Abilities
Ice Manipulation
"Ice is cold.. Heartless.. It doesn't care who it harms, simply that it harms someone."
Ice manipulations is like a double-edged sword. While May is able to use the presence of water to create and manipulate ice, when casting the ice magic, she cannot be interrupted. There's an interval of time during casting that the castor becomes vulnerable to outside attacks, and any attack that interrupts the ice magic will send the magic back to the castor, harming the castor herself rather than the target. The magic specifies that when it is started, it will harm someone and it did not matter who it is, and thus ice is hard to control, given its heartless nature.

Plant Manipulation
"I am of Winter, in my presence, death is inevitable."
To May, plant manipulation comes in a much different form: Death. While fairies are supposed to nurture nature, there comes a time when parts of it will need to die, and that's where May comes in. Born as a fairy of the season of death, she is able to bring death upon the plants but never life. With a simple touch, she is able to wither any forms of plant life in her presence. While she despises that ability, such processes are inevitable in nature.

Temperature Manipulation
"I want an eternal winter.."
May is able to control the temperature around her, usually within a ten feet radius. However, she usually likes the keep the temperature cool around her and thus, in her presence, there is always a certain chilliness in the air. When she's alone, her presence usually brings a sudden drop in temperature. However, since Summer does not like winter, in his presence, she usually keeps the temperature at a mild rate, halfway between warm and cold, but she usually cheats and lowers the temperature slightly below what Summer would be comfortable with.

Glamor
"My presence is calming. But do not be comfortable, for your greatest mistake would be to lower your defenses around me."
May cannot cast illusions but she is able to cast a certain level of glamor. Her presence usually brings a calm and collected atmosphere, much like her personality. Within her proximity, a person usually feels harmonious and serene, which causes them to lower their guards. However, lowering your guard or your alertness near a fairie is perhaps the worst mistake you could make. Around her, the person can be brought to believe anything she says or anything she does to play on their minds.

Weaknesses
True Name
There's a reason she is never called by her full name, but simply referred to as "May". It seemed very off, for May was not even close to the season of winter and thus many faeries were smart enough to figure out that "May" was not Maysilee's true name. If one possess the faerie's true name, they possess complete control over them, and control is not something May would want to give to anyone at all. The only person that knows her true name is her twin brother, who she gives full trust to.

Her Twin
She holds a very protective stance over her twin brother. Her cold nature as the winter faerie usually gives her an apathy for everything including others' feelings, thoughts or pain. However, she is extremely sensitive to her twin's feelings, the only person she's ever cared about. For him, she'll do anything, much similar to if a person possessed her real name.

Apathy
Like ice, she is apathetic and cold toward others, but holds a mischievous nature, making her the embodiment of the harbinger of evil. She holds no care nor sympathy toward others, which makes her even more dangerous to mess with for she does not have a limit to her actions nor will she ever stop simply because she sees pain in others. Many times, that gets her into trouble and makes her an enemy in the eyes of others. Perhaps the only person she has ever shown care to was her twin brother, who is usually there to keep her from overstepping her boundaries.

Size
Unlike her fraternal twin, she is much smaller and appears much younger than him. While that earns her agility and allows her to play the innocent-card, it often makes others underestimate her and even more to make the mistake of picking on her. Her small size also brings the lack of strength and thus prevents her from doing anything much more than mind games. Sports and such never came easily to her for her defining traits are grace and agility, which is why she chose ice skating next to any strength-required hobbies.

Stubbornness
May would never bow down to anyone nor yield her thoughts and opinions. Often enjoying mind games, she is very aware of the pain of having another play with your mind and thus keeps stubbornly to her own thoughts, never heeding the opinions of others that contradict against her own. Such prevents her from heeding good advice and helpful comments, which often leads her astray and into more trouble than she started with. Her pride is the main cause of this stubbornness and many often play on her pride to get what they want.

Fears
Her Twin Getting Hurt
The idea of her other half getting hurt turns up May's stomach. She cannot imagine her playful half getting into any trouble that can cause him physical harm, and of course, (Even though she'll never think about it), death. For such, she'll go through any means to protect him even if it meant losing everything of her own. Any physical damage done to her twin and she'll inflict it back mentally ten times more.

Fire
Fire has the ability to melt ice and she will not trust fire unless it's in the presence of her twin brother. Otherwise, she'll run in the opposite direction of where the flames come from. She has an unnaturally cool body temperature and anywhere with the presence of heat and fire creates an uncomfortable hold over her body, usually causing her to fidget and shift uncomfortably throughout the entire time.

Being Controlled
May absolutely despises the idea that if anyone gains a hold of her true name they gain control over her. Such is why she'll go through extreme means to make sure the person cannot get any clues to her true name. She is terrified of being controlled and thus deflects it by attempting to hold control over others through her little mind games and pranks.

Personality
Over-protective ll Playful ll Mischievous ll Calm ll Clever ll Manipulative ll Apathetic ll Cold
May is a paradox of personalities that all seem to fit together nicely to fit the winter faerie.

