Introduction
Bayville, the perfect image of a large city. People rushing around, nigh clubs thriving and chalk full of all the sins of the city. Blueridge, the image of a small town with out the hustle and bustle of the big city. Both have one thing in common, the interesting people that live there, and the interesting secrets they keep. A long river separates the city from the town, the two stay connected by the bridge that crosses the water.

"You don't have to live a life of danger or trouble to be interesting, Tony." Maya said. "So, why business. Why not law school or....culinary school or something else?" She prodded, cursing her own curiosity. He fascinated her with his quietness. He was mysterious, and she liked that.

Despite her shopping plans, Inu ended up propping open the back door to The Dagger, sitting on the staircase and arguing with the bank about a loan she had paid off, but they insisted she hadn't. She took a drag from her cigarette and snarled,
"Look, that loan was taken out years ago. I paid it off with in the first two years. How can you tell me that 25,000 dollars just doesn't show up in your records?!"
"Miss. Sunico, I'm sorry, but we have no record of you ever paying that loan."
"And you're just now telling me this, three years later? What the hell?!"
"Miss. Sunico I'm going to put this very simply for you. Either you pay us the money you owe us, or the bank will foreclose on your club." The sickly calm voice of the woman on the other end had Inu grinding her teeth. "We expect payment by the end of the month. Have a good day."
"Don't you dar--" The line went dead. "Son of a bitch!" She screamed, throwing her phone to the ground.

"I don't know. I've always liked... dealing, making profit." He shook his head. "My dad owned a business once. It dealt with stocks and stuff. I guess I grew up wanting to be him," he shrugged. "See? Nothing too special."

He stepped out of the shower, droplets of water hitting the floor. He got dressed in a suit, shaved, and brushed his teeth. By the end, he didn't even look like Cameron Hills.

Maya shook her head with a smile and pushed open the door to a small diner. The air smelled heavily of coffee and toast. A young waitress, a year or two younger than Maya was, smiled at them as they entered.
"Hi there! Just the two of you today? Right this way." The girl led Tony and Maya to a booth against the window, left menus and walked away, assuring them that their server would be with them shortly.
"I always liked this place." Maya murmured. "Kind of reminds me of home...back in Texas."

Cam hopped into his midnight blue escort and backed up out of the driveway. He kept thinking of his dream. It wasn't good that he was remembering it again. He had to stuff it deep inside him. It would mess him up tonight and he needed his sanity tonight. He needed to be a killer tonight.

Maya couldn't help but laugh out loud. When she finally got a hold of her self, she shook her head. "Not all the time. The cowboy hats...well...only on the ranches. Some people wore them all the time, I wasn't one of them. As for the rodeo's, I preferred to go to swim meets and soccer games. I was never one for rodeo clowns." She leaned her elbows on the table, resting her chin in her hands. "It was nice down there. We lived in the middle of the grasslands on a cattle ranch...so I guess you could say I'm a bonafied cowgirl. I have the boots to prove it." She began to tell stories of her childhood, of all the summers she spent riding her horse through the grass and rounding up cattle with her parents, and all the summer nights she spent star gazing. She had told these stories a thousand times, but she never got tired of telling them.
Tony listened intently of another life. It was a beautiful life and he had no problem believing it belonged to Maya. He could see it in her eyes, the longing she had for the place. "It sounds... like a completely other world. I wish I could see it sometime."

He pulled up to a large building, maybe 30 floors high. Or larger even. He parked his car and made his way into the building. The elevator ride to the 15th floor seemed never ending and he wasn't surprised to see Savaya with her arms crossed over her chest as she sit in her office. "You're late."
"Yeah..." Cam trailed off, but said nothing.
"What's wrong?" She stood from her seat behind her desk and stepped towards him. She rested a hand on his shoulder.
"Nothing. You called me here early. Why?"

