Double the Strings=Double the Freedom
Name:
Serafina Giselle Foley
Nickname:
Sera
Age:
16
Appearance: (picture or words)
Sera is six feet tall with legs that are almost four of the six feet. Her limbs are all very spindly and her arms always float around her like jellyfish arms. Her skin is very pale and her hair is unruly, red, and looks like it was last cut years ago. She is not well-endowed in a feminine way: her hips are very narrow and her chest is flat. She never wears clothes that match and nobody knows whether she does this on purpose or if she just doesn't understand the idea of looking good. Furthermore, all of her clothes are hand-me-downs from her brothers so they're all rather large on her.
Musical Gift:
Mandolin (learned Violin first)
Personality:
Sera has never really had much self-respect, though she has a lot of respect for her instruments and those around her. She loves her music too much--so much that she forgets to take care of the rest of her. She can often play through the nights and mealtimes. Playing her mandolin, Sera loses track of time.
When it comes to her music, Sera is very humble and courteous towards others and her instruments. That was how she was raised to be. She's polite with others, but she's extremely socially awkward. She almost never says the right thing when talking to other people, so she tends to keep to her music. She writes most of her music as either Irish frost-type tunes or more American folk tunes. She also rearranges a lot of rock'n'roll songs for her mandolin.
Even though she was raised by five brothers and her father, Sera is extremely naive when it comes to thinking of boys in the romantic sense. she's never held hands, kissed a boy, hugged a boy, or even looked at a boy in that manner. She's always gone to all-girls school so she's never had to.
History:
Never knowing the whereabouts of her mother, Sera was raised by her father and five brothers. Her family owns a tea shop, "TEAven on Earth", in Ireland. All five siblings were expected to chip in working at TEAven throughout their childhood, but when Sera's father discovered that her social awkwardness made her an inadequate server of tea, he taught her to play his violin and sent her off to play at a boardwalk as way of advertisement.
Justis, one of Sera's brothers, was just as awkward as she was and would play the cello with her while she excelled quickly at the violin.
Eventually, growing bored of the four-stringed instrument, Sera ditched her violin and bought herself a mandolin, which had double the strings--therefore double the freedom. She made enough tip money eventually to buy another mandolin--an electric one.
She's in love with the mandolin.
other:
