Andri Nav'iadar and Rei Lic'Tre
"And so I stand, here at bliss's edge." Her voice was soft, echoing through the half empty room. The other inhabitant apparently never appearing after the first day.
"My wings have been torn, yet none have come to mourn." Loose hands wavered through the air, light purple traces slowing chasing the small limbs.
"Falling, I know none will catch me. Not even death will come to embrace me." The words flowed smoothly, only a slight meditative tone coming to her words. She was not singing, and yet no one could say it was normal talking as it contained some rhythmic patterns. Poetic, yet flawed.
"By friends, cast aside, by rule, a new place to reside." Her focus seemed unbroken, delicately shifting her movements to match the small story.
"To think that one life is so light, that my sin would become a blight...""I wish I could call, but all I did was watch her fall.." This voice echoed in response from the wall nearest the door. Obvious surprise came from Rei as she peered through the darkness.
"But my path hasn't been paved..... I can still go with the one I craved!" A light shone as her movements began to take place.
"Even without these wings, I can catch the one I want to match! " Her voice continued, the tone changed, and rhythmic pattern altered.
"If it is her sin, then I shall take her pain so she will never be stained!" Rei watched, a small smile coming to her lips, enjoying that Andri entered her small story.
"From the heavens I will fall, it is with you're side that I wish to collide!"Given the silence after Andri's little scene, it was taken the story would not be finished.
"Sorry for interrupting." The slight shifting of the bed was more than enough to tell Rei her sister's new location below her feet. Quietly leaning out to flip on the small desk light she looked down towards Andri.
"It's nothing, I was just having a little fun.. So what brings you to my little room Andri? Is breakfast ready?" Raising a finger, Andri's tone slightly raised. Mild eagerness taking to her voice,
"Actually this isn't your room anymore." From the tone change, Rei was already in the process of trying to sit up. It was normal for Andri to engage that tone only when she was actually excited about the news she was carrying.
"What do you me-" "We actually share a dorm now. It is posted by the cafeteria, room 104." Other than the excitement in her voice, she remained pretty calm. A usual trait when the two were alone.
"S-seriously!?" Rei quickly shifted to sitting on her news, perched forward almost in Andri's face.
"We get to be roommates!?" Andri only nodded while keeping that small smile of hers. It was rather amazing how calm she could be when behind closed doors. However, the opposite could be said for Rei.. Tackling her sister on the bottom portion of the bed she began laughing cheerfully.
"That's so awesome! Only a week in and they move us to the same room! We get to be together all night Andri!! We can talk about class, and teachers, and the other students! We also get to practice and draw together whenever we want!" Grabbing her sister's hand, Rei quickly pulled both herself, and Andri off the bed. Dragging her toward the door by her hand.
"Come on I want to see the post myself!" A slight giggle came from Andri as they reached the door, happy to see the true feelings of her sister even for a moment.
A moment of true color, that would quickly wash away when the noise from beyond the door would enter.
"So where is this post, Andri?" Her voice was tranquil, almost as if she had lost all hope in the surroundings. Only projecting towards Andri alone, like nothing else beyond her world.
"We go this way!" Andri tugged on Rei's hand as she lurched forward. The light grip from Rei being broken as she takes lead. Her world appears to be far more open than Rei's. So loud, so obviously apparent that it tries to reach out and pull people in.
"This way, this way! To the board of new room listings! Awoo" Rei stared quietly for a moment, slightly wondering what the random outburst of sound was, but came to shrug it off as the usual energetic girl Andri was.
"A.. Andri, why did you not tell me about this?" Rei spoke pretty much as soon as they reached the board.
"Tell you about what?". Placing a finger on the second notice, she dropped her head to the floor.
"Maybe the second notice that says attention all students in big red letters..." Taking a slight peek, Andri spoke in a useless defense,
"Because that one looked boring!!" Giving her a slight glare, Rei continued reading about it,
"You know it mentions there will be a tournament today.." Andri quickly push Rei to the side looking over the paper,
"Seriously!? That sound like fun!" Rei took a good minute to just stare at her sister, realizing that she seriously didn't even make it past the first line of the post.
Quiet laughter began as Andri laughed, making her sister slightly curious. That is, until Andri's laughter became almost maniacal, making a few other students back away.
"Andri... You are being too loud. Seriously, what deserves that kind of laughter.." Standing on her toes, she leaned angainst Andri and read over her shoulder. Barely making it to the fourth line before pausing to look at Andri in her peripherals.
