Who are you?: Unknowingly, the bastard son of King Charles Godwin; heir to Riverrun
Who do you pledge yourself to?: Robert Claridge
Age: 17
Personality: Aedan is a quiet, but wary young man with a cynical demeanor of a much older person. He believes that there are few decent people worth befriending or following, but is loyal to those few to the end. He dislikes stupidity and unfairness, though he must live with the fact that these two traits are in abundance, and he hates being talked down to. He doesn't think much of people who take more than what they deserve or need and despises oathbreakers, mostly due to his upbringing. He will keep his word once he makes a promise, even if he regrets it or does it unwillingly. Despite a cynical and often argumentative exterior, Aedan has a kind heart, though he mostly shows this to animals or younger children. He loves the wild and hunting and will often volunteer to be a scout.
Where are you from?: Riverrun
Appearance: Aedan is a bit lanky, quick and strong for a teenager his age. He tends to dress in brown leather armor, on or off duty, and had untamed blonde hair and green eyes. Often, he has a bit of a frown on his face, but there are rare times when he does smile. He may never be bulky, but he is lean and dexterous for his age.
History: Aedan's mother, Cisila, was a serving woman in Riverrun and, though she was of common birth, she attracted the attention of King Robert Godwin. It was a short affair and Ciscila knew that she had little say in the matter, but to her surprise and dismay, she was pregnant at the end. She confronted the king, but he merely laughed at her and sent her away. Angrily, she stole away into the treasury that very night, taking the first thing she saw, a bow. Knowing that her sister had married a hunter, she traveled to their home near the city walls and presented them with the bow. In exchange for caring for her and her child, she'd give them this heirloom. The Hunter, Arem, and her sister, Rebekah, agreed, amazed at the generous gift she offered them, but not daring to ask her where she got it. Unfortunately for Aedan, his mother died in childbirth and he was left in the care of his Aunt and Uncle who raised him as their own son as they had no children of their own. Arem locked the bow away in a chest and ten years passed before giving it to Aedan for his birthday, not knowing the mistake that would cost them their lives.
Ten years later, the Queen learned of her husband's affair and, more importantly, the bow. The King wasn't worried, for he boasted that the bow had belonged to his grandfather and had been enchanted so that no one outside his bloodline could pull back the string. He claimed that he didn't believe that the servant woman was really pregnant or, if she was, not with his child, but the Queen feared that this bow combined with a bastard could usurp her children. She sent out her own agents and, from among the commoners, learned of a boy with royal-looking bow that would respond only to his touch. They found Aedan and his Aunt and Uncle just as he and his Uncle were taking turns trying to pull back the string. Before his eyes, Aedan's only family was slaughtered before him, but before they could get him, he took the bow and ran. He was pursued, but the queen's men did not know the forest like he did and he lost them. For three weeks, he survived on his own, hunting small animals, skinning, gutting, and cooking them to survive until, at last, members of the Direwolf clan found him. He told them his story, but left out the part about them being interested in the bow. Since then, he has joined the Clan and kept dirt rubbed into the wood of the bow, instinctively hiding its beauty and the strange mark on it, the emblem of a lion.
Extra information: He is mainly a ranged fighter, fighting with his bow and two knives he was given.
