I guess since I'm telling you this story, I should begin with how I fit into the puzzle. My parents divorced about thirteen years ago. My mom took me while Joey, my brother, stayed with my dad. We grew up very different lives, Joey and I. I was sheltered and dotted on, while Joey was introduced to the darker side to life. Looking back now, I never really spent much time around my dad. Even when he was with mom he was always leaving and coming at random hours of the day or night. Anyway, back to me.
I lived with my mom until spring of last year, that's when she became sick. Money was tight, and she needed to be taken care of...so dad stepped in. I went to live with he and my brother, while mom was sent to a local hospital....she passed not long after. Things were awkward for awhile, and I could tell things were not as they seemed. Joey took to big brother role pretty fast, and tried to do the "sibling thing", but he never seemed to be completely there...
