History:
Lucian is the picture perfect golden boy. No matter what life throws at him he’ll always have a smile on his face. His father Ariston, a Greek philosopher, and his mother Liesel, a German writer, stumbled upon each other in a cafe in Greece and the rest is history. Luke grew up as an only child constantly moving and traveling the world with his eccentric parents. He made friends everywhere he went and developed a love for learning and trying new things. So far Luke knows 4 languages and plans to learn more in time. At the age of 13 while on a hike with his parents in the scandinavian mountains Luke felt a tightness in his chest. He soon began to feel severe pain and could hardly breath. Ariston carried him to the nearest shelter and they called for help. His parents assumed it was just the thin atmosphere that was causing the breathing difficulties. The MRI results in the hospital told a different story. Luke was diagnosed with Stage 1 non-small cell lung cancer. During his radiation and chemo treatments he asked the nurses to teach him about basic first-aid. When he went into remission at age 16 he took an EMT certification course and passed. He began volunteering and he hopes to be able to become a pediatric oncologist someday to help kids with cancer just like the doctors had helped him. At age 20 during a check up they found his cancer had come back but Luke’s hope for the future hasn’t wavered.
