Introduction

Basic Premise
The afterlife is what you make of it, or rather, it is exactly where you believe you will go after your death. With the recent rise of Isekai Reincarnation novels however, there is an increasing amount of people (read: Chuunibyou) to be reincarnated into a fantasy world with their memories and a cheat, to the point a special department was made for them. This fiction focusses both on said department, and the fantasy world the reincarnators that go through it find themselves in.

You've tried to deny it for a while, but the unfortunate fact remained, you died. Maybe you were killed, maybe you wasted away due to illness or natural causes. Most likely, you've been hit by Truck of Doom-sama though.

When Random Shmuck finally walked into the light though, they found themself standing before a beautiful Goddess.

"Ara, how unfortunate...", she says with a compassionate smile. "You likely have already realised this, but you have died"

She takes a breathe and continues: "Based on your preferences in life, you have been allowed to reincarnate into another world, potentially with your memories intact."

"What a cliché development", Random Shmuck eventually says, before asking sarcastically, "Do I get a cheat too?"

The woman either didn't notice, or pretended not to notice Random Shmuck's sarcasm.

"Ofcourse", she replies, "But in the interest of fairness, these need to be bought with Karma Points"

Her smile remains gentle, but somehow, Random Shmuck had a bad feeling.

In the end, it was a depressed Random Shmuck that was send on to the Next Great Adventure. He hadn't committed any great evils, but he hadn't worked to better the world, or even just himself, despite the suffering clear for all to see, and the blaring warnings that humanity was on a path to extinction, as they destroyed the earth's ecosystem. He had lived a comfortable life, never knowing hardships until the day he died.

In the end he had consumed a lot of Karma Points to live said blessed life, while barely earning any, leaving him in the red.

What did they do to deserve said cheat?

For genuine Kerobians:
