Raikage's Mansion

Cresting atop the very pinnacle of kumogakure overlooking even the clouds themselves, a structure of considerable nature was perched upon a grand peak, surrounded by clouds on all sides, it was recognized to many as the raikage's office and personal quarters. The 7th Raikage, daughter of 5th Raikage Ai, Mai Yotsuki as she was known, was in the process of preparing a letter of utmost importance to send to Kirigakure's Mizukage, Ayumi Miyazawa. Close friend, confidant and pen pal. As a rule Mai avoided discussing village politics to an open letter to the Mizukage, preferring instead to talk about her life, her prospects and the fashions from Kumogakure, believing politics to be a toxic subject matter that causes divisions amongst friends.

Unlike her father she was very open to idea of opening lines of trade and communication to the other great ninja villages . However if she did not see to nip this bud personally with expediency, she would come across as a hypocrite in her actions and could very well jeopardize her standing with the Mizukage and her people. Word had got out that tracker ninja from Kumogakure were detained in Kirigakure, this of course turned out to be true. Mai gave the orders for the ninja to investigate Kirigakure on speculation from sources that the 8 tailed jinchuuriki had been spotted in the land of the waves, she did not ask for the Mizukage's permission for fear that there could have been a leak or that the 8 tails may have moved on waiting for Ayumi's response. It was a gamble that Mai was willing to stake her credibility as Raikage on. For her the detainment of the 8 tail jinchuuriki was a matter of personal justice.

Rei Yotsuki, her fathers murderer had been the most wanted criminal in the history of kumogakure's founding, he was also Mai's older brother which made things even further fractious as one could imagine. Mai was nearing the conclusion of the letter, pen resting upon blank surface. Thinking carefully before she wrote the following into sentence "I understand that what I did violates my character as a fellow Kage and friend, but please don't take this as an act of intrusion from the people of Kumogakure. It was my choice and mine alone to make."
She would then pen her signature under the disclosure. Sealing the letter with a cloud emblem.

The raikage now peforming a succession of hand signals, summoning forth a hummingbird her village's representative bird, she would attach the message to the wing of the bird seeing it off. Mai would then turn to the nearest Attendant who had been watching the Raikage deliver her message "Could you send for Namakura Yotsuki? Tell him that the Raikage intends to make trip to the land of the waves and I need him as a part of my personal entourage".

Walking along the streets of Kumogakure, Vita Shi wears a green dress with a white trim, the dipping neckline revealed a little more than what might be considered appropriate. Vita Shi had not been in the village for a few months, busy off on her own tasks, but something had drawn her here, something she would decline to inform anyone else of.

Fluttering her eyes at a man walking down the road, she bit her lip suggestively, causing him to walk into an open window. She smiled at him and continued down the road, enjoying the looks that she was receiving. Glancing up towards the Raikage's Mansion, she thought that it would be best to pay a visit to Mai Yotsuki. Suddenly vanishing from where she stood, she used body flicker to appear inside of the Raikage's office without smoke or flare.

Vita looked over at the Raikage with a smirk, "Hello again, Mai Yotsuki, how have you been? I thought it would be appropriate for me to announce my return. There is nothing of importance for me to report." Vita walked over to the desk and ran her fingers along the edge, biting her lower lip.

Vita laughed with an amused tone, "Mai, if I was going to assassinate you then I would have, but I have no desire to betray my village and I don't have a single reason to wish you harm." She reached up and ran her fingers through the hair before saying calmly, "If it would make you feel better, I can promise you that I will not bring you any intentional harm." Vita decided she liked this Raikage, for it was always better when women were in control.

"I imagine as a former ANBU you have many connections with the leaf and other villages with black ops, do you not?" Vita rolled that thought around in her mind for a moment, thinking of how best to respond. A smirk came over her face, "I have a few connections and some favors owed, I'd be happy to join you on your journey... No ones tried to kill me in a little while and I'm starting to worry that people will forget about The Death Princess" She said her nickname with a bit of mockery, she had never thought it made much sense herself, just something that she picked up.

"There is a treasure, my friend, something in our village of importance. I think it's best if we make sure nothing bad happens to our little prize." She raised her eyebrows as she spoke, intentionally being vague as to cloud what she might be referring to.
