Personality:

Image

Yuuki is not be looking to make friends initially, she came to Airdalen to study well and get a good recommendation for college in the end game (her goal, not mine for her..~). She would be a little rude, uninterested in others, but compliable because she doesn't want to get in trouble at school. She can speak to others proficiently when it is about school and classes, but struggles to express and discuss personal matters very well. In a recreational setting Yuuki grows hesitant or tries to go back to studying to avoid the stress and distractions brought on social interactions. She doesn't realize how important making friends really is, and believes she doesn't need or want friends, but deep down she is very lonely. She made a choice to be antisocial as a child in order to get better grades and help her parents in the future. She's actually very calm and collected, and is only timid when she likes someone (as a possible friend or love interest). She has a very serious quality to her personality (Will change with time as she opens up.)

Image

Although she converses with other people; Yuuki isn't the kind of person that would joke around, play pranks, or participate in immature behavior. Other than her parents she doesn't have anyone she currently has emotional ties to. She isn't afraid that others might not like her (Though those she wants as friends in the future will be an exception), in fact, right now, Yuuki goes out of her way to tempt others to hate her. She isolates herself on purpose, because she is afraid her grades will plummet and that she won't get in a good college, or that she'll lose her scholarship.

Weaknesses

Socialization
Image

She hasn't put a lot of effort into socialization since she was young. Despite being intelligent, she does not play well with others. Sure, she can talk about school and her studies all day, but she's not very skilled at 'chilling' or 'hanging out' with people. She lacks a social life and becomes shy when she is the subject of attention. She doesn't want to be pitied or given charity by her classmates, so she keeps her private life to herself and avoids spending recreational time with others if at all possible.

Common Sense
Image

Despite her book smarts, Yuuki is very naïve. She is easily fooled and is an opportune target for pranks. She doesn't have a lot of street smarts and definitely would be the small fragile girl walking home in the middle of the night through a dark alley. She doesn't put a lot of thought into her words and it can sometimes get her into a misunderstanding.

Athletics
Image
She gets an A in gym, but it doesn't mean she's good at sports. Yes she can run and jump, but as far as ability goes, she has none. She can run a mile and she can do push ups, but she is by no means strong or athletic. She leaves this one to the jocks. She avoids participating in sports at all cost, but sometimes she isn't lucky enough to get out of it.

Strengths

Academics
Image

This was definitely an acquired skill, seeing as she has spent almost half of her life studying, thus far. She does exceptionally well in school, but she should considering she lets school consume her life.

Responsibility
Image

She feels a certain sense of responsibility for her family now that her father has been sick for quite some time. She became a serious and driven girl ever since. She doesn't let others down and does what is expected of her academically, by her teachers, and as far as chores around the house are concerned.

Family

....
Mr & Mrs. Fujioka.
Image

Although she doesn't live with them, Yuuki misses her parents a lot. She constantly worries about her parents and it makes her strive to study harder. Living alone was the hardest thing she ever had to agree to do. Her father is very supportive, but her mother isn't exactly fond of the idea, but realizes that Yuuki is old enough to make her own decisions as far as choice of high school is concerned.

History

Image

Yuuki was born to a happy, humble family. Due to her family's low income, she was the only child of Sakura and Akihito. They spent a lot of time together, smiling and goofing off. They dressed Yuuki to the best of their ability, leaving Yuuki oblivious to how poor her family actually was. This lasted for a majority of her time in elementary school, but she was forced to accept the world for what it was when she turned ten years old. Her life changed dramatically, and the smiles faded from the home.

Image

She found out about their financial situation, because her father fell ill. Her mother had to take on a second job just to support the family, afford Yuuki's father's medical bills, and pay the rent. Yuuki offered to get a job as well, but her mother told her that if she wanted to help her parents, Yuuki would have to focus on her studies. Taking her mothers words perhaps a bit TOO seriously, Yuuki cut off all ties to her friends little by little. She stopped hanging out and quit going to the park as well. She was only ten years old but she began cooping herself up in her room. She began spending the entirety of her waking hours studying, eating her mandatory meals, or attending school. She pushed her social life aside so she could get into a good college and get a well paying job that could afford better treatment for her father and let her mother go back to only working one job.

Image

By the time Yuuki made it to middle school, she had no friends left. She did grieve the loss in silence behind closed doors, but she had a single goal and was willing to sacrifice her own happiness for a few years. She had all of adulthood to make friends, right? She began going to cram school, willingly. She was made fun of constantly for her perfect scores and serious attitude, so she became rude and distant to handle the ridicule. Their words hurt, but she made a promise to her mother and she was determined to keep it. Although coming across as a rude elitist, Yuuki is a kindhearted and altruistic girl. She is very innocent and gullible, often making her the subject of bullying until she formed her rude outer persona.

Image

Now she is beginning high school and she is just as determined to let nothing stand in her way. She enrolled for several schools, including Airdalen. She took the entrance exams, but didn't expect much considering it was a school for the rich and academically elite. Though low and behold she got a scholarship in the mail and suddenly none of the other schools she applied for mattered. She knew Airdalen was her ticket to all the best colleges, she just had to try hard and keep perfect scores. Her dream was finally close to becoming a reality..

Though she was nervous, she didn't know anyone at this school and it was very far away. Even in the cheap apartment her father rented, using the last of his savings for her so she wouldn't have to travel as far. Yuki has to get up early and take the train, an experience she's never had to deal with before. This would be her first time living alone and to be honest she is nervous and a bit scared.

Image

It's time for school.

~~~
" ....I think I'm in over my head... "
~~~
" ...It was only a school dance, it doesn't change anything... -ahem- We'll go back to being strangers now. "
~~~
" I just can't seem to avoid him. We are both class presidents and I still want to help him out when he's in a bad situation... why is that? "
~~~
" I've said things I cannot take back. I'm not sure where we stand anymore, but perhaps that's for the best. Harigae-Senpai is very...distracting. "

" He's actually very beneficial. It's not often I find someone who doesn't get in my way. "
~~~
" Whether he meant to or not, he prevented me from being trampled by the crowd... but he heard my awful French! That wasn't my brightest moment. "
~~~
" He's offered to help me study, and I do have his number... Oh my lord... I hope none of those people find out. "
~~~
" He's a very good senior partner. I'm fortunate to have him. I do feel slightly competitive as far as Academics are concerned now that I know he speaks French quite fluently. "
~~~
"He's an invaluable senior partner. I hope I can live up to his expectations."

"Oi! Break it up!" Sora had withstood a heavy beating when a voice called out to the both of them to end the fighting. He was yanked by the shirt again but by a different boy he had not met before with feminine features (Akira). While Sora wanted the fighting to end, he also thought the effort was futile as the individual to notice them had broken their concentration by attempting to handle both of them. Sora was not a threat to the situation. He would have shared his thoughts aloud if not for the constant coughing of blood as he struggled to breathe. He felt his body shoved away from the other (Saburo) making his stance wobbly. He would have fallen if not for the touch of someone else (Yuuki). The Yuuki girl helped him to sit down on the floor. After a few good coughs, he managed to regain his breathing but could still feel painful throbs throughout his body. It would not be going away anytime soon.

"You need to be cleaned up before infection sets in. Trust me, both of my parents are doctors." Another voice entered the scene and he could barely make out Shiori's face with his vision becoming unclear. He remembered her from some classes in the past as they were both seniors. Sora could feel her give something to him but he was not sure what it was. He had been spoiled enough to never have treated his own wounds. Sora accepted the items as his hand fell to his lap unsure of what to do with the little packets. "There is a girl nearby! You could have hit her! And for what? Stupid pride!?" He could hear the white-haired individual yell more about the fight not taking any sides. Sora was about to speak up that he would not have hit anyone but was cut off by more yelling. "We're too old for this stupidity! Do you realize how easy it is to actually kill someone like this!?""It only takes 15 pounds per square inch to break both human neck and the skull." Sora did not know this fact and would have been interested if the pain was not distracting him enough.

"I don't care which of you started this, but apologize to the girl that you could have hurt, both of you!" Sora twitched in agony as he turned to look at who the boy was pointing at. He had to disagree. Sora did not believe he owed the girl with glasses an apology. "Harigae-Senpai should not apologize!" The corners of Sora's mouth lifted a little to form a grateful smile before he coughed out blood again. He was glad that someone had common sense to see he was innocent. "Hmph. You can't expect idiots to comprehend common manners. Class is born, not earned. Money has nothing to do with it." Shiori the other senior present had a mouthful to say about wealth although he was not able to hear all of it. Sora disagreed with class being a trait an individual is born with but for now he could not talk properly. His thoughts would be silent ones until his breathing were not so painful. Sora was prone to black out if he kept exerting himself.

Noises and voices were surrounding him. Sora began to care less about what every one else was doing as the pain was setting in worse than it had felt before. He thought he could have broken something but he was not a doctor. The pain had just made him believe that to be the case. Sora did not participate in the talks around him but a tall boy (Rhys) had knelled down to inspect him. That was when Sora took the opportunity to inspect himself. He was a mess and was unhappy that his clothes were stained in his own blood. If he could, he would make the red haired one (Saburo) to do his laundry as compensation. "I don't know who did what but we should get you cleaned up." The boy with long hair (Rhys) placed a towel on Sora's head. Sora's head initially sunk at the weight of the light object as he was weak but the tallest one present (Rhys) reminded Sora a lot of his ex in the way he behaved. His hand reached up to grab hold of the towel to wipe the blood at the corner of his mouth. Sora thought he probably does look like a vampire right now. He had one last sight of the cool western looking boy (Rhys) before passing out, dropping the towel and falling forward against his chest. Sora had lost energy to stay conscious.

"He's got my attention now, and it seems that dude has got him under control. He's not gonna do anything else. I promise."

"Hai, Hai.." She replied in a halfhearted tone, Yuuki knew better than to blindly listen to promises, but she physically felt reassured, even if her logical mind refused to accept such a notion, especially from a boy who had been hit just moments ago. If he couldn't protect himself from a punch, her brain told her that he obviously would be unable to protect anyone else. However the fight had been successfully broken up, so she was left on the fence as far as gauging the capabilities of the two boys (Akira and Johnny) was involved. They managed to free Sora from the hostile situation, but not without casualty.

"Hey Aki-- Blake-san, you alright man?"

Yuuki was ultimately surprised when a third male tore through the indistinguishable crowd of people, checking on the ivory haired boy. She was surprised by this, seeing as the third boy was quite tall, and was more concerned with the feminine boy than the actual victim, Sora. Though it goes to show that a fight always left everyone in a bizarre frenzy. She honestly wasn't sure how the human race lasted this long with these priorities. She kept Sora stable, seeing as she was the only thing between him and the floor, even if they now were pretty much in a sitting position. She couldn't let his head rest on the hard gym floor, especially after the beating he'd taken interrupting the bullying session she had been enduring. Whether he was defending me or had some other motive, this is still all my fault. I did not have to stoke the fire and argue with that vermin She did not often feel strong emotion, aside from helplessness, but she suddenly felt a wave of guilt. It came on so strong that she felt absolutely nauseated, she could barely focus on the conversation around her.. Though perhaps some of her inability to think clearly could have been brought about by shock, but once again, she was not thinking straight so the thought hadn't crossed her mind.

"I don't know who did what but we should get you cleaned up."

Yuuki looked to the packets of alcohol wipes that Shiori had left, wondering why Sora hadn't used any of them. Seeing as she was quite poor, she did not take into account that Sora might not have known how to use such things. She looked to the long haired stranger (Rhys), then nodded her head in agreement. Sora needed to get cleaned up, because a gym wasn't the most sanitary place to get in a fight.. as it stood, he would be exposed to numerous unhealthy germs if his wounds were not properly sanitized and dealt with.

"Hai, hai.. You're scaring some of the girls with all of that blood.."

Yuuki wished to argue against that statement, but even a girl as logical as herself was terrified of blood. Ever since her father's illness she had an unrealistic fear of the substance. She knew that it was silly to fear something, especially something that did not inherently cause others harm. She supposed she was afraid of what blood often associated with, including violence, illness, and death. Yuuki was suddenly shocked when the feminine boy (Akira) placed a hand on her head, her body producing a slight jolt upon the physical contact. She relaxed a bit when she realized that the boy was simply checking on her, and allowed him to mess up her typically unruly hair. It was a bit soothing, but had she had her wits about her she definitely would not have allowed it. It was a good thing for him that she had been so traumatized from witnessing her first 'fight' in person.

