Elaine is tall, 5ft10, and broadly built, prone to heaviness if she doesn't work out every day. Even so, her police uniform is tight-fitting, particularly around the bust and hips. She recently cropped her dark curls tight to her head.
Her uniform is the standard Maryland State Trooper: olive pants with a black stripe down the side, and a tan colored button-up shirt. Elaine has dispensed with the tie and lost the hat.

Description
Personality
Elaine is invariably in good humour; even in the most trying circumstances, she has a wisecrack remark or words of encouragement to keep spirits up. She leads by example, but she knows not everyone has her courage, which she acknowledges is at least partly due to the discipline and pride of being a police officer, not to mention her training in firearms.
While she's protective of those weaker than her, and of anyone who's genuinely scared, sick, or otherwise damaged, Elaine won't put up with people taking advantage of her or of others. Malingerers, thieves and cowards will get a no-nonsense slap upside the head for their first offence, and retribution will escalate from there.
Despite her warm appearance, Elaine is not hampered by sentiment in the fight for survival. While training to join the force, she also took a career development module as a triage nurse; she isn't afraid to make tough decisions to ensure her - and humanity's - survival.
Equipment
Elaine carries the standard-issue Glock 22 handgun. The clip carries 15 .40 S&W rounds, and Elaine has three spare clips, meaning she currently has 60 rounds.
