Merida Elizabeth Dunbroch

This girl is on fire!

0 · 205 views · located in Modern Times, set in Burgess

a character in “Rise of Our Heroes”, as played by Candescence3753

Description

Name: Merida Elizabeth Dunbroch
Alias (Superhero Name) : The Phoenix
Powers: Pyrokinesis (the ability to control fire, and create it), and phoenix wings (flight)
Weaknesses: Any hallucinogen drugs, water, ice, her need of oxygen, and her own power (RPO)

Personality: Merida is a very brave, bold, daring, courageous, stubborn, rebellious and headstrong girl who does not fit the stereotypical girly-girl role. Rather than being a damsel in distress who is subservient to the customs, traditions, and social restrictions her parents place on her and expect her to follow, Merida openly rebels and defies her heritage as a rich girl and would like for nothing more than to be a normal one. She is very athletic and enjoys nothing more than riding her horse Angus and practicing her archery, as well as running and other athletics.

History: Born as an heiress into a Scottish-founded business, Merida was supposed to grow up as a stereotypical young woman, who would have an arranged marriage for the business to grow. However that completely changed as Merida grew up, mostly in Scotland with her family. One day, the young girl's fate completely changed when they visited America, to visit her father's sister Freya, who was truly a superhero. When Freya died on a mission, Merida inherited the Phoenix's spirit and became the next super in the family. This disturbed her family, especially her mother when Merida began setting things on fire uncontrollably. The gift could not be taken back, unless upon the brink of death, so the family hid her powers and waited until the day she could handle being on her own. Constantly fighting her family, Merida grew up in spite and hatred for her powers, and her family. Once she was sixteen, her parents went back to Scotland with her brothers, and left Merida alone in their American home. She loved living on her own, and did do some crime-fighting as a vigilante, but it never was enough. Her fate changed once again when she met an alien, and is now housing her, and while she acts mean, she is rather glad to have some company.

Physical Description: Merida does everything to keep one life from interfering with the other, her secret identity must be safe after all. As a "normal girl", Merida tames her hair with a straightener, to make it just wavy when she is in public. Her thick accent from visiting Scotland still remains, which is why she carries a voice transmitter when she does her "hero runs". Her eyes are constantly an icy blue, which seems strange for a fire-controller. Once she becomes her "hero self" her flame-colored locks go back to their normal, wild ringlets and her accent of course, is concealed. Merida is about average in height and weight, and tends to lean on the more boy-ish side of the wardrobe.