"Are you alright? I might just have to start another fight if a girl as cute as you got hurt. What's your name? I'm Blake, Akira, a first year."

She wasn't sure if the boy was attempting to flirt with her, or if he was simply a friendly person, but she stared at him for a moment as she attempted to distinguish what type of person this 'Akira' boy was. She did not like to associate with creeps, nor was she interested in amusing someone who wished to philander about from woman to woman, "...Fujioka, Yuuki... I am a first year as well.." She replied in a relatively quiet but much calmer tone than she had used since this entire mess had begun. She was beginning to return to her usual self, which also included her attitude, but that had not fully restored itself as of yet. She still had to mentally process this entire situation. She was taken by surprise when Sora lost consciousness, falling against the long haired boy (Rhys). She was not aware of why the girls in the room were suddenly squealing, but instead she retrieved one of the alcohol swabs and ripped it open, beginning to wipe at Sora's face, "Should we take him to the nurse's office?" She asked the two boys (Rhys and Akira) as she continued to clear blood from Sora's face. She opened a second packet once the first wipe had been cashed out, starting up again. Blood ended up on her fingers, but she was so concerned with cleaning Sora up that she did not notice it just yet. In order for her mental status to return to normal, she mentally assessed that Sora would at least have to look normal. All that blood was really freaking her out, "Do you suppose he has a concussion? If he does, we should try our best to wake him. After all, passing out is quite dangerous under those circumstances.." Even though she was still slightly shaken up, Yuuki was regaining her strategical thinking, thus making more rational and far less emotional decisions as she had time to adapt to the situation at hand.

"Woof" This, and the act of spitting on Saburo's face did not help the situation at all for Sora. In fact, it gave the Junior a renewed vigor in his attack before being pulled away by an unknown force.
"There is a girl nearby! You could have hit her! And for what? Stupid pride!? We're too old for this stupidity! Do you realize how easy it is to actually kill someone like this!?" Saburo turned to face the owner of the voice, a white haired boy a few inches shorter than himself (Akira).
"He's right you know...It only takes 15 pounds per square inch to break both human neck and the skull." The speaker this time was an even shorter black haired girl (Shiori).
"I don't care which of you started this, but apologize to the girl that you could have hurt, both of you!" The brown haired boy's eyes narrowed, who was this guy to talk to him like that? The black haired girl said something else, but it was drowned out by the rage building once again in Saburo's head. "I HATE pacifists..." was all he mumbled before a left cross from his own fist connected with the face of the white haired boy.

Just as suddenly as he had punched the other boy, Saburo was lifted into the air and placed over the shoulder of someone. The enraged adolescent was taken back by the turn of events. "What the fuck?! Put me down you shit! He struggled to no avail against the person carrying him away. “Whoa whoa, dude! I dunno what just happened, but let’s chill out, a’ight? Shit, I mean…” Saburo knew a little English, so he caught a few parts of what was being said, but was even more confused when the voice switched to Japanese. “Uhm, Stop. Cold the blood… heat?” What the hell was up with this guy? After being carried some distance from the scene of the fight, Saburo felt himself being put down. His wild eyes darted to the one responsible for embarrassing Saburo in front of everyone in the gym. A foreigner (Johny).

Now Saburo dislike a lot of things, poor people were one obviously. But foreigners were not not too far down the list, especially if a particular foreigner made a fool of him. This particular foreigner would be safe though, for now at least. The anger and adrenaline began to leave Saburo's body moments after leaving the scene of the fight, or more accurately, carried. “Are you done? You feel okay now?” Saburo pushed the foreigner away from himself. Not with the anger that was present earlier, but in a tired and exasperated way.
"Go to hell" He spoke without vigor before walking out to the hall. Saburo soon found what he was looking for, a water fountain. After a long drink, the boy washed off his knuckles, revealing the bruising that had already begun. "Fuck" he sighed to himself.

He'd have to figure out a story before he got called to the principles office. Interestingly enough, Saburo was quite good at making up things that happened, mostly from practice. Now he'd just wait until the inevitable happened.

Johnny “Jay” Farelli

Johnny was not at all bothered by what basically amounted to an immediate rejection. Very unlike many kids at his age, Johnny thought it was really no skin off his nose. Frankly he was outright relieved. Fuckin’ encouraging straight-up dates on the second day? This school is really strange. Wonder if my sisters are having a similar experience with college…

He was perfectly chill with the proposition, where if they’re both without dates, they’ll partner up. Prior to noticing the fight he replied, “A’ight, sounds cool!” He had to run to break up the fight before he could properly answer Tsukiko’s question about what sports he was going to play. Swimming and basketball, One was his favourite, while the other held a greatly sentimental value.

Maybe he should’ve mentioned that he had joined Band as well. After all, Tsukiko’s a musician. Too late to say so, however. Now, Johnny was fully focused on the chestnut-haired boy Saburo, whom he had probably humiliated without meaning to. Saburo used the same unfamiliar words as Johnny heard yesterday when he ran past assorted pedestrians. Maybe those were swear words after all. Definitely don’t mention them to pops.

Saburo shoved, though the action was not done with as much force as the earlier punches. This seemed to answer Johnny’s earlier question. He let go of the boy’s shoulders as he was shoved. With a very un-enraged “Go to Hell” as a form of thanks, Johnny stood back and watched as the other boy left the gymnasium.

He probably was provoked. A truly hateful person would have kept the anger up and swung at me. Johnny thought with a smile. Facing away from the bleachers, no one could spot Johnny's smile, Hm... I wonder what kind of music he listens to.

With his smile faded, Johnny glanced back to the other boy who had been punched repeatedly, as well as the albino boy, and the growing crowd around them. The foreigner at-first opted not to get in the middle of the crowd. For one, there were too many cooks as it was. For two, Johnny wasn’t sure what he could do to help. Sure he knew how to treat sports injuries- as was required for him to continue playing sports back in his old home- but this looked like internal bleeding from a fight, not an accidentally twisted ankle. The school nurse would be greatly needed.

With one more glance to the closing double-doors that indicated Saburo’s departure, Johnny finally sighed in relief and moved back to the bleachers from the middle of the gym floor. By then, he noticed that the scrawny blue-haired boy had fainted into the arms of a boy who seemed to resemble Johnny- at least in terms of physical fitness. (Rhys) This particular boy had a sharpness to his eyes that reminded Johnny of some of the tougher dudes he had faced off against in sports back home.

He would have taken the time to appreciate this guy’s hair if not for the fact that the blue-haired boy was unconscious. Definitely not a fun sign. “How's he-” Johnny stopped his English question part-way through. Now that he thought about it, the question was really not needed. Johnny could tell the two hits on the blue-haired boy were quite nasty, especially considering how the blue-haired boy resembled skin and bones compared to the muscular crew that basically surrounded him at this point.

The two other boys (Rhys and Akira) seemed perfectly capable of carrying Sora to the nurse’s office. However, there was that one violet-haired girl, Fujioka-san. Johnny only took one look and he knew something was deeply bothering her. Johnny crouched down to one knee to meet Yuuki at eye-level. The foreigner asked in Japanese, “Fujioka-san, you feel okay?” Damn, it was a good thing he remembered the name. This time around, he said it pretty competently. He put on a comfortable, reassuring smile. Hopefully this would cheer her up. She didn't look so good.

Rhys listened attentively as Akira spoke. "Hn well I'm glad you are okay." he said while rubbing the back of his neck with a sense of restlessness. Akira continued to reassure him but Rhys' anger did not die down at the apparent bruise on his face. He had not known Akira for long but he didn't take violence lightly if it went undeserved.
"I'd like to say you should see the other guy, but I was distracted so I can't."
Rhys wore a daring smirk as he spoke before wiping it away with his thumb. "You'd have to point him out to me" Rhys was confident in his strength and endurance but despite the smirk, he was also not the type to go looking for trouble. He had missed the fight and thus, missed his chance to defend anyone. Rhys could only wish he had stepped in sooner but then again he was not the type to burden regrets.
"It's no big deal, it just looks bad. I've had worse, ya know??"
When Akira turned his head, Rhys took the opportunity to inspect the bruise by pinching his classmate's cheek lightly an inch away from the affected area. "Remind me not to cross paths with you on a bad day. You sure can take a punch." Rhys joked to lighten up the situation before attending to the more injured one (Sora).

Out of the corner of his eyes, he observed Akira flirting with Yuuki mildly interested. Akira was not the type he pictured as flirtatious but it seemed he had underestimated him. He moved his eyes back to Sora, addressing him casually about the fight but not asking of details. He talked only enough to show that he meant no harm and was there to assist. It looked like the blue-haired stranger had taken a rough beating. What made Rhys feel off about the fight was the stranger's reaction to the situation. He was coughing out blood and out of it, yet his expressions were not of anger or fear. Did he see the fight coming? He looked down at the wipes again considering opening them. Kitogawa-san huh? That particular detail stuck out to him more as he recalled Akira mentioning her having come over. He picked up one of the packets analyzing it between his fingers as the stranger was occupied using the towel. This one is in worse condition than I was yesterday but she seems to have dropped these off and left? I guess she was being honest about me being her responsibility...

Before Rhys could continue to be lost in thought, he noticed the blue-haired one's grip had loosened on the towel as it descended on the floor. His eyes momentarily distracted by it, he was surprised by the weight that knocked against his chest. Rhys looked down to see the injured guy's head had fallen against him. He could only sigh matched with his usual grouchy expression.
Rhys was soon joined by Yuuki as she started to tear into the wipes and wipe at the boy's face.
"Should we take him to the nurse's office?" Rhys remained quiet and still until the next question, "Do you suppose he has a concussion? If he does, we should try our best to wake him. After all, passing out is quite dangerous under those circumstances.."
Rhys brushed back his bangs with his fingers as if frustrated before allowing them to fall over his face again. He closed his eyes as he spoke, "It seems we're visiting the nurse's office every day since we got here." He muttered but loud enough for the others to hear. Rhys was referring to him and Akira having already gone there yesterday. He wasn't complaining but it wasn't the best habit to get into.

“How's he-” Rhys reopened his eyes surprised to hear English. He turned his head towards the voice to meet a tough looking guy's (Johnny) gaze. He didn't think he had met this one before. Isn't he the one who picked up the other guy? Well, it was not the time for introductions and Rhys had a habit of not introducing himself properly. When he was sure Yuuki was done, he lifted the injured blue-haired boy on his back as if giving the guy a piggyback ride. "I think we should just let him rest." he advised and repeated in English for the other guy (Johnny).
From what he could tell, it was nothing out of the ordinary so he wasn't worried about him having a concussion. He also considered if it had been a concussion, Shiori would not have left the guy to deal with it on his own. She seemed knowledgeable in medicine and the like from their brief experiences together. He picked up the towel from the ground and turned around to face the others. His hands were attempting to stabilize the boy's position while holding onto the towel as well when the bell rang to signal dismissal. Rhys waited a bit to check if anyone insisted on going with him especially Akira with his bruise. The unknown one (Johnny) in the group was chatting up Yuuki so he assumed those two were unlikely to join him before heading towards the nurse's office.

Johnny “Jay” Farelli

Fujioka-san seemed to indicate that she was fine. Johnny, however, did not believe her for a second. Something was troubling her on a level Johnny could… admittedly, potentially relate to. At least, he could see something of the sort just by examining the subtle movements of her eyes. Her golden eyes seemed normal to the untrained eye. From Johnny’s distance, the foreigner could see that they strained to avoid widening more than they were. Something was… terrifying to her, and she was trying not to show it. Was “terrifying” the best description? What could be terrifying? Was it that dude who punched the blue-haired guy? What was his name…? Johnny thought back to the familiar faces he saw when he added fellow students to his Facebook. That one was… Saburo. Was it Saburo?

No, that can’t be it, Johnny pondered, Bullies would be annoying to someone like Fujioka-san sort at-best, unless the specific bully was a particularly evil person. If it was a "bully", then the only contender had to be Saburo… But Saburo was absolutely not a particularly evil person. That much, at least, Johnny could tell.

What could be terrifying…? Johnny, for a good second, glanced to the blue-haired boy who had been beaten. Some blood had been spattered from the corner of Sora’s mouth. Violence? Johnny wondered. Lots of people don’t react well to violence, but that’s not as common as… Could it be… Blood?

“Welp,” Johnny said, though he did not continue. He didn’t know any encouraging words in Japanese. In English, he said “Take it easy,” followed with a thumbs-up.

He did not think further into Fujioka-san’s fears. Instead, Johnny willed himself to accept her word with nothing else to say. He remembered that Japan’s citizens held a lot more pride than back home. Maybe the Japanese didn’t take too kindly to help? For a split-second, Johnny even considered the possibility that she could join him for that party. He very quickly felt that it was out of the question.

Fujioka-san didn’t strike Johnny as the type to go out on a date. At the same time, she looked like she needed a way to escape from what she had just experienced. The foreigner was not used to socializing with someone with that personality. Where Johnny came from, girls were… tougher… boisterous… They even fought it out like the boys… well, save for the ones like Yuuki. Small, focused on schoolwork, “bully-bait”. The sort Johnny and his friends often stood up for in his old school. This violet-haired girl wouldn’t have lasted a week at Johnny’s old school. Over there, kids were usually sassy and rude towards each other, except for Johnny and his crew, the shining beacons of decent people… though some teachers never thought so. “Bunch of trouble-makers. I don’t see why kids respected them,” was more or less the gist of every phrase some teachers said.

This Airdalen school, though far cleaner and far superior in general quality, made up for the budget by being far stranger. Despite that, at least the worst of this was a kid with a temper. Actually, make that two. Johnny didn’t see what was going on at the far end of the bleachers, but apparently there was at least a second hot-blooded kid enrolled in this school. They had to be smart, at least. Otherwise they couldn’t have possibly gotten into this school in the first place. Johnny knew this perfectly well. The entrance exam was pretty tough, Johnny remembered, but he pulled through while making it look easy… Technically that meant he was setting himself up for potentially greater disappointment, but the foreigner never thought of it that way. He makes an effort to never think of things that way.

The bell rang, knocking Johnny out of his recollection. The second day had finally reached it’s end. Johnny knew that he still had that Halloween dance to go to, but that was hours away. He might as well head home. He could text people, or he could potentially find those who were still da… partner-less outside of the castle proper.

He stood from his knelt position, and automatically returned to the change room. He threw off his bandana and such without much care for looking decent in front of the other boys. Johnny was used to locker rooms full of nearly naked individuals. The locker room might as well have been his second home while at school. He did not imagine Japan was any different. His chiselled body, for a good moment, was covered only by sporty boxer-briefs. It did not last long for the dudes who liked a nice-looking guy, for after undressing, Johnny quickly slipped back into his school uniform.

Back at his locker, Johnny dropped off the school items he wouldn’t need back home. His gym uniform- completely sweat-free from the lack of intensive exercise- was left in the locker. He would definitely clean them once they had a reason to be cleaned, however. They would absolutely need to be cleaned once the sports seasons kick into high gear. The foreigner awaited those wonderful times with bated breath.

Outside of the building, the wind had picked up. Many pink leaves were being blown off from the unusual trees that seemed native to Japan. Leaning against one such tree was a white-haired person… That white-haired boy? Wait, no. This was a girl, with her long hair tied into a single braid looped over her shoulder. She appeared to present herself with a rather… obvious elegance. Wasn’t she the one at the theatre booth? Johnny wondered if she, like many a student in the area with the club booths, had heard his vocal handiwork.

Similarly to Fujioka-san, this one seemed bothered by something, if her leaning against the pink tree and heaving a sigh meant anything.

As he approached, the foreigner recognized her face from back when he was adding familiar faces on his Facebook yesterday. This one was… Uhm… Fukui-san…? Shit, how do I even pronounce that? Johnny reminded himself to open in Japanese, rather than the English he automatically resorted to. “Is something wrong, lady?” Johnny asked in Japanese. The exact definition of the words basically amounted to that, but Johnny figured he was asking something more casual, something more like, “Yo, what’s up, dude?”

Hang on, Gen Fukui… her name was also on that list from the text message… Would it be appropriate to ask so soon? Does she even have a… buddy? Better intro myself.

“My name’s Johnny Farelli, but you can call me Jay,” he greeted in Japanese. He then paused. He didn’t know the word for “escapism”, damnit! Johnny quickly pulled out his dictionary and flipped through the pages as fast as he could. Eventually he found it. “You seem not okay. Do you need… (he tried to pronounce the next word correctly) esca-pism? Going to Hijemi Castle?” he asked. In English, he muttered, “Or a party or something,” to himself. He chuckled at his own apparent awkwardness as he shook his head at the book he had been consulting. From a distance, this tall mofo trying to speak Japanese to this girl who was easily over a foot shorter.

Yes, nailed it! That totally wasn’t awkward as shit! Johnny glanced up to meet her eyes. The foreigner grinned confidently, hoping to salvage a laugh out of that shameful display. From this distance, he couldn’t help but notice that her eyes resembled… what was that gemstone his old science teacher kept on his desk…? Amethyst, that was it. Smooth-cut amethyst.

Smooth Cut Amethyst… that sounds like a sick band name…

Anyway, Johnny maintained that confident, borderline goofy grin to see if he could get Fukui-san to laugh or smile. She did, after all, seem very bothered by something. Hopefully a laugh would help her out. If nothing else, Johnny had experience in helping others chill out.

"Remind me not to cross paths with you on a bad day. You sure can take a punch."

Akira blinked in surprise, seeing as she was not really sure what Rhys meant by not wanting to cross her path. She hadn't taken part in the violence, so she was left rather baffled, that is until Akira mentally registered the last part of what he had said. She laughed nervously, rubbing the back of her neck, "You give me too much credit. I just have-." she began to explain, feeling rather awkward with the compliment, but stopped abruptly. She didn't want to talk about her brother, or even mention that she had one. She cleared her voice awkwardly, rubbing the back of her neck, "...Someone who doesn't throw out any handicaps." In all honesty, the punch had nearly floored her, and it hurt like hell, she just didn't like to show weakness. In fact, she was glad that no one actually touched the bruised area, because her tough facade would have been immediately thwarted.

"...Fujioka, Yuuki... I am a first year as well.. Should we take him to the nurse's office? Do you suppose he has a concussion? If he does, we should try our best to wake him. After all, passing out is quite dangerous under those circumstances.."

Akira could barely keep up with the panicked girl's words, blinking in surprise. She managed to catch the girl's name, which was Yuuki, but she reminded herself that she would have to address her as Fujioka-san, unless given permission to address her otherwise. She had taken a social liberty in calling Mai by her first name, and luckily the timid girl did not seem to mind it all that much. Akira realized her habit to address girls by first name came across as a bit forward and overly confident, especially since she was a 'boy', but she found societal norms to be quite tedious and preferred to follow her own set of guidelines. It was this laid back and nonconformity that often left the friendly and awkward girl without a social group to lean on. Japan wasn't as casual as Britain, and most of the people she'd met before attending Airdalen did not wish to associate with a 'boy' as socially inept as Akira, well, at least by traditional Japanese standards.

"It seems we're visiting the nurse's office every day since we got here."

"We might have to pay rent soon.. On a good note, the nurse will know our blood types in no time." Akira grinned, commenting on the situation lightheartedly to brighten up the mood. she realized that they probably weren't getting off to a great start, and daily attendance in the nurse's office was definitely something Akira did not wish to make a habit of. She had to keep her state of health a secret at all costs, because the future of her sports membership depended on it.

“How's he-”

Akira blinked, tilting her head at the English speaking foreigner, relieved to hear her native tongue, even if his dialect and accent were still quite different from her home region. It was the same guy (Johnny) that had carried off the delinquent (Saburo). She was definitely grateful, but part of her was a bit annoyed. He was quite huge compared to her, so Akira felt immediately intimidated and challenged by his size. She was supposed to be a boy, but next to this guy she felt her true gender was all but plainly obvious, and that instinctively brought on a subconscious defensive posture. She wasn't entirely aware of it, but her subconscious behavior could have easily given Akira an suddenly uptight appearance. She would have normally appreciated the boy's aid, but now it made her look incapable.. which she had been in this instance, but it was a mistake she couldn't afford to make. She could not afford to have her 'masculinity' challenged. Once her attention returned to the more important matter at hand, Akira decided to try and calm Yuuki down, but Rhys beat her to the punch, which was probably for the best. He seemed to be better equip with things like this, considering she had gotten a rather angry reaction from Shiori, Akira felt she wasn't all that popular among the female populace.

"I think we should just let him rest."

Akira understood Rhys' words in both Japanese and English, but said nothing, only responding with a simple nod. There wasn't a lot to say. In her experience, people typically would wake up on their own in situations like this. She doubted it was serious enough to actually attempt forcing him to wake. Besides, Akira knew that the boy would likely prefer to sleep through as much of the pain as possible, because he had taken quite a beating. She couldn't help but respect him, because he didn't cry out for help or wuss out, at least from what little she had seen of the fight. Looking him over, physically even she had more muscle mass than him, and she was a girl. Her limbs were slender, but she had a great deal of muscle, for a girl.

Akira smirked a bit when Rhys lifted the blue haired boy (Sora) who was just a few inches taller than herself off the ground, carrying him on his back. Akira decided to go along, just in case, because that rowdy brunet could always show up again, and she knew fairly well that a lot of guys refused to play fair. She had a rather tender bruise on her cheek to prove that much, but she didn't hold it against him too much. There was more than one occasion where she had done the same thing when someone had interrupted her fights, she simply hoped that those days were behind her. I don't want to be that person anymore..

Akira followed behind Rhys, quiet for the majority of the walk, but she had something to say before they got to the nurse, especially before the blue haired guy was conscious. She didn't wat anyone else to hear, because frankly, it was none of their business, "Oi, Rhys. Thanks." She called out to Rhys in a low English mumble. She hoped that the blue haired boy (Sora) didn't know English, using it just in case he woke up while she was getting the gratitude out and open. Akira was not able to bring herself to look at Rhys as she voiced her gratitude, instead staring at the walls for a distraction. She didn't expect anyone to come to her aid, so it was a pleasant surprise when her fellow Junior seemed to be worried about her well being, "We haven't known each other that long, so I appreciate the help and concern. I won't forget that." It was embarrassing that she needed help breaking up a simple fight, but she did appreciate everything that the brunet foreigner named Johnny and Rhys had contributed. She felt guilty for not thanking Johnny, something she reminded herself she would have to do sometime in the near future.

“Fujioka-san, you feel okay?”

Yuuki was too lost in her own thoughts to even acknowledge what Johnny was attempting to say to her. She heard him quite clearly, and it was hard to not notice his presence with him kneeling down in front of her, but she was too preoccupied with attempting to calm down. She didn't have the bravery to speak, she feared that she would make her fear more noticeable if she attempted to make conversation. It felt incredibly difficult to even breathe, so she knew her voice would falter if she attempted to use it. I want to say yes, but I can't.. This is pathetic.. SPEAK YUUKI. She mentally demanded, growing rather frustrated with her response to today's events.

"Take it easy,”

He seemed to be leaving. She wasn't necessarily upset that he had given up on her, but she did feel bad for coming across that she was ignoring him. He was only trying to help. Thankfully Yuuki went to cram school regularly, so she understood what Johnny had said in English despite having a rather poor background. However, seeing as she seldom spoke to others her own age, she did not know what 'Welp' was, or why he had even said it. She could only manage a nod and a weak wave of her hand. It wasn't until the bell rang that Yuuki fully snapped out of her shock. She blinked a bit, then look around. She looked to her hand to count her fingers, making sure that this wasn't a nightmare. She had heard somewhere that you have a different number of fingers in dreams and nightmares. She still had ten, so she deduced that this was indeed reality. So....he really was beat up because of my argument.. The realization held immense weight, and she felt crushed under the burden of it all.

