Tim Greni

You've got to be kidding me.

0 · 410 views · located in Shelter Lodge

a character in “Shelter Lodge”, as played by Izzyvamp

Description

Name: Timothy Greni "You all can call me Tim, and by 'you can', I mean if you call me by my full name I'll kill you"
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Physical Description: Image
Job/Career: "Who needs a job?" He doesn't really 'believe' in working. Something about too much power to the government. Instead, he does work around this apartment building, and in return is allowed to stay there for free. In one of the smallest apartments, though.

Personality: Tim has very strong opinions. He hates following a crowd, he hates rules, and he thinks the government is too restricting. He can be a fun nice guy, if you're on his good side. Get on his bad side, and you should watch yourself. Also, advice: don't insult his way of living.
Though he's threatened to kill people, it usually sounds like an empty threat. He would, and has, however, beaten people to the point of hospitalization. This gives him sort of a bad reputation, and that itself makes him mad because no one bothers to realize why he did what he did. Basically, don't upset him and he's okay, but piss him off and he's a jerk. Sometimes a violent one.
Hobbies:
Belongings: Pocket knife, iPod, and hair dye (red and blue, in case he gets bored of green while he's there).
Relationships: Doesn't think he knows anyone else

So begins...

Tim
Tim waited as the shuttle drove them to the resort, bored out of his mind. This usually wasn't the kind of thing he did, but it was paid for, so he thought, why not? Could be fun? So far not. The drive seemed painfully long, and some guy couldn't stop fidgeting with strap of his bag. That was one among many things Tim couldn't stand. Fidgeting.

Another thing annoying him, as they got closer and lower, he noticed that the reception on his phone was getting worse and worse. By the time they got there, he knew there'd be none. If they didn't have phones that worked at the resort, Tim would freak out.

Tim tried to shut his eyes and sleep, to make time pass faster. However, by the time he was almost claimed by sleep, the car stopped. Fuck my life, he thought, immediately getting out of the shuttle after the fidgetter. It was cold, but Tim didn't mind. The cold was nice. Going inside, there was a girl and guy already there, and the fidgetter introduced himself as Miles and asked if this was "the place". Tim looked at him like he was stupid. Duh, he thought, before looking away from the barbie of a girl to the guy. "Where we staying?" he asked, wanting to get rid of his bag.

Smiling as wide as was humanly possible, Carla stood behind the front desk waving excitedly at each guest as they entered. "Welcome to the Shelter Lodge.", she announced to the first couple guests that made their way towards her.

The first guest, a young man that had a devious look about him, approached her with a question. She loudly replied, "Of course this is the place! Make yourself at home, everything is brand new, and ready to be tried out by you, our very first group of guests!" As she was saying this, she noticed the second guest looked to be a bit annoyed. Isn't this something, he gets a free vacation and stands here with such discontent!, she thought to herself as she moved over to the computer.

With the giant smile still plastered on her face, she looked up at the first guest, "If I could just get your last name and driver's license so I can verify your identity and get you your room information."

John lingered in the room long enough to see the first guests arrive. He didn't quite like the looks of them. To, him they seemed too young, and young people were always up to no good. He shrugged and walked out of the room. He still had some last minute things to do. Most important of all, he needed to get the phones up and working. Especially since this area seemed to be devoid of any cell phone signal. He made his way to the generator room to see if the problem could possibly be originating from it. This, he doubted, but it was worth looking into because he had found no other source for the problem, and the last thing the needed on opening day was for the guests to get their panties in a knot over the phones not working.

✧Miles✧

Miles dropped his duffel bag on the floor which made a loud thump. Then he grabbed his wallet from his back pocket and pulled his license out quickly. He positioned his ID so it sat between his pointer and middle finger while he rested his elbow on the front desk.

"Um Miles Gap. G-A-P," as if anyone could mess up spelling Gap, "and here's my license."

He held out his hand closer to Carla so she would be able to grab his license with ease.

He turned towards Tim for the first time since they'd arrived and he quickly took in all of his features. Just from that quick glance, Miles could tell that him and Tim would probably not be getting along. They seemed to be complete opposites.

Tim looked dark and intimidating while Miles was chill and, well, the whole package.

Miles looked back at Carla and waited for his room information.