As a faerie, May holds the trait of playfulness and mischievousness, bound together by the mind games she plays on those that come to her. The twins hold something special that is different from other faeries' tricks of withholding the truth, however, for if one seeks for the whole truth, they must find not one but both of the twins, who often finishes each other's sentences. If they seek for information, they will never find the entire riddle from but one twin. However, even when one finds both twins and gets the completed riddle, it will still not be the entire truth, which more than often frustrates the person seeking the information. Such tricks of the mind delights both May and her twin Summer. However, this mischievous nature is perhaps the only trait in which May is similar to her twin brother.

As the winter faerie, unlike her curious twin, May has a calm and composed personality. May is rational, clever, and collected during situations of distress, often playing the mediator to her brother. Her presence is often comforting, for she holds the ability to cast glamor that calms the atmosphere around her, allowing her to manipulate easily through others' minds.

The most distinguished trait May holds would be the cold and apathetic personality that does not seem to fit well with a faerie. However, she can be as cold as ice and just as apathetic as well. Such makes her dangerous and often needs her to be put under the control of her brother for she holds no care to anyone but him and will harm and destroy just about anything to get her way. She has no care for others' feelings and holds no guilt over whatever she does, which often leads her into trouble where she pushes her tricks and pranks too far.

While she may be as apathetic as ice, the only person she has ever given a care for would be her twin brother Summer. For him, she would do just about anything to keep him out of harm's way. This over-protectiveness is shown only around him, which seems so paradoxical to her usual personality. However, her love for him will push her to attempt everything in her power to ensure his safety.

Biography
"I am the half born of ice."

"I don't remember the exact date, but in the bleak September, my twin brother and I were born in the town named Kalella, one a part of a much larger Fairy Kingdom. However, we were never really a part of the population. My brother and I were special, and when fairies see things they do not understand, they fear it and push it toward the edges of their little world. Thus, my brother and I truly only had ourselves."

"Why are we special, you ask? Well. Within the Faerie Kingdom, it was rare to have twin fairies, but Summer and I, we were something the faeries have never seen. A pair of fraternal twins, one born of winter and the other of summer. That's right. I'm a winter faerie while my brother is a summer faerie. Perhaps it was due to our parents being one of summer and one of winter, for faeries never do really bond with those outside of their seasons. And because of this, we were pushed away from others, whether due to simple dislike or fear. It didn't matter. We were complete with each other."

"When we were eight years old, our entire life fell apart. The humans stormed our town on the supposed idea that somehow we harm the ecosystem, when in fact we nurture it to its full health and blossom. But that didn't matter to them, and once we realize there was no more hope for our town, we fled, leaving behind our parents who never truly cared for us. For years, we wandered on our own, going through towns after towns, seeking for shelter. After two years, I never really sought for any place in which we could call "safe", since wherever my brother was, that was where home was. However, my brother has always been the curious one, and thus we never stopped moving, never stopped searching."

"Then.. Half a year ago, we found it."

"However, there is more to our history. If you seek what I believe you wish to see, search for my other half born of fire."

{ June 21st | 6:00pm | Teraton, North Carolina }

The Summer Solstice Festival has been a staple of the Teraton community far before it became set aside for the relocation process of the supernatural community in the area. Once simply referred to as the Summer Fair, it has now come to be called by a more appropriate name. It is most greatly celebrated by the witch community of the somewhat small town, and many run stalls or have special sales for the event. Lights are strung across buildings and trees to create a magical, picturesque atmosphere. The festival is something that most look forward to, and while it is not incredibly large, it is a dear part of the community.

It serves as many things. For the witch community, it is expected that young witches, coming of age, begin to create some product, or develop some skill for a service, which they will demonstrate here. The faerie community is also known to take special joy in the event, especially the summer fae, as a matter of course given that it is a summer holiday. Many people also take it as a romantic event, and the music [different bands or DJs on various corners] as well as the lights help this concept along. It also happens to line up to be just after the schools get out, so clusters of high schoolers, middle schoolers, and elementary schoolers can often be seen in various places.

The heart of summer... What a terrifying time of year.

The heat itself radiating from the scorching sun high above the sky is distracting in itself, for it required all May's strength and focus simply to keep the chilly atmosphere around her. "What is so terribly wrong about an eternal winter?" She mumbled as she stood by the window of their house, her eyes lingering on the sunlight that shined down with much force in the light of day. The blue dress resembling icy flower petals hung loose from her shoulders, her light blonde hair fixed with a simple clip, May looked just as she ever looked throughout the year. The cold didn't bother her, but the heat most definitely did.

"Summer," She turned her head from the window in which she has been staring at for the entire morning along with a part of the afternoon. Such inaction is not at all unfamiliar to May, who has always radiated a calm and serene mood wherever she walked-Even on the day of the Summer Solstice. "Summer?" Her voice rang throughout the little apartment the two twins lived in, her eyes adjusting to the sudden change in light from the window, looking for her other half.

Nothing. The silence was deafening, but it was not unexpected. It was her brother's time of year after all. With light footsteps, she twirled a piece of her hair in her hands, turning toward the door, her hand hesitating on the doorknob. However hot it is outside of the apartment, as long as she focused, the heat would not dare touch her skin. She closed her eyes, took a sharp breath as she pulled open the wooden door, the heat immediately blasting into the house she just cooled down. However, the gust of warm air split around her, avoiding her presence as it rushed into the door, her skin remaining the usual temperature, cool to touch.