To be honest, she didn't even notice when Akira and Rhys left with Sora, and she wasn't sure how long the three boys had been gone. She suddenly found herself quite embarrassed with her behavior. She had prided herself on being calm and collected in nearly every situation, but today she had dropped the ball. This school seemed to have a knack at getting underneath her skin and constantly reminding her that she was still human and felt human emotion like any other person despite the rumors always floating around that she was an android made by the government to test the behaviors of other teenagers. As she thought about that, she kind of wished that the rumors were true. She wanted adults to know how terribly some students acted outside of adult supervision or when they believed that authority figures were not paying attention. She wanted others to know why she had so little hope for humanity.

She let out a sigh and went to change in the locker room, keeping to herself as she did. She definitely had to visit him in the nurse's office at the very least, she couldn't just go home without making sure that he would be alright. She was incredibly tense as she dressed back into her school uniform, but went to the nearest vending machine and ordered several sodas, mostly lemon-lime. She knew that everyone was rather upset, be it anger or anxiety and Yuuki knew that flavor had always settled her stomach. She was unsure if the others would like it, but it was her attempt towards erasing her debt to the boys that interfered with Saburo's verbal attack.

She cracked open her own, taking a large gulp to help calm her nerves before checking the school map to locate the Nurse's office. Once she was confident that she knew where it was, Yuuki quietly strolled toward it. She did not have a Facebook nor did she text people outside of her family, so she did not have any means to ask Akira, Rhys, or Sora if they were still in the Nurse's office or inquire about Sora's condition, so an in person visit would be the only way she would be able to get peace of mind.

She quietly sipped on her own drink, keeping a firm grasp on the other three with her other arm as she continued towards the office, her gaze lifting as she located the door. Were they already inside? Suddenly she grew very nervous. Were they gone? Had she taken too long in the girl's locker room? She found herself too anxious to open or even knock on the door. This wasn't an area where she had a lot of experience, seeing as she typically made a point to be harsh and avoid other students. Just knock on the door.. It's almost as simple as breathing.. she told herself, raising her fist to do so, but somehow she still managed to hesitate. Had she really become this socially inept?

Suddenly she received a text from her parents, saying that her father would attend the school dance as her date if she did not find someone suitable to go with her. Immediately Yuuki's eyes widened as she considered this. She did not wish to strain her father in any way, and she knew that the train ride plus dancing all night would do just that to him, so she quickly texted back; Fine. I will find someone. I don't have anything to wear though. You both know that we can't afford this. There was practically venom in her tone as she replied, but she hoped that her mother and father wouldn't pick up on it.

"Kon-san, I can catch you after we're done too."

Shiori was aware of the blond boy (Bishop), but she did not know him. He was taller than her, but she assumed that he was a Freshman based on the sole fact that she'd never seen him before. He could have been a transfer student, but she decided it was more likely that he was simply younger than her. For a boy his face was still rather young looking, so she deemed it more plausible. His youthful appearance made him appear less intimidating than most of the boys she currently knew, but seeing as she had misjudged Akira, she refused to give the stranger any credit. She quickly reminded herself that his (Bishop) innocent appearance could easily be a facade. Shiori chose to say nothing, seeing as he wasn't talking to her directly, but she did unintentionally make eye contact. When she noticed this, she quickly returned her attention back to Mai, a nervous expression on her face. She hoped that she didn't come across as weird or anything, Kazuhiko often scolded her for staring at others, he said it was incredibly rude.

Thankfully a distraction presented itself, and she had mere seconds to act. Her instincts took over and Shiori stepped forward for good measure, allowing Mai to fall into her arms, propped against her chest lightly as well. I...I did it..? ...I didn't drop her..? Shiori immediately blushed from the intimacy of their position. She didn't see it as romantic or anything, but she had never been this close to a stranger before. Having someone this close was utterly embarrassing. Her heart was beating fast from her nerves, so she quickly helped Mai to an upright position. I hope she didn't feel my heartbeat when I caught her.. Shiori thought to herself. However, she did feel a wave of accomplishment. She had never done trust falls before, but she managed to catch her partner instead of betraying her trust.

"T-tha-thank y-you."

"Etto.. It was no big deal." Shiori replied, stammering just for a moment before bowing respectfully back at her kouhai. She was still rather anxious from the trust fall, but she did her best to seem confident. However when she was on the receiving end of Mai's smile, her eyes widened in surprise. She was left in awe, seeing as another girl had never looked at her that way aside from her own sister, whom she might note once more that Mai had an uncanny physical resemblance to. Aside from aesthetics however, Mai had little in common with Shiori's younger sister Kitogawa, Yuriko.

She had to admit that the bell's timing couldn't have been more perfect, so she decided to take her leave, "I'm going to get changed now... I have someone I need to catch up with before I head home. Sayonara, Kon-san." Shiori responded, her cheeks starting to glow a bright red as she thought about her next line of action. She had to ask someone to the dance, so she had to hurry up and find the person she had in mind before she lost the nerve. She assumed her wave of confidence was simply adrenaline from the trust fall moments before, so she went on her way before it wore off. She would need the recklessness if she ever wanted to pop the question without sounding like she forgot how to speak properly.

Shiori rushed off to the girl's locker room, letting out a relieved sigh when she was a safe enough distance away from Mai. Her nerves were shot, but it was this energy that she believed would give her the courage to do something entirely out of her comfort zone. Shiori got dressed quickly, determined to not run into Tsukiko again, at least not until after she achieved what she was determined to get done. What if he rejects me..? What am I supposed to do? What am I supposed to say in a situation like that? She thought to herself as she removed her gym shirt, slipping into her white button down. She immediately shivered at the thought of rejection, slowly buttoning the shirt, trying to ignore her worries as much as possible.

Once dressed, Shiori deduced where he would be, and began walking towards the direction she predicted to find the boy she was looking for. She headed that way, starting to plan out how to tackle this unfamiliar task. She had never been to a dance before, but attending one was very important to her this time around. This was her final year at Airdalen, but today just so happened to be a special day for Shiori and she did not want to spend it with just anyone. She found herself mentally rehearsing the conversation, even though she simply couldn't imagine what he would say in any scenario, "Would you like to go to the dance with me..? Not in a... You know just as... It doesn't have to be..." she mumbled under her breath as she practiced how to word her question. The more she attempted to plan it out, the more she was struggling with how to define it, seeing as the word 'date' would never ever come out of her mouth, at least not anytime soon.

Before she knew it, she had already arrived at her destination, but there was someone else struggling to knock at the door. Shiori blinked in surprise, recognizing the girl to be Fujioka, Yuuki. She had met her the day before when the Principal's announcements were played. She didn't know why the other girl was here, but she assumed it had something to do with the fight that had taken place in the gym seeing as she had several cans of soda. Shiori cleared her throat, approaching the girl, "Are you stupid? Those are going to get hot and gross if you just stand there. Knocking on a door isn't difficult, it works like this." She knocked on the door, her heart skipping a beat as she did. Sure, she was giving off an arrogant air, but she was definitely very nervous. Honestly she wouldn't have been able to round up the courage had the other girl not been present to verbally lash out against.

Keeping the bruised and battered stranger on his back wasn’t easy. It wasn’t because of the boy’s (Sora) weight but because for a piggy back to work out, the one being carried would normally be holding onto his shoulders or something. Rhys had to keep leaning forward and giving the guy a little bounce from time to time to stop him from slipping right off. In spite of that, Rhys didn’t mouth any complaints or show any signs of struggle. He didn’t know this guy (Sora) but it didn’t matter. Helping was just the right thing to do. "Oi, Rhys. Thanks.” Rhys glanced Akira’s way when he spoke but wasn’t sure what he was being thanked for. As far as he was concerned, he hadn’t done anything worthy of gratitude maybe save for the blue-haired guy on his back. "We haven't known each other that long, so I appreciate the help and concern. I won't forget that." Rhys smirked in response, giving Akira a little nudge. He wasn't used to being thanked for just hanging around. "Hey, no sweat. You need something? Just ask."

When they arrived at the nurse's office, it looked exactly the same as yesterday as if they were the only ones using it. "I guess the nurses appreciate home time as much as we do." he joked lightly, setting the blue-haired boy (Sora) off his back and onto one of the beds. From there, Rhys went silent and scratched the back of his head. He wasn't sure what to do. The bell had rung for dismissal but they couldn't leave the guy unattended. He pulled up a chair to sit beside the bed as he slouched forward, legs positioned apart with his hands dangling between them. "Gotta run somewhere? I can stay back." he turned to Akira just as a knock was heard from the door.

Rhys stood back up to answer it, wondering if they were going to be joined by more injured students. Instead as the door squeaked open, he recognized the two girls and smiled slightly. He expected Yuuki to join them but not his senior Shiori. It was a welcomed surprise. "Kitogawa-san, Fujioka-san... come in." Rhys opened the door wider for them to pass through. "He.. hasn't woken up yet." he updated them on the blue-haired guy's condition before closing the door and pocketing his hands.

"Hey, no sweat. You need something? Just ask."

"O-Oi! I won't be asking often. I still have to wipe the floor with you during the next competition to repay you for making me publicly lose my first kiss to a balloon." It actually wasn't Akira's first kiss, but it was definitely her first kiss while not under the influence of alcohol or drugs. It wasn't that she had a high tolerance or still used such things, but after she lost her parents she did quite a bit of experimenting with recreational highs. Akira had never dated anyone, and the only times she had ever kissed anyone was before she moved to Japan. She attended parties quite frequently when she lived in Britain, where she and everyone else was wasted and typically playing spin the bottle. Akira sweat dropped a bit when she realized that the nurse was nowhere to be found. She was slightly appalled by this, but she simply let out a huff of annoyance and let it be. She assumed that whoever the nurse was, they had something important to attend to if they were not here treating injured students.

"I guess the nurses appreciate home time as much as we do."

With that single statement Akira immediately felt a sense of discomfort, "..I suppose so.." She responded in a quiet tone, looking around the room slowly. She wasn't fond of home, at all. As soon as Akira announced herself, her grandmother would constantly terrorize her, demanding that she marry someone rich that could support the two of them financially. Akira could ignore that, but she constantly brought up how she took Akira in when no one else wanted her, Akira's biological father especially.

Akira did not sit, in fact she took the moment to look at Rhys, noticing once more how much taller he was compared to herself. His legs were much longer than her own, as were his other limbs. He seemed like some sort of giant as she compared him to her own stature and even that of Sora. Speaking of, she glanced over at the aquamarine haired boy, surprised by his youthful appearance. Akira felt that with the right outfit and wig, Sora could pass for an attractive female. His face was neither excessively masculine, but it was not feminine either. His innocent and androgynous features intrigued Akira. His appearance genuinely made her feel more confident that she plausibly came across as a male student.

"Gotta run somewhere? I can stay back."

Akira practically jumped out of her skin as Rhys' voice startled her, hoping he didn't find it odd that she had been staring at Sora for quite some time. She wasn't sure how long Rhys had been looking in her direction, but she hoped it had not been very long. She slid up her sleeve to check her watch, her slender wrist adorning a plain pale blue wrist watch. Once she noticed the time, Akira was quite alarmed. If she wanted to get a half decent costume prepared for the dance she would have to leave now. Akira nodded slowly, feeling guilty for leaving Rhys with all of the responsibility, "I do.. Gomenasai. Would you mind telling him that I'm sorry for snapping at him when he wakes up?" Akira let out a nervous laugh when she asked for the favor, rubbing the back of her neck. She was rubbing a few people the wrong way, Shiori especially. She wished to make amends for her actions as soon as possible, but time was fleeting unless she wanted to attend the dance dressed in her maid uniform from work, which was NOT an option, "I lost my temper when I saw Fujioka-San so close to the fight and kind of accused both guys for the fight even though I didn't see a mark on the other guy.." She let out a disappointed sigh as she spoke of Sora and the unfamiliar red haired boy (Saburo). Akira couldn't help feeling ashamed for making such quick assumptions.

