Setting
Ryan turned the pencil between his fingers. Studying the face of his Professor. It couldnt be. Red hadnt been seen in decades. People had thought him dead. He was still formulating his suspicion. Why would Red, the champion of the Pokemon League and one of the greatest trainers of all time, give up when Kanto needed him most? It just didnt make sense.
They were halfway through the lesson by now, and Ryan hadnt been taking notes. It wouldnt matter, if all ended well he wouldnt need to do his schoolwork much longer. Professor Redwood was pacing, as he often did when lecturing. The man was a history professor, and yet he never spoke of Kanto. Kanto was a huge part of Japan's history. It was the birthplace of the Pokemon League. It doesnt make sense that he would ignore that portion of history. This only made Ryans suspicions grow.
Redwood finished his lecture. "Ok, class dismissed. Please dont dilly dally I've got much work to do. Tomorrows lesson will cover a breif short-term history of the Kanto Region." With that Redwood strode off into his office.
Ryan stood up, his eyes still locked on Redwood. "Kanto" he breathed. What was Redwood hiding from them. Why was he afraid of his own region, even the way he said the name was hesitant. Like he was pushing back bad memories. Ryan hadnt heard much of Kanto lately, but he knew things were not going well there.
He shrugged his shoulders. He needed some help. but until then, he had to leave the classroom. He gathered his supplies and headed out.

"Gwen, Get the others and meet me in the usual spot. I need to talk to you guys." He left the message on his friends cell phone. She wasnt picking up, must be in class...
He Put the phone away and made for the park on campus. Back in the day this place was one of the final challenges for trainers hoping to compete in the Evergrande League. THey would have to scale this waterfall using only their pokemon. Since then it had been turned into a national park and nature reserve. He found a spot overlooking the great ocean. He could see the crater that was Sootopolis and the Sky Tower in the distance. He wondered if all of the Regions in Japan were this beautiful.
