Background: Kalina was the eldest daughter of a smith and his wife. She learned to be a blacksmith since her only brother neither had interest nor the physical condition to be a blacksmith. After learning to be a blacksmith, Kalina went to study at the city university for two years. Years later, the war broke out. Kalinas family left and Kalina left soon after. She boarded a boat to find a new home and volunteered to be a school teacher as soon as they would land somewhere on an island. Now she has landed on a forest island. During the beginning of the war, Kalina lost her left eye.