May was never one for modern technology, and thus will resort to finding her other half through old-fashioned means. He wouldn't be hard to find, simply find the busiest faerie on the block. She rolled her eyes slightly at the thought, continuing her strides as she turned out the door. The festival was definitely not far from their apartment, seeing that they chose the location simply for the year-round festivals that goes on within the Teraton community. While each year, the faerie community takes much delight from solstices, the summer and winter faeries are often at each other's throats during their own solstice.

It didn't take more than five minutes for May to stare at the festive lights already up before her eyes, the colors of which were no doubt chosen by the faerie community themselves, extravagant to the eyes. "It needs something more, wouldn't you think so?" A familiar voice rang behind her ears as she turned to stare into the cool blue eyes of another winter faerie, Heath, but he was much taller and it strained May's neck to even look up at him. "It is not our time of the year to decide," Her voice responded in a chilly tone, much out of place within the cheerful atmosphere of the Summer Solstice. "Always the cold little faerie, aren't you, May." Heath continued on despite her tone, scrunching up her hair as he gave the top of her head a small rub. Her eyes narrowed slightly at the motion, reaching her hands up to swat away his. Her tiny size was always something for others to pick on. "Where's your brother? I'm sure he's having fun." Nearly the entire faerie community knew of the two twins of seemingly opposite everything. "Summer's in the heart of summer," A slight playful tone rang in her voice as she spoke the riddle. She said something but it was next to nothing, and Heath shook his head at her words, giving her a slight push on the back. "As I thought, it's useless asking you for information." And with a grin, the winter faerie was off, merging with the rest of the happy festival.

It does need something more, doesn't it..

May's eyes darted up to the lights, the temperature around her suddenly lowering to one that was determined by her brother to be very uncomfortable to the average being living in Teraton. The lights above her shone with a strange gleam before a thin layer of ice clouded over the bulb. The ice twisted slightly, morphing into tiny ice flower petals. Within seconds, the lights above her all shone with the strange icy gleam, the flower petals shone with bright colors.

Now that that was done. It was probably time for some mischievous doings of a typical faerie. But first, she must find her other half.

That morning, much earlier than it was currently, Somerald had burst out of bed with a large smile already plastered on his face. Laughing, he had punched the music player on the side of his bed to loud, blasting “I just can’t wait to be king” at the loudest volume, scattering the birds that had been sitting on his open window ledge. “Oh I just can’t wait to be king!” Summer sang, pulling his head through his bright orange shirt while fumbling his way towards his window. Looking down at himself and shrugging at his sweatpants, flip-flops, Somerald ruffled his hair and laughed again as birds came down to rest on his shoulders. “This day is the best day of all the days in the year!" he said with a booming voice, excitement dancing in his eyes. “The Summer Solstice!”

Shaking with excitement, Summer leapt out of his window, the birds chattering as they flew away again and followed him in the air. His laughter permeated throughout the whole alleyway in which Summer and May’s house was hidden in, currently covered with vines and flowers of the like. Pausing suddenly, Summer jogged his way back home and kicked the front door open- it was virtually almost always open until May noticed- and grabbed a piece of paper and pen, scrawling with his messy handwriting: Must be off to festival, will see you soon. Summer cast a look down at the note and nodded with satisfaction, peeping up at the closed door of his sister’s room, feeling waves of cold air from it. He didn’t want to wake up his sister- she needed her rest anyways.

Bounding out once more, Summer looked around as he rushed onto the main road and calmed down. Though his smile was still planted in place, he couldn’t help but feel a surge of dampening as he walked onto the street filled with people. Probably because he had spent so much time with May, he couldn’t help but feel a bit unsure around other people. His usual straightforward speech also transformed into something more so like his sister’s whenever he spoke in front of anyone besides May, and he really couldn’t do much about it. Some may call it PTSD, but the memories of the carnage of their last abode really didn’t haunt him much. Shaking his head, Summer sighed and grinned at the birds that had perched once more on his shoulders. “Shall we, then?”

Summer had gone almost everywhere; the fun and excitement had pulled him from one place to another. He constantly manipulated the emotions of those around him, making sure that they felt the sense of ecstatic happiness that coursed through his own veins. Summer couldn’t stop himself from laughing, as he flitted through the crowds, his physical presence unnoticed but his powers obviously noticeable. His fun came to a stop as he stopped to take a sip of water, throwing the change on the counter as he grabbed a bottle of water. Where is May
he thought, looking around at the people in front of him as he leaned against a wall, his sweaty back sticking to his shirt.

Summer? May’s voice filled his head. Summer paused what he was doing and dropped the bottle of water in his hand, a small smile forming on his face as he started a jog home. Summer? Summer chuckled a bit and decided to not reply- he wanted to see if he could scare May for once. He waved his hands, causing the birds on his shoulders to scatter. "I will find you all soon again!" He said to the birds that fluttered above his head, ignoring the glances that he got from the other supernaturals. "Distract May for me!" The birds twittered back in response and sped off, leaving Summer all alone.

He turned from the large street back onto the small alley that led to May and Summer’s apartment, ignoring the sudden cold that he plunged into. May... He sighed as he shivered, as he turned around as he sensed that his sister wasn't in their apartment. Casting one last cursory look at the house that was hidden by multiple trees, Summer shrugged and made his way off again, only to spot that his sister had been but a few steps away from himself. "May! Summer yelled, forgetting his earlier ploy to scare his sister.