He pulled up to a large building, maybe 30 floors high. Or larger even. He parked his car and made his way into the building. The elevator ride to the 15th floor seemed never ending and he wasn't surprised to see Savaya with her arms crossed over her chest as she sit in her office. "You're late."
"Yeah..." Cam trailed off, but said nothing.
"What's wrong?" She stood from her seat behind her desk and stepped towards him. She rested a hand on his shoulder.
"Nothing. You called me here early. Why?"
"Maybe I'll take you down there one day. It's beautiful and all...but I wouldn't trade what I have here." Out of no where, their waitress appeared to take their orders. "I'll just have the club sandwich." Maya said with a smile.
"Uh... and I'll just have a burger, medium rare." His brown eyes found Maya's. "What's so special here?" He asked

"I loved my life in Taxes, don't get me wrong but as I got older I just needed to get away from it. I'm not sure why but I couldn't stand living there anymore. Besides, after I got here and went through all the things I did...it toughened me up. I grew up, grew stronger and gained friends that I don't think I could have survived without." She paused. "I guess I wouldn't trade it because everyday is a learning experience, even now. I'm learning things I couldn't have learned back home."
Tony smiled at that. "I wish I could have broke lose like that. I held onto my parents for as long as they let me." He laughed. "I got really homesick when I went off to college."
"I was homesick too. Especially my first few months here, I'm pretty sure homesick is an understatement for those times though." She smiled but her smile vanished as her phone vibrated in her pocket. She pulled the phone out. "Seth..." She muttered under her breath. "I'm sorry. I gotta take this. I'll be right back though." She slid out of her seat and hurried away to answer her phone.
Tony watched out the window as he waited for Maya to return. The food came and he hesitated. who was Seth?
She returned a couple minutes later, tucking her phone away and shaking her head. She sat down. "Sorry about that."
"Yeah, yeah. Everything is fine." She smiled, although this one was a bit forced. He's been drinking again... She thought, taking a bite of her food. Idiot...
"Well, that's good," Tony said with a smile, taking a bite of his burger. Wait... I just ordered one of these yesterday. She's going to think I'm a pig that only eats burgers... "I should have gotten the soup," Tony added.
"I like a lot of things about this place...their soup isn't one of them." She wrinkled her nose. "It's very bland..."
Maya laughed and finished her sandwich. Out of habit, she checked her phone and noticed she had over ten missed calls in that short amount of time. Frowning she said, "I'm afraid we may have to cut this date a little short. I'm needed at home..." She sighed.
Tony stood from his seat after fingering his the money in his wallet. He placed money for the lunch along with a nice tip down on the table. "I'll walk you back," he smiled.
Maya nodded. "Alright." She agreed. The trip home was quick and Maya was silent for the entire walk. When they arrived outside her apartment building, she smiled. "Sorry I couldn't give you that tour..." She said with an apologetic shrug of her shoulders.
"That's alright," Tony sighed looking around and then resting his eyes on hers. "Maybe some other time. I hope everything turns out alright. Let me know?"
Maya nodded. "Sure thing." She turned quickly and hurried into the apartments. She felt horrible for leaving so suddenly but some things were more important.

The glass bottle crashed to the floor and Inu cursed, peering over the bar at the shattered remains of the empty Jack Daniels bottle. "Damn it." She mumbled, resting her swimming head against the cool bar.

Charlie Beckette was supposedly on the 3rd floor of Sunico Suites. Cam made his way along the damp streets, a feeling of relief following over him at the sight of the sign. His navigation skills have ceased to amaze him yet. He would be in apartment 21, meaning that he could set up in the building across from it. Savaya had gotten him access to a room above a restaurant where a sniper rifle was even awaiting him in the room.
He bobbed his head toward the owner and walked up the stairs until he found room B3. Turning the knob was torture, the screeches made him put a hand to his ear. Stepping into the room, it was like looking upon a creepy hotel movie. The room was well set up, but old.
In the corner of the room was a large case where his sniper was safely stored. Cam stepped up to it, opening it to reveal a black beauty of a weapon. Cam took it out and began the assembly. This took roughly 15 minutes. He perched it at the window where there was a clear shot into the kitchen window of Charlie's apartment. He waited several moments.
He saw a shadow on the wall of the apartment and he knew that Charlie was finally home. He readied himself and watched through the kitchen window. The person that came into view, wasn't Charlie Beckette. It was a woman. She had curly blonde hair tied back. "Wha?" He was about to call Savaya when a thought struck him. He flipped through Charlies file that he had kept with him. The file wasn't for a Charlie Beckette, it was for a Charlotte Beckette. The person he was to kill wasn't a man, but a woman. He looked back through the sniper and saw that she was doing the dishes. He swallowed deeply, memories flooding in, memories he wished he couldn't remember; memories he knew he'd never forget. Her Sundays were always long because they were the only days she could take off in the week and there never seemed like there was enough hours in the day to get everything done. She closed the book-A worn copy of "Pride and Prejudice"- and set it on the stand beside her. She closed her eyes and leaned back in her chair, curling up like a cat.
