Enough sight-seeing. Though he very much appreciated the wonderful aesthetics of the ānatureā part of the city, he had something he needed to do. Asā¦a slightly more nomadic individual, despite his lineage, this was the first in a long time that he decided to settle down in a town. Plainly put, he needed a place to stay, and he knew just the person to go toā¦an elder stranger. You see, heās been trailing the elderly woman for some time. It wasnāt the matter of being ācreepyā or āpervertedā, it was a matter of his survival in this town. He needed to make sure that the old woman had her own, secure, private homeā¦had a family, at some pointā¦and was strong enough to keep to herself. She was. And so, it was time to make his move, now that she was alone.
The old woman sat on the park bench by herself, watching the ducks and ducklings splashing in the water, throwing bits of stale bread at them and watching in calm delight as they swarmed in front of her. Unconsciously, minor use of his mesmerism caused the birds to panic and dispersed as he made his approach quietlyā¦as if sensing him, she turned round to look at him. She looked confused at his staring at her, with a sombre expression on his rather handsome face, āExcuse meā¦? Are youā¦looking for someoneā¦?ā Instead of answering her, Nathan moved closer, with his hand out stretchedā¦reaching for her. Reacting to such a creepy and strange action, the old woman was about to scream when she felt the manās hand rest on her forehead, then she went silent.
Staying like this for a minute, Nathan eventually removed his hand and smiled down at the old woman. She blinked her eyes after a few seconds before looking up at him and smiling, āNathan, dear, come give your grandma a hug. I havenāt seen you in years!ā Letting out a very natural, easy-going laugh, Nathan did just that.
āItās good to see you too, grandmother.ā
