Tiny Bit of History: Originally from Pyrite Town (Orre), he was a trainer before he found a depressed and previously released Roselia with black & violet roses on its hands instead of red & blue ones. Gene comforted her and she let Gene catch her, and she convinced him to try contests. Despite having his history as a trainer (having won all the badges of Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh), Gene found himself loving contests a million times more, and decided to switch. He's only participated in three contests so far, outside of any leagues, but he's made it to at least the final four in all three, with his second contest being his first victory. Now, he plans to take Unova only as a coordinator, with his unique and newly evolved Roserade (thanks to an old friend's gift of a shiny stone), two other old Pokemon that had an interest in contests, and one he recieved as a gift from his grandmother in Striaton City.