The heat that entwined with the humidity was getting too hot to bear, for it sapped off of May's energy as the wave of cold air twirled around her, causing the goosebumps to rise on anyone that passed by her. In truth, she took delight in it, using it as her distraction as she searched for her other half. It amused her to no end to watch the slight shiver of those that get within her proximity or to watch the confused expression rise when one finds frost on the corner of their clothing.

It was unlike Summer to ignore her calls, but she would have to forgive him for the day. It is his day after all. With light movements, May pulled herself onto the brick ledge that surrounded the festival. Her legs dangled slightly as she cast her usual icy glance over the crowds that moved back and forth in front of her. Most took no notice of her small presence other than for the sudden rush of chilly air that swirled around her.

It was merely seconds before the sound of light chirps distracted her from her daze, and a mere turn of her head helped her recognize the intruders. "Shouldn't you guys be elsewhere?" The small birds that suddenly surrounded her simply glanced up at the winter faerie, as if unfazed by the cold temperature around her. That was even more unusual. The animals tended to stay away from her, not merely because of the constant coldness around her but because of her ability over deaths, which despite its inevitability was still a fright to those of nature.

"May!"The familiar sound immediately pulled her attention away from the strange birds that settled near her, that rare smile she never gives to anyone rose on the corner of her lips at the sight of her brother. So that's it.. The nearness of her brother would explain the strange actions of the birds. Summer must have attempted another of his pranks again. "Has the heat gotten to your brain or have you forgotten about me, Summer?" Her icy tone traveled to him while she remained seated in her spot, her eyes turning away from him to stare into the crowds again. She would never admit it, but the lack of his presence for the day was definitely filling her with a sense of emptiness rarely felt. In his presence, she immediately rose the temperature around her a few degrees higher, just out of pure courtesy to her brother's season, although she always kept it a few degrees below the temperature he was comfortable with. Even if the summer faerie was her other half, she was not about to bear with the heat that comes with it.

As her eyes scanned the festival, a particular sight caught a hold of her attention, her hand beckoning her twin to come forward. The light sounds of items spilling toward the ground was barely audible through the loud chaotic sounds of the festival, but the items caught her eye. She recognized some of them to be voodoo dolls, the plant to be lavender. A witch. She didn't care much for the girl struggling to place the broken items back inside her box, but mere curiosity kept her gaze on the witch along with her booth. "Won't you help her?" The question was meant for her brother, for she felt nothing for the girl in front of her but her twin has always been the more caring one.

If he does help her, there'll always be time to play with the witch afterwards. That mischievous look rose on her expression soon afterwards, hopping off of the ledge she had been sitting on. The air around her seemed calming and harmonious much different from the chaotic atmosphere of the Summer Solstice, despite the coldness of the temperature. The sounds in a circle around her died down softly with her presence, the chaos soothing ever so slightly. But then again, dropping their guards around a faerie is the worst decision anyone can make.

“Has the heat gotten to your brain or have you forgotten about me, Summer?” Guilt filled Summer as he came to a stop from running towards his sister, his hand falling to his side as he had been waving at May’s direction. Not bothering to grumble a response, Summer turned away, a slight pout on his face. It’s not like intentionally decided to ignore you
he thought, crossing his arms across his chest. Don’t act as if you don’t forget about me during the Winter Solstice, too! Unintentionally, Summer started to radiate more heat, causing the birds that were around him to twitter and flap their wings, one pecking him on the head as the temperature around Summer reached 40 Celsius.

However, Summer was distracted from his anger as he saw a young witch drop all of her wares on the ground, the same time May noticed the witch as well, their two heads turning in unison to watch the witch. “Won’t you help her?” May asked, getting up from her ledge as Summer jumped down to stand beside her. Summer raised an eyebrow and continued to stare at the witch on the ground, though his curiosity was piqued. “I thought it wasn’t the nature of Winter Faeries to care about the wellbeing of others?” he said, grinning slightly while a mirroring mischievous glint appeared in his eyes. Summer hugged his sister with one arm, shivering slightly as he felt how cold her skin was- before walking off towards the witch, a now more sincere grin plastered on his face. Notching down the temperature around himself and waving his hand to dispel the birds around him, Summer came to a stop near the mess of wares on the ground. Stooping, Summer grabbed a few items and stopped, looking at the witch on the ground.

“Need some help?” Summer asked, his voice filled with concern as he placed whatever he had picked up- he didn’t look- into the box and turned to face the witch. Up close, Summer saw that the witch wasn't actually near his age, as he had thought while beside his sister. The one word Summer could think of to describe the witch in front of him was queer. He couldn't gauge much from her, and he was lost in terms of what he and his twin should do with the witch. Now
what shall we do with this poor soul? He asked his sister, glancing up at the Winter Faerie before looking down again. “It is very nice to meet you
miss?” Summer laughed slightly before sitting down on the floor, a look of pure curiosity on his face. “May I ask for your name?” He picked up a ware and twirled it around in his hands a bit. A faerie never turned down entertainment- and Summer was going to enjoy this one, especially, with his sister.