"Today just seems to be your lucky day doesn't it?" Giving her sister barely enough time to back up, Andri whirled around to face her.
"Yep yep yep!! I get a full exercise today! And you get to be on my team!" The thought of being in a battle oriented tourney made her cringe lightly. Rei was not the biggest fan of fighting, especially when there was nothing going for her.
"What?" Andri could only smile as she pointed back towards the post,
"Mand~a~tor~y you have to participate". Already in a losing position, she had no choice but admit defeat.
"So now you pay attention to what the post says word for word...""I wanna go train right now! Come on come on! To the field!" Andri already became restless, as to be expected. She liked these physically exhausting tournaments more than Rei could ever hope for.
"Let's at least get breakfast first!" She would call after her energetic twin, only to receive a
"Surprise me", in response. Rubbing her forehead, Rei entered the cafeteria alone.
"....Surprise me...", Rei would mutter in repitition,
"I should give her an uncooked egg in a sandwich or something.. Making me get the food alone." Passing through the small line slowly, she took her time to look around at the various people. Only twisting back to look into her own plate when noticing who a few of the people were.
"Don't stand out. Don't stand out. The mutt is not here, the mutt did not follow me." Before she even realized, she was at the end of the line, without anything on her plate. With a light sigh, she went through the line again to actually grab food.
"Seriously, to forget to grab food, what the hell was I doing.." Making her way to a table, she would sit down and brace her head over the tray. Still slightly annoyed that she had to run through the line twice. She couldn't even remember what exactly she was thinking about that had distracted her mind so much as to not pick up food. Now is just seemed rather infuriating since it was something so small that she could easily forget.
"Andri.. I think I just had a moment that I would expect... from.." Rei's eyes narrowed as she stared at the empty seat next to her.
"Right..."Now going through the line for a third time, to grab Andri's food, she comes to tapping her foot at every stop. She was becoming impatient, mainly from the anger and annoyance she held to herself for doing stupid things. Then again, it was not unusual for her to be so deep in though that she naturally closed the world around her. Andri was generally the one to snap her attention out, but now she could just close off completely and become lost. The opposite could go for her red headed counterpart though. She thinks so little it is just as easy for her to end up forgetting a thing or two.
Rei smiled to herself, thinking about how oblivios they could both be without eachother. To think, the last school they had participated in forced them to be apart. Now they would actually come to be roommates, actual roommates. Not even just running over and spend almost every night in the others room. This would be how it was actually supposed to go.
"Andri.." A small exhale fell from her lips, almost as if some choked laugh wanted to erupt.
"I am still mad at you for sending me alone. So no fork for you." She spoke aloud, grabbing only one set of ware to eat with.
"We are together, at last.."
"And only the mountain man believed I could do it!" Andri spoke, beside what seemed to be a pile of punching bags. That is because, that is exactly what it was...
"Hehehe now I can get to practice and impress Rei by winning the tourney!" Grabbing a rather large tie of ropes, she began dragging the large mass across the practice field, being weary of the trees.
"I wonder if she would pet my head for winning... Oh oh oh! Maybe I can make a deal with her." Her mind was completely off in her own world so to speak, by the rarity of a chance to try and impress Rei, with something she is actually better at.
Stopping before a rather large pole, that was probably actually meant to be a light post for the practice field at night until Andri found it and kind of, bent it. She threw the rope over the bend, and grabbed for it as it came down the other side. Now pulling the bags up, she watched quietly, making sure to raise slowly. The bags were awkwardly held together by a rather vast amount of duct tape. By count, there was probably about nine bags, if you didn't count what might be in that giant ball of duct tape in the middle. This was supposedly one of the training exercises that a teacher had gone through at her age. Just, less duct tape, and a much, much bigger bag that may or may not have been imbued with magic..
Andri's smile changed to a rather awkward smirk as she reared back one of her arms. Punching forward with what seemed little power due to her size and scrawny arms. However, the bag made a full reaction, bursting backwards and around the pole as it swung the full circle. After a moment, Andri jumped back, once again with a smile.
"Yay!!! It works! Who else wants to try it?" She looked around to a few others around,
"It's really fun!" Before she even could notice anyone even attempt to approach she turned back around to return to the sack. Doing a stretch or two, she began to run towards the sack only to stop before it, placing a hand on the ground, rearing back a leg, and kicking it full force to once again send the huge punching bag in the circle. Before it could make the second rotation, she stepped infront of it, and hit it with an open palm to counter the power behind it and bring it to a stop, which probably isn't the biggest advisory to those practicing with a punching bag..
