William Conrad Jackson

A former soldier, mercenary, and police officer that is now a Task Force Bounty Hunter

0 · 392 views · located in Noyerville

a character in “Schatten”, as played by True_Grave

Description

Name: William Conrad Jackson

Gender: Male

Age: 62

Appearance: neck-length brown hair, brown eyes, and a thin yet muscular build.

Public Standing: Task Force Bounty Hunter

Items: Car keys and other regular items.

Weapons: Will does not like guns, so he relies solely on knives. He carries a black military combat knife sharp enough to cut clean through a bear skull, but fine enough to shave a man's face, which is what he uses as his main weapon. He also carries several hidden throwing knives, though he has retired the explosive and poisonous throwing knives.

Skills/Abilities: William is a black belt in five martial arts: Karate, Aikido, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, and Taekwondo, as well as being a master of unarmed military combat. He is also good with patching wounds on short supplies, such as sewing his own stitches and burning wounds shut. In addition to this, he is a master of using the environment to his advantage. In the jungles of Venezuela, he was known to hang people with vines and smother them with leaves. In the urban jungle, he was known to put faces to walls and use unconventional items as weapons, if need be. His greatest weapon is his mind, which is always strategizing ways to deal with enemies, no matter how outside the box he may have to think.

History: Born to parents that left him at the hospital, he was taken in by an adopted family and raised in foster care. His surrogate family tried their best to raise him as a son, but Will just never felt any connection with them. After graduating high school, he signed up with the Army and went to Texas for Basic Training. There, he excelled and graduated to the rank of Private three months before the rest of his class. From there, he joined Platoon B-12 under Captain Yancy Morris. This was where he encountered his first problem.

From an early age, Will despised guns, as he thought that they were weapons a coward uses to fight. In thinking so, he broke his standard-issue M16 over his knee, earning him a demerit for abuse of military equipment. Following this, he was also given a second demerit for disobeying a direct order to receive a new M16 from the armory. These two demerits alone should have gotten him dismissed, but thanks to his superb skill in military techniques, as displayed in Basic Training, he was given a pardon and warned that one more demerit would mean a dismissal. They allowed him to train using only knives and from there, Will flourished once more, impressing his Captain and earning him the respect of many of his fellow soldiers. Within five years, Will was promoted several times, reaching the rank of Sergeant Major.

After doing his job admirably, Will was promoted again to the rank of Second Lieutenant, and put in charge of his own platoon. Having all ready garnered the respect of both the soldiers and his fellow officers, Will adjusted to the role with ease. His platoon completed many high-profile assignments, including stopping a Tuareg uprising in Libya that tested his platoon's skill and Jackson's leadership skills to the fullest. After several more assignments that proved Jackson's reliability as an officer, he was given his third category jumping promotion into the rank of Brigadier General. Within two years, he was promoted to General, where he once again excelled to near superhuman levels. Mystified by this ambitious and talented officer, the Brass recommended that he be promoted into the ranks of a Special Forces unit, known as the Green Berets, where he could serve his country as a true combat veteran instead of being bogged down by politics.

After being transferred into the Green Berets, he joined the 7th Special Forces Group under Special Forces Officer Leslie Tiller, who gave him no slack despite his incredible military record. Given his rank in the regular Army, Will was automatically made an SFO, and he served with his usual superhuman skill and determination. Within a year after his successful counter-terrorist operation that captured Osama Bin Laden in Afghanistan, the Brass decided to promote him one more category and make him a member of the Black Berets, a secret Special Forces Unit created from the best of the best in the US Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and other Special Forces Units, including the Army Rangers. There, Will proved that he was exceptional, even among the exceptional, wielding a variety of impressive skills and achieving the rank of Captain of the Black Berets, the highest SFU rank in the US Army. Will led his team against terrorists, dictators, and even foreign generals with nuclear weapons, winning every time without ever using a single firearm. However, even though he was only a request away from becoming General of the Armies, Will had begun to grow bored with military life.

During his time in the Black Berets, Will found out that his thirst for blood ran far deeper than his military career would allow him to satiate. Feeling restricted, he asked the Brass to grant him an honorable discharge. They begged him not to leave, even offering to make him a General of the Army right there. But Will was resolute, and received his discharge. From there, he decided to follow the path of the mercenary. Of course, now he just needed to know who was in the market for one.

He achieved this thanks to a buddy in the Intelligence division. Will left the country for Japan with the stolen file, and the US military decided not to pursue, knowing all too well how dangerous Will truly was, especially now that he had gone freelance. He approached the Japanese government, who were skeptical about his intentions. They made Will prove that he was really out of the US military by asking him to attack a US base and bringing them the head of the General stationed there. Will did so, and the Japanese gave him a job, giving him a Chinese nickname, Fang-Wu, and sending him to Venezuela to soften up the government. It was not long before Will found a fight.

Will discovered a tribe called the Motilone Bari, which was trying to defend its land from the current regime. Having respect for these weapons, Will supported their cause and aided them in their fight. Forests and villages fell in the fierce fighting, but the tribe never gave up on preserving their heritage. Will was finally able to kill the corrupt dictator of Venezuela, and was hailed as a hero of the Motilone Bari. Their dedication to a single cause reminded Will of how he used to feel about the Army, and this realization caused him to feel that the way of the mercenary was not for him. After collecting his paycheck from the Japanese, he left the mercenary life behind and returned to the United States as a retired veteran.

Will got a job as a FedEx deliveryman. On one delivery to a corporation, terrorists stormed the building and took people hostage like something out of Die Hard. Will was in the CEO's office and had time to crawl into an air vent before the CEO was captured. With nothing but a box cutter, Will separated and killed all of the terrorists except for their leader. In a final climatic showdown in the lobby, Will defeated the leader of the terrorists in unarmed combat, sparing his life only because the police burst in before he could kill him. Will was hailed as a hero, and received a special commendation from the city of Los Angeles.

Investigative reporter Christy Sutherland tried to interview William following the incident, but could not reach him. When she finally did reach him, it took a great deal of effort to get the story out of him. In the end, she got her story and convinced Will to do something more with his life. He applied to the Police Academy, who were tripping over themselves to accept him after reviewing his military record. After graduation, Will quickly moved up the ranks by showing the same skill and tenacity that he had shown as a soldier. When he made Detective, he began chasing down a notorious serial killer who called himself "The Playwright", a name he earned by writing Shakespearean soliloquies on the crime scene walls in the victim's own blood.

When Will finally did catch up to The Playwright, the man was revealed to be Adam Moss, a former Marine who had a psychotic case of PTSD following his discharge from the military. Adam had seen many grisly sights in Afghanistan and Iraq, and that had twisted his psyche into The Playwright. Will fought a hard battle against Moss, but ultimately came out on top. For his capture of the most notorious serial killer in LA history, he was promoted to Chief of Detectives. After running a Detective Bureau as effectively as a platoon, he was promoted to Chief of Police. After five years on the job, he was promoted to Deputy Commissioner.

Will served the LAPD very well, and he ultimately made Commissioner. After a few more years on the job, he retired and was looking to settle down with his new wife, investigative reporter Christy Jackson. However, when strange events started happening in Noyerville, William came out of retirement and joined the Predator Company, which had need of people like him. Will was looking to solve these grisly murders like he had solved The Playwright case. But strange things are happening, and even Will is starting to wonder. Is the criminal running loose in Noyerville a man...or a monster?

Extra stuff: Christy is currently pregnant with the couple's first child, and Will looks forward to wrapping up the case in time to see his child born.

So begins...