The wind blew through Nadia's long brown hair, making knots and tangles. She pushed it out of her face and squinted up at the boy who started to help her clean up the bits of clay and crystals scattered on the ground. In the distance a blonde girl was watching. They both had the same mocking twinkle in their eyes. Nadia smiled “I’m Nadia” she said. She picked up clumps of moss and sage and brushed off the soil from her hands. She looked down and realized that she cut her palm on a shard of broken crystal. She pressed her hand to the hem of her dress and watched the dusty white turn to red. “Thank you for helping me” she said. “And your name is?”

Hot. Summer. Hot.

May transmitted the mental frustration toward her twin, having to wince at the heat that radiated around her other half, taking a few steps to the left as to avoid the waves of heat that her brother was unconsciously summoning. It's not like I intentionally decided to ignore you... Don't act as if you don't forget about me during the Winter Solstice, too! As always, her brother did not even bother keeping his thoughts away from her, his voice loud and clear in her mind. Are you angry at me again... Even her thoughts reflected that icy tone, but even so, she cared for what Summer thought of her, perhaps the only person whose opinions mattered to her. As if the summer solstice wasn't hot enough already. Then again, this happened far too often for May's amusement, the two twins fighting for control of the temperature in the small area around them.

"I thought it wasn’t the nature of Winter Faeries to care about the well-being of others?” As she thought, her brother wasn't difficult to distract, and just like that, their mini argument ended, forgotten. However, she did not have to respond to her brother for him to know exactly what that mischievous smile on her face which mirrored his meant, for it was in the nature of faeries to hide daggers behind their smiles. At the touch of his skin, she immediately pulled away, his skin scorching hot compared to hers. It was amazing how different the two were, and even more amazing how well they worked together.

"Need some help?" May could already see her twin work his magic, the type that makes others comfortable in his presence through the appearance of kindness, where as she could only manage with glamor. She lowered herself onto the ground, crouching slightly to watch her twin pick up the witch's items. Voodoo dolls... She was definitely taking an interest in the creepy dolls that were being placed into the box the witch held. Now... what shall we do with this poor soul? Even through her brother's playful thoughts, the sense of alarm was rising in her mind at the sight of the witch. She could also feel the sense her brother was getting from the woman in front of them, simply... Queer. "I'm Nadia." Perhaps the only part normal about the witch was her voice. Careful, Summer... Witches with voodoo magic are dangerous. She transmitted the warning toward her brother as her eyes lowered toward the hem of the dress in the woman's hand, the red blossoming on the dusty white fabric. "Thank you for helping me. And your name is?" May barely even heard her question toward her brother, the overwhelming need to cause mischief distracted her mind, pushing down the alarm that came with the presence of the witch in front of them.

"You look like you need some ice with that." And of course, that mischievousness of hers took over. With a gentle tap of her feet, the temperature of the air around her dropped to an alarming degree, requiring all of her focus. It definitely took much out of her to cast ice magic in summer solstice, and she knew her limits. The ground underneath her frosted over, a strange sight to see in the middle of summer. The ice crawled its way toward the witch in front of them, climbing up the woman's feet, finding its way toward her hand. What say you to running just about now, Summer? Even such thoughts at times such as this sounded calm and cold coming from May's mind. Now that the need of mischievousness was fulfilled, she would leave the rest to her brother. However, with her actions against a witch, one that plays with voodoos dolls at that, she was not having too good of a feeling about this.

With a few light steps, she walked forward, her hand reaching out to grab her brother's, the icy coldness so strange against the scorching warmth of his.

Summer smiled slightly as the witch gave her name after he asked, her eyes squinted as she looked at him. “I’m Nadia.” She said, watching Summer as he resumed picking up the random articles on the ground, including herbs, voodoo dolls, of the like. Careful, Summer
Witches with voodoo magic are dangerous. Summer snorted slightly, trying to make sure he didn’t roll his eyes as he cast a quick look at his sibling standing not far behind him. We’re faeries- we’re siblings. Could anybody defeat the Holy Duo of the Morris twins? Turning back to focus on Nadia, Summer fixed a smile on his face again as she started to probe about his background. “Thank you for helping me. And your name is?”

A flash of slight irritation went through Summer before he quenched it, laughter bursting out of his lips as he looked at the witch kindly. Why is it that my friendly aura isn’t affecting her
have the witches found a way to overcome the ancient magic of the Fae? Improbable. Slowly, his eyes travelled over the witch’s face before settling on her bleeding hand, the once grey dress now dyed with a dark red. Opening and closing his mouth, an amused look on Summer’s face, he dragged his eyes to look once again at Nadia. Did she actually believe Summer would give his actual name, just as she might have out of habit? It was foolish to think so- but then again, that was the way of non-Fae organisms. He didn’t trust her- and even if ‘Summer’ wasn’t his real name- nor was ‘Somerald’- he couldn’t trust this witch with his alias, either. Something seemed off with this particular witch- even Somerald could sense it- even compared to others of her race. “My name is J-“

Just as Summer opened his mouth, May suddenly stepped forward. He felt her suppress her rising worry and concern, and felt a surge in mischievousness from May’s side of their connection. Right, prank. Somerald berated himself as May said, “You look like you need some ice with that.” Knowing what May was planning, Somerald braced himself as the temperature around the three suddenly plummeted, dropping till the ground froze and the air became frosty. The ice climbed from the ground around May’s foot onto Nadia’s feet and hands, covering up the bleeding wound on the witch’s hand. What say you to running just about now, Summer? Shivering slightly, his teeth chattering, Summer pretended to ignore his sister as he mentally signaled for her to move back.

