Hiroto stood up and stretched after asking his question. From the way Mallory looked at the child, it was obvious to Hiroto that she didn't exactly know who he was either. She then asked him what his name was in a tone quite unfamiliar to Hiroto. He had rarely heard such a tone. Every now and then he would see a mother calming her crying child with the same tone. He had never experienced it himself, as his mother was never exactly loving towards Hiroto. He noticed that Mallory was also looking the child over. Most likely checking for injuries.
'I don't get what she has to act all sweet and nice for. Not like he's her kid or anything.' Hiroto thought, looking away with a bored espression.
"Arai." Hiroto heard the boy reply to Mallory's question. 'Arai, huh? Weird name. But I think one of the old chief bastards had a name similar. Irae or something.' Hiroto pondered. 'Wait. Why the hell am I thinking about something like that? I really gotta get my thoughts together. Probably still a little shaken up from the building escape.' Hiroto thought, trying to reason with himself. "I'm Mallory, and this one beside us, who saved you is Hiroto." Mallory began introducing herself, then Hiroto.
Hiroto looked down at them, expressionless and bored, starring the kid directly in the eye. Despite his polite actions, the boy was obviously somewhat intimidated by Hiroto's gaze.

"Now that introductions are over, we should think about what order of business we should take next." Hiroto began. "There are definately witnesses around here who will tell the cops about our involvement with this building crisis. Even if we're completely innocent, the authorities won't see it that way. I know a guy who can hide us, if we end up as wanted criminals or something." Hiroto explained. "I'm well aware that my idea is kind of farfetched, but its always good to think ahead in a worse case scenerio." He finished, before looking back down at the growing crowd bellow. 'Hu. They don't seem to mind being around that mess when the fires gone.' He thought to himself.
"But before all of that. Arai, was it? Where are your parents right now? Were they out when the fire started?" He asked, wanting to get rid of the kid as fast as possible.
He didn't want to have any hinderances around.

Mallory looked toward Arai after Hiroto asked about his parents. She was curious about that as well. Why did they leave a boy so young at home, anyways, and at this kind of time at night?
Then she froze. What if his parents had been in there after all? What if they didn't make it? She looked away from Arai to the demolished building and bit her lip.
Arai's eyes also went down to the building and he seemed to scan the area below.
Mallory could feel her hopes fading.

"There they are!"
What?
Looking down Mallory spotted and man and a woman who closely resembled Arai-They were talking to people, yelling and asking questions. It was obvious that Arai was being sought after by them.
Mallory felt foolish at that same moment, for instantly believing in the worst possible occurance, and held her hand out to Arai.
"Come on, let's get you down to them." She said as Arai took her hand.

By the looks of the damage, it was plain to see that she and Hiroto would most likely be the main suspects- or thought to have some part in it. What wasn't suspicious about this? Mallory, both angered and herself, and at those who would in the future falsely judge her, clenched her jaw.

Then she remembered, he gun- still lost within the rubble and debris. It would be linked back to her if the police found it.. But as the seconds passed it soon become clear that there was no way she'd be able to get near the site of the event.
Looking, slightly worn and exasperated toward Arai, she smiled.
"It'll just be a second," Mallory said to Hiroto as she opened the upper exit door leading to the stair-well.

Arai's parents looked more like Arai than Mallory at first glance thought. They were indeed yokai- though the wife appeared more like a human. Nevertheless when Arai made it to the bottom he ran as fast as he could to them and into their arms.

A happy ending, somewhat. Thought Mallory trying to stay somewhat optimistic.
After watchin Arai reunite with his parents Mallory ran up the stairs and back to the roof.
It was definitely time to start thinking of what to do now. Mallory knew that making light of this situation would be a horrible idea.

Saki walked back to Sakaima. When he turned around seeing her carry a severed head and a bag with blood dripping out, he choked. "What did you do? Are you a yokai?" Sakaima said. Then Saki said: "Well I am not exactly a yokai but a demon. You didnt notice right? My kind isnt liked very well because we prey on humans, yokai and weaker demon. So pretty much we are at the top of the chain. But I only take out criminals, like now. So you nor the old man wont have to worry."

Saki then saw Mallory and Hiroto and hopped over to them. "So what were you up to?"

"So what were you up to?"
How she asked that so casually pissed Mallory right off. Clutching back her anger, however, Mallory shrugged not wanting to explain that a few moments ago she almost perished in flames- taking a couple others along the way. She felt her fatigue catching up to her after all of the excitement. Her body felt sluggish and warm.
Maybe she was just tired- maybe that is why she appeared to be so annoyed.
But Mallory was curious of this girl- she must be a yokai of some sort, right?
The dizzying exhaustion for now was enough to keep Mallory from speaking anymore. She didn't have a firearm on her any longer- all she had was a measily leatherman which she recieved from her father before she came to Japan- yet that only had a small knife equipped on it.

"Well, while you guys were doing whatever, probably saving people in a burning by the looks of it. I took advantage of the situation and dealt with the attackers." Saki said and showed them the severed head of one of the attackers. "Since no one even thought about my identity, I will tell you. But do not run away in fear, get aggressive or have a negative reaction. I came to the city hoping to find more tolerance than in the 40s. I am a demon. A maneating demon to be exact. I live off of humans, youkai and other demon species. But to clarify, I do not wish to harm innocents and with this sack of criminal scum flesh, I should be able to survive for a week or two until I need more."

Mallory shivered. Gross. She thought looking at the gore- imagining herself as if she would ever have to do... that. She adverted her eyes.
"Well, thanks- I guess, for you know." She fought the urge not to stare.

The night chill was enough to calm and remind her that there still was a pressing matter at hand. It was nighttime, the police were out searching- and there still was the threat of the unknown, which could come to finish off what ever they were trying to do at any time.

She looked to Hiroto, "How about we save the meal for another day- hadn't you mentioned before that there was someone we could go and rest for now?" She tried, not wanting to sound as urgent as she felt.
Truth was, though, Mallory was only human- she needed to sleep once and day- and eat as well. She wasn't as adaptable as she would have liked to of claimed.
