
While Haru prefers loose clothing because they're easier to fight in, he usually wears a tight jacket and tight jeans for when he rides his motorcycle (which is quite often). However, he will usually wear a loose shirt underneath. He always wears his motorcycle gloves, simply out of habit. As for shoes, he prefers boots no matter what style they come.
Personality
Sarcastic, spiteful, and downright rude to the core, Haru isn't afraid to be blunt and speak his mind around others. To put it simply, he just doesn't care. A very independent and observant person, he has no trouble walking to the beat of his own drum, even if that 'drum' is terrorizing the streets. One thing about Haru is that he is nearly neurotic when it comes to money. If someone owes him money...watch out. He'll find you, and he will kill you. Probably. If you don't pay him, that is. That said, he isn't as greedy as one might think him to be. He simply hates being poor, and loves being able to live decently. Well, as decently as a gang leader could live, anyway.
"You there! Stop slacking off!" Despite his sardonic and malicious personality, Haru is actually a workaholic in his own way. When he's got a job to do, he simply can't rest until it's done. He also doesn't like to see people slacking off when he's given them something to do. Like a bright flame, he can't rest for too long lest he burn out. He can be impatient and hot-headed at times, and won't hesitate to yell at people.
"Disgusting. How's that 'sposed to help ya?" One thing that separates Haru from other street rats is that he absolutely abhors the use of drugs. He'll make it and sell it, but he refuses to take it. He also forbids any of the Plague riders from using drugs, on account that it makes them 'absolutely useless and pitiful'.
"Listen up! We're a family. Ya got that, ye idiots?" Although he's quite gruff, Haru is actually very loyal to his friends. Although he was a gang leader, he does have a sense of honor and isn't the type to let his friends take the fall for something he did. That being said, he has no trouble pinning crimes on people he doesn't know or like. Depending on ones perspective he can either be very courageous or very stupid.
Skill(s)/Abilities
- "Whaddya mean I need a license?": Haru is somewhat of an expert when it comes to driving a motorcycle. He is also proficient with cars, although trucks and big rigs are a bit out of his reach.
- "Trust me, I'll find ya, and I'll be collectin'.": In Haru's experience as a gang leader, he's come to know every street, road, and back alleyway there is in Throme. If there's somewhere he needs to go, there's a good chance he knows how to get there. It's also great for hiding from cops.
- "OPPAN SEXY STYLE! What? Is that not a good name for this?": Having gotten into quite a few fights in his time, Haru has basic hand-to-hand and weapons combat training. Although, one can't be too sure if alleyway brawling could really be called 'training'.
- "Well, hey there. What're you doin' out here so late?": Despite his sardonic personality, Haru can actually be pretty charismatic.
History
Do I really have ta tell ye my whole life story? I think it's unnecessary."
Even Throme, a place that seems the very epitome of peace and easy living, has it's darker, poorer side of town. Such is where Haru was raised, born to a loving and caring mother who seemed to always get the short stick in life. His father was a no good drug dealer/addict who seemed to constantly beat on Haru's poor mother (hence his grudge against using said drugs). His mother would go to great lengths to disguise the beatings from Haru, just so that he would grow up in relative peace and happiness.
And, surprisingly enough, he did. This was thanks to his father often being gone for varying periods of time. Time went on, and soon enough Haru was in high school. Now, while Haru could care less about making good grades, he was absolutely hated being called stupid for not knowing something. Not only that, but he tended to get bullied for it, believe it or not. And so, for his own sake, he studied hard and learned everything he could. In addition, he fought back against his bullies and defeated them (if you can call sending them to the hospital defeating them). Because of this, he was labeled a punk, a troublemaker, and a delinquent. Which, of course, he still is.
Thanks to Haru's hard work, somehow keeping good grades despite the fact he never did homework, he was going to graduate. Was. A month before the expected ceremony, tragedy finally struck. One day, Haru came home from school to find that his drugged-up, hallucinative father had killed his mother, finally having gone too far with his beatings. Harumitsu was devastated, torn, and enraged at his father's actions.
Enraged enough to torture and kill a man. He wanted revenge for her, and he didn't care if he had to move heaven and hell to get it. So, he gathered a few of his troublemaker, delinquent friends, and went back to his house. There, he exacted his revenge, taking care to make sure his father felt the same pain his mother did before her untimely death.
And so, after that day, Haru dropped out of school a little less than a month before he had been due to graduate. With that same group of friends, the Plague Riders were born, and they began to roam the streets night and day. To commemorate his....removal of his father and as a sign of respect for his mother, he got a tattoo of a teardrop just below his left eye. As time went on, he gained new tattoos and became more and more infamous as the 'Red Death'. Two short years passed this way, although the Plague Rider's infamy seemed to grow by the day.
"Where'd I get this nifty mask, you ask? Use your imagination, will ya?"
He says this, but in actuality he stole it.....four years ago, when he was twenty. However, he has not had the mask in his possession during that time. He had gotten caught, and was sent to prison for it. Luckily, he had been able to hide the mask before getting caught, and as such it had never been recovered by the police. Why only four years of prison for trying to steal such a valuable item, one might ask? Well, it turns out Itex was looking for the very same mask Haru had stolen, and as such had tracked him down to where he was being held. And so, they made a deal. In exchange for arranging Haru's early release, he would work for Itex underground. In addition, he would confirm that he was in possession of the mask, although he was allowed to keep it for his work.
Because their leader was sent to prison, the Plague Riders are currently disbanded. (I will edit this as the RP goes on and explain how the mask got stolen in the first place.)