“Sorry, I have to apologize for my sister. She loves to prank others, using her winter faerie abilities to freeze everything and anything.” He grinned warmly, as he started letting out wave after wave of heat as he concentrated on creating a fire. This will take some time
Looking at the ice on Nadia, Summer pointed a finger at her and said, “I’ll get that rid of in a second, wait.” A fire suddenly sputtered into existence right in front of Summer’s pointing finger, as the heat waves around the summer faerie suddenly increased in magnitude, the ice May had created vanishing almost immediately. Except, the fire appeared on nothing other than Nadia’s dress. Success. Getting up, a horrified look on Summer’s face, he turned and ran, yelling over his shoulder as he laughed uproaresly inside, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to do that!” The fire spread gradually, but Summer didn’t know to what extent. The next second, he was running past his twin, his laugh tinkling in the air as excitement filled his eyes. When you want to do something at least warn me! He said, pouting slightly, though he pout disappeared as fast as it had appeared. A childish happiness filled Somerald as he grabbed his sister's hand, linking their fingers together as they zipped through the town.

The air temperature dropped quickly and a layer of ice crawled up Nadia's flesh and covered her hand. The ice began to melt and cold drops of water snaked down her legs. She sucked in her breath. "I am a witch because I know how to heal myself" she said to the small blonde girl, yanking her hand away. "I’ll get that rid of in a second, wait.” said Summer. The hem of her dress turned black and burst into flames. Nadia shrieked as the tender skin below her ribcage began to burn. She took her jacket and suffocated the fire on her body. She put it on and zipped it over her tattered dress now beginning to fall apart. She hoisted the heavy box up into her arms, balanced it on her hip and began to quickly walk to her car.

Hot. Hot. Hot.

Adding the energy expended in running with her brother into the heat that radiated from Summer’s hand, all combined with the heat of the summer day, May was already at the brink of her toleration for the heat. When you want to do something at least warn me! She could hear her brother pushing the thought toward her, her laughter ringing like droplets of ice shards throughout the town as the two zipped past the crowds. To tell the truth, she did not hold an ounce of guilt for the prank the twins have just pulled. However, she never did feel much guilt, her icy nature not allowing her to feel for anyone except her other half, who worked perfectly with her on their little game with the witch.

“I think we have just played a very dangerous game, Summer,” Even though it was a dangerous game, playing with a witch of voodoo magic, her voice did not hold a hint of fear, simply amusement.

Without much of a warning, she let go of her brother’s hand after catching sight of one of the booths on the side. A few murmurs, an exchange of currency and a weird glance from the booth’s owner later, May returned to her brother’s side, now with a small white umbrella. Strange, to say the least, for even the owner she was speaking to gave her a questioning glance when she asked for the umbrella, but to her, it was necessary. However, she held it as if it was common spectacle, opening the umbrella and raising it above her head, the umbrella casting a shadow over her small body despite the already setting sun. Much better. Although she did not exactly want to make her twin feel bad by showing her discomfort to the heat he enjoys so much, the feeling of unease was still apparent, especially after the umbrella practically rubbed her dislike for his season in his face.

A single whistle broke through the air and her head turned with annoyance at the sudden disturbance in the already chaotic environment she was not taking much amusement in. She no longer had a sense of where the two of them have wandered to, but simply keeping him within her proximity gave her a sense of comfort. However, her annoyance eased to simple curiosity the second she saw who the whistle was directed at, the two groups on the side included people she knew disliked her with passion, especially that spring faerie she held a unknown grudge against. I've found a new target. Her icy gaze flickered with mischievousness, her hand tugged slightly at the corner of Summer’s sleeves.

The already chilly air around her dropped significantly in temperature as she felt people passing by giving the girl with the umbrella a wary glance. The ground underneath her feet frosted slightly at the sudden drop in temperature. However, her eyes were focused on something else, the teddy bear that stood in the faerie’s hands. "You want a warning, Summer? It's about to get very cold.." Her icy voice broke through the chaotic sounds that roamed the festival and within seconds, spikes of ice grew on the bear, morphing it slightly away from the cute appearance it held, frozen horns and a devil’s tail grew onto its body.

“It looks so much better that way doesn’t it?” She whispered to her twin, that smile forming on the corner of her lips.

After enjoying the festival, some danced all night, some went home [alone or with another], etc. A few witches stayed behind to make quick work of clean help, though they did receive help from some volunteers. Now, it is afternoon of the next day, 12pm. As it is summertime, few people have classes, unless they are taking summer courses of course, but some do have jobs, appointments, etc. Some are dealing with hangovers, headaches, and morning afters, while for others it is simply just another morning to wake up to. All of this depends, of course, on the individual character.

Common Places to Find People At This Time:

Summer twiddled his thumbs as he sat on the hot sand of the beach. His eyes sped from side to side as people walked past the two twins sitting on the beach, both so similar yet so different at the same time. Unconsciously, Summer raised the temperature around himself as boredom started to seep into his mind. He wanted fun- but the two twins had agreed that they should take a break after Nadia. This did not help Summer's mood at all. "Hey, May. I am bored." Summer mumbled, a slight frown on his face as he grabbed a fist of sand and tossed it away.

