Setting
The stage was set for the Caninisian Empire to be created when one of these packs, the Caniniir, began forming alliances with other packs to build up its strength for dominance of the whole land. While intimidation typically worked to receive what resources or land packs disputed over, the Caniniir were not content with just intimidation due to the fact it did not always work. To prevent all-out war, however, they would offer up arena fights to the death, often a eight-versus-eight battle, to determine whom is led by whom. This method of conquest worked so well, it only took five decades or more for it to be completed.
The alpha male of the Caniniir at the time, Darqii'k, became Caninisia's first Emperor. Since then, the title of Emperor has been passed down to the winner of the Caninisian Crowning Games each time the previous one dies, which are no longer lethal, yet can accidentally lead to someone's death. The Emperor has absolute authority on many issues, yet allows for the various packs (the populations for which each number in the hundreds, these days) to make their own laws in other areas requiring such.
Like the Mysticarans, the Caninisians respect nature. Unlike them, however, these canine humanoids have some modern conviences, powered mostly by magical energy.
