Agoraphobia is an anxiety disorder characterized by anxiety in situations where the sufferer perceives certain environments as dangerous or uncomfortable, often due to the environment's vast openness or crowdedness. These situations include, but are not limited to, wide-open spaces, as well as uncontrollable social situations such as the possibility of being met in shopping malls, airports, and on bridges. Odette isn't afraid of walking out her front door, nor will she have a panic attack in the middle of her office. However, if she's at the mall for too long on a crowded day she'll get anxious and start to feel a little sick.

Odette is an eccentric, yet friendly and kind-hearted young woman who enjoys playing online games, specifically MMORPGs, and reading books. She's your classic nerd who spent most of her childhood cuddled up by the fire with her collection of Sherlock Holmes. Over time she developed a particular skill set with computer science and hacking. She has said that she can run U.S. Central Command from her office whilst also playing Skyrim. She is extremely protective of her computers, especially her personal laptop. Intruding in her cubicle and 'getting handsy' with her things will earn you a smack to the back of the head. While Odette is often a woman of few words, she does enjoy joking around with people they know fairly well—often making offhand remarks and witty retorts. Direct, honest, and down-to-earth, she typically prefers to skip a lot of theoretical analysis or future predictions in favor of getting right to the bottom line and the relevant facts and figures. She is a realist, able to capitalize well on available resources, which makes her practical with a good sense of timing. She has an innate understanding of how mechanical things work and is very skilled at using tools, such as computer databases and the internet. Though ostentatious and vivacious, Odette tends to make logical and private decisions, stating things clearly and directly, just as she sees them.

Odette was raised in a small, nameless town in Canada where French was the first language and hockey was sometimes more important than life itself. Now, the name Odette seems a little odd, don't you think? Well blame her mother for that, Robert Hawthorne would say. Ellen had been on a fairy tale kick the month before Odette was born, which ultimately led to the little girl's name. Her mother's obsession with books and stories was a high contributing factor to Odette's own obsession with literature. When little Odie was growing up, her father worked at a lumber mill and often went hunting, carting little Odette along whether she wanted to or not. Many girls her age would've been deterred by 'killing Bambi' but Bobby was pleased to see that in her case it was the opposite. Statistically deer were overpopulated. In Odette's mind she was helping the species thrive by killing off a couple of doe and a buck or two. One for the sake of many, she reminded him, and he couldn't have been more proud. When her little sister Johanna was born, the two girls were as thick as thieves. Jo was more of the girly girl type Ellen could fawn over while Odie was more interested in going out into the woods and reading while her father did errands. That is until one day she wandered off and got lost in the woods for a night when she was eight. She was found the next morning but it traumatized her enough for her to never go back. Because of her grades, she earned a hefty scholarship to Caltech where she earned a Master's degree in Computer Sciene. A feat, I might add, that she completed within three years. Shortly after she got her job with the Milano family, her sister began attending Cal State. They decided to get an apartment together closer to where Odie worked and Jo went to school. Other than the unseemly rumors floating around the office, Odette couldn't be happier about her life at the moment. She's content with it, to say the least.