Tim
Tim actually snickered when the guy, Miles, spelled his last name for her. Then, looking at the woman, he thought maybe she would need it spelled out. After all, by her appearance, it seemed she couldn't read the tags on her clothes or notice that they didn't fit. Shaking his head, Tim walked over to the desk and took out his drivers license. He held it up for her, but if she wanted a closer look she would certainly have to reach a bit. Or a lot. Tim could tell there was a slightly cold out look on him already, so he chose not to speak.
With any luck I won't have to for now. You know, unless she can't read, he thought, smirking a bit. Though no one but him knew why he was smirking, unless they read minds.
Glancing at Miles, he noticed the "I'm cool you're not expression", making his smirk grow. These were the other people at the resort. It was almost laughable. As long as Miles didn't get in his way or annoy him, he was fine with him, but he could tell he was one of those arrogant guys. Not that he himself wasn't arrogant. He was, and he would state it openly if someone asked. No shame in thinking, no, knowing, you're better than everyone else in the room, right?

Her fingers moved quickly over the keyboard as she typed his name in. She deftly took his license, looked it over, typed more information, and hit print. Still smiling she handed the license back, "Thank you Mr. Gap." With a whir, the printer produced a document covered in small print with the words "Terms and Conditions" at the top. "Please read over and sign this to certify you understand the terms and conditions of your trial stay here at the Shelter Lodge.", she indicated as she handed him the paper.

While he signed she went over to the drawer that contained the room keys. She selected the appropriate one and returned to her spot at the computer. She took the signed document from Miles, and handed him his room key," Thank you, sir. Your room number is 103. You can go get settled, in an hour you can meet back here in the lobby, and I will be giving a tour of the facility. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to come back to the front desk, and I will be happy to assist you. "

She avoided mentioning the phone situation, hoping that John would have the problem fixed before anyone tried to use them.

With the first guest taken care of, she looked towards the next guest. He still had a look of discontent on his face, this annoyed Carla as she could not understand what could have made him so unhappy in the short while that he had been there. She addressed him extra cheerfully," Hello, sir, and welcome to the Shelter Lodge!"..

Tim
Tim watched the girl hand Miles a paper to be signed, and her give him a room key. When she turned to him, he simply shoved the license more directly in her face. "Tim Greni. G-R-E-N-I," he said, smirking at the Miles guy as he spelled out his last name in sort of a mocking fashion. He normally wouldn't spell out his name, but he did this time just because it felt... appropriate.

"Thanks, can you tell me where I'm staying now," Tim said, hoping she got the message that he would not do any socializing till his stuff was unpacked, or at the very least in his room. Then, maybe he'd actually want to talk to some people. He was sure they couldn't be too bad. But if they were, he was sure he could convince them to leave him alone. He was good at convincing.

After she had looked at his license, he pulled it back and put it away not letting her touch it. He didn't want her touching his stuff, even if it was just a plastic card.

"Thank you, Mr Greni." Carla replied cheerfully as she went through the same procedure as before. She handed him the document, "Please read over and sign this to acknowledge that you understand the terms and conditions of your stay here at Shelter Lodge." She recited this as quickly as possible, while she moved to retrieve his room key. He seemed in such a hurry to get settled in his room that she skipped some of her speech to speed the process. "Thank you, sir. Your room number is 105. Make yourself at home, and please join us on our tour in an hours time." She widened her smile as she handed him the key.

For a moment as he walked away, she made an ugly face after him. I just don't understand the nerve of that guy, what has he got to be so gloomy about? I sure do hope he lightens up, or he will surely ruin the mood of the whole weekend for everyone.

Her face contorted back into a smile as she awaited the next guest.

✧Miles✧

"Thanks Carla," he smiled his signature smile, grabbed his bag, and exited the Lobby.

Miles walked down the hallway slowly, looking for the room 103.

"There it is," he said quietly to himself as he approached the second room on the left. He put the small key into the doorknob and entered his room. It was pitch black until he felt around the wall and flicked a switch. A single light in the middle of the ceiling flickered on, revealing an old fashioned theme.

The bed was made with a multi-colored quilt and above the bed was a mantel that displayed huge deer antlers. On the left side of the bed stood a night stand that held a light and an alarm clock. On the right side of the bed was the same display but, instead of an alarm clock, there was a phone.

There was another door on the left wall which Miles assumed was an adjoining room to room 101.

Besides the bathroom on the right side, there wasn't anything else in the room. Only a window which was covered by tan blinds.

So they built a brand new resort just to make it look old fashioned. Genius.

Miles threw his bag onto the floor and belly flopped onto his bed.

At least the bed is comfortable.

And with that he pulled his iPhone out of his pocket and started to play Temple Run.

Xander followed in behind the guy with the mohawk. He thought the dude was a poser, but he wouldn't say that out loud though. Confrantation was not his thing. He just doesn't do it. He hated drama in general. He ran his hands in his hair and and adjusted his shoulder strap. His duffel bag was getting heavy. He dropped his bag and rotated his shoulder. He sighed and waited for his turn at the counter.