Akira was just about to take her leave, but froze as a knock hit the door. Rhys managed to answer it while Akira stood petrified, having to remind herself that this situation was normal in the eyes of others. No one would blink twice because Sora, Rhys, and Akira were three BOYS in the room alone, no one was aware that Akira was a girl so it wouldn't seem awkward or embarrassing to anyone except Akira. As she reassured herself that no one would find it strange that she was alone with the other two boys, Akira managed to calm her heartbeat down slowly from the miniature heart attack she had experienced.

"Kitogawa-san, Fujioka-san... come in."

Akira waved to the two girls with a warm smile plastered on her face. She was incredibly nervous, but thankfully she had already announced to Rhys that she was taking her leave, "Etto.. I hate to run, but I've got to prepare for the dance tonight... As awkward as that's going to be." Akira's voice grew less and less confident as her words continued and eventually she was mumbling by the time she mentioned the dance. She let her eyes fall on Shiori and Yuuki, neither of which seeming very comfortable with the other. She was definitely curious about why the two seemed to be at war with each other, but she didn't have the time. Akira made her way to the door, stopping to turn in Rhys' direction when her hand touched the knob, "Behave yourself while I'm gone, Rhys. Don't do anything I wouldn't. They're far too shy to be treated the way you seem to manage my Senpai (Cassiopeia)." She winked at him, not a single drop of jealousy in her voice as she spoke of how he seemed to always have an intimate moment of misunderstanding with Cassiopeia. Akira did not hesitate with turning the knob and exiting the infirmary after she spoke her piece, a smirk on her face as she walked down the hallway. She wasn't sure if her teasing managed to make Ryhs embarrassed or not, but she was fairly certain that she made at least one person in the infirmary anxious.

Akira's trip to the maid cafe had been very uneventful, much to her preference. She entered the restaurant through the back entrance with a sigh, but was immediately met with a set of arms around her neck. Under normal circumstances Akira would have been quite startled, but this situation was something she had grown quite accustomed to in the past year.

"Akira-chan! You are so adorable as Akira-Kuuun~! If you were a boy I would totally claim you as my own~" The owner of the embrace and the perverted voice was none other than Akira's boss, Kanase, Chiyo. Her boss was a dark haired woman in her upper twenties, with a slim waist and a large bust. Akira thanked her lucky stars that her boss was so approachable and understanding, but sometimes she worried that the older woman had an unhealthy obsession with the young girls and boys who worked at the cafe.

"Chiyo-Sensei, I've told you before that sounds far too sexual..." Akira snapped in a slightly embarrassed manner, forcing the older woman to let go of her as she continued to her own dressing room with her name written on the door in silver ink. She went inside, quickly going through several wigs before choosing a short and messy ebony one with cat ears built into the piece already. Chiyo followed Akira inside of the dressing room, tilting her head as the ivory haired Akira was rummaging through her belongings. Akira then turned to the costumes and ran her fingers across the hangers on her clothing rack as she continued looking for a specific outfit.

What are you doing Akira-kuuun? Today's your day off...not that I'm complaining~"

Akira glared at Chiyo, a sign that she'd had enough of the harmless flirting before withdrawing a black furry crop top and an equally furry pair of shorts with a slender fuzzy tail attached from the rack. There were also furry leg warmers and gloves with paws at the end connected to the clothes hanger the outfit was on.

Akira began to undress, seeing as she had bindings on her chest and Chiyo despite being a pervert was also a woman, and one of the few who knew about Akira's true gender. As Akira undressed she could feel Chiyo's lecherous eyes on her, causing the ivory haired high school student to roll her eyes, "Don't be a pedophile!" She snapped at Chiyo, who then averted her gaze allowing Akira to remove her clothing in peace.

Akira adjusted her ace bandages that bound her breasts and ran her hand over the bindings to make sure that her chest felt flat and masculine before sliding on the black Neko crop top. She proceeded in putting on the rest of her costume, checking herself out in the mirror. She felt that she was missing something, but she couldn't figure it out.

"You should put in vampire fangs on your canine teeth. That would make the costume fall perfectly together." Chiyo commented, rummaging through Akira's makeup and other accessories before handing glue that would be safe for Akira's teeth and the two individual fake vampire teeth to Akira.

Akira shot Chiyo an appreciative smile before applying the teeth, bending closer to the mirror to make sure she could see her teeth well as she applied the glue. She did not wish to make a mistake and glue a tooth on crooked, or worse, use too much glue! Akira wasn't sure what time it was, but she wanted to be prepared. She figured it was better to be prepared too soon than to be rushing around because she was running late.

Image"Are you stupid? Those are going to get hot and gross if you just stand there. Knocking on a door isn't difficult, it works like this."

E-Eh?! Well excuse me. Are you Bipolar? Do you have Multiple Personality Disorder? It's rude to just snap at people for no given reason. Yuuki thought to herself in a coldhearted tone, ready to lash out verbally at the older girl, but held her tongue to better assess the situation. Yuuki had to admit that she was surprised by Shiori's rudeness, mainly because she had seemed quite polite the day before when they had made introductions. Taken aback by the girl that was only a couple inches taller than her. Before Yuuki could answer, Shiori had knocked on the door to alert anyone inside that there were visitors. She immediately felt nervous, glaring at Shiori for her harsh behavior. Even though Shiori stood up for her earlier that day, she did not plan on letting this rude behavior slide. She had done nothing to earn this kind of treatment from her senpai. However, the door opened interrupting any form of argument that Yuuki had planned to hiss in the other girl's direction. It's probably better off this way.. I'll write it off as divine intervention.

"Kitogawa-san, Fujioka-san... come in."

Yuuki froze for a few seconds as Rhys and Akira greeted Shiori and herself, but quickly recovered and bowed politely before walking in, not even checking to see if Shiori would follow, "Arigato. I bought drinks for everyone.." She held out one for Rhys, but as her eyes shifted around the room in search of that unique blue hair, Yuuki noticed that Sora unconscious on the infirmary bed.

Her expression softened, guilt washing over her as she began to worry. Why hasn't he waken up? She began to wonder, hoping that there was nothing seriously wrong with him. She had never been in a fight, so she wasn't sure how dangerous those blows to the head were. Yuuki also began to think back on her behavior. Had she of held her tongue, none of this would have happened. Normally she would not have cared, but he took quite a beating for taking her side. Even if he was not defending her individually, Sora's support meant a lot to her, especially since the red headed boy had put down education, scholarship students and intellect so harshly.

"He.. hasn't woken up yet."

"..He was hurt because he spoke up in my argument with... whoever that imbecile (Saburo) was..." Her voice was soft and held emotional distance, but her tone was heavily weighed down with regret. She wouldn't have cared if she had been the one to get hit, but she couldn't handle that someone else got hurt during one of her arguments. She couldn't accept that her anger sparked this situation, even though she was not the one at fault for beating Sora.

"Etto.. I hate to run, but I've got to prepare for the dance tonight... As awkward as that's going to be."

"Oh..Uhm.. Alright.." Yuuki replied, biting the inside of her cheek discreetly before placing the remaining two lemon-lime sodas on a nearby end table before taking a seat near Sora, but not the one closest to him. She was concerned, but it wasn't as if the two of them were friends, in fact, she had just met the guy around twenty minutes prior. Yuuki removed her orange scarf, laying it near the Sodas she had bought for Akira and Sora. It was slightly warmer in the nurse's office than she had anticipated, and her grey skirt, grey turtle neck, and blue leather jacket were enough to keep her at a pleasant temperature on their own. As if on cue with Akira's words, Yuuki received another text from her parents detailing that they had already mailed her a costume. She immediately felt a sense of dread, wondering when exactly they had gotten the text from the school, especially since they assured her that the package would arrive on time.

"Behave yourself while I'm gone, Rhys. Don't do anything I wouldn't. They're far too shy to be treated the way you seem to manage my Senpai."

Immediately Yuuki's eyes shot up to the two conscious boys. First her golden brown eyes fell on Akira, from her angle only being able to see his back. She could not see the wink that he had sent in Rhys' direction, so she could only assume that Akira was dead serious. Yuuki was simply oblivious like that. She began to wonder what Akira meant by the way Rhys handled his Senpai, but part of her assumed that she did not wish to experience it first hand, at least judging by Akira's implications. She merely tilted her head as her eyes finally fell on Rhys, curious but not saying a word. There was a light blush on her cheeks now, startled and flustered by Akira's implications. Her eyes shifted to Shiori, who seemed to be rather frozen by Akira's words. Apparently Shiori and Akira knew something about Rhys that she did not. It was beginning to grow quite irritating, because Yuuki hated being left in the dark, but just this once she was going to drop it, because Shiori's flustered expression explained everything about it that Yuuki cared to know; Whatever Akira was talking about was far too troublesome for Yuuki to worry about.

On a more important note, Yuuki glanced to Sora once more, wondering when he would finally wake, "Oh, Kitogawa-Senpai." Her voice was somewhat strained, further verifying that something had definitely happened between the two female students before Rhys had opened the door. Despite her bitterness, Yuuki forced a neutral expression on her face as she addressed her upperclassman, "You can have the other soda if you wish. It shouldn't go to waste." She pointed to the two sodas, seeing as Akira left without retrieving his. She figured Sora would feel rather sick once he woke, so the least she could do was buy him and the others something that wasn't harsh on the stomach.

Sora's eyes flickered open as he stirred awake, overhearing voices surrounding him from all corners of the room. He had been dreaming of flying across the skies, touching the clouds and travelling alongside a flight of ducks in v-shaped formation. Sora loved the sky, loved being named after it.. and randomly remembered that an english exchange student with a name similar to it, would be arriving to stay with him and his small family today. Hopefully, the student (Skylar) would be just as pleasant as the upper atmosphere he admired so much.

For now, the main issue at hand was his physical state. Sora noticed that he was no longer in harm's way as he lay on a bed in the school's infirmary. The stubborn red-head (Saburo) was also not an individual present among the few students who joined him. Contrary to the typical victim, Sora was actually disappointed that his attacker was not around for his awakening; that nuisance owed him an apology and perhaps some laundry chores due to his bloodied up uniform. He dreaded his current appearance. It simply did not suit him to look like some common thug. His mood lifted a little as he recalled he was still in PE uniform and there was a blood free set in his locker that would suffice.

His eyes wandered over the others in the room.
The blonde-brunette (Rhys) he recalled talking to moments before passing out was the only male present. He deducted that he was the most likely to have brought him here and was grateful. He reminded Sora so much of Taro; his ex-boyfriend. The way he moved and spoke was of an identical demeanor. Nonetheless, Sora knew his comfort around the tall boy was misguided out of familiarity and comparison with someone else. He (Rhys) must be a different person entirely. For a brief moment, Sora wondered if he was mistaking the two men because he missed Taro but that thought was quickly shaken off. He did not love Taro after all.

Shiori Kitogawa, a familiar face from his classes. Although they had never held a conversation worth mention, he was not clueless to her presence whenever she entered a room. She was beautiful but much like him, her social circles were practically non existent. There were always rumors circulating around Airdalen and the rumors on them both were one in the same; they both liked to talk more than their peers would care to listen. It was a wonder that in all their school years that neither of them considered becoming allies.

Then there was.. Yuuki Fujioka, a junior girl he had met as a consequence of the incident. She had been honest with herself and her feelings when approached by the bully. Why was that? He was intrigued. From what he had observed from his classmates, most would refrain from such situations.

Despite being acquainted with everyone in the room on some level.. he felt strange. He couldn't understand why they were present and why they hadn't left him. Looking at the clock upon the wall, Sora knew that class had already been dismissed and school was over. Did they not hear the bell? He was totally dumbfounded. He had only known lovers and his maids to attend to him in this way. He sighed but it quickly turned into a coughing fit, making his presence known. Breathing was still pained.

Meanwhile..
"Woah, Japan is full of people who look all the same! I must've seen the same person at least 5 times. Holy moly." Skylar had her face pressed against the glass window of the taxi cab as she took in the sights of Japan from her seat. She was absolutely ecstatic being in an Asian country for the first time. She had intentionally picked a country out of her comfort zone for the thrill and adventure. Pops; as she called her father would not be accompanying her travel as well for the first time. In Skylar's mind this meant she was free to do whatever she wanted without supervision. She had always been a daddy's girl having never met her mother but still.. This is going to be great! I'll stand out like the star on top a Christmas tree at this rate.

