Setting

East Avenue is one street out of four, the others being North, South, and West. It is one long road that ends with a roundabout. Each house is identified with letters instead of numbers, so there's a total of 24 houses, 12 on each side of the road. The Neighborhood has a little park for kids to play, and a pond for people to fish if they chose to do so. It's a quiet street, a couple miles from any freeway.

"Oh boy oh boy!" Kaylee said excitedly, hearing the word of a newcomer to the neighborhood. She dashed around her kitchen, pulling out tupperware of all sorts. Her traditional way of greeting someone new was to treat them to a homemade specialty of hers; her double layered black forest cherry cake. She pulled out different condiments from her fridge and spice cabinet, turning the stove on to preheat. "This is so exciting! I bet they're nice!" she sang to herself as she mixed up the batter.

Gordon calmly moseyed down the street, looking around for his ridiculous friend. "Waaaaldo." he called out. "Where'dya go, eh?" Gordon said with a sigh, holding the neatly folded towel over his arm.
Waldo stopped for a minute, sensing something different about the neighborhood. He froze and looked around, surveying the area. He couldn't put his nose on it, he just knew something was there that wasn't there before. "People?" He curiously said to himself as he trotted over to the house with the damaged mailbox.

Gordon looked over to the newcomer. "Oh, much obliged. Say, I've never seen your face around here before. You new here, eh?" he asked.

"PEOPLEEEE~"

Just at that very moment, Waldo came bounding out of nowhere and tackled Gordon to the ground. He resumed himself on the ground for a little bit, then grunted and hoisted himself up to his feet. He brushed himself off, then tied the towel around Waldo's waist.
"Cover your shame, eh guy?" he said with narrow eyes. Waldo stood there grinning stupidly at the new neighbor. Gordon looked back over at Mason. "My condolences for my friend here, his cogwheels don't function quite right. I'm Gordon, welcome to the neighborhood." He smiled a friendly smile, holding out his hand for Mason to shake.

*ding!* went the bell on the oven. Kaylee had a bright smile on her face as she slipped on her oven mitts to pull it out. The alluring fumes of the cake wafted in her nostrils, she just might bake another one later for herself!
She set the cake inside her freezer so it would cool down faster and make icing it a lot easier. About a half hour later, she pulled it out, getting the cake out of its base and onto a cardboard platform, then set the platform onto an elevated surface. As she worked her magic, the final product was a beautifully decorated black forest cake, delicious chocolate flakes coated the outside of it with whip cream dollops in sequences on top, each with a single cherry gently placed into the dollop.
"Perfect~!" she sang as she hung up her apron, taking the cake off of the elevated base and into a proper cake container, then out the door she went.
G, H, I, J, K, L... she thought to herself as she walked down the street, looking at each house as she passed, and the ebony letter that hung from each door. Up ahead, she saw Gordy and Waldo, and an unfamiliar face. "Hey!" she called out, holding the cake out in front of her a little bit as she picked up her pace with her flats subtly making a pit pat noise as she walked.

Gordon laughed nervously a little bit. "Yeah, well, it's generally quiet here. Although there's some chaotic moments, you just can't help but get attached to this place, eh." he explained, switching his weight to the other leg and folding his arms over his chest after running his fingers through his hair. His gaze turned to where Mason was looking at, to see Kaylee happily trotting their way with her specialty in her hands.
Waldo caught the scent of the cake, licking his lips and swallowing hard. He refrained himself from any movement. He wanted it, and Gordon could see it. He placed his hand on the back of Waldo's neck and gave a warning squeeze, narrowing his eyes at him before looking back to Mason with a friendly grin.

"Hi there I'm Kaylee welcometotheneighborhood~!" she said as she reached the three boys. She talked in a bit of a fast-paced manner that had some hints of a Spanish dialect, holding the cake up to Mason's face exuberantly. "I made this for you! I make it for everyone new. It is delicious! You simply must try it!" she said with a wide smile, her blue eyes peering out from behind the cake.