He took a quick assessment of the people who have entered the lobby so far. First was Miles, seemed nice. That's how you look at all people when you first see them. He never trusted his first impressions of people. Then was Carla, again seems nice but, also a bit slow witted. Last was the guy with the Mohawk, hard to read. Xander didn't let his eyes wander on people for too long. He didn't want to seem like was staring. He wanted to seem he was taking in the surroundings. He needed a cigarette. He hasn't had one since he got on the shuttle.

He was so distracted by his surroundings he didn't realise he was next in line. He stepped up and smiled at the girl, "Name and ID right?" He reached in his pocket and pulled out his State ID and said, "Alexander Coltman, C-o-l-t-m-a-n." He wanted to say his nickname but, it's not important.

Athylia awoke to the sound of the shuttle stopping, she looked around at her surroundings and saw mostly trees and snow. She didn't mind getting away from the city for a while. Hopefully it would help her clear her mind. She waited for some others to get off the bus first, then she slowly stood up and made her way off the bus. When she walked in it seemed that one man was already making his way to his room, but she over herd the second man say his name "Tim" she said softly to her self. Then the third man walked up and said his name also. "Alexander" Athylia smiled that was a nice name, it was pretty almost like a girls name.

She walked up to the counter and smiled at the girl named Carla, she slid her ID to her and looked at the boy that was next to her. She smiled gently and stuck out her hand "Hi, I'm Athylia nice to meet you." She didn't want to come of to creepy but she wanted to make friends on the trip and not be a anti social monster.

She looked at the boys appearance, he seemed sort of like a trouble maker. He seemed not to nig to be in sports but he seemed tough enough to beat someone up. Athylia didn't want to get on his bad side either way so it seemed like a good idea to become friends with him.

Nara
Nara watched wide eyed as the driver drove away, leaving them. Looking at the building in front of her, she decided it must be the place. Otherwise, she was screwed. Smiling a bit, she walked inside with her small bag. There was a woman behind a desk inside, who seemed overly happy, talking to a girl. Winny. That's what she said her name was. Looking around, Nara smiled more. It looked like a nice place. Nara reached into her pocket to text her friend, but remembered she had left her phone behind. She didn't want to be bothered on a free vacation.
Slowly, she approached the desk and pulled out a notepad from her back back, then a pen from her pocket. She wrote in messy handwriting, Nara Shillia, and held it up to the woman at the desk. Her hair looked bleach and she was wearing a lot of makeup, but she looked kind, Nara decided. After holding up the notepad she pulled out her ID and gave it to the woman, smiling softly.

Tim
Tim found his room and went inside, dropping off his stuff. Looking around the room, he decided it was nicer than he was staying back home. He wasn't sure if that was good, or bad, however. Shrugging, he turned and walked out of the room, not bothering to lock the door behind him. If someone stole stuff from him, he'd kick their ass, so he wasn't too concerned. Though, knowing how people saw him back where he lived, it was likely people wouldn't take him seriously at first.
At that thought, Tim smirked before deciding to go search for other people. His phone still wasn't working, and he wanted to know if there was some problem or if they really just wouldn't work. Or if there was some way to call people. He didn't have much reason to call any friends he had, but if this place turned out to be really cool he might want to tell them at some point.

Tim
Tim decided to follow the sound of the people. He was supposed to go on some tour thing anyways. He had taken his ipod in favor of his phone, since the phone was useless so far in this place. Putting in one earphone, he put it on shuffle and began to walk back to the lobby. On the way there, he saw a girl. She was looking at another one by the counter with a strange expression, which Tim decided to classify as nervousness. Looking in between the two, he shrugged and walked past her to the lobby.

The sight in the lobby however, caused him to smirk. Some guy was on the floor by a short haired girl, two blondes were at the door and the Miles guy was practically drooling over them. There was redhead who wasn't saying anything and was looking around with mild interest. There were a few others as well. So, these are the people I'm stuck here with? he thought, looking around at everyone. It wasn't too bad, actually, he decided.

The others in the lobby watched Laurie and Miles disappear upstairs.

"I guess they'll be missing the tour..." someone muttered.

Carla did a quick once-over of all the rooms. "Richmond, 101. Coltman, 02. Gap, 03. Collins, 04, Greni, 05, Otto, 06, Shillia, 07, Maxxwel, 08 and 10, Lefeber, 111." There was one missing. Barbara Phillips, room 109. Carla scanned the room. She could have sworn she'd seen a blonde-haired woman around earlier. But this was all the guests, minus the two that were already going on upstairs.

