Introduction
The small English village of Bridgewall is a town just like any other...except for a small detail: The Wall of Yonder, which is forbidden to be passed by anyone other than the keeper of the wall. If this was true however, then we would have no role play...and where would the fun be in that?
But before we get into that, let's travel into another dimension...through the crack in the Wall of Yonder to the magical kingdom of Moonarch. A land of magic, power, and things unknown to mere mortals, Moonarch is a place of wonder...but ever light cast a shadow, and in the dark lurks evil.
Moonarch was ruled by a kindhearted king, who in his youth found a fallen star and claimed her as his bride. Under their rein, Moonarch blossomed, and there was joy throughout the land, but questions rose on who would rule when their beloved King and Queen returned to the sky. The answer laid with a golden compass, which read: A Moonach heart Holy true shall point true through, but if wrong hands should the compass fall, then Moonarch would crumble...as would all Yonder the wall.
Upon the abandoned throne a blood ruby was placed, and there it took the Kings place. With every passing day the ruby faded until it resembled nothing of the deep crimson stone that once graced the royal throne. The castle of Moonarch became lost, along with the stone, and the only hopes of finding it rested with the compass, but before they descended to the sky, the king set the compass free in hopes it would find the rightful leader of Moonarch.
Instead, the compass placed itself into the hands of young Fredrikson J Kinderlon, a pristine candle maker who was on a great breakthrough...a candle that could teleport you anyplace you could think. He called it a Kinderlon Stick, and it quickly became well known throughout Moonarch for good and evil alike.
It was with his creation the compass made its way into the land of mortals. Once Fredrikson reveled to his mother and wife that he was in possession of the very compass the king said would lead a great man to rule Moonarch, both claimed their right to the golden compass, and in fear of their greed, Fredrikson lite the Kinderlon Stick to bring the compass,a long with himself, to its true holder, a person, he would soon find, was not yet of age.
There, a brittle old man with shinning eyes and a knowing smile greeted Fredrikson. He handed to him a wooden walking stick, a worn cape, and a sealed letter. With the words "None shall pass over Yonder Wall", the man turned into a powerful light that cast into the sky.
Years past, and the land of Moonach became twisted with lust for power. Light became overcome by the darkness, and evil ruled the land. Their one hope had been long ago lost, and many had forgotten about the tale of the Golden Compass.
Over Yonder Wall, in Bridgewall, mortals lived as they always have. They knew nothing of the appending darkness, and although many tales had been spread about what lay beyond the stone wall, none had dare pass it...none other than Richard Merkins over a century ago, who at seventeen, with nothing but a walking stick and cape, traveled through the gap never to be seen again.
Richard Merkins had made it over Yonderwall into the land of Moonach, and there he met Sarea, the daughter of an angel and a star who was forever bound to guard Yonder Wall. Taken with her, Richard vowed to her his heart, and in return she gave herself to him completely.
They lived happily for many years and watched as their precious son grew, found a star of his own, and made her his Queen....but tragedy wasn't far. A witch by the name of Corydon lusted to be young once again, something that can only be accomplished with the heart of a star, and Sarea paid the price.
However Sarea wasn't a true fallen star, and Corydon wasn't able to keep her youth long. Her sights soon settles on the Queen, and with the fear of losing his wife along with his mother, the King made a choice.
With his his wife weak from the birth of their first child, the King sent his infant son to the land of his father away from any threats Moonach might possess. There, a blacksmith and his wife took the infant in and raised him along side their own son.
Many years passed, and the infant child grew into a young man.He followed in his fathers footsteps and became a blacksmith, but his eyes always wondered too long over Yonder Wall....
One night as he slept a voice came to him, calling out his name and echoing in the distance. Awakened, he assured himself it was a dream...until he heard it once again. Leaping from his bed, he gazed out his window and watched in shocked as a woman glowing like a burning candle glided over the ground before disappearing through the stoned wall. Grabbing nothing but a coat and his shoes he followed , only to be stopped by a old man who uttered the words "None shall pass over Yonder Wall".
