Fen covered his nose with his sleeve. "He probably summoned it. What happens when a pet loses it's master? It grieves. In turn, what happens to a pet that is misused by his master? They become hateful and horrid. It's doing what it was created to do. It kills whoever finds the last body. The only think we can do to help this village is kill the dog or send it home." He explained as he kicked a burnt up bowl out of his way. "If anything... a dog is pretty loyal and it always comes home."

Kim looked over at Fen as he tried to get into his head and figure out what the wolfcat was thinking. "Do you intend to stay here for the night?", he asked. "... perhaps the creature originates here each night before it begins it's hunt." He grinned a bit as Fen nodded, confirming that he was indeed coming to the right conclusion. "Will you be able to handle this house tonight...?", he question. "The smell will not leave...", he warned.

"Tell me Kim, do you know how to kill a dark dog?" Fen asked as he moved around the house. "Because truthfully, I don't." He admitted as he ran his hands over a burned table. "Would you feel upset if we couldn't help these people?" He questioned, turning his attention back to the dragon that was standing not far from him. He didn't want to leave these people do the hell that this Kenner had brought to them, but he was at a loss of what to do.

Kim frowned and walked over to stand beside Fen. "I am afraid I do not know either how to defeat a hell hound.", he admitted. "And even if I would not feel upset over leaving these humans to their fate, I know that you would." He sighed softly and reached out, placing his hand lightly on Fen's shoulder. "You possess a sympathy for these creatures that I do not... but you are only better for it. ...that being said, I am willing to help you in whatever way is needed to save these people." He nodded firmly, convincing himself and doing his best to convince Fen that running away would not be the best option. "We may not know what is the best course of action at this moment, but you would never forgive yourself if you left."

Fen frowned and sighed. "I know nothing of Hell Hounds. Nothing other than they smell of sulfur and soot. They have bright red eyes, and will kill without a second thought." He stated. "I don't like this village, Kim. It makes me scared and I don't like being scared." He admitted. "You... you're a dragon. You probably have a better chance of killing this thing than I do." He said, kicking what he thought was a chair. "There has to be something in this brain of mine that knows something!" He snapped to himself, tugging at his hair. "Wait! I know! Dogs are loyal because they like their owners... this one killed is owner because it was misusing it! What if all we have to do is show respect for this creature? Befriend it. Maybe its rage will calm and it will easily be told to go home." He explained, eyes a bit wide.

Kim smiled a bit and nodded in agreement. "That could very well work.", he replied as he slid his hand off Fen's shoulder. He looked around the room, finding the fireplace pretty quickly and heading over to it. He stooped down and puffed a quick burst of flame onto the wood, setting it aflame. It lit up the room and cast more light on the frightful scene the hell hound had left. There was a large blackened area, several feet across, spreading over furniture and whatever else was in it's way. The dragon could only assume that the center of the area was where the hell hound would appear that night.

"Shall I scout the house?", he questioned after a moment, since they had decided they would stay there. "It has been many weeks since we have been able to sleep in a bed... we may have time to sleep before tonight." He was quite tired, he was always tired really. Fen didn't require as much sleep as he did.

Fen nodded a bit. As uncomfortable as the village made him feel, this house felt more safe than anywhere else within the village walls. "A bed sounds nice." He murmured as he started looking around a bit more. He couldn't help but feel sorry for the hound that was forced into slavery and lost his 'master'. 'Humans shouldn't dwell in things that they don't understand.' He thought to himself as he looked over at the corner. That was where the hound would show. Right in that corner. Maybe a bed wasn't needed. Maybe they could just stay by the fire and rest. Bring the bed to them instead of going to the bed itself?

Kim watched Fen for a moment before turning down the hall and making his way passed several darkened rooms. He found the bedroom pretty easily and made his way inside, the piles of occult books surprising him a bit. He lit a lamp in the room so he could see better before going over to Kenner's desk and looking through a book he had open. It only confirmed his suspicion that the beast was a hound, but now he began questioning Kenner's motives. Why had the man summoned this beast? Had it killed before it devoured it's master? What was the purpose to it all?

The dragon was getting odd vibes from the room the longer he stayed there... but his curiosity had been aroused. He looked around a bit more, morbidly pleased when he found a small worn journal. He flipped through it quickly, skimming the pages until he got to more recent entries. His eyes widened as he read over the words... It was the last thing he had expected. "Fen!", he called as he continued looking through the journal, his ears flattening a bit as he read.

Fen hurried into the room where Kim was. "What is... it..." He stopped as he saw all the books in the room. "Just what was this human doing? There's enough books in here for months of study... this can't be recent things." He said as he looked over at the dragon.

"What do you have there anyway? Some kind of journal?" He asked as he tried to peek at the leather book. "What's it say?" He added, standing on his toes to try and get a better look. He was highly curious now. Being that this human had been delving into things that he obviously shouldn't have even been thinking about. Seemed as though this place was going to get more interesting than just a helplessly lost dog.

Kim frowned and looked over at his companion. "This village is hiding things.", he replied. "Very dark things..." He sighed and handed Fen the journal. "From what I read... Fenner is only a victim here. He did not cause this. The hound is his work yes... but apparently only for protection... the hound did not kill his master... though I am quite sure it killed Letta. But only because it believed she was responsible for his master's death."

The dragon went over to Fen and flipped towards the back of the journal. "Here... Kenner makes reference to the villagers planning something... a ritual of some sort. I believe it may be in reference to the festival Jakol told us about." He paused an looked over at Fen to ensure he was following him. "...I believe the bodies they are burning are nods wards... but rather sacrifices... for.. a demon of some sort." He frowned and closed the journal. "Only... I can not imagine why."

Fen frowned. "Looks like we're going to need the dog then... and possibly need to talk to our friend Jakol again." He said, growling. "Kim... I'm starting to really want to burn down this entire village and I'm not going to be so upset if we have to. Demons are nothing to play with and if they're trying to summon them... we can't let them succeed." He explained as he looked around the room some more. "A demon worshiping village... makes all the books make more sense then." He added.

Kim nodded and looked back at the piles of books around the room. "Most of these contain information on how to ward off demons and protect oneself.", he stated. "Kenner must have began studying when he learned what the village was doing... perhaps in an effort to stop them." The dragon went over to the desk slowly and picked up a book that looked very worn. "I still do not understand why the village would want to summon a demon though...", he mused. "I think it would be wise to speak with Jakol again.", he agreed before setting the book back down and turning to Kim.

Fen grinned wildly. "Does this mean I can be forceful if I have to be?" He asked, getting a bit excited. If he loved one thing, it was scaring humans. It was always so fun to see them almost wetting themselves for some reason. He supposed that was the wolf half of him doing such things but he quite enjoyed it. He was looking forward to possibly scaring this human souless, though if Jakol spilled easily, he would be okay with that too.

Kim nodded a bit. "If you have to.", he replied seriously, not finding much amusement in the situation. He much rather enjoyed peaceful conflicts if there was a need for conflicts at all. "Shall we go look for Jakol?", he asked. "It will be getting dark before long... and I am not sure how the hound would react to find us invading his master's home."

Fen nodded. "I'd still like to help this hound return home. It needs to go back to where it belongs." He explained as he walked out of the room. "First though, we need to find that human, get some answers from him." He added as he walked to the front door. He waited for Kim to follow after him before leaving the house and covering his nose. He'd already forgotten how bad the outside smelled.

Kim walked along side Fen, breathing deep the smell of burning flesh as they walked outside. He had no sympathy for the sacrificial humans, to him they just smelled tasty. But he could understand the injustice in it all, but more than though, he understood the need to stop the humans in the village from summoning whatever it is they were.

"He lived this way..? Correct?", the dragon asked as he turned towards the direction they had come. People were peering out of heir houses again, and the way they watched unnerved him greatly. It was growing dark too, the last rays of sunlight disappearing over the fence line. Within a few more moments it was night... and as the sun disappeared, the villagers began to leave their houses and gather in the town square. "...you are seeing this... yes?", Kim asked Fen as he stepped back into the shadow of a house and tugged the wolf cat with him. He would rather they not be seen.

Fen peeked around Kim curiously. "What the hell are they doing?" He questioned, watching the humans as they went to the town square. "I bet that's where our demon is going to come out." He murmured, ears flat against his head. He didn't like this at all. It was only a matter of time before the hound showed up and time was running short to stop the villagers of summoning whatever they were going to summon. This village was truly messed up and he was wondering if he could help them to begin with.

Kim frowned and watched the villagers, starting to feel quite concerned, mostly for Fen. "...what do we do now..?", he questioned after a moment, glancing back at the wolfcat. "It seems we are... in over our heads?" He sighed and looked back at the villagers, spotting a lone person standing and watching them as well. The person didn't quite seem to fit in with the rest of the villagers. He was wearing much nicer clothes and eyed the people in the town square like meat.

The dragon frowned and nudge Fen slightly, trying to draw his attention to the man standing apart from the villagers. "Why... do I get the feeling he is the one behind this?", Kim asked quietly, without taking his eyes off the mysterious man.

Fen's ears perked a bit as he looked at the villager. "Well, he looks suspicious." He murmured taking a sniff of the air. "Kim do you smell... sulfur?" He asked, holding back a sneeze. That wasn't the only thing he smelled though, the strong smell of soot blew through the air as well. "We may have two problems at the moment, Kim. I believe our dog just showed up." Things could only go down hill from here, and knowing this village, they probably would in a matter of moments.

Kim paused and looked back at Kenner's house just moments before a loud, ferocious howl ripped through the air. He continued watching as the door swung open, revealing the supernatural beast as it stepping outside menacingly. The villagers didn't even seem to take notice, they continued to gather, and Kim could swear he heard them chanting. The only person who took notice of the hound other than them, was the mysterious man, but he simply grinned before disappearing like he was never there.

The dragon frowned deeply, unsure of what needed to be done. The hound would surely attack the villagers, oblivious as they were. And the man... where had he gone too? Kim felt very strongly that he needed to be stopped. It seemed like he was controlling the villagers. "You have yet to tell me what we should do next...", Kim murmured as he looked behind him towards Fen. He gasped in surprise when all he saw were empty shadows. "Fen!", he whispered harshly as he looked around for his companion. He just knew the wolfcat had run off to do something dangerous.