"All right, everyone, since we're all here we might as well get the tour started a little early. If you'd all gather around."

Snoring with his arms spread over the table in the staff room, John had fallen asleep after just a couple sips of his coffee. Suddenly he jumped awake, knocking his chair back slightly, and almost toppled onto the floor. His heart was pounding, and he was covered in sweat. Man that was some dream., he thought as he stretched and sat back in his chair, allowing the details of the dream to slowly dissipate until he could only vaguely recall that it involved a murder of some sort. Reaching for his coffee, he cursed noticing that he had managed to spill it during his nap. He cursed again when he noticed that his shirt had soaked up a good amount of the coffee, leaving a rather large brown stain on the left sleeve of his shirt. He go up to grab some paper towel, when his eyes fell on the clock that hung on the wall. His heart almost stopped, Oh shoot the tour!. Carla had made quite certain that he knew to attend the tour of the facilities. Her desire was to introduce all the guests to the employees to make them feel more at home, and willing to provide feedback on their stay. Forgetting the spill, and the stain, he took off down the hall towards the lobby. I hope she hasn't started yet, she'll never let me hear the end of it if I am late!

He arrived through the door located behind the front desk just as Carla was saying," All right, everyone, since we're all here we might as well get the tour started a little early. If you'd all gather around."

"Phew!", he panted as wiped the sweat from his forehead, and tried to calm his breathing down to normal.

Carla turned her husband, her smile quickly turning to a look of annoyance, and whispered severely," You dolt! Causing all this commotion, you're lucky the guests are here or I'd have your arse!" She then turned back to the guests displaying her phony smile, "I would first like to introduce you to the staff of this Shelter Lodge. Firstly, there is me. I am Carla, and I run the front end of the Shelter Lodge. Next, there is John, my husband, who is the mechanic responsible for fixing anything that breaks.", at the mention of his name, John, attempted to smile at the crowd of guests, but gave up and just lifted his hand and gave a small wave, "Feel free to take up any questions or concerns with either of us. Now let us begin the tour!"

Carla walked out from behind the front desk, and stood in front of the large fireplace. John trailed behind her, and stood a few feet to the left of her. Carla spread her arms out wide, proudly announcing, "Now this, as you all may know, is the lobby. From here you can easily make it to every other part of this resort. This is a place where you can rest, hang out, and call upon me to resolve any issues you may have. Any questions?"

Nara
Nara waved a short hello to the girl who said hi to her and Lacey, but her attention was quickly changed to the tour when it was announced it was starting early. Since they were all there, Nara didn't mind. She did notice however, that Lacey had slipped away. Her sister and Miles was missing too. Nara frowned slightly, thinking it was useless to go after someone who bullied you, but shrugged it off. They were sisters. Besides, Nara could right out a brief over of the tour and a map for Lacey if she missed the tour. Nara was usually good with those kind of things.

Nara looked over at a man who just arrived, probably working with Carla. Then, Carla began to talk about who they were. The man, apparently was John. A mechanic. "Now let us begin the tour!"
Nara smiled a bit, some what excited to get on with the tour. Carla came out in front of a fireplace, and began to introduce the lobby. Nara couldn't pay much attention though, she kept glancing around for any sign of the twins or Miles. They really might miss the tour.

Tim
Tim joined the crowd who was listening to Carla introduce herself and John, and then start the tour with the lobby. Tim had to resist rolling his eyes, since he knew that they ALL knew this was the lobby. Really, could people be that dumb to not figure that one out on their own?
Shaking his head, Tim stuck his hands in his pockets to wait for the tour to move on. Though he found explaining the lobby silly, he did want to see the rest of the resort. It seemed like an over all cool place. Even if the only people he'd really heard speak so far were a bit off.

Carla froze for a moment when Xander asked where the rest of the staff was. "Well..um..", she stammered as she tried to think of a good excuse. "You see, this is the trial weekend, if all goes according to plan, then we will be hiring more employees to care for our future guests." She started to sweat a little, hoping that this would serve as a good enough excuse. To prevent any other awkward questions Carla decided to continue on with the tour, "Now if you will follow me down this hallway,", she indicated the hallway with her left hand," we will be moving on to the dining area of the facility."