The woman next to her let out a hearty laugh interrupting the excited highschool girl's thoughts. "You and Sora are going to get along just fine." Skylar leaned toward the white-haired woman out of curiosity, with only her seat belt to restrain her from closing the distance between them. Her eyes twinkled and widened as she started to play with the maid's fake neko ears. "What is this Sora like anyway, dame?" The maid never got around to responding as she attempted to swat the active girl away from her prized cat ears. "Stop that! That hurts you know?!" The maid demanded. Skylar laughed and chaos ensued, resulting in quite a tangle in the backseat. Her arms were eventually forced to her back by the older woman in the manner of a criminal about to get cuffed.. only she was upside down in her seat. "You're fun." Despite the awkward position and seat belt entanglement, Skylar was still somehow comfortable and able to laugh off the scenario. The Harigae family maid could only sigh knowing this exchange student was going to be more of a handful than Sora.

"We've arrived" The taxi driver announced before turning around in his seat to finally realize the chaotic passengers he had escorted. Oddly enough, he didn't show any sign of surprise. Skylar wiggled out of her predicament and leaped outside the door with vigor as soon as the maid had released her; as if freeing a bloodhound that was on the hunt. With her arms in the air as she landed on her feet, she yelled. "Woooohoooooo! Hellloooo Airdalen!" The students remaining on campus after the bell looked at her funny as the girl strutted her stuff like a model on a cat walk. Skylar was strange and proud of it. Now where do I find the office building.. Unfortunately, she could not be proud of not thinking ahead.

"Kitogawa-san, Fujioka-san... come in."

Unlike Yuuki, Shiori did not pause like a deer staring at highlights. She had spent her fair share of time at uppity social gatherings to know how to respond under pressure; as cordially as possible.

"Arigato, I thought I'd check up on Harigae-San. I had other obligations during class, but I wished to make sure my fellow classmate's condition had improved." She explained, beating around the bush and also avoiding her true purpose of making this trip. While deep down she did hope that Sora would be alright, she had to speak with Rhys, alone preferably, if she could keep her courage that is.

"Arigato. I bought drinks for everyone.."

Shiori noticed the other girl's voice. For some reason being around Yuuki in a social environment made Shiori feel sad. The girl was nearly as awkward towards others as Shiori herself. Shiori let Yuuki enter the room first, then followed, glancing at Rhys out of the corner of her eye as she passed him. She was clueless to the cause of it, but suddenly her voice felt as though it were a large stone lodged in her throat. It's just a dance that we would attend, at the same time, dancing, together. Possibly touching if it's a slow song... It's not like it changes anything! He's my junior after all.. It's nothing! She fought to mentally pursuade herself, closing her eyes for a moment while her back was to Rhys, Akira, and Yuuki to reclaim her thoughts.

She turned around before it became awkwardly obvious that she was nervous, but that was apparent given the shiftiness of her eyes. She did not even look at Akira or Rhys directly now, feeling as though the two boys could see right through her. She had never felt so transparent in her entire life, and to be honest she did not like vulnerability. When her eyes fell on Yuuki, a question suddenly surfaced, "If you don't mind me asking, Fujioka-San... What caused the fight? You were the only immediate witness after all, so do tell. I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd like to know, given Blake-San became collateral damage.." Shiori crossed her arms, quirking an inquisitive brow. With the stone hard expression on her face it was apparent that Shiori could possibly be a damn good lawyer someday with a little professional training if she only felt inclined.

"He.. hasn't woken up yet."

Shiori managed to bite back a sarcastic reply, but it was a mere second from escaping her lips. It was such a close call that she couldn't help but feel a sense of relief, "That is quite unfortunate. I wonder if he will wake up any time soon... I suppose my retainer can tend to my errands instead..." She immediately withdrew her phone and speedily sent a text,

'Kazuhiko.. Acquire me a Halloween costume. There is a school function I've decided to attend.'

Without double checking, she pressed send and pocketed her phone in nearly record time. She was expert with text messaging, because it was far less personal that in person encounters or telephone calls.

"..He was hurt because he spoke up in my argument with... whoever that imbecile (Saburo) was..."

"What were you arguing with another freshman about that could trigger such abrupt violence?" She had never been in a fight, nor did Shiori know a lot about teenage boys, so she did not understand the full effects that testosterone. She knew it made males more aggressive than their female counterparts, but she had little experience to correlate with that knowledge, "It's highly plausible that you will be summoned to recount this information in front of the school's disciplinary committee. I suspect there will be consequences for today's events, so try to tell it truthfully, if you don't mind." Shiori knew that she was being audaciously rude, but it was also for Yuuki's benefit. She wasn't sure if the girl was any better with teachers than she was fellow students, but Shiori assumed the girl needed the extra help. She however couldn't be entirely altruistic, because that would be embarrassing as hell. She had to settle for antagonistic behavior, but that was similar to altruistic right? No. Well, at least they both start with an 'A'.

Shiori was caught up in her own train of thought, so she did not catch Akira declaring his departure or mention of the dance being held later that evening which she still needed to nab a date for. I wish I could just be helpful instead of aggressive and passive about her true intentions.

"Behave yourself while I'm gone, Rhys. Don't do anything I wouldn't. They're far too shy to be treated the way you seem to manage my Senpai."

Suddenly images of Rhys and Cassiopeia filled Shiori's head, a dark blush forming on her cheeks as she recalled the previous day's interaction between her fellow senior and her junior partner. She was beginning to doubt her resolve, prepared to exit the room at first chance. However, she managed to stand her ground, reminding herself that this was her last year of high school and that her experience here had been wallflowerish and dull. She had made more enemies with her harsh words and abrasive exterior than she cared to count. She couldn't keep running away because these situations were frightening. If she kept running away, she would never learn how to live. So far she simply existed, she did not thrive at all. Shiori wanted to make friends, to hang out and be a normal teenager... So she figured going to a dance with a boy would be a good start. It was jumping in head first, but it wasn't like she was given a lot of time to ease into it. She gripped at her black shorts as if clenching onto someone would help contain her confidence. Suddenly she was glad that she wasn't the only one in their own clothing, seeing as Yuuki was also out of uniform. Being in her own clothes did add to her nerves however. Wondering if her Ruffled long sleeve shirt, black thigh highs and formal shorts were too, well, formal. She let out a slow but inaudible sigh before speaking up, "E-Etto... Browning-San..? C-Can I talk to you outside.. Later? I mean, whenever you're free." Her voice started out perfect, but her tone grew uneasy and defensive as she went, finally deciding to shut up when she realized that she was only humiliating herself by rambling on.

Seeing as she was still blushing, Shiori avoided eye contact, in fact, she avoided looking at Rhys all together. As she awaited an answer, hearing the clock ticking practically in her ear she mentally prayed that her long hair was fighting on her side today. She was unsure if it was able to conceal her blush from the side view she knew that Rhys currently had of her.

"Oh, Kitogawa-Senpai. You can have the other soda if you wish. It shouldn't go to waste."

Shiori was more than thrilled to have a distraction so she immediately smiled, walking over to accept the refreshment. It was much needed, because now her throat felt as though it hadn't met liquid in days. Shiori cracked open the tab, taking a small sip from the can when suddenly she overheard Sora coughing. Shiori blinked a bit, pointing to the unopened lemon lime can, "Open the can and offer him a drink before he chokes to death." She instructed Yuuki in a stern manner. She did this because it was far easier for her to instruct someone else to do it than to attempt it herself. The last time she had been in this room was still stuck in her mind. Immediately her face exploded into a blush as her thoughts flashed back to addressing Rhys' wound from the balloon game and she took a long gulp from her own can of soda in attempt to draw attention away from her seemingly random embarrassment.

I have a long way to go... I hate my mother. I blame her terrible parenting. She never prepared me for this kind of stuff... I have no idea what I'm doing..

Rhys had been so caught up with the fight case and dealing with the aftermath that his own health went unnoticed. Luckily, it had been a while since his temperature went up and his last dizzy fit so his fever appeared to be passing in the mayhem. He hadn’t forgotten that he had borrowed a towel from the swim club to cool off. He had let the injured boy use it too to wipe off his blood. Rhys couldn’t return it like that. He’d scare his fellow Upstream members off before getting a chance to dive in the pool and Rhys was no stranger to scaring others by accusations alone.

"Arigato, I thought I'd check up on Harigae-San. I had other obligations during class, but I wished to make sure my fellow classmate's condition had improved."
Harigae? Rhys made a mental note of the blue-haired guy’s name should he need it. He knew according to Japan’s customs that a surname was enough to get by. Growing up in a foreign country, it still didn’t sit right with him to only know someone by last name. Well, it would have to do. He didn’t want to ask for the guy’s first name unless the occasion called for it. Rhys also realized that Harigae was a senior as Shiori referred to him as her classmate. He easily could have mistaken the poor guy for a junior because of his youthful appearance. If this guy is a senior, where were his friends to intervene before us juniors? More questions emerged but he was reassured that they were helping the right side of the fight after Akira’s requested favor and Shiori taking the time to visit. That's what really counted in the end.

"Arigato. I bought drinks for everyone.."
Rhys was surprised but didn't let it show on his features as he looked down at the free lemon lime drink handed to him by Yuuki. Deep down, he was happy that he appeared to be settling into Airdalen and that everyone was a lot nicer in general than he anticipated. Heck, he thought going to a prestigious school meant he had to be prepared to face and accept pretentious snobs for company. There were still a few around but within his two days at Airdalen, he had made more friends than he thought possible. Small gestures such as this, kept reminding him how thankful he was. Being in a foreign country, in a foreign school environment.. it was easy to feel alienated.
"Thanks." He casually took the offered drink from her hands and gave the two girls space to enter the room. The nurse's office burst into life as soon as they had arrived. When just him and Akira, the room was pretty quiet save for a bit of talking here and there. Rhys didn't comment on the difference but he hoped they weren't being too noisy to disrupt Harigae from his peaceful slumber.

Rhys popped open his drink for a few sips as he listened to what Yuuki had to share about the fight. The fight was over but it would be good to know how it started. There was a possibility of the same episode happening again between the two involved parties if they had an ongoing grudge.
"..He was hurt because he spoke up in my argument with... whoever that imbecile was..."
Rhys nodded along to show he was listening attentively but the details were cut short.
"What were you arguing with another freshman about that could trigger such abrupt violence?"
A freshman? Rhys pondered over the new information. So.. it started out as an argument between freshmen. His eyes scanned over Harigae feeling more glad that he had carried him over. The senior (Sora) didn't have a tough build but had decided to intervene in an argument anyway? That was worth some respect in Rhys' eyes.

"Etto.. I hate to run, but I've got to prepare for the dance tonight... As awkward as that's going to be."
Rhys turned his head towards Akira a little startled as he brought up the dance. He had completely forgotten about the event since his short meeting with Arietta and his mobile phone was still in his locker. It's tonight? "Almost forgot about that.. see ya later then." He gave a casual salute to signal he could hold down the fort.
"Behave yourself while I'm gone, Rhys. Don't do anything I wouldn't. They're far too shy to be treated the way you seem to manage my Senpai."
"I didn't-" Rhys spoke up right away to correct him but with a wink, Akira had closed the door before he had a chance to get another word in.

Instead of saying anything more, Rhys just shook his head and the tease off. He did recall his moment with Cassiopeia but it wasn't a big deal to him. It was the outsiders of the situation who viewed the gesture to mean something more than it really was. No surprises there. Rhys returned his attention back to the females in the room and shook his head even more at the sight of their reactions. Yuuki and Shiori both looked... uncomfortable. Rhys closed his eyes to hide his frustration at their mistrust while rocking the drink in his hand back and forth but not enough to spill over. "I'm not going to manage anyone. He was just joking." He clarified especially for Yuuki as she would have no idea what they were talking about to begin with.

