Nogond looked at Ian and said," The Ghosts are the most ruthless assassins in the world. If you can find them and have enough money you can have them assassinate anyone you want. Once the killed the leader of a band of raiders, they raider had personally killed dozens of people but the assassins killed him without leaving a single trace. As I said before i was once member and was trained to become their ultimate weapon, but seeing that I didn't have choice in the matter I decided relatively early to escape. I didn't want to escape until i learned everything i could. The Ghosts have extensive knowledge of every fighting method that ever has existed and also have great practicing arenas. So when i turned 16 i decided to escape. By building a makeshift bomb I created a distraction and escaped. I can tell you that the Ghosts weren't very happy with my escape, but they accepted it and sent a message to me that said that they would wait if i ever wanted to return again."

Ian put his hand to his jaw in thought. "Do you have to be born into their society or can you waltz up and join?" He wanted to become better in combat than he already was, so he was looking for something like a trainer or a master under which he could study. "Do you know anyone I could study under?" Ian was looking for some answers too.

Nogond looked at Ian and said, "Either you are born into it or they invite you. I can't invite since I am basically an outcast at the moment. If you gain enough recognition they might take notice and invite."

"Well then," Ian said boastfully, "looks like I'll need to train more." He chuckled slightly and then turned to Nogond. "So, where are you headed? What business -if any- brought you so far away from civilization?"

Nogond began to feel his sociopathic instincts creeping onto him but he managed to calm them down and said to Ian, "This might scare you away, but a part of me wants to kill people from time to time. Usually when this happens i walk into the desert and meditate to gain control of me. However sometimes it happens that i see someone and I accidentally kill them."

Cathy looked at him suspiciously, eyes slightly narrow.

"Adam, what's it to you?"

she raised her chin.

"What a coincidence." Ian laughed. "Everything on my journey has tried to kill me thus far." He clapped his hand's together softly and rubbed the sand from his pants. "You wouldn't be the first." He finished dusting himself and grabbed is sword from the sand, placing it in its non-fighting position. "Where are you headed, after meditation?" He seemed unphased by this remark. He was generally accustomed to getting attacked by everyting but god and the air.

Cathy's eyes flew wide, "Adam? Really?" she didn't want to cry in front of him, but she was very close to it when he said about Adam. She'd cut that part of herself off, ready to cry about it later on. She swallowed, and clenched her fists. "Are you helping him now?" she asked, her eyes pleading ever so slightly. He turned away from her then and she fought the urge to reach out and turn him back to her. He was black-mailing her. She straightened up. "You know that is kind of cruel." she sighed, "What do you want?"

"No where. Idon't know where i should travel. Do you mind if I tag along with you?" Nogond said. It would be nice to have a companion he thought.

He stuck out his hand. Nogond shook it. "I'm heading to California. I heard there were opportunities there. First, I need some replensment. I'm going to die if I try to travel in this condition." Ian said through a dry mouth with is stomach growling.

Ian only took a small sip from the bottle. He didn't need much and he wasn't going to dwindle down resources. "Alright." He agreed as he followed Nogond. He pulled his blade slowly and cleaned it with a little water, then oiled it. He showed great care toward it then put it in its scabard. He used a little water on his knife. In all, he'd used about a fifth of the bottle. He knew how to conserve.

Josiah had always wondered about the cities but The Forgiven had always told him that only evil existed there. He thought about it and looked at his Bible. It was his duty to get rid of evil as a Christian Soldier. He stepped forward and said "I'll go to the city!"

Cathy's eyes widened, the city? Seriously? Her people told stories of such places, horrible stories, even saying that her parents had once gone there. She frowned, about to answer that he had to be out of his mind when someone interrupted, saying that he would go. She turned to look at him, "Excuse me, I think he asked me to go." she smiled a little, then turned back to the older man, "I'll go, if you can show me that Adam is getting the care he needs. And if I get back and he's dead..." she trailed off as she gave him one of those 'if looks could kill' looks.

