He prefers to wear no armor for he feels it slows him down, and if he does wear it he wears small bits of it that he can hide under his armor and keep his speed in battle. other than his clothes and sack, He owns a Daisho (samurai sword pair) He wears them on his right hip for he is left handed. The Katana's name is Susaku, the Burning Phoenix, and the Wakizashi is named Shenlong, the Flaming Dragon. he rarely wields the smaller sword, though he will in dire cases.
Andoru was raised by his father and mother. His father was a samurai retainer to the emperor, though he was wounded protecting the emperor during a great battle. In return the emperor granted him a town to rule over, to which his father settled down and became a grand sword smith. Though one day the town was invaded by mighty ogres. Andoru's father was a no match for the might of the ogres and Andoru along with the town was enslaved/ Andoru's father was ordered to make swords for the ogres, who had captured a Phoenix and with there magic prevented it from dying, and thus from resurrecting. They used the Phoenix's eternal fire to forge blades of perfect quality and sharpness. but as Andoru's father worked on the sword's day and night he watched the phoenix suffer more and more. one night his father sneaked over to the magical cage to which the phoenix was trapped. "The phoenix spoke to him and they made a deal. He phoenix instructed his father to take a feather and some ash from the cage and use it to forge two swords. the swords would contain the essence of the phoenix itself. His father forged the swords. and as he made the last polish of the blade the swords ignited in flames. His father then took the swords and attacked the ogres. they could not fight against the power of Andoru's father and the swords, and in the end they retreated. after wards he released the phoenix. Andoru remembered this for his life and when he had become of age his father taught him the sword smith arts and gave him the two swords, to which named Burning Phoenix and Flaming Dragon. the Phoenix spirit remained inside the swords and as Andoru grew to learn the samurai arts he learned from the spirit as well. After his father died Andoru left the town in the care of his family and headed out into the world. He now wanders seeking his place in the world.