"E-Etto... Browning-San..? C-Can I talk to you outside.. Later? I mean, whenever you're free."
Rhys managed to completely miss the signs of Shiori's nervousness as he reopened his eyes and set aside his drink on an available table. He was already convinced that his senior wanted to talk about the Cassiopeia ordeal because she had asked him for a talk right after the joke. Probably another scolding.. alright. Rhys would take it. While he didn't enjoy being lectured, he was not going to deny her request. Rhys did view Shiori in their small time together as enough of a friend to hear her out. He also owed her for the study stall incident. Outside she says? I'm fucked. Now he was convinced he must have done something really bad to warrant a private talk.

After Yuuki had broken the silence by offering his senior a drink and Harigae's awakening, Rhys moved towards the door. "Good to see you up. We'll be back in a bit." he tapped the door's surface with his knuckles while looking over his shoulder to check that Shiori got the hint to follow him. If she was going to lecture him, he wanted to get it over with. He wasn't going to hear it at the party if she planned to attend. That'd kill the party fun for the both of us. Rhys also trusted Harigae in Yuuki's care. From what he understood of the fight's story, he had a feeling Yuuki might want to have a few words with Harigae in private too for defending her. Excusing themselves right now was hitting two birds with one stone. Rhys would have to follow through on Akira's favor after.

When he heard the door close behind his senior as she stepped out after him, he turned around to face her again. As he waited for what she would say, his mind was doing back flips on the possible topics and it showed. A look of concern furrowed his brows. Part of him was now wondering if she wanted to talk about the study group stall incident or club stuff in general.. or if he was right and it was about Cassiopeia. God, she's so confusing.. Even though he intended to wait, his confusion on the matter was making him impatient. "Look..." He advanced towards her, bridging the gap and indirectly pressuring her against the wall. As he towered over her with an unwavering gaze, he placed his hand against the wall at her shoulder's height as if to block her. Even as he acted on instinct with the intention to be clear and straight forward should his assumptions be correct.. Rhys refrained from treating Shiori the way he did Cassiopeia. He would not touch her. "I sometimes act on impulse without thinking first. If this is about Cassiopeia.. then I am sorry I made both you and Fujioka-san uncomfortable. I'll try to be more deserving of your trust.. that I won't 'manage' girls I just met."

"What were you arguing with another freshman about that could trigger such abrupt violence?"

Yuuki opened her mouth to answer, but immediately hesitated. She was irritated with the other girl's attitude, so she took a moment to collect her thoughts before anything rude and abrupt passed her lips. She did not wish to create any further hostility today. As things stood it would be a long time before she could fully pay off her debt to Sora. She wasn't made of money, so it wasn't like she could literally pay him for all of the punches he took. How am I supposed to make things right..? It's not like we're friends... I don't even know this guy... I've never owed anyone anything before.. What should I do? She immediately began stressing, Shiori's question slipping her mind as she grew quite sidetracked. This was not how she intended to start her year off. Up until now she had managed to keep to herself, no ruffles in her daily routine, but suddenly Airdalen created a rather large tear in her life plan. She had never anticipated getting this caught up in affairs with other students. In fact, this is the exact opposite of what she was trying to accomplish. In an ideal world, she would know none of these people and she would be home, alone, studying her ass off to save her sick father and to quickly get a degree in order to pay off his medical bills.

"It's highly plausible that you will be summoned to recount this information in front of the school's disciplinary committee. I suspect there will be consequences for today's events, so try to tell it truthfully, if you don't mind."

"...I see... I nearly forgot. Of course there would be disciplinary action..." Yuuki muttered, nodding her head. She took a minute to fully register that she might have to speak as a witness. It wasn't that she minded clearing Sora's name, in fact, she preferred to as it would significantly diminish her debt towards him... but that was once again becoming involved with affairs that would make others want to 'approach' her and become her 'friend' because she did the right thing. She couldn't help but sigh, "I will tell exactly what happened. I'm not letting him take the fall for this. I'm not irresponsible, I'm willing to accept responsibility!" Yuuki responded in a serious tone, beginning to wonder just how lowly Shiori thought of her.

"Behave yourself while I'm gone, Rhys. Don't do anything I wouldn't. They're far too shy to be treated the way you seem to manage my Senpai."

Akira was taking his leave apparently, and Yuuki immediately became shocked. She blinked a few times, baffled by Akira's words. She wasn't sure what he meant, but she knew that it had perverted intentions. She'd been hit on enough to know what Akira meant.

"I didn't-"

Her eyes fell on Rhys as he seemed to attempt a vocal defense before giving up, making her further question her new acquaintance. She was definitely worried, and a thousand different kinds of uncomfortable, but she was not blushing like Shiori, because the emotional connection was not there. She would simply give Rhys a few choice words if he tried anything, because she did not know him well enough to know he wouldn't. It wasn't in her nature to try and get to know others. Relationships were time consuming, if this situation did not prove that enough.

"I'm not going to manage anyone. He was just joking."

"I've heard that there is a percentage of truth hidden in the context of every joke." Yuuki stated, reaching to adjust her glasses, only to remember she was wearing contacts. She concealed her error by brushing her hair behind her ear. She knew it was kind of rude, but she was once again, not trying to make allies. She didn't see the point, especially since high school friends inevitably drift apart. She noticed that Shiori seemed far more embarrassed, figuring that the girl knew something that she did not, but she shrugged it off. Her eyes returned to Sora, checking to see if there was a sign of him waking, then she looked to her phone to check the time. At this rate, perhaps she would be able to call her parents and use this as an excuse to escape attending the dance.

"E-Etto... Browning-San..? C-Can I talk to you outside.. Later? I mean, whenever you're free."

Shiori seemed uncharacteristically embarrassed, especially for someone who had approached her with such arrogance and attitude. She was beginning to wonder what was going on with the girl, seeing as her bipolar behaviors were growing a little annoying. Or maybe I'm just irritated because I missed my train home.. Yeah, that's probably it..

"Open the can and offer him a drink before he chokes to death."

Yuuki blinked a few times in surprise, looking over to the coughing blue haired male. She immediately reach for the can she'd reserved for him and opened it. She stood up, handing it to Sora. Her eyes shifted as she examined him, nervous due to his coughing and physical condition.

"Good to see you up. We'll be back in a bit."

If she had not been nervous enough, the other two left her completely alone with Sora. She immediately tensed, seeing as she had never been in a situation that left her alone with anyone, especially a boy. The room was painfully quiet aside from Sora's coughing, and it was extremely awkward, "Arigato." She stated in a serious tone, glancing out the window. Then she began to wonder if it would help his condition to feel a little fresh air. She immediately approached the window once she was certain he coul hold the can of soda without spilling it, turning to look at him with those golden doe eyes of her's, "Would you like fresh air? I could open the window." She raised her hand to the latch, ready to unlock it if he agreed, but it was simply a diversionary tactic to keep her mind off of the current situation.

If I ever see that Imbecile again it will be too soon.. This is ALL HIS FAULT.

Sora sat up in the bed and covered his mouth with the back of his hand as he coughed. Focused on his discomfort, he missed the majority of the ongoing discussion. It only became a curious concern when Shiori and the look-alike Taro left the room claiming they would return later. It was an odd situation to appear caring for him followed by leaving as he awoke but he was more baffled that they had gone out of their way to carry and watch him sleep. Unable to voice his thoughts yet due to his coughing, he carefully took hold of the drink the junior girl (Yuuki) had offered and sipped it quietly. The drink was cold and refreshing as Sora eased his lower back against the pillows behind him relieved. It was easy for this boy to get comfortable. The challenge was having others be comfortable around him.

He was about to thank the girl for the drink when instead, she happened to thank him. "Arigato." This confused Sora immensely. He tilted his head the way a curious child would, as the violet-haired girl advanced towards the windows. "Would you like fresh air? I could open the window." "You could, if you want to but it is fine. I can see the sky from here clearly.." Sora was distracted momentarily by his adoration for the sky, his emotionless eyes suddenly full of wonder. The world was big but he had not ever step foot outside of Japan. The sky reminded him of his passions and dreams. There was more out there waiting to be discovered; beyond his books where pages could not come close to describing natural beauty.

Brought back to reality when his eyes landed upon the junior, he set a question. "Why do you thank me? It is you who gave me a drink. It was nice." he stated matter-of-factly, his tone betraying the dreamer he appeared to be a few seconds earlier. "Oh, I see. You are like a mind reader of sorts? I was about to thank you for the drink. Thank you." He nodded his head solemnly in her direction. His cellphone began vibrating in his pocket but he would wait for her answer before attending to it. The message relayed information about the Airdalen Halloween Dance. He had attended before but already forgotten the name of his previous date. It did not fare well as she could not handle the boy's blunt statements.

"A dance that requires a partner is troubling." Sora was back to normal, his thoughts translating simultaneously into words regardless of not being alone in the room. He was not ashamed to speak his mind, his words a roundabout way of admitting he was single. "It is possible to dance without one and enjoy a party without one too." He leaned forward, resting an arm over his knees and his head on that as he reflected. "Out of formality, would you..." He turned his head to establish eye contact with the junior. "Would you be interested in attending this event with me? You have my interest." He boldly declared.

"Why do you thank me? It is you who gave me a drink. It was nice. Oh, I see. You are like a mind reader of sorts? I was about to thank you for the drink. Thank you."

"It's just...Not really... but I suppose I'll take it." She was tempted to explain herself, but responded with awkward agreement to avoid the hassle. Yuuki was currently discomposed by his outlandish topic of mind reading. Yuuki did not place a lot of weight into psychic readings or anything of that nature, so she began to wonder if Sora had a few screws knocked loose during his confrontation with the imbecile (Saburo). Speaking of, she never caught the imbecile's name, but she figured it was better that way. If at all possible, Yuuki hoped to never see him again. She wasn't sure how their next encounter would end, but she hoped that there would be no more casualties. She didn't want anyone else to get hurt due to her selfish pride, or the rude boy's for that matter.

"A dance that requires a partner is troubling."

"I agree. I find it to be unnecessary, but what can one do in an adult's world?" She responded with a hushed sigh. He has just spoken up on the issue that was currently weighing the heaviest on her shoulders. Then she began searching the room until she found an instant ice pack. She prepared it, then handed it to Sora, "You probably don't wish to go to the dance all swollen. Place this to the swollen area for a few minutes..." She instructed. She would have done it herself, but she was not familiar enough with him, or any other person aside from her parents. Getting too close to him physically would shake her resolve, and she couldn't afford that kind of distraction.

"It is possible to dance without one and enjoy a party without one too."

"Is that so..?" Had she not been such a serious person, Yuuki might have taken the moment to note how adorable Sora looked in this moment. She however did not allow herself to consider such thoughts, blocking them out before they could take root. She had to focus on her goal and nothing else, and she refused to let a cute boy stand in the way of all her hard work up until this point.

"Out of formality, would you..."

She wasn't sure what he was going to say, but she ultimately assumed that he was going to ask her to give him privacy. She understood if he wished to be alone, or even if he held resentment towards her for the incident.

"Would you be interested in attending this event with me? You have my interest."

The first expression to cross her facial features was rather blank, left entirely baffled by the sudden request and brazen declaration that Sora did not hesitate to follow up with. She was used to others speaking in such a steadfast manner, but somehow this was quite different when compared to the treatment she was usually exposed to. Yuuki blinked a few times to make certain that she had heard the senior correctly, immensely surprised by the boy's forward declaration of interest. Sure, she was used to catcalls and other crude forms of announcing physical attraction, but this was considerably different. It didn't come across as crude or perverted, so she was pleasantly surprised, not that she'd ever admit that. She was not entirely sure what she was feeling at the moment as she was ambushed by a a plethora of emotions that she did not understand. Her eyes shifted a bit as she tried to conjure up a response. She was obviously uncomfortable with the situation, but she was also considering it as well. She had never given this kind of situation any thought until today.

Despite herself, a small smile crept onto her lips before she began to speak, "I do not have a date, so I will accept your invitation if you're certain. However, I must warn you." She closed her eyes to keep her wits about her, but also to prevent her eyes from betraying her. Although she seemed calm on the outside, her eyes were always a direct window to her true emotions, and she refused to let them get the best of her. Not this time.

