More Than Skin Deep~
What I've Lived Through // Tanya grew up every bit a royal, being taught and preened and primped for her royal duties. Her parents ruled before her and her father ruled with an iron fist, prompting her to do the same. She grew up with a few friends, mostly the servants’ children, or her distant cousins. Tanya was always cut off from the rest of the kingdom, she read about it, studied it, and visited it, but always with a distinct line drawn between the two. As she grew older, she was tossed into the game of politics. It was difficult to play at first, as politics came with the concept: sink or swim, but Tanya struggled through the first few years of it and mastered the game. The kingdom is prosperous and flourishing under her reign, but dark secrets lie under them, and it is her job to either wipe out that dark world, turn a blind eye to it, or join in the deadly gamble of life and death.
I Act Like // Tanya may come off as cold and impersonal, but she isn’t truly cut off from others. She does have feelings, though she rarely lets them influence how she runs the kingdom and is seen as blunt and direct in both personality and speech. When she speaks to others, she is usually cordial and polite, much as a diplomat should be, though her tolerance level is quite short and she doesn’t like misbehavior or nonsense. Tanya knows what she wants and usually does nearly whatever it takes to get it. She can be cold and manipulative, and isn’t afraid to use people. Being raised the way she was, Tanya doesn’t like mingling with those she considers “lower” than her, like commoners. She is proud, not haughty, though it may seem so, and commands respect in most situations. She isn’t evil, but is simply a very good player, cold, calculating, and driven. Tanya is intelligent, not overly so, but enough to be confident about her decisions and the way she plans things. She rarely lets loose and is often seen with a stoic or thoughtful expression, though her servants may tell you otherwise when she is alone at times. She does have a softer side, though it rarely shows.
Relationship-wise // You can try... Tanya is cold, and any marriage she may accept has strings attached; it must be for the good of the kingdom or have some benefit to her. Very rarely will she fall in love though many may try, especially for the power that comes with it; for Tanya, love is for the weak.
Acceptable or Not~
Favorites //
-power/control; Tanya is a bit OCD this way-she isn’t overbearing, but will worry if she feels her seat is being threatened
-independence; she’s hard pressed to love or marry, unless it is beneficial for the kingdom or her in any way
-socialization; hence the parties and masquerades-being a royal is hard, and Tanya likes having friends (or at least, who she thinks are friends) and being able to mingle with others, though she won’t stand for meeting with commoners.
Despicable Things //
-the high expectations; Tanya doesn’t mind being the ruler, though she sometimes wishes that everyone wouldn’t rely on her so much.
-groveling/saccharine people; Tanya accepts compliments, but despises syrupy flattery, seeing it as a sign of weakness
-being told what to do; maybe it’s the snobby, royal part of her, but Tanya hates being corrected. She’s open to advise, but for some reason, it always leaves a sting on her ego.
Flaws // haughtiness, occasional narrow-mindedness, dismissive attitude
Talents/Skills // manipulation, intelligence, pretending/lying/faking (eh.. I don’t know what you call it... XD )
Goals/Aspirations // Tanya aims for the best for her kingdom, much like any other ruler. It comes with a twist, though. She must remain and retain the power. Most of it, if not all. She isn’t dictator-like, but aspires to be the strongest ruler in Amariss. The power and wealth would be unimaginable for her.