A soft puff of air escaped her lips as she sat on the warm sand, burning to her touch. If it weren't for Summer, she would have rather left the world in an eternal winter, but... We can't all get what we want. The cold air radiated around her, cooling down her temperature as the warm sea breeze blew around them. This was definitely a rare moment of peace for the twins. "You're the one that burned her," May said this without a hint of guilt, as if she took no part within the little prank the twins did on the voodoo witch. Her eyes flitted toward the sand her brother tossed aside, a smile forming on her lips at his impatience. "Hey!" Summer pouted slightly, looking at his sister. "It was your idea as well! Do not push all the blame on me, May!" He also smiled slightly, countering the sudden flush of cold air that surrounded the two. Stop that, May! You know I don't like the cold. He continued to raise the temperature slightly, his eyes taunting his sister to counter his heat.

Her eyes narrowed in the face of the challenge, a small mischievous look forming in her eyes. "Was not." Her voice signalled the end of the argument, but she didn't back down from his challenge. Her small hands tightened suddenly as the heat triggered her annoyance, her icy gaze turning to him. Though the cold bothers you Summer... That grin returned to her lips at the thought, "The cold never bothered me anyways." And with that, frost began expanding under her dress, covering the sand as the temperature lowered to an all-time-low.

Summer shivered as the cold air crawled up his bare torso, though he had prepared earlier for the onslaught he knew May would unleash against his heat. "You are right, May- the cold has constantly been a bother for me!" He returned his attention once more to raising the temperature around him and his sister- as opposed to shivering and trying to warm himself up- until it was sweltering hot around the two. His grin was once again back in place as he got up and sped away from his sister, wincing as the sand burned on the soles of his feet, and into the broad blue ocean that crashed against shore. "Summer!" It is not often that you hear May yell, but her high voice rang throughout the beach like the shards of ice. Without a hint of hesitation, she raced after her brother, the blue dress fluttering behind her as beads of perspiration formed on her forehead at the sweltering heat that seemed to taunt her just like her brother.

Her feet entered the water that was warm to her touch. A wave of her hand and the beads of water from the sea splattered onto the sand. However, before they managed to land, the water beads immediately morphed water vapor, then to crystallized beads of ice. Another wave of her hand, and the freezing crystals were aimed straight for her brother's chest. Summer couldn't help but laugh as he turned around, his eyes wild with glee as he stared at his sister. "Oh, come on, May." He joked, coddling her as he unintentionally manipulated her feelings, bolstering happiness within his twin sister. "It was a joke!" Though the shards of ice directed towards his chest looked deadly, there was no sense of danger within Summer's heart. He knew that May would not harm him- not even if he did the worst thing on Earth. But then again, he thought, grinning at May, You would just help me carry out any diabolical plan, wouldn't you? As Summer continued laughing and splashing around in the water, his eyes turned to focus on a figure in the distance, laying in the sand. He stopped moving, and the smile that was on his face turned from innocent to devious. May- Skye.

The Spring Faerie? Again? May's eyes flitted toward the figure to her right, her eyebrows cocked slightly at her brother's suggestion. "You know my response to that, Summer." It was as if she had forgotten all about the pitiable argument the two were just having, a wave of happiness attempting to penetrate her cold facade. Nevertheless, that mischievous look returned to her eyes as the shards of ice also turned its course, now pointing at the spring faerie. Perhaps it was that their seasons collided, but May definitely hated Skye with a passion. The shards of ice glistened under the sun, the heat of the summer having no effect on the frozen pieces. How would you like her? Cryogenically frozen or ready-to-defrost? Summer chuckled as he held out a hand to block May from walking towards Sky. You had your turn last time- my turn this time. Raising his hands to his mouth, Summer let out a high-pitched whistle, surveying the sky above the two twins.

Birds suddenly burst out of the tree canopy around the village; seagulls circling the beach flew towards Summer, squawking loudly as more joined in the large mass of birds. I think this will be a rather nice addition to our gallery of 'Pranks On Skye', don't you think? With another sharp whistle, a comparably large seagull flew down and landed on Summer's outstretched hand, it's eyes glimmering with a sort of understanding gleam. "See that lady over there?" Summer whispered at the seagull as he stroked it's head feathers, a dark gloom over his smiling face. "I will command you..." The rest of what Summer said was lost to the sound of crashing waves and fluttering wings. However, it was obvious that the seagull understood what Summer wanted; the faerie nodded at the seagull as it squawked back, unfurling it's wings and taking once more into the sky. Summer watched as it circled in the sky, squawking at the other gathered birds as if giving them orders, before the seagull suddenly banked and flew straight and fast towards Skye, the rest of the brood following it in a clear, single-line formation.

As the birds arrived above Skye, the dark look on Summer's face lifted to reveal an extremely devious grin. He turned to look at May just as he heard the first splatter hit the floor. "It's really convenient how birds can release their bowels on command. Appreciate my personal bird battalion, May?"His words earned him a smack on the head as May shook her head at her brother. "Run, you idiot!" Perhaps they've gone a little too far this time, but even so, a hint of amusement was entwined within her voice as she pushed her brother on the back, the water splashing under their feet. What did I do wrong to have a brother like you? Her thoughts did not hold any hints of bitterness as her hand reached for Summer's. Summer rustled his hair with one hand as he grabbed onto May's cold hand with his other hand, laughter rippling through his chest and into the air as they ran fast away from the pungent smell that started to rise from the beach where he had ordered the birds to fly towards. Do not try to delude yourself, May. I was the best brother you could have ever gotten- and you are the best sister I could have ever gotten. He grinned as he sent the words to May, his voice ringing loud and clear in their minds as it melded with the sound of waves breaking on to the beach, and as loud as the rustle of wings that slowly receded from their ears.