She led the guests down the hall, and into the Dining room. It consisted of one long, wooden table down the middle of the room that was lined with a large number of chairs. She led them around the perimeter of the room, stopping in front of the kitchen doors. "This!", she announced spreading her arms wide again,"is the dining facility. Three meals will be served here everyday at a set time. I will be providing a pamphlet with the meal times, and course descriptions at the end of the tour." As she spoke, Carla cursed the employees that had failed to arrive, I hope they rot in Hell, she thought spitefully. She did not allow her anger to show through to the guests, maintaining an overly cheerful facade she herder the guests into the kitchen. "This is our state of the art kitchen. All of our appliances are brand new, and very high end. Nothing but the best for our guests!" Carla was quite proud of the kitchen so she gave the guests a moment to gaze in awe at all the beautiful stainless steel appliances. "So what do you think so far?", she asked eager to hear their compliments.

John followed Carla silently. I don't know why she's making everyone go on this silly tour. Just give them a map of the place, I mean it is not like they have never been to a hotel before! Not only was he annoyed at Carla, the reminder of the lack of employees caused him to feel a deep anger towards them. They better not show their faces now, or I'll pound them to a pulp! The nerve of those people, leaving Carla and I to look after all of these people. He shook his head to snap out of his anger as his wife was leading everyone into the kitchen. The last think he needed right now was for Carla to catch him daydreaming in the middle of the tour she had be so looking forward to hosting.

Carla waited in vain for a few moments before clearing her throat, and leading the guests over to the walk in Fridge. She opened the large silver door, and pushed the rubber flaps aside to give them a glimpse at the food. "Our fridge is fully stocked with only the best of foods. All of it is organic, and hormone free." She boasted, closing the door, and leading the guests of the kitchen through a side door. She took them down the hall, and into the first room on the right. "This is the game room. Just like the kitchen, everything in here is brand new and very high end. For you to enjoy at your leisure are foosball table, air hockey, some arcade game, pool tables, and a self-serve bar." She pointed to each of the items as she mentioned them. Carla them moved over to the door that led to the staff room. She opened it, leading the way inside. "Now this is the Staff room. If you can't seem to find either me or John, you can always check in here, or if it is late at night you can always find us in our room, 301."

Carla gave the group a second to take everything in before leading them back to the lobby."Before I end the tour, I would like to point out how to get to our skiing slopes. Unfortunately, I am unable to show you at this time due to the bad weather." She explained apologetically as she pointed to the heavy snowfall that was taking place just outside the window. "To get there you simply need to follow the path labeled 'Ski Slopes' that starts just as you walk outside. There is also a small rental shop up on the hill where you can rent out skiis, boots, and jackets. Due to the shortage of staff, you simply need to come to me if you desire to rent something, and I will log into the database via the front desk computer." Carla paused to take a deep breathe before continuing, "Thank you for attending the tour of the Shelter Lodge, remember that if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to approach either myself, or John and we will be happy to assist you."

Just as Carla made it back behind her desk, she realized that she had forgotten something. "Oh Wait!", she shouted, "I forgot to hand out the dining pamphlets!" She grabbed the pile of light pink pamphlets, and began handing them out to the guests. "The meal times are clearly marked, but I would just like to mention that dinner will be taking place in three hours. We will be serving oven roasted chicken with asparagus and mashed potatoes."

Once everything was over, Carla made her way back to the front desk, and motioned for John to follow her. "I need you here so I can get that meal started. We can't have the guests starving all because those pests didn't bother showing up!, Carla hissed this at John, and didn't give him a chance to respond before stalking off to the kitchen. It's going to be a long weekend, John sighed, while leaning on the counter hoping that the guests would entertain themselves so he could relax.

Nara
Nara wondered away from the group, thinking of where she wanted to go. She paused, seeing some guy put a cigarette away and go to the game room. Deciding the game room would be a good way to waste time, Nara went there. The guy she saw went straight to the bar, which made Nara roll her eyes a bit.

Looking around, she found a few arcade games, most of which she hadn't heard of before. There was, however, the classic pac-man machine. Or, at least a rip off of one. The title was different, and had different characters, but the idea was the same. Smiling a bit to herself, Nara went over to go play it. After about five minutes of playing, she got a bit bored. She loved games, but there was only so many times you could play one game. Sighing, Nara turned and looked around for something else to do.

Tim
Tim decided the best place for him to be right now was not among people, since the few people he had met already didn't like him it seemed. After a brief pause to look around, Tim headed back to his room. Once inside, he threw the dinner pamphlet onto his open bag, and laid down on the bed. It was comfy, he had to admit. But the place was a little too orderly for his tastes. It was the reason he didn't like hotels, they always made you feel like you had to keep it really clean.

Taking out his iPod from his pocket, he put the earphones in and closed his eyes, intent on taking a nap. Maybe some sleep would get his attitude into a better place so he could at least attempt to socialize.
