"No hard feelings, it's just business."
He's light-hearted in general, and finds lots of things amusing. He holds a genuine interest in things that are new to him, mainly because most of his childhood was spent in the country and the city fascinates him. But he's quite hard-working and loyal to the family, always putting their best interests at heart. He does have limits to his temper, however, and that's where the real mafioso in him comes out. Ruthless, and even cold when thrust into dangerous situations; He thinks of it as "purely business". He also puts the lives of his family first, always supporting them in one way or the other. Sometimes the other family members find his easy-going ways as unfit for a mafioso as himself, but he never minds it.
Luca spent most of his childhood in Southern Italy, living with his mother and grandmother in a tiny country village. His father was primarily absent during these years, he did write to his son to maintain their relationship, although what he does for a living was a complete mystery to Luca. On his 12th birthday, however, his father decided to come home, much to the surprise of the entire family. It was an even bigger shock when he told Luca he would be taking him away to live with him in the city. The boy was eager to come with his father, in the pretext of getting to know him more and to see other places than this village he grew up in.
He never expected that his father took him to the main house of the Marciano Family, a powerful Italian mafia with which his father was working for. There he spent the rest of his life as a pawn for the family, and entering the vicious and cruel underworld that is the mafia. At times he longed to go back to his peaceful village life and come home to his mother, but his father kept telling him, "If you want to protect your family, you have to be that man, Luca. Be that man." So there he stayed, not aspiring to be a boss but in order to protect both of his families.