Josiah didn't listen to the girl as he said, "Yes, I am a one of The Forgiven, if I may be so kind to ask... who are you?" He didn't even wait for a response, it didn't matter, the man did not seem to be the hero that his soldiers had claimed to be. Anyone that would send someone to their deaths on the threat of blackmail was not someone to be trusted. Josiah wasn't dumb, he decided to help the girl, either to protect or save her. He had heard something of the atrocities that had happened in the cities but he knew that God would protect him and if not, he had tried to follow the Law as best as he could. "Even if she does go, I don't want anyone to be hurt." He turned to the bandit girl, "I'll go to help you."

Cathy folded her arms, feeling slightly relieved that he was allowing her people to go free. Liza ran to her and hugged her tight, Cathy held her back. "Don't worry, I'll keep Adam safe." Cathy promised before Liza was pulled away by one of the men and her people began to make their way out of the small village. Cathy swallowed and turned back to Darcuz. She raised her chin, looking at him without hesitation.

"What are we waiting for then? Let's get to your base."

Josiah did pray, and then he decided to follow the group. Hopefully, he could do it well enough that he wouldn't be seen. He backed into the crowd before anyone remembered to talk to him again. He put up his hood and eyed them as they started to walk away. Then he crouched low and strafed through the crowd into a dark corner. There he waited until the others passed by. From there he would always stay behind them.

Upon reaching a small area with a tent and a fire pit, Ian looked to Nogond. "This is your camp, I take it?" He said with a twinge of discrete satisfaction. He'd not seen a set-up bed or area in a year. "Where shall I sit?" He asked, making sure to not topple the arrangement.

Cathy stayed close to Adam as he was carried down to the infirmary, she could see now that the shot had landed in his stomach, a wound that could be fixed, at least she hoped so. He was set in a bed and she actually heard him groan as a doctor came to him to examine the wound. She sighed, at least he was alive. A soldier put his hand on her shoulder and moved her away from the bed, she held a hand to her chest with the other as if trying to hold herself back. She looked up at the young soldier who offered her a comforting smile. "Will you see Darcuz now?" he asked her. He looked to Adam's bed, "He will be fine."

"Your leader shouldnt have bloody shot him in the first place." Cathy grumbled.

"Yes well, he didn't realise that he'd find you did he?" the young soldier began to steer her from the room.

"And what is that supposed to mean?"

He smiled a little. "You are rather rude for one in your position." he frowned.

Cathy pressed her lips together and folded her arms, allowing the young soldier to lead her into the office where the man who had offered to help her before was already waiting.

Cathy licked her chapped lips, "Yes, thank you, just don't let him die." she shrugged, knowing that nobody could say for certain if he would live. She just hoped that Darcuz's people would do all that they could to keep him alive, it was a matter of trust. And she had very little of it for these people. She folded her arms.

"I have been told that the evils of Hell itself reside there," Josiah said wistfully, "But I truly doubt it. I'm sure that it's just the ruins of an ancient civilization." He really didn't know much about the cities at all but it wouldn't hurt to disclaim any fears by making assumptions. He just had to be on the ready in case there was something to be afraid of.

"Hello!!!!" Ian yelled, pacing the remains of the burned town. "Is anyone here!?!" He was hoping for a nonviolent reply. Things hadn't gone his way recently. Bear attacks, helpful hostility, and destroyed signs of civilization filled his recent memories. He didn't want to fight, just find someone who could take him to more people. He grew tired of living alone. He turned to meet footsteps comming from behind. A squirrel, quite larger than most, jumped away. "Damn... no one? The ashes are still wet and fresh though." He pondered and waited for an encounter. "HELLO!!!!!!!" He yelled once more, much louder than before. He held his Nodachi in steady as to defend himself if needed.

Having waited a while for a responce and not gotten one, Ian started to walk north. He was hoping of finding someone who could tell him what's been happening. He walked for a few hours with no success and, after scrutinizing the earth, found a path that had been freshly worn down. He decided to follow the trail which led deep into a slightly wooded area and came to a hill. "God, this is taking forever. When will I come across people who I can talk to?!" Ian yelled his question out as it echoed acrossed the side of the hill and up it. The echoed words "I can talk to" shot into the air like gunfire and became noticable for anyone in the area.