It was the squawking of an army of birds that first roused Skye. She had been half asleep on the sand, her mind drifting between day dreams when the screeching began. At first she thought it was that one seagull returning to frustrate her, but the chorus of birds indicated a much larger number. Skye's eyes opened to see a large number of birds flying down the beach towards the water. No, not the water. Skye's eyes locked on a pair of familiar faces, May and Summer. Hadn't she heard that Summer could control animals when around his sister? As her eyes darted from the birds surrounding the twins to the Summer faerie, she could well believe it.

The birds took to the air again. Even before they had, Skye had known that they would be targeting. She watched with a bemused smile as the army of seagulls turned in the air and headed straight for her. An unnatural line formed behind the seagull that had been perched on Summer's arm, even more reason to suspect their foul play. Well, two could play at this game. Summer might have been able to control animals while around his sister, but Skye could do so just fine on her own. Pushing herself into a sitting position Skye thrust her mind towards the birds. She instantly understood what Summer had asked them to do. With an angry shove of thoughts, the birds, rather than releasing their bowels on Skye, let loose just short. A waterfall of bird shit fell from the small army of seagulls, painting the sand in a green and white mosaic. With a huff of distaste one dropping spattered slightly too close to Skye, resulting in some of the mess sprinkling onto her arm. She gave her hand a violent shake, throwing the shit off before it could stick.

Having mainly safely avoided being covered in bird faeces, Skye cast her eyes down the beach to the escaping backs of the twins. With another thrust of her powers she sent the seagulls back to their nests, she wouldn't be needing them for what she had planned for the twins. It only took one second for her to create and cast the illusion. She didn't even have to be particularly close to the twins for it to work. In front of the running pair, appeared a fully formed, perfect replica of herself. Skye's illusions were far superior to other faeries' illusions. She could fool not just a person's sight, but their other senses as well. If one of the twins reached out and touched the illusion-Skye, they would appear to feel a real person. Not that she planned on letting them touch her. "Oh dear, your little trick appears to have failed." Illusion-Skye said in a perfect imitation of Skye's own voice. "Perhaps I will show you how a prank is supposed to work." The illusion added. At the end of her words a wall appeared around the twins, towering over their heads. Of course, the other residents enjoying the beach couldn't see the wall. It would only be too perfect if the twins made a fool of themselves while trying to escape, but Skye wasn't willing to set her hopes on that. She let the Skye-illusion vanish and instead made the walls surrounding the twins solidify. Yes, they were still illusions, but given that she could manipulate all the senses, they would appear very real to the twins.

Noah had only just pulled himself onto his board, his legs hanging either side of the board in the water, when a friendly face appeared. He probably should have assumed that the Selkie would be out hitting the waves in weather like this. He returned her grin with a nod of his head and a small smile. "One of these days, you're just going to paddle around in a circle or something with that one hand deal." She commented. Noah frowned slightly, before realising that she was referring to his method of swimming. He shrugged, the smile returning to his face,
"To each their own." He replied. In truth he would paddle with both hands when he was in deeper water, but before actually jumping onto his board he preferred the one handed approach. It probably would have been easier to simply get on his board from the start but, well, he hadn't.

With the flash of a smile Mel seemed to indicate to Noah the approach of a good wave. Noah trusted the Selkie's instincts when it came to the water, really who wouldn't? He mirrored her moves, laying down on his board and beginning to paddle with both hands. Soon enough he felt the coming wave beginning to drag him back and lift him up. Another smile erupted on his face as he pushed himself onto his knees and then, in one fluid motion, onto his feet. Making sure to keep his distance from Mel, Noah steered his board across the wave. With the flick of a foot and the twist of his body he turned the board around, riding momentarily back up the wave.

Happy is not something that people often associate with Noah Talon. The demon rarely smiles, but at that moment, with a surf board beneath his feet and the sun beating down on his back, Noah couldn't have been happier. Seeing an opportunity for further fun, Noah took it. Bending down so that his hand was trailing just above the water, Noah pushed his board to the tip of the wave and then beyond, attempting to get some air as he hit the crest. Although he was going fast enough, as his board left the wave's surface, he realised that he had miscalculated. He tried to adjust himself, but he was already mid air now and ended up over-adjusting. With a startled cry Noah and his board hit the water at the wrong angle. A mouthful of water was his reward, not to mention being spun around like a sock in a drying machine.

Eventually he was able to push his way to the surface and grab hold of his board. Wiping sea water out of his eyes and pushing his hair back, Noah couldn't help but crack a smile. As frustrating as it was crashing, Noah couldn't say that he was particularly disheartened or angry. As he pushed himself back onto his board he glanced back out to sea, already scanning the waters for another wave to try again on. He cast a quick look back over his shoulder, hoping that Mel would return. The Selkie was rather good at predicting which waves would be good or not, and, surprisingly, he found that he actually enjoyed her company.
