Favorite Type of Pokémon: Although she likes all pokémon, she has a preference for ghost and dark types. However, Luce holds an even more special place in her heart.

Appearance: Raine stands at about 5’6” and has a slender build from constant activity. She has short dark hair that just brushes at her neck, and it’s just long enough to tie at the nape of her neck. Although she usually keeps it loose, she ties it back whenever she has need for her acrobatic antics. It's just long enough to tie, but sometimes it gets undone and annoys her. Her bright green eyes are always eager, and it is often difficult to decipher the meaning behind the smirk on her face. She values comfort over style, and her usual attire consists of a tight, sleeveless black shirt with a long, hooded white vest over it. She never zips her vest up, and even the zippers on its pockets are usually left open for quick access. She wears dark-green pants and black sneakers, and wears a black Xtransceiver on her left wrist (She uses C-gear instead of the other options). All in all, she could sometimes be called rather boyish in appearance, but she doesn’t mind that much.

Personality: Raine is a cryptic character who doesn’t shy away from people, but never really gets close to them. She is rather reserved about herself in conversation. One can meet her every day, and still realize they know absolutely nothing about her. She seems to be attracted to danger, and seems to openly seek it out with an eager grin on her face. Raine also appreciates both a good physical and mental workout, be it a brain-teaser or a particularly difficult jump. However, she doesn’t like it when people openly challenge her, finding it irritating. She isn’t the kind to let her negative emotions lead her around and make a foolish decision based on a jab at her pride. Her enthusiasm, however, is a whole different issue...

Raine is of the stubborn sort, but not that she will always get her own way – what’s important to her is the result. Instead of trying the same method over and over, she will find other means to get what she wants, which she almost always does. If that means she has to lie or trick a few people while doing it, she will. She lies when she has to, when she wants to, and rarely genuinely regrets it.

Although she has little regard for rules such as trespassing (and to a lesser degree, stealing), she takes rules regarding pokémon battle and contests very seriously. She’ll get angry at anyone who cheats at a game, and just to spite them, beat their cheating ways fairly. As for whether she plans to take on the gyms or the contests though, Raine isn't all too sure yet. She plans to let what happen just happen... but she seems to be a little interested in chasing that notorious Team Fate...

When it comes to travelling companions, Raine is the type of person who thinks that her pokémon are enough. She won’t chase away people that tag along, but she will never be the one to follow another. At the same time, she won’t really go out of her way to lend a helping hand to a person unless she sees it benefitting herself in some way.

Some people might notice that she opens up to her pokémon a lot more than to people.

She's not the best of people, but not the worst either. Perhaps with time, this journey and her adventure will change it.

Bio: Raine was an only child who grew up in the city. Her family wasn’t particularly wealthy, but they had what they needed, and her mother ran a successful flower boutique.

Raine’s father was a pokémon myth-hunter who wildly chased after rumors of legendary creatures and aliens from outer space in hopes of catching them. When she was eight years old, he left her with her mother seeking the source of a rumor of a wish-granting pokémon. Raine’s mother took this in a rather bitter sense, and though she tried to care for her daughter the best she could, she could not give the small girl all the love and attention she needed. In fact, Raine’s mother seemed to devote herself almost completely to her business in an effort to forget.

Because of this, Raine grew up rather independent soul, and also rather inexperienced with normal social interaction. Being shunned by the other children, she pulled their attention to her by performing eye-catching stunts and won their acceptance in that manner. However, through this relationship, she never had any true ‘friends’.

After an incident of befriending a stray meowth, and a run-in with a couple shuppets, Raine discovered an interest in pokémon and asked her mother to allow her to study them. Her mother, still angry at her husband’s disappearance chasing pokémon of legends, did not allow her to. However, over the years, Raine had developed a sort stubbornness that would not let her give up. She insisted on it, and when that didn't work, she went right up and signed herself up for classes.

Eventually her mother had no choice but to give into her daughter’s determination, and allowed her to study pokémon.

Now four years later, here she is with Luce by her side, Pokédex in hand, and more of a daredevil than ever. She’s determined to pave her own path in the world, although she’s not quite sure what sort of path that will be. Only time, and her adventures will tell... she plans to let her journey take her to her true path on its own.


Anything Else: As a child before her father left, Raine took lessons in gymnastics which is the reason for her unusual flexibility and acrobatic feats. Although she gave it up early on, she developed her skills in what she believes to be more practical ways by impressing other children with her daredevil antics. She is also proud to say she has never broken a bone. Also, Raine may be physically fit, but that only assists her with speed, and flexibility. Her physical power is minimal, and she would like to improve her stamina a little bit more. Oh, and she never learned how to ride a bicycle, so that could prove difficult for her. Her current plan of action is to convince the people at cycling road to let her take a scooter or rollerblades on the thing instead. She has mixed feelings regarding legendary pokémon thanks to her father.

Luce is affectionately described by Raine as a sweetheart, and his timid ways make him rather intimidated by others. However, he is clearly attached to his trainer, and seems determined to please her. He seems a little frightened of ghost pokémon, and he likes sweet foods. He can’t handle spicy foods though.

Raine's recently caught treecko seems a little irked by his defeat, but also seems to regard his new trainer with some respect. He seems a cool personality, but tends to not know when to give up - he is also very picky, which caused his new trainer some grief. Raine hopes his fearlessness will rub off on Luce a bit. He gets seasick rather easily, and holds a grudge against Raine's new spinarak.

Raine's latest addition to her team - a nocturnal spinarak with a little vindictive personality! Not towards her and Luce though - rather, she seems rather happy to be travelling with them. She's a little too lively for her own good though...
