Pokémon Nickname: Nova
Personality: Kira Loves pokemon and would rather play with them than watch them battle. But she understands that for survival in the wild a pokemon must know how to battle. She is shy and doesn't necessarily like meeting new people, but this fear is quickly overcome by her love of pokemon, if she sees someone with a pokemon she will rush over to meet it, and thus meet the trainer despite her shyness. She is often passive and rarely stands up for herself, the only exception is when a pokemon is being mistreated, she will instantly defend ANY pokemon that is in danger or abused. Although she is shy once you get to know you will find that she is a fun and outgoing person who wants nothing more than to be friends with people. Although she went to the school to help shadow pokemon, they scare her, they are nothing like the loving and fun pokemon she spends time with, instead they remind her of her family.
Pokemon Personality: Nova is a fun loving pokemon who loves to play. Although she is strong and will defend Kira or any pokemon in danger. Unlike Kira, Nova is not shy and is often the reason Kira meets new people and makes friends.

Her father owns and operates a Water Gym with the help of her brother. She grew up surrounded by pokemon trained for battle there was no happiness or love in their lives only training and battling. When her father heard about the shadow pokemon his eyes lit up and after that day Kira saw all of the pokemon that used to be at the gym disappear and were replaced by vicious pokemon who attacked brutally. One day when she was 14 she was walking in the forest she met a pride of Shinx and Luxio, with one Luxray. She was afraid of them, as she was most pokemon at the time, but they seemed different than the pokemon she grew up with. When they approached her they smiled. She spent 3 hours that day playing with the pokemon she had no idea that pokemon were beings that could be loved, beings that could be friends. When she returned to the gym she tried to befriend the pokemon there, but being shadow pokemon, they had no love to give. A few days later she heard about the school where the students train to help shadow pokemon and she was determined to learn all she could, to save the pokemon at the gym from her father. She told her father she was leaving and he told her she could only leave if she could beat him in an official gym battle, Kira hated battling because but she knew that pokemon in the wild battle to survive, unfortunately battling in a gym wasn't survival, it was "fun" Kira she wanted it to end. It was an intense battle both parties using equally strong Shadow/Water pokemon (Kira not having a pokemon of her own used one of the gym's pokemon), eventually Kira prevailed against her father, begrudgingly taking the badge he offered her and left for the school. She trained as a see-er at the school not making many friends, but befriended almost all of the pokemon on the island. Her teachers let her get her pokemon at 16 like every student. She didn't go far to find her pokemon, she approached a Shinx on the outskirts of town that she had previously befriended. She asked the Shinx to be her partner so they could help pokemon together, to which the Shinx reacted happily. She caught it in a standard pokeball and instantly sent it out. Telling her that she need not travel in a pokeball, as they were friends and friends walk together.