She knew that she was intelligent enough to keep herself calm in this kind of situation, yet somehow she could not soothe her racing heartbeat. No matter her relaxation technique, Yuuki felt her heart prominently pounding in her chest. She was determined to not let her emotions take control, even if she could not still her nervous heart. She refused to be average, she would fight it with every fiber of her being, "I have been told that I'm not very fun to be around, and I'm not sure if I know how to dance or not. I've never actually tried, nor ever had a reason to for that matter." Although her words cut into her skin like razor blades, she had to voice them, because he deserved to know her reputation before attending the event with someone who had made so many enemies within the past two days.

When Yuuki finally opened her eyes again there was hardened loneliness in her eyes. The rest of her facial features held true to her calm and collected façade. Mentally she was angry with herself, terrified, and extremely embarrassed. She wanted to scream at her parents for backing her into a corner like this. However, from what she currently knew about this boy, Harigae, Sora, he seemed like the ideal candidate if she absolutely had to attend the dance. He wasn't overly flamboyant, nor did he come across as a dimwit, in fact, he came across as the exact opposite. Although she would never admit it, Sora had piqued her interest as well, which was an extremely rare occurrence, a single anomaly if one wanted to be frank about it.

"You probably don't wish to go to the dance all swollen. Place this to the swollen area for a few minutes..."
Sora was uncertain if he was fit for dancing at present. Every fiber of his being was screaming in protest against the very notion but he was not the type of person to miss a school related event. "I refuse to miss out on an event due to someone else's personal feelings of inadequacy." he responded, taking no blame for what had transpired between him and the stubborn junior (Saburo). He clutched onto the ice pack he was given against his lower stomach, a quick twitch at the surprising cold.

After asking Yuuki to the dance, he naturally turned his gaze towards her for her acceptance or her refusal. If it were that she would decline him, he didn't have any other real options. He found this situation to be most convenient, especially as she was an interesting individual and appeared to be tolerant of his company contrary to most.
"I do not have a date, so I will accept your invitation if you're certain. However, I must warn you."
Sora quirked a brow eager to hear her next words, this 'warning' of sorts. His mind drew a blank on how this kind girl could prove to be problematic for him.

"I have been told that I'm not very fun to be around, and I'm not sure if I know how to dance or not. I've never actually tried, nor ever had a reason to for that matter."
For whatever odd reason, Sora was not affected. It showed in his stoic expression as if she had proposed something ridiculous to be true.
"Who would say such a thing?" a rhetorical question he muttered under his breath, rubbing his jaw that was still sore from the fight but made it appear as if he were thinking. "Fun is subjective and it is of my opinion that you would be fun to be around." He replied, staring into her golden eyes. While he was not at all gifted in reading people, he was sure there was something different about the look of her eyes. "And as for dancing..." He extended his hand out slowly to cup her chin to further analyse her eyes. He was curious what had changed but not ever taking account of normal social behavior, he could not realize he was possibly making the situation out to be intimate. "Like any other skill, can be learned." Unknown to him, the difference he was searching for was the girl's feelings of loneliness.

Barely managing to receive Yuuki's reply, his maid Emi Sato had discovered the two in the heat of the moment. In her standard maid outfit along with her neko ears, she was a strange sight indeed but Sora acted indifferent already accustomed to it. "Sora, there you are! What on earth happened?" Emi was also accustomed to Sora's unrestricted behavior of advancing flirtatiously on anyone. She solely referred to his presence in sickbay. "I'll discuss it later." He was growing wearisome of the topic and released Yuuki gently before being escorted out of sickbay with the assistance of his maid. "I'll see you tonight." He looked over his shoulder at Yuuki before parting ways.

--

"This is amazingly atrocious." he stated, glancing at himself briefly while seated in his limousine that was making its way for the castle. With little time to spare, he had designed a demon lord costume from the top of his head and had his maid see to the rest. It was a rushed effort but Sora had fun, fashion being a career he would like to venture into. It had also been their only option, seeing as the opening hours of the shopping centers had closed by the time he left Airdalen. However, Emi did not have fun having to sacrifice some of her own pieces of clothing to meet the fabric demand that made up the wings. She was just happy the other child under her wing (Skylar) had her own costume ready to go before she even knew the event existed. Sora's limousine was separate to the one for Skylar and he hadn't the opportunity to really talk to the girl but that was unimportant. "We've arrived."

Sora stepped out of his limousine as the driver held the door, the chain around his foot clanking against the ground as he walked onward. "Early." he thought aloud only spotting one other student present (Akira). "Neko is it? Is it some sort of trend?" Sora asked as he approached, stopping right in front of him to stare. He called it a trend because anything neko involved reminded him too much of his maid; the woman pretending the cat ears were real."You have an impressive abdomen." He strangely observed, his eyes lowering to the revealed section of costume as his limousine drove away. Sora didn't even remember that he already met this boy before during the fight occurrence, the costume making the connection difficult.

"I refuse to miss out on an event due to someone else's personal feelings of inadequacy."

Yuuki was inspired by the boy's determination, that much she knew for certain. This boy was unlike anyone she had ever met. In certain ways he reminded her of herself, but there were several things that set this boy apart from everyone else. He seemed to be highly intelligent, yet managed to socially function as well, at least better than Yuuki could ever hope to.

"Who would say such a thing?"

Well.. Yuuki thought to herself, but did not supply him with an actual answer, realizing it was not a question she was intended to answer, but she could supply the names of several imdividuals, including her own parents, that called her dull or boring.

"Fun is subjective and it is of my opinion that you would be fun to be around."

The violet haired girl remained silent, because she it wasn't like she was exactly sure how she should respond to Sora, or his compliments. Compliments regarding her personality were far and few between, so Yuuki was left dumbfounded when she faced such praise. The eye contact that he maintained further convinced her that Sora's words were genuine, a girl like Yuuki, she couldn't let herself be swept away. There was too much at stake, she couldn't be sidetracked now. I can handle it. A charming smile and a few nice words will not break my will to achieve my goal. Yuuki thought to herself, reassuring herself that she was strong enough, that the ice around her heart was thick enough to withstand a boy like Sora, not that she'd ever met a boy like him, so it was merely conjecture. Her cautious nature demanded for her to be wary, but Yuuki was still a teenage girl at heart. Nearly every teenage girl felt invincible when a cute boy praised them.

"And as for dancing..."

Yuuki's composure immediately shattered upon physical touch and a dark blush exploded upon her cheeks. To be honest, up until she began attending Airdalen, it had been some time since another student had broke the touch barrier, Arietta being the only other to do so, but it was considerably different when compared to Sora. She couldn't describe that difference, but she undeniably felt it.

"Like any other skill, can be learned."

The words caught her off guard, and suddenly everything in the room appeared brighter. It was as though a light was being shined on Sora the rest of the room. Logically speaking, she knew that his words were a basic truth. Dance, just like any other physical ability could be picked up by anyone, assuming they were physically able, with enough practice. Despite logic, despite herself, something struck a chord. Everything seemed so vivid and lively now.The eye contact involved shook her to her core. Yuuki did not realize it, but somewhere along the lines, she began holding her breath. Had it been a moment or over a minute? She couldn't tell; but she finally drew a small breath to keep from running out of air.

"Sora, there you are! What on earth happened?"

At the sound of another voice, Yuuki felt her entire body freeze in mortification. To be in this position was outrageous enough, but to be seen like this was an entirely new level of humiliation. Yuuki stumbled backwards almost the exact moment that Sora withdrew, eyes darting between Emi and Sora, both who seemed nonchalant about the entire ordeal. She mentally cursed herself for allowing herself to be drawn into such a compromising situation, but there was little she could do about it. Her parents were threatening her, so she had no choice but to attend the dance and deal with moments like this, for now at least. Don't get caught up. He's just a boy, he's a senior and he's intelligent, but he's still a boy and that means trouble. Boys are a distraction when it comes to school... Yuuki mentally cited to herself, seeing as the eccentric maid all but labeled Yuuki as invisible. However, she couldn't blame the girl, considering Sora's physical condition.

"I'll discuss it later."

Then her eyes landed on the maid one final time as she began to escort Sora out. She suddenly realized that this girl was Sora's maid. Sora was definitely not poor like herself. The situation struck Yuuki as if she had been stabbed with a spear. E-Eh?! He's... Why am I surprised...? I mean, look at this school..." Yuuki thought to herself, closing her eyes to hide her eyes from view. She felt an array of emotion and she did not want anyone else to witness it. She had displayed enough idiocy in front of Sora and during the fight, perhaps so much that it would be irreparable. At this rate she would have to harshly turn away so many people who deemed themselves as her 'acquaintances', or even 'friends', if they were forward like Arietta.

"I'll see you tonight."

"...Hai. See you then." Yuuki stated in a quiet tone. She felt trapped, trapped between her parents threat and her sacrifice to achieve her goal as fast as possible. Sure, if she was being honest with herself: She wanted to attend the dance and she wanted to let herself like a boy, especially one like Sora. What girl wouldn't want to do those things? However, Yuuki wasn't being honest with herself. How could she? Her father was sitting at home, terminally ill. Her mother was struggling to pay for hospital bills, and both took from their retirement to make sure that she could attend Airdalen. How could she be happy, relax and let herself do something as foolish as falling for a boy when her parents were suffering? How could she risk letting her grades slip when her parents put everything on the line for her education? She felt like the walls were closing in on her. What she wanted to do, what she thought she wanted to do, and what she had to do.. It was emotionally ripping her apart. Despite her tenacity, she couldn't keep this up forever. Slowly, but surely, she could feel the walls she built all those years ago beginning to crack. Sooner or later; the walls would come crumbling down and she would be forced to face every emotion she'd tucked away for the sake of her determination to cure her father.

Yuuki tugged at her costume as she boarded the train, her attire earning her several looks from other passengers. The last time she wore this many frills she was still attending preschool. Honestly the apparel was embarrassing, but she didn't have the time or the funds to retrieve anything else, plus her parents spent their hard earned money on it.. She had to wear it despite how badly she detested it. She started doing math problems on an app she downloaded to her phone, deciding to study at least a little during this 'leisure' time that her parents forced upon her. She lost all track of time as she immersed herself in the problems, until she heard the right stop called over the intercom. She stood, scurrying off of the train, accidentally leaving her jacket behind in her haste.

By the time she realized it, she was halfway to the castle. She assumed it was stolen by now, so she brushed it off as a careless loss. She was angry with herself, finding it difficult to finish the problem she was working on. She tilted her head at the problem, enjoying the challenge, but it did little to ease her irritation. How could I have been so thoughtless? I left my coat? It's not like it had anything important inside of it... but still. That's the first time I've ever done that.. She thought to herself, wondering if she had less grip on her emotions than she thought. Ever since she came to this school she couldn't seem to keep it together. What was it about this place that unnerved her? Or perhaps it was the people?

While she was not cold yet, she had no idea what was in store for her later that night. Either way, there was nothing she could do about it. As she finally saw the castle, she noticed the crowd of people that formed outside. Blinking curiously, she slowly approached. There were several odd individuals standing around, but two caught her eye immediately. The first was a tall male she was unfamiliar with (Ryou), who on another note was clearly exposing a lot of skin. Before she could become embarrassed by his appearance, Yuuki quickly turned her gaze to the other person of interest, who thankfully seemed to be showing a considerably less amount of his body. She approached him, seeing as he was her agreed upon date, "Harigae-Senpai, it's nice to see you... S-Sugoi! Your costume is interesting! What material was used to make the wings?" Yuuki asked, leaning her upper body to the side in order to examine the demonic wings better. Her golden eyes sparkled as she scanned the entirety of the costume, the challenge of mentally constructing a theory on how the wings were made bringing a glimmer to her features. She had several hypothesis, but without touching the wings, which she would not do so forwardly, she wouldn't be able to narrow down her thoughts, "I do not know where this costume came from... my parents sent it." She stated with a sigh, rubbing her temples. Then the violet haired girl asked her azure haired escort the question that had been bugging her since she arrived at the castle, "Why are we all standing outside..? Are we early or are they too afraid of a historical building and a fictional monsters?" she had not honestly checked the actual time for when this event started.. So she wasn't sure how long it was until they could go inside, or if they could already go in. When the school sent the text about the dance, she honestly had no intention of attending, so she wrote off most of the details.
