Introduction
In the pridelands, life is hard.
The Texas Werelion Pride has seen more than its fair share of tough times, though nothing could prepare the group for being betrayed by one of their own. Not even the two so-called 'Princes' of their Pride, with their constant squabbling, could compare to the unknown traitor in their midst.
[color=#C77826]Though there are just under fifty werelions roaming through Texas, only a few of them chose to stay in the ‘Den’, due to the fact that fully grown unmated male werelions have difficulty being around each other for any extended period of time without trouble breaking out. Mated couples often stay near the Den, where the safety of their future children can be ensured. Unlike real lions, all ‘cubs’ are treasured, and viewed as family by every member of the pride.
The Alpha
~Lord of the Pridelands~
At the head of this complex group is the Alpha, whose duties not only included representing the Texas Pride to the rest of the supernatural community and keeping his borders protected, but making sure the pride stays on safe financial ground and remains undetected by humans. He manages all of this from the Pride’s home base –their Den- in Northern Texas. Without his Lieutenants, whom he’s grown up with, and his Mate, chosen as part of the requirements for him to take over his father’s place as Alpha, it is unlikely that just one person could hold this complex Pride together.
The Alpha’s Sons
~Princes at War~
Unfortunately, sibling rivalry –especially between sons- abounds, particularly when it comes to the sons of the Alpha, whom are in constant competition to see who is more fit to rule the Pridelands when their father steps down. So far, this rivalry hasn’t spiraled into violence, but every day, the two seem to get just a little closer. It doesn’t help that they also must find a mate before either of them can truly think about becoming Alpha themselves.
The Alpha Female and her Lionesses
~Sisters of the Hunt~
As in a true Pride, lionesses are the true power behind the Pride. They are huntresses, sisters that represent the future of all werelions. Though they obey their alpha, their true leader is his mate, who leads them on their hunts. She is fierce and powerful, the so-called Mother of her Pride. Those that pledge allegiance to her mate also obey her command, and her status is essentially equal to that of the head Lieutenant.
The Lieutenants
~Protectors and Enforcer of Pride Law~
The Head Lieutenant is the Alpha’s closest advisor, and overseers of all things that involve Pride Security. It is his and his lieutenants’ job to keep track of the strays that refuse to bow to the Pride’s dominance and make sure that no human has to suffer from a werelion’s life-changing bite. They are the law of the Pridelands, and they take their jobs very seriously.
The Traitor
~The Snake In Lion’s Clothing~
The traitor came to the pack as a stray, a loner looking for safety in numbers. Beyond the typical suspicions that come whever Pride cats deal with Strays, no one thinks twice about this hard-working loner. What they don’t know is that this werelion is working with the government in a program known as SICA: Supernatural Infiltration and Containment Agency. For whatever reason, be it genuine anger of blackmail, this cat has chosen to betray his or his kind, as well as the entire supernatural community.

Description: 150 Words ((Pictures may be used in addition to this))
~Please include a short description of your character’s lion form, including things like size, coat color, eye color, etc. These things must be realistic, or you will not be accepted.
Personality: 300 words
~Make this realistic and interesting, but remember your characters background and the fact that they have a big cat sharing part of the psyche. You can include a description of how this ‘other side’ behaves, if you want to.
Equipment: Varies
~ List down any extra info (job, skills, hobbies, precious items, theme song etc. etc. here)
History: 700 Words
~What is your character’s relation to the rest of the Pride? What is your character’s family like? What events have affected your character? Where were they born? Why do they stay near the Den instead of traveling throughout the Pridelands?

Things to keep in mind
~Werelions can transform at will, but must change at least once a month in order to keep their other side from taking over. Light from a full moon hitting bare skin automatically forces a change, and this is the only time a were of any sort cannot actually trigger a change themselves. If a were is not allowed to change on the nights of the full moon, it can cause intense emotional, physical, and psychological distress. Because of this ‘Keep-Ins’ are one of the most powerful disciplinary tools at the Alpha’s disposal.
~Werelions use a force to dominate and control weaker lions while in Human form. This power, generally referred to as Dominance, increases with age, and is stronger in born-Were than bitten ones. It also increases with age. The Alpha should always be the one with the most of this power. Without it, he would not be able to be an effective leader.
~Werelions that live in the Den are essentially segregated from most humans, while some of the wanderers live among them. Most ‘cubs’ are homeschooled, due to the fact that it takes nearly fourteen years for most to learn to entirely control their shifts. All lions living in the Prideland generally have some sort of job that allows them to make some extra income to buy things that the Den doesn’t provide, usually working in one of the several companies created by a group of Alpha from dozens of groups of Were-creature in order to support the large expenses their groups require.
~The only time a human can become infected by the ‘Were Virus’ is during the evening of the full moon. The transformation is very taxing on the body, and only very healthy humans survive. Even if they do physically survive, bitten Were’s, or any Were that doesn’t have control of its other side, can go ‘Feral’ or ‘Rabid’. Feral cats –by choice or not- end up living in their lion forms, sometimes barely hanging onto their humanity. If they do not control themselves, and forget that they are also humans, they become ‘Rabid, and the Lieutenants are generally forced to devise a plan to ‘dispose’ of these dangerous creatures.
~Werelions, unlike actual lions, are monogamous. The picking of a mate is often determined by their other side, and done at a very young age (16-20). This is usually done because it prevent male werelions from getting out of hand.

I'm working on a profile for Lara's niece right now. She's...odd. I'm not sure if I'm actually going to use her.
Also, we still need an Alpha male and the two sons, so keep that in mind. I don't mind having male character that are not lieutenants or part of the Alpha's family, so if that's what you want, go ahead, but make sure to explain that in your bio or message me.

Y0u can look at Laramie's profile for more info. I'll probably be adding to it once we get the actual alpha spot in, since I had to make it kind of open-ended. I guess you could also get some character ideas from there, since Lara's got five living siblings and parents, or cousins or whatever.

I would be very interested in this RP, but I have one main question. Are there alternate forms, like a hybrid Lion/Man cross form, or is it just a human and a lion form? I just want to make sure.

This role play seems very interesting, and I wish I could join! Sadly I do not have Internet at home right now. :/ I'm at a family members house using my iPod to get on here and browse. Of course I don't know why since it only makes me want to join one and I clearly can't. Haha,
Anyway, I just thought I would drop a post to say this role play looks very cool, and I hope it goes far! :D Hopefully my Internet will be turned on sometime this week. :] I know you couldn't possibly save me a spot, but I was wondering that if my Internet is turned on Thursday or Friday if I can get some sort of character position? Preferably a female? :D
